FAQ: How can I make money in the App Store the easy way?

Suppose I have an app, like a game. It's not very good, I didn't really invest anything, there are a lot better ones out there but I want to make money with it. Are there ways I can do this?
Q: Can I pay an "agency" in India, Russia, China or here in the US to load up my reviews with 5-star ratings for me?
A: Yes, because download volume and star ratings both contribute to your overall score, there are people that provide this service and bump your ratings. These are known as "shills". To use a shill, the app has to be free otherwise it would be too expensive to download and rate. In this case, you will provide your app for free but make your money with in-app purchases.
Q: Do I have to actually deliver in-app materials the customer purchased?
A: You have to deliver "something". Apple will screen for this functionality in the app approval process. However, you can just deliver "virtual cash" that promises to be worth something.
Q: Can I make them to pay extra for delivery?
A: Yes and no. The delivery has to work or it will be caught by Apple's app approval process. However, if you deliver virtual cash instead of real money, you can delay delivery of items purchased with virtual cash and then charge more for delivery.
Q: Can I require pre-requisite purchases?
A: Yes. You can prohibit the use of purchases until other purchases are made first. You do not need to spell out these prerequisite purchases. This is a modified "bait and switch" scheme.
Q: But won't that get me reported to Apple?
A: No, it can't. Apple doesn't allow customers to "report a problem" for either free apps or in-app purchases. With both methods of reporting blocked, the money goes directly to you without question. The customer has no recourse. Trying to report abuse sends the user to a generic ITunes support page on the web.
Q: Are there ways Apple can thwart these techniques?
A: Yes. But they don't. At least not yet. Here are just a few ways:
Apple can require a price for apps that have in-app purchases. First, the shill services couldn't operate because it would be too expensive. Second, it would give the customer a "report a problem" link that would actually do something.
For free apps that offer in-app purchases, Apple could require an in-app purchase before submitting a review or star rating
or Apple can provide a method for customers to report problems with any of the following:
free apps that support in-app purchases
in-app purchases themselves
shill schemes
or unscrupulous developers
Q: Well, Apple hasn't done any of this, yet. Am I OK until they do?
A: Customers can't report problems to Apple, but they can report problems to their state's Attorney General's office. To do that, they'll have to visit naag.gov, look up their officer's website where they can search for methods of reporting there.

For the iTunes store (this is the iTunes Store) forum then you can log out via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the screen :
The 'Sign Out' option will then change to 'Sign In'. Any content that was downloaded by your father's account will remain tied to his account.
It's similar for the Mac App Store, there should be a Store menu at the top of the screen with a Sign Out option on it, which will then become Sign In.
