Field Level "Where-Used" ?

Is there a way I can do a "where used" on a Field within a Table ?
I would like to get all programs that use table-field,  LFM2-LFABC.
I can get all programs that use that table, via, the Table "where used" functionality.  However, I would like to go one level deeper and see all programs that just use that specific field.
Thanks.
David

  • Field where used quantity

    Hi All
    Can anybody please tell me where i can find the term in SAP "WHERE USED QUANTIY".
    Thanks in Advance
    Goutam

    To determine which BOMs an object is used in, you need to start a "bottom-up" analysis of BOMs.
    You can produce a where-used list for the following objects:
            --> Material (multi-level)
            --> Document (single-level)
            --> Class (single-level)
    This section describes the where-used list for materials in detail. You can produce where-used lists for documents and classes in the same way.
    <b>Use</b>
    A where-used list answers the question: Where is an object (for example, material) used, and in what quantity?
    This question is especially important, for example, if objects (such as materials) are used in more than one context.
    For example, you require this information to:
       => Determine requirements for a specific material
       => Select products that are affected by a change to an individual part
       => Find assemblies that will be delayed if, for example, there is a delay in the delivery of a raw material
       => Calculate the effect on the cost of a product if the price of a raw material rises
    Thanks

  • Field level trigger on qualifier field

    Hello,
    Here is my scenario.
    I have a qualified field : ACTIVE FLAG  in address qualified table.
    What i want to do is if the value of this field changes to N (possible values of this field : Blank,Y and N),i want my workflow to trigger.
    I know its possible with field trigger option where you create one time stamp field and will give the field you want to comare
    but in case of qualified tables you can not select qualifier as a selected field for timestamp field.you can only select non qualifiers.
    is there any other way this can be achieved?
    thanks
    Bindi

    SharePoint doesn't provide field level permissions.  Fellow MVP Dan Holme has a good article that recommends some approaches on this here:
    http://sharepointpromag.com/blog/3-approaches-restricting-access-sharepoint-columns-and-metadata
    Another approach you could take is to make the form an InfoPath form from in an InfoPath LIBRARY instead.  This way you can control the form fields and prevent users from directly editing fields.  It also plays really well with workflow.
    I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks

    thanks for your reply , seems that creating two lists will work for me better. but can you provide some useful links that talks about how to create two lists and link them , and specify different permissions for each list using web-parts...

  • To find Where-Used of ODS Active table

    Dear Experts,
    I am having an ODS for which I wish to know wherever the active table is used as reference. It has been used in many places in ABAP routines of transformations. I wish to know wherever the table is included.
    I checked in SE11 for where used list with all fields in table included option. It is giving only the table structure and nothing else.
    Can anyone help on this since we want to calculate the impact of this ODS in report level.
    Thanks,
    Rajarathnam.S

    Dear Raja,
    Thanks for the information. The code is  throwing dump on execution possibly because the table structures are changed in new releases ( I am not sure of this).
    But I was able to get the necessary information from the tables used in the ABAP code by manually using SE11 (RSTRAN and RSAABAP)
    I am closing the question.
    Thanks,
    Rajarathnam.S

  • Field level help

    Hi,
    Is portal provide any field level help. I mean to say that when i place my mouse arrow on a field than it gives me help what it does or press some key to know what this field does. Something like ballonic help in Developer 2000 Forms.
    Thanks
    Muhammad Ijaz

    We use field-level help from within our application, Liz, and
    we use Robo v5 for our HTML Help (output in CHM). I'm not entirely
    sure how the code is written because I only do the Help System (our
    application is currently being rewritten in Dot Net and we haven't
    finalized the Help for Dot Net yet). All I do in my Robo projects
    is put the bookmark where it needs to be. The F1 command that is
    passed within the application calls that bookmark. The app is
    currently written in Progress and the code simply calls the
    module/program/bookmark. As long as the bookmark I use in Robo
    matches what the Developer calls, the field level help works
    perfectly. The only problem we ever had was when the field name
    changed in the application and nobody told us in Documentation! As
    soon as I updated my bookmarks, it worked again.
    Hope this helps. If you need more info on the commands, email
    me directly and I'll get with the Developer to ask about the
    command line the code sends to call the CHM.

  • CS15 - where used in specific BOMs?

    cs15 can become ridiculously large.
    instead of returning parts that have been reused for years in so many BOMs...what is a good way to restrict a where used list to only return BOMs in a specific material?
    part XYZ is used in 300 BOMs, but only want to see the main BOM 12345 and any BOMs under it where this part is used.

    Dear Straz,
    Do you mean to say the report should show only the main assembly(say For Eg the FERT material )
    alone?
    In CS15 after executing the report,click on change layout for adding the field for Level,then you click on
    filter and select at which level you need the report.
    Otheriwse you have to go for a Z report and you can use this Functional
    module,CSEP_MAT_BOM_SELECT_WHERE_USED or CS_WHERE_USED_MAT and you in the
    output you can identify the specific one's using material type or passing these values to MARA table.
    Check and revert back.

