FB4 vgroup/hgroup prevents effects from occurring

I am using Flash Builder 4 Beta 2 and have run into an issue I can't figure out.  I created a new component that is based on spark.components.Group, Inside that group I define a mx:image and a s:label wrapped in a s:vgroup.  I then have a click handler on the component that will cause the image to bounce up and down when clicked.
Very basic example leaving a lot out like the click hanlder and effect stuff, but easily shows what i am talking about:
<s:group>
     <s:vgroup>
          <mx:image />
          <s:label />
     </s:vgroup>
</s:group>
Now if i click on the component after its been added to another page the image does not perform the bounce effect.  However if I just change the tags of the vgroup to be the old mx:vbox, that s:vgroup replaced, then the effect works beautifly.
For example:
<s:group>
     <mx:vbox>
          <mx:image />
          <s:label />
     </mx:vbox>
</s:group>
What I am wondering is if this is a beta 2 bug or if I am doing something improperly. If i just make the entire thing vgroup instead of just group then the effect doesn't work either.

Here is my component code, if you put this component onto another page and click it the image will not bounce.  If you then just comment out the S:vgroup section and uncomment the mx:vbox section the image will bounce without any issues.

  • How do I prevent effects from being rasterized/un-editable when I re-open my CS6 file?

    Since upgrading to CS6: when I re-open Illustrator CS6 files, I find that effects such as dropshadow, etc. are rasterized as images or other elements that I can't edit as "effects". I'm the single author of these files, so they're being edited on the same computer and in the same program version. Anyone know why this is happening, and how to prevent it? It's really slowing me down.

    Is it possible that you have opened older files created in CS5 or earlier? That in itself is not a problem, but if the file wants to keep that earlier version compatability when you save, then there's a mismatch between CS6 and earlier versions of Illustrator, especially around transparency issues like drop shadows.
    Make sure to save as an illustrator .ai format and on the second screen of the save dialog box choose CS6 as the version.
    Not sure if that's it, but worth checking. Hope that helps…

    Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
    Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
    If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
    It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
    If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
    In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
    Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
    The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

  • How to you stop outdiscards from occurring on ethernet ports?

    I have a number of switches being monitored that are reports many outdiscards on various ports. What is the easiest way to prevent outdiscards from occurring on ethernet ports?

    This maybe a negotiation problem with your specific hosts...... Currently I have an issue with incrementing discards on a bunch of switch ports running 1gb auto, I have a Gigamon aggregator switch tapping these problem switch ports sending each hosts data to a traffic analyzer tool. I can see over 1s period the max bandwidth is 600mb for most hosts (all 1gb links) but if I dig deeper over 1ms and 10ms microbursts I can see the link almost constantly hitting 1GB, ie.- hitting the max. QOS is really not going to make much difference here with my type of traffic, the solution is to go to a 10Gb solution. Not an easy solution, this costs money! How many packets per/sec per 5 min input and output are you seeing? Mine are approx 10,000-15,000 on average on a WS-X6748-GE-TX card. sh int gi1/10

  • How can we prevent JTabbedPanes from transferring focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal?

