File Adapter Fault Handling for CSV files

I have been working on a requirement where the file adapter picks up the file and gives to the BPEL for processing the data.
In my composite, i have configured the file adapter as a service for reading files, and i defined the xsd using the native format builder....
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:nxsd="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/nxsd"
xmlns:tns="http://TargetNamespace.com/ReadFile"
targetNamespace="http://TargetNamespace.com/ReadFile"
elementFormDefault="qualified"
attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
nxsd:version="NXSD"
nxsd:stream="chars"
nxsd:encoding="US-ASCII"
nxsd:hasHeader="true"
nxsd:headerLines="1"
nxsd:headerLinesTerminatedBy="${eol}"
>
<xsd:element name="Root-Element">
<xsd:complexType>
<xsd:sequence>
<xsd:element name="Student" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
<xsd:complexType>
<xsd:sequence>
<xsd:element name="Name" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
<xsd:element name="Street1" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
<xsd:element name="Street2" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
<xsd:element name="City" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
<xsd:element name="State" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
<xsd:element name="Country" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="${eol}" nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;" />
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
</xsd:schema>
If i put some test data like below , the .txt file is being picked up and the valid being passed to the BPEL and its not returning any error for the invalid records. In this case, just want to throw an error and exit the bpel.
Krish,abcd,abcd,chennai,tnin - comma is missing here
NP,abcd,abcd,chennai,tnin - - comma is missing here
Nutan,abcd,abcd,chennai,tn,in - this record being processed successfully.
Pari,abcd,abcd,chennai,tn,in - - this record being processed successfully.
Experts, any help is really appreciated..

  • File Adapter: Advanced selection for source file

    Hi Experts,
    I am doing file(Idoc format) to IDoc scenario. In my scenario I am getting files in three different formats (ex: abc.dat, xyz.dat, 123.edi). My communication channel (sender file adapter) should poll for every 30 mins, picks up the files and map them to Idoc without any mapping.
    Need following clarifications:
         1. Should I create 3 communication channels to pick up 3 different type files? Or should I use the Advanced selection for source file to pick up them with only one CC?
         2. If there is no mapping how should I proceed in this case?
    Regards,
    Rams

    >>1. Should I create 3 communication channels to pick up 3 different type files? Or should I use the Advanced selection for source file to pick up them with only one CC?
    Not required.. if all the files are from the same directory then u can specify .  in the file name parameter.. but make sure that only these 3 file types are places in the directory... if this is not the case you can use Advannced Selection... check my Wiki [Single Sender File CC For Multiple Directories|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/SingleSenderFileCCForMultipleDirectories]
    >>2. If there is no mapping how should I proceed in this case?
    Mappiing is required only if the source and the target structure are different.. if u send the file with the IDocc XML format mapping is not required...

    Hi,
    we have to explicitly mention batch while configuaring file adapter.
    i.e. in step 5 : Check file contains multiple messages and mention how many messages u want to process in a batch.
    i.e. if you have 10000 msgs in ur file mention the size as 500. Then it will read 10000 records in 20 batches.
    Now while writing to a file use Append=true property.
    U have to add this property to fileadapter.wsdl (in jca:operation tag) which will be created when u complete the configuaration of file adapter with write operation.

  • Unable to clone File Adapter receiver channel for parallel processing

    Hi Experts,
    I am using variable substitution for File - RFC - File with out BPM scenario(using request response, oneway bean).
    While i placed the file in the sender FTP folder, the file didnt get picked up, but in communication channel monitoring, i am getting error ' Unable to clone File Adapter receiver channel for parallel processing'.
    Can anybody provide me suggestions to solve this error.
    Note : without variable substitution , the interface is working good.
    Is it due to, i am trying the source structure field in response file adapter?

    Hi,
    In your CC, do you use some additional paramaters ?
    like these one of point 47/48 of [Oss note 821267 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0/ PI 7.1 File Adapter|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/821267]
    Maybe there is conflict with a parallel connexion and the bean used to do asynch-synch bridge...