(Ex if i h ave company code as A,B,and C. and if i have created a rolehe users  where only A and C is assigned so when i crreate a webi where users should only able to select comapny code as A and C only.)
    Now i want to know the steps to configure the same in BO for roles import and SAP authentication setting.Please do tell the pre-requisites .I got lot of links but am still confused.
    So please provide exact steps and setting to configure the same.

  • How to modify a lookup field-type to use checkbox instead of radiobutton?

    How to modify a lookup field-type to use checkbox instead of radiobutton?
    I would like to modify the behavior for the lookup field.
    Normally you get a screen where it is possible to search through a lookup. The items resulted from the search are listed as radiobutton items. Therefore you can select only one at the time to be added.
    Is it possible to have the items to be listed as checkbox instead? So that you can check multiple items and therefore be able to add multiple items at the time?
    For example:
    To add the user to 10 different groups on MS-AD.
    It is desired to have the ability to check multiple groups to be added instead only one at the time.
    My client would like to use this feature in many other situations.

    Displaying will not be a big deal but with that you have to customize the action class and its working as well.

  • How can I remove ASCII text from a field when I use it in a query

    How can I remove ASCII text from a field when I use it in a query?
    I am running a select statement on a table that appears to have ASCII text in some of the fields. If I use these fields in the where statement like the code below nothing returns:
    SELECT FIELD1 FROM TABLE1 WHERE FIELD1 IS NULL
    But the field looks empty if I do a straight select without the where clause. Additionally, one of the fields has text but appears to be padded out with ASCII text, which I need to strip out before I can use this field in a where or join statement. I have tried using a trim, ltrim, rtrim, to_char, nvl, decode and nothing works. When I use excel to run the same query it looks as if these ASCII fields are boxes.
    I have asked our DBA team to see what they can do to prevent these from going into the table, but in the mean time I still need to run this report.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Can you provide an example? I've been trying (for
    example) "select translate(' test one', ascii(' '),
    'X') from dual" with no luck.
    Thank you.To replace space, you should query like this:
    select translate(' test one', chr(32), 'X') from dual instead of select translate(' test one', ascii(' '), 'X') from dual Thanks,

  • How to populate the Error stack during error records in field level routine

    can anyone please help as to how can i populate error stack through field level routine?

    Hi,
    Try to do it in the end routine instead of the field routine.

  • Implement row-level security using Oracleu2019s Virtual Private Databases (VPD)

    Environment: Business Objects XI R2; Oracle 10g
    Functional Requirement:
    Implement row-level security using Oracleu2019s Virtual Private Databases (VPD) technology. The restriction is that the Business Objects Universe connection should use a generic/u201Capplicationu201D database user account. This will allow the organization to avoid the situation where the Business Objects password and the Oracle password need to be kept in synch.
    What do we need from the Business Objects support team?
    1.     Review the 2 attempted solutions that we have tried to implement
    2.     Propose solutions/answers to open questions for each of the attempted solutions
    3.     Propose any alternate solution that will help us implement the Function Requirement stated above
    Attempted Solution 1: Connection String uses Oracle Proxy User
    The connection string that is specified in the Universe is the following:
    app_user[end_user]/app_user_pwdarrobaDatabase.WORLD
    app_user = generic application user
    end_user = the oracle account of the end user which is set using arrobaVariable('BOUSER') app_user_pwd = password of the generic application user
    We have tried and implemented this in our test environment. However, we have some questions and concerns around how the connections are reused in a connection pool environment.
    Open Question for Solution 1:
    i. What happens when multiple proxy users try to connect on at the same time?  Business Objects shares the generic app_user connect string.  However, every user that logs on will have their own unique proxy user credentials.  Will there be any contention involved?  If so, what kind of errors can we expect?
    ii. If a user logs on using his credentials (proxy user), and business objects opens up a connection to the database using that user's credentials (as the proxy user but logging in through the generic app user). Then the user exits out --> based on our test today, it seems like the database connection remains open.  In that case, if another user logs on similarly with their credentials, will business objects simply assign the first users connection to that second user?  If so, then our security will not work.  Is there a way that Business Objects can somehow ensure that everytime we close a report, the connection is also terminated both at the BO and DB levels?
    iii. Our 3rd question is general high level -> How connection pooling works in general and how it is implemented in BO, i.e. how are new connections assigned, how are they recycled, how are they closed, etc.
    Attempted Solution 2: Using the ConnectInit parameter
    Reading through a couple of the Business Objects documents, it states that u201CUsing the ConnectInit parameter it is possible to send commands to the database when opening the session which can be used to set database specific parameters used for optimization.u201D
    Therefore, we tried to set the parameter in the Universe using several different options:
    ConnectInit = BEGIN SYSTEM.prc_logon('arrobaVARIABLE('BOUSER')'); COMMIT; END; ConnectInit = BEGIN DBMS_SESSION.SET_IDENTIFIER('arrobaVariable('BOUSER')'); COMMIT; END;
    Neither of the above iterations or any variation of that seemed to work. It seems that the variable is not being set or being u201Cexecutedu201D on the database.
    One of the Business Objects documents had stated that Patch ID 38, 977, 350 must be installed in our BO environments. We have verified that this patch has been applied on our system.
    Open Questions for Solution 2:
    How do we get the parameter ConnectInit to work? i.e. what is the proper syntax to enter and what other things do we need to check to get this to work.
    Note: Arroba word is being used instead of the symbol in order to avoid following error message:
    We are sorry but your message can not be posted since you have included an email address. Please remove the email address and re-post.