    Hi,
    I noticed a strange focus traversal behavior of JTabbedPane.
    During tab traversal (when the user's intention is just to switch between tabs), the focus is transferred to a component outside of the tabs (if there is a component after/below the JTabbedPane component), if using Java 6. For example, if using the SSCCE below...
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.event.FocusAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.FocusEvent;
    import java.awt.event.KeyEvent;
    import javax.swing.Box;
    import javax.swing.BoxLayout;
    import javax.swing.JButton;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    import javax.swing.JScrollPane;
    import javax.swing.JTabbedPane;
    import javax.swing.JTextField;
    import javax.swing.SwingUtilities;
    public class TabbedPaneTest extends JPanel {
        public TabbedPaneTest() {
            super(new BorderLayout());
            JTabbedPane tabbedPane = new JTabbedPane();
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 1", buildPanelWithChildComponents());
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(0, KeyEvent.VK_1);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 2", buildPanelWithChildComponents());
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(1, KeyEvent.VK_2);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 3", buildPanelWithChildComponents());
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(2, KeyEvent.VK_3);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 4", buildPanelWithChildComponents());
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(3, KeyEvent.VK_4);
            JPanel panel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            panel.add(tabbedPane);
            JButton button = new JButton("Dummy component that gains focus when switching tabs");
            panel.add(button, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
             * To replicate the focus traversal issue, please follow these steps -
             * 1) Run this program in Java 6; and then
             * 2) Click on a child component inside any tab; and then
             * 3) Click on any other tab (or use the mnemonic keys ALT + 1 to ALT 4).
            button.addFocusListener(new FocusAdapter() {
                @Override
                public void focusGained(FocusEvent e) {
                    System.err.println("Gained focus (not supposed to when just switching tabs).");
            add(new JScrollPane(panel));
        private JPanel buildPanelWithChildComponents() {
            JPanel panel = new JPanel();
            BoxLayout boxlayout = new BoxLayout(panel, BoxLayout.PAGE_AXIS);
            panel.setLayout(boxlayout);
            panel.add(Box.createVerticalStrut(3));
            for (int i = 0; i < 4; i++) {
                panel.add(new JTextField(10));
                panel.add(Box.createVerticalStrut(3));
            return panel;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                public void run() {
                    JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test for Java 6");
                    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
                    frame.add(new TabbedPaneTest());
                    frame.pack();
                    frame.setVisible(true);
    ... Then we can replicate this behavior by following these steps:
    1) Run the program in Java 6; and then
    2) Click on a child component in any of the tabs; and then
    3) Click on any other tab (or use the mnemonic keys 'ALT + 1' to 'ALT + 4').
    At step 3 (upon selecting any other tab), the focus would go to the component below the JTabbedPane first (hence the printed message in the console), before actually going to the selected tab.
    This does not occur in Java 7, so I'm assuming it is a bug that is fixed. And I know that Oracle suggests that we should use Java 7 nowadays.
    The problem is: We need to stick to Java 6 for a certain application. So I'm looking for a way to fix this issue for all our JTabbedPane components while using Java 6.
    So, is there a way to prevent JTabbedPanes from passing the focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal (e.g. when users are just switching between tabs), in Java 6?
    Note: I've read the release notes between Java 6u45 to Java 7u15, but I was unable to find any changes related to the JTabbedPane component. So any pointers on this would be deeply appreciated.
    Regards,
    James

    Hi Kleopatra,
    Thanks for the reply.
    Please allow me to clarify first: Actually the problem is not that the child components (inside tabs) get focused before the selected tab. The problem is: the component outside of the tabs gets focused before the selected tab. For example, the JButton in the SSCCE posted above gets focused when users switch between tabs, despite the fact that the JButton is not a child component of the JTabbedPane.
    It is important for me to prevent this behavior because it causes a usability issue for forms with 'auto-scrolling' features.
    What I mean by 'auto-scrolling' here is: a feature where the form automatically scrolls down to show the current focused component (if the component is not already visible). This is a usability improvement for long forms with scroll bars (which saves the users' effort of manually scrolling down just to see the focused component).
    To see this feature in action, please run the SSCCE below, and keep pressing the 'Tab' key (the scroll pane will follow the focused component automatically):
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.Component;
    import java.awt.GridBagConstraints;
    import java.awt.GridBagLayout;
    import java.awt.Insets;
    import java.awt.event.FocusAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.FocusEvent;
    import java.awt.event.KeyEvent;
    import javax.swing.JButton;
    import javax.swing.JComponent;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JLabel;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    import javax.swing.JScrollPane;
    import javax.swing.JTabbedPane;
    import javax.swing.JTextField;
    import javax.swing.JViewport;
    import javax.swing.SwingUtilities;
    public class TabbedPaneAutoScrollTest extends JPanel {
        private AutoScrollFocusHandler autoScrollFocusHandler;
        public TabbedPaneAutoScrollTest() {
            super(new BorderLayout());
            autoScrollFocusHandler = new AutoScrollFocusHandler();
            JTabbedPane tabbedPane = new JTabbedPane();
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 1", buildPanelWithChildComponents(20));
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(0, KeyEvent.VK_1);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 2", buildPanelWithChildComponents(20));
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(1, KeyEvent.VK_2);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 3", buildPanelWithChildComponents(20));
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(2, KeyEvent.VK_3);
            tabbedPane.addTab("Tab 4", buildPanelWithChildComponents(20));
            tabbedPane.setMnemonicAt(3, KeyEvent.VK_4);
            JPanel panel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            panel.add(tabbedPane);
            JButton button = new JButton("Dummy component that gains focus when switching tabs");

                gridBagConstraints.gridy = i;
                panel.add(new JLabel(labelPrefix + (i + 1)), gridBagConstraints);
                gridBagConstraints.insets = textFieldInsets;
                gridBagConstraints.gridx = 2;
                textField = new JTextField(22);
                panel.add(textField, gridBagConstraints);
                textField.addFocusListener(autoScrollFocusHandler);
            return panel;