  • File adapter configuration parameter for "hexadecimal conversion"

    (File adapter for XI 2.0)
    Does anybody know the exact File adapter configuration parameters for reading a file with hexadecimal control characters as seperators. My file has
    3 types of seperators - i.e "2F", "05" & "0D2F"
    Eg: xml.fieldSeparator= "2F"
    When I specify this the file is getting split into fields
    at all the seperators in the file. I guess I am not using the right format in my defination ?
    Dorai

    Is there any special format for reading a file containing hexadecimal control characters?
    The file to be processed has hexadecimal separators:
    Field Delimiter        : '09' or '05'
    End of record delimiter: '0A' or '25'
    End of Table delimiter : '07' or '2F'
    Initially i would like to read the file into XI as it is i.e without any split by using "xml.fieldFixedLengths= "
    However, everytime I process the file(with hexadecimal contol characters), I have noticed that my file is getting split, even when I did not specify anything for field separator(i.e when i used fixed field length).
    Thanks,
    Dorai

  • Unable to configure file adapter using FCC  for Multilevel hierarchy

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone help me in configuring the Receiver file adapter with FCC for the structure given below
    <Root>
    <Level1>

         <Ele2>

                </Level2a>
         </Level2>
    </Level1>

    Hi dineshmale,
    I have do this Multilevel hierarchy before. FCC can directly configure this scenario. But I don't know you output format. What my format shown below(here i use '#' instead of space):
    Level1_Field1##Level1_Field2##Level1_Field3##Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2

    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    FCC Parameter:
    Recordset Structure: Level1,Level2,Level3
    Level1.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level2.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1)
    Level2.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1and Level2)
    Level3.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.endSeparator = \n
    There are some points:
    1. the endSeparator for Level1 and Level2 doesn't work.
    2. the first begin separator in Level2 and Level3 doesn't work.
    3. The last field of super node and the first field of child node is separated by the (child).fieldSeparator.
    4. ....
    What's more, I have write a blog of FCC For Hierarchical Structure in Receiver Channel just now. So it need two days for Approval. Let me know for any issues.

  • File Adapter Error Handling

    Hi All,
    I am using File adapter to read the xml file and FTP it to another directory ( BPEL 10.1.3)
    If i put any xml file in the input directory , it picks up the file and FTP it , but the as the xml file will not match the xsd, it out put some xml file which doesnt have any data. I
    if the xml file not as per XSD then it should throw error or ?
    If i put the correct xml file it FTP it to output directory with correct xml file.
    My question is how do i handle the situation/error where xml file is not well formed or xml is not as per the xsd, so that it should stop the process and will log the error and put the file in some other directory.
    Please help.

  • Gui_upload for csv file with numeric n date fields

    Hi ,
      i searched on net on how to use GUI_UPLOAD for csv files using split function but the spilt function requires that the data type of all fields of the internal table should be character whereas in my case there is a numeric n data field too.So kindly help me how to do it.
    One way ppl might suggest that give all the fields as char in the internal n after recieving the data in the internal convert the required fields back to data n numeric n then finally insert to the database but if i have 80 fields u would really dont want to do that as it requires precision to convert it to the same type n length as in the original database for all the fields.

    yeah i guess that would be a bit longer if i m having more no of fields (80) compared to ORACLE where this can be done in a shorter way.
    SO i shall use 2 internal tables here rite?? i mean first one(with all fields as char) for storing the split function values and the other one (with actual data types) .CAN u plz tell me how to convert or cast from one data type to another n while moving values from 1st internal table to another  which way shall i do.
    Thanks for ur help n can u suggest if there is any other method for uploading csv also other than this split method n whether this method is better n faster than others.

  • Receiver file adapter posts multiples for singel source files

    Hi,
    I am using wild character in my input source ftp adapter but my receiver file adapter is creating multiple duplicate files. I am not sure why this happens as QOS is set to "Exactly Once" with archive processing mode. I tried with delete mode and the same error occurs. Hi,
    2. Homany files you posted at oubound directory?
    1.             You said duplicate files at receiver side, is the files having time stamp? if so those are not duplicate files.
    Thanks,
    Satish.