    the connectinit setting should look something like this:
    declare a date; begin vpd_setup('@VARIABLE('BOUSER')'); Commit; end;
    The vpd_setup procedure (in Oracle) should look like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure vpd_setup (p_user varchar)IS
    BEGIN
      DBMS_SESSION.set_vpd( 'SESSION_VALUES', 'USERID', p_user );
    END vpd_setup;
    Then you can retrieve the value of the context variable in your vpd functions
    and set the vpd.

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 - Help text at field level

    Hi,
    We are making use of the Help.properties file to produce field level text. I have field's such as the following
    <af:inputText value="#{bindings.DocumentName.inputValue}"
                                    label="#{bindings.DocumentName.inputValue eq null ? ''  : bindings.DocumentName.hints.label}"
                                    required="#{bindings.DocumentName.hints.mandatory}"
                                    columns="#{bindings.DocumentName.hints.displayWidth}"
                                    maximumLength="#{bindings.DocumentName.hints.precision}"
                                    shortDesc="#{bindings.DocumentName.hints.tooltip}"
                                    id="it4"
                                    autoSubmit="true"
                                    helpTopicId="WORKFLOW_EDITPURCHASEORDER_DOCUMENTNAME"
                                    readOnly="true"
                                    rendered="true"Is there a elegant way to disable the help text? e.g. provide a form level radio button to enable/disable help text? The only way i can think at the moment would
    be to set the helpTopidId to a key that doesnt exists using an EL expression.

    Hi,
    I think what you suggest is the way to go in this case

  • How to fix the field level Error(Invalid Date)

    Hi All,
    Error: 1 (Field level error)
      SegmentID: ACK
      Position in TS: 5
      Data Element ID: ACK05
      Position in Segment: 5
      Data Value: 162014
      8: Invalid Date
    can anyone help me out, How to fix above error? i searched about this but only information about the error  is given and no where it is mentioned how to fix it  and how is it generated please help me out.
    Thanks,
    Nitish

    Are you sending or receiving the EDI?
    Either way, "162014" is simply not a valid EDI data format.  Dates in x12 are expressed as CCYYMMDD so December 30, 2013 would appear as 20131230.
    If you are receiving, you need to contact the sender and have them correct the output.
    If you are sending, you need to property format that date value.  For example:
    myDateVar.ToString("yyyyMMdd");

  • Data conversion is necessary at field level

    Hi everybody.
    Im a BW consultant in a BCS project, and I had to make a change in a objetct that is used in BCS as a custom attribute.
    What I made, is to remove the ALPHA routine in the object.
    Later, the BCS consultant generetad the data basis again, and now when enter the UCWB a warning is showed, the message below:
    But I dont know how to do the procedure showed in the message, does anyone face with the same problem? Any suggestion?
    Best Regards,
    Thiago
    Field /BIC/ZC_EMPBPM: Data conversion is necessary
    Message no. UGMD418
    Diagnosis
    Following a change to the definition of field /BIC/ZC_EMPBPM it is necessary to convert the old data for this field before the new attributes can be activated. This arises, for example, when the following attributes have been changed:
    Conversion exit
    Version or time dependency of hierarchies
    System Response
    You cannot start the application. A data conversion is necessary first.
    Procedure
    Execute the necessary data conversion at the field level. To do this, press the respective button with the  symbol in the hierarchical detail display at the level of field /BIC/ZC_EMPBPM. If necessary, the system will prompt you for more information in a separate dialog box.
    Regards!

    Hi,
    I quess the following should help.
    Execute UCWB01 t-code, goto your data basis, in the tabstrip for assigning roles drag and drop any characteristic, then save. The system will find the change and check and regenerate data structures (that's what you need).
    Then either in UCWB or UCWB02 t-code got your ConsArea and regenerate it.