                public void run() {
                    JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test for Java 6 with auto-scrolling");
                    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
                    frame.add(new TabbedPaneAutoScrollTest());
                    frame.setSize(400, 300);
                    frame.setVisible(true);
    * Crude but simple example for auto-scrolling to focused components.
    * Note: We don't actually use FocusListeners for this feature,
    *       but this is short enough to demonstrate how it behaves.
    class AutoScrollFocusHandler extends FocusAdapter {
        private JViewport viewport;
        private JComponent view;
        public void setScrollPane(JScrollPane scrollPane) {
            viewport = scrollPane.getViewport();
            view = (JComponent) viewport.getView();
        @Override
        public void focusGained(FocusEvent event) {
            Component component = (Component) event.getSource();
            view.scrollRectToVisible(SwingUtilities.convertRectangle(component.getParent(),
                    component.getBounds(), view));
    Now, while the focus is still within the tab contents, try to switch to any other tab (e.g. by clicking on the tab headers, or by using the mnemonic keys 'ALT + 1' to 'ALT + 4')...
    ... then you'll notice the following usability issue:
    1) JRE 1.6 causes the focus to transfer to the JButton (which is outside of the tabs entirely) first; then
    2) In response to the JButton gaining focus, the 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls down to the bottom of the form, to show the JButton. At this point, the tab headers are hidden from view since there are many child components; then
    3) JRE 1.6 transfers the focus to the tab contents; then
    4) The 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls up to the selected tab's contents, but the tab header itself is still hidden from view (as a side effect of the behavior above); then
    5) Users are forced to manually scroll up to see the tab headers whenever they are just switching between tabs.
    In short, the tab headers will be hidden when users switch tabs, due to the Java 6 behavior posted above.
    That is why it is important for me to prevent the behavior in my first post above (so that it won't cause usability issues when we apply the 'auto-scrolling' feature to our forms).

  • My macbook shuts off randomly, how do I know what's causing this and prevent it from happening again?

    My macbook shuts off and I kept a journal for it because mine's got complications.
    July 1, 2014 (Tuesday)
    I spilled a cup of choclate milk on my keyboard, it was soaked! But my battery was drained so I know nothing had short out. So I turned it over and never tried to turn it on.
    July 2
    I went to the nearest apple center and asked them to clean it for me. (I knew it wasn't a good idea to clean it myself) They put it in a plastic bag but I asked them to open it as soon as possible so I know what parts are affected. They told me they'd take a picture of the inside for me and go back after an hour. Milk was still inside everywhere so I asked them to take it in.
    July 8
    I called to get an update on my mac and they said it wasn't economically practical to repair it because they recommended a full system replacement. I got depressed and accepted my Mac's fate. But what's annoying is I put my mac in on July 2 and they only tried to clean it in July 5 which makes me think that was the reason my mac was irreparable.
    July 9
    I took my mac and tried to find another opinion but I showed the diagnostics from the apple store and they said they couldn't fix it. My parents were getting ready to buy a new one.
    July 13
    I realized that my mac didn't have charge when milk spilled on it so I tried to charge it and BOOM IT OPENED. They keyboards were sticky and it takes a moment before my computer reacts to the trackpad but it works! Even all the keys works! But it doesn't charge.
    After lunch, it was workingp perfectly and my batteries were at 30% charge! I was really happy!
    (in the interval my mac works perfectly, it stays for normal 7 hours when battery is charged fully)
    However at July 19
    There was no electricity for four days (A typhoon came in the Philippines) and my battery is about 7% so I went to the public market to get it charge while I wait for electricity. I charged it for about 3 hours and sideways because it was inside my backpack while it charged so noone will notice it. When I got home and opened my laptop, it shut off randomly after my desktop appeared after start up. So I was sad.
    July 20
    I found a solution online to use the option-shift-power button my mac opened and worked normally!
    July 21
    My computer was normal in the morning then in the afternoon it shut off again after I waked it up from sleep. Tried option-shift for about 3-5 times before it worked with varying intervals from 5-20 minutes each
    July 22
    I get nervous when I use it but it worked perfectly I was even able to edit with Final-cut pro and HD clips.

    Worked perfectly in the morning but in the afternoon, after waking it up from sleep it won't turn on tried the option-shift then I tried resetting the SMC for about three times (my mac is a unibody) but it didn't turn on the whole evening.
    Today Thursday morning July 24
    I tried to reset SMC first thing in the morning after the thing won't turn on. After about an hour, I tried to turn my mac on normally and it opened. So what I did is to back up all my files. (It took the whole afternoon) and at night I ran diagnostics (D during start up) and no threats were found
    Haven't been experiencing the trouble, as of the moment I'm writing this Jul 25, Friday (12:13 AM) HK time Philippines.
    So what I'm asking here is what do I do to make sure this doesn't occur anymore. I probably written a very detailed log. So what else (diagnostics and other) should I do to prevent this from happening again. School starts in August and I will need my laptop to work perfectly to let me go through college with less burden. Thank you and I hope you reply. Any more questions about details on my Mac will be answered

    Get a new computer. Consider switching to regular milk, or even a light fruit juice.