  • Need Help-SOA 11g File Adapter unable to delete input file and its crashing

    Hi All
    Please find the details below:
    1. We have created a simple SOA composite to Read file from an input directory, archive the file in an archive directory using Inbound File Adapter Read
    and then use Outbound File Adapter Write to move the file to a output directory.
    2. File Adapter needs to delete the file after successful read/retrieval.
    3. We are using the "Use Trigger File" for invoking the file adapter. This is a new feature in SOA 11g
    4. Also we are using the option of reading the file as an attachment as we are not doing any transformation in the composite
    Issue Details_
    1. When the trigger file is put in the input directory for the first time, the File Adapter reads the file, archives it and moves it to the output directory
    2. However it does not delete the input file from the input directory and raises Fatal Exception mentioned below:

    Hi,
    Using the file adapter, you can poll from multilple locations...
    Keep the following property in your .jca file
    <property name="DirectorySeparator" value="," />
    While giving the path in File Adapter configuration, keep comma and give the next location....then the file will be picked up from the locations you gave....
    Hope this helps...
    Thanks,

  • File adapter should pick a single file at a time

    Hi,
        I have File to RFC scenario.. in my source directory  I'm getting bunch of files with  the same name.  at a time.. but  i want to pick the one by one only. that means.. my file adapater poll interval is 30 seconds.. every 30 seconds it will pick the one file.. even though there are multiple files.. but my file adapter should pick a single file ata time..
    but at present my file adapater was picking all the files ata time..  but i want to make my file adapter should pick single file ata time..
    for this.. any special  configuration we need to do..  or  any  ideas or suggestion  .. will be.. appriciated..
    regards
    Babu

    >>any special configuration we need to do..
    there is no default configuration to achieve this functionality.
    I speculate that any of this should work.
    1. Post the files to a intermediate directory and use a SCRIPT/Batch program to move only one file at a time frame to the source directory.
    2. Uncheck the option Process Read only files in the sender CC to prevent the file adapter to pick the read only files. Use a script that changes the permission of one file at a time so that the file adapter will pick that file alone.
    In both the cases the script needs to be scheduled at the OS level to run every 30 seconds.
    Thanks

  • Sener file adapter has read/pick the files first in first out method.

    HI
    In my Interface I am Using Sender as File adapter. As per my requirement Sender file adapter has to read the file from file directory. This directory having 1000u2019s of files with some files are same name (time stamp is different) and some files are different name here file adapter has to pick the file with mentioned name   in File sender adapter like ZMPSMSGSTATUSMST-.xml .
    But source file name is like <TABLENAME>-<TIME_STAMP>.XML (ZMPSWRKFLOWHIST-20090527-150522-628) in file directory.
    The file adapter in XI will poll to this directory and picks the file in first- in first-out by sorting according to timestamp.
    To do this configuration what I have to do in sender file adapter please give me your valuable inputs.

    HI Abhi,
    Thank you for your spot replay.
    I tested now but i am geting below error.

    Could not archive file 'E:\file\in\ZMPSMSGSTATUSMST-20090527-150522-628.xml' after processing
    but i am able to see this file in Archive foleder. once file is archivied sucessfully the same file is delted from source directory?
    I given processing parametes queue name is TEST.

  • Sender file adapter is not polling the file.

    Dear all,
       Sender file adapter is not polling the file.(But Receiver file adapter is getting the file)
    we have installed SP15.
    It was worked fine for previous SP14.
    I have cheked in Adapter monioring also.
    Can you help me out of this problem
    Regards
    Dhanabal

    Hi Dhanabal,
    Is the XI system running on a unix machine ?
    If yes, from the OS level for the folder you are using in the file comm. channel, execute the command
    <b>chmod 777 <folder_name></b>
    The reason for the file to show up in receiver side and not get deleted might be that the xi user mighht be having only read access to the folder...
    Thanks,
    Renjith.