  • How to prevent users from running PRC: Transaction Import from WebADI form?

    Hi,
    We are 12.1.3 and trying to create a workflow to approve Project transactions coming through web ADI before they become effective. To this end, we want to prevent users from running the PRC: Transaction Import from the Web ADI.
    I know that if the checkbox Automatically run transaction import is not checked, the program does not run. But we want to hide this checkbox and not allow the possibility that the program could get triggered.
    To this end, we updated the BNE_INTEGRATORS_B with source='C'. This allows you to edit the integrator from Desktop Integration Manager.
    UPDATE BNE_INTEGRATORS_B SET SOURCE ='C' WHERE  INTEGRATOR_CODE ='PAXTTRXB'
    In the 4th step, where the value for Uploader Parameters is set, we have set boolean value to No. These are the fields on the page:
    Parameter Name: bne:import
    Display Name: Start Transaction Upload
    Data Type: Boolean
    Category: Field
    Default Value: Boolean Flag: No
    Description: start Transaction Import Concurrent Request
    Display Options: Displayed: Unchecked
    Display Options: Enabled: Checked
    Display Options: Required: Checked
    Prompt Left: Automatically submit Transaction import
    Display Type: Check Box
    Maximun Size: 100
    Display Size:100
    Now the checkbox is not appearing for the user to check it, But the program is automatically running when you hit Upload in the WebADI.

    Hi ,
    Try removing the PRC: Transaction Import Program from the request group for the responsibility used by customers to submit the WebADI and then check if the program launches.

  • How can I prevent children from shrinking to infinitesimal values on MouseEvents?

    Hi.
    I have the following code:
    //http://forums.adobe.com/message/3450898#3450898
    //square_mc.y property edited by kglad AND NedMurphy both

    trace(e.target.y+" e.target.y");
    you can troubleshoot the issue by adding a 12 frame MovieClip to your Library when you test this code and give it the names I referenced above in Bold.
    That is, whomever will have time to help me out.
    The problem I'm facing is not with loading the content of the Movie Clip, (though I might experience issues with that later when I try to load dynamic swfs) because as for now I just have placeholders on frames.
    What I want to know is why my red squares on the left navigation keep getting smaller as I repeat the MouseOver and MouseOut events.  It doesn't seem that these squares follow the logic of the code the way I have written it.  Some of the code was generated from a previous post with the help of contributors.
    Now I have again hit a slight snag with coding the math properly.  Initially when I tested the code it worked fine without any "shrinking" going on.  However, now with more code added the red navigation squares don't bounce back to their original states, they just keep getting smaller.
    Can anyone help me with this?
    Kindly thanking in advance,

    However, this code only ends up allowing the first thumbnail square to have the event listener.  I tried several variations of placement of the Boolean within the code but in some cases I got that nothing was functioning at all and in some cases I got that the Boolean didn't prevent the shrinking from occuring.  This code is as close as I got to calling the code to stop adding event listeners.
    I also tried:
    var alreadyExecuted+i:Boolean;
    if(!alreadyExecuted+i){
    code
    but I got an error telling me that it expects a semicolon before plus.  I guess you can't create numeric instances of  Booleans in the for loop.  The goal was to create a single boolean for each i in the loop to have a total of 12 booleans 0 through 11, one for each thumbnail so that the event listeners don't repeat as you suggested the Boolean would do.
    Still stumped.

  • How do i prevent Dreamweaver from changing all of my pages?

    Hello, thank you in advance for your help!
    I am using Dreamweaver CS5.5 and have downloaded a free CSS template (www.freecsstemplates.org).
    I created my home page and moved onto the second page - as i wanted the same theme i simply copied and pasted the HTML code and CSS code into a new document, when i made changes to the layout on the second page, the same changes were applied to the home page.
    Is there anyway i can prevent this from happening?
    Many thanks!

    Let me begin by saying I'm not a huge fan of these templates.  The code is somewhat bloated and it's not even an HTML5 doc.
    That said, open your HOME page.  Go to File > SaveAs > newfilename.html.
    Make required changes to the text only.  Save again.
    NOTE: Any changes you make to the external CSS file (style.css) will effect all pages in your site.  That's how global CSS works.  If you need a page specific style for page 2, embed it into the <head> tag of your document like this.
    <style type="text/css">
    Your page specific styles go here....
    </style>
