File generated in AL11 directory

Hi Experts,
I have created a logical file path and assigned it to physical path in FILE transaction.
I have also created logical file name and mapped it to Physical File name.
The physical file name is "stock<YYYY><MM><DD>.csv" . But when I execute APD and the file is generated, it gets generated at different directory and the file name appears as "stock201".
I dont know where it is getting wrong, but I think it is getting replaced with exact no. of characters in <FILENAME> parameter.
The output file "stock201" is exactly 8 characters long as the the no. of characters in parameter <FILENAME>.
Any suggestions to resolve the above problem.

Can you please check that you have the coding correction applied from the SAP notes 1318160 and 1416830 if they are relevant for your release? Although the note symptoms don't exactly describe your problem they are relevant for the issue.

Requirement: To get the file list in an internal table in a specific directory
Current Scenario: We are using the FM 'SUBST_GET_FILE_LIST' to get the file list.
But the file names in the return table are being truncated after 75 characters but we are having long file names(100 chars)
Could anybody sugest an alternate FM or the table from where we can retrieve the file list?

Problem in output file generation in AL11 tcode

Hi experts,
                 I am doing one proxy to file scenario.file to be generated as a fixed length format .when i run the scenario, i am getting all the values in output payload correctly in Sxmb_moni and file is also created.But when i scroll upto last to the file generated in ALL11 directory. I am not getting whole values that generated in output payload.In my case my last value is generating in output payload but i am getting trimmed value in file generated in al11 directory.when i save this text file also in local system , i am again only getting trimmed values as seen in All11 directory.when i tried with changing any field length value before that last field with small length(size)value.I am able to see the whole output payload value in file also while scrolling in the file generated in al11 directory

Since in AL11 you can have only 256 char in a row, so I hope you will be getting 3 rows in your case. Correct??
First row 256
2nd   row 256
3rd   row   1
Total     513
So out will be 513 which is correct because from first 2 rows it has truncated 1 char from both rows. Please check your output length again to confirm.
So it is not a problem neither your's nor AL11's. When you write your file at legacy system then it will show the correct data or use FTP adapter and write the file on your local machine to see all the char.
I hope this solves your problem.

Problem in output file generation in AL11 tcode - need quick help

Scenario:- Proxy to File ( file is generated in AL11 directory folder.
Probelm:
Last field value is generated with correct values in SXMB_MONI output payload, But when I open a file in AL11 the last field fiew value are getting trimmed. Also when I get the dump of file - file also has the same trimmed value.
For example: Expected value in MONI is 12345 where as in AL11 i m getting 1234
I have reduce the length of previous fields and run the scenario again - for this scenario all the values are coming in AL11 as well as in MONI.
Is somthing to do with screen width length.

HI ,
Its a problem with File Transfer tcode sxda_tools and AL11 sometimes. Ask your Basis team to give you file contents from PI Server directly. This file should have right contents as you expected.
I also faced the same problem and wasted lot of time to solve it.
Hence, check the folder where you dump this file on application server and give this path to basis to provide you this file from server.

AL11 Directory length

Dear all,
Let say I have a work area with 6 fileds and each is of CHAR100 type. so if I completely populate the work area then, it will contain 600 characters.
Now, when I create a file in the AL11 Directory with the contents of the work area, it is showing only 512 characters in the AL11 directory. However, if we open the same file through Unix system and display it, it displays all the characters.
There is no truncation of data. But my requirement is to increase the limit from 512 characters to say 1024 or something like that, so that I can see all the characters in AL11 also.
Is that possible? if so how can I do that?

evem the display is not there also,once you download the files you will have all the data..
if particlulary you want to increase the size viewable in AL11 then contact the BASIS..

In the Flat file generated after Content Conversion, In NFS AL11 Directries Not able to See complete file

My scenario is Proxy to File scenario.
I used content conversion for generating flatfile in receiver side.
In FCC i used fieldFixed Lengths, The flatfile is generated. I gave the Target Directory as AL11 directory(NFS).
In my scenario length of Header is 622 characters.
But am getting the file Upto 512 characters. After That I am not getting any fields in the Header, Remaining fields are cut.
Same I checked with SFTP server with same Content Conversion.It is working good and I am getting complete Header with 622 characters.
Can you please suggest what should I do to get the 622 character in NFS, It is accepting only 512 characters in NFS.

In addition to Amit,
AL11 transaction is used to display all the SAP Directories.When you double click on a directory, you will able to see all the files in the directories. But you can not view the complete content of the file from AL11 as there are some restrcitions in it. Even if you download the file from AL11 itself, the actual file won't be downloaded and you will see the file name along with the path inside the downloaded file as same as you can see it in Al11. So if you need the complete and actual file, you need to download the file from the OS level. You can take help from your basis team to download the file.

Extracting a csv file into a Z directory in AL11 via Open Hub

Hi All,
After reviewing alot of treads I am able to etracte a .csv file via Open Hub Destination into DIR_HOME in AL11.
But, My requirement is to create the file in AL11 directory "ZBIWCOPA" and this directory is available in all systems in the landscape.
Kindly provide inputs on creating this file in this "Z" AL11 directory and precauious while transporting the Open Hub.

I see where I went wrong in my answer, now that I'm able to actually logon (my apologies). In your case, you're going to have to create a Logical File Path and Logical File Name in tcode FILE.
1) When you get into tcode FILE, click on the New Entries button.
2) Enter a Logical File Path technical name and description.
3) Click on Save.
4) Back out of the screen, highlight the Logical File Path you created, double-click on the Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path on the left-navigation bar and click the New Entries button.
5) Enter the OS compatibility you wish this path to have for the Syntax Group. In your case, you want to select the OS for the application servers that are going to be the landing zone for your file.
6) Enter /ZBIWCOPA/ in the Phyiscal Path. Save the assignment.
7) Go back to the main screen for tcode FILE and double-click on the Logical File Name Definition, Cross-Client selection on the left navigation bar.
8) Click on the New Entries button.
9) Enter the Logical File Name technical name, description in Name, Phyiscal File name (e.g. this is the actual name of the file to be sent to the landing zone), Data Format, Application Area, Logic File Path that you created and then Save.
10) In your OHD, remove any server name and enter to the Logical File Name that you created in tcode FILE.

Selective deletion frm DSO based on selection in csv file on AL11 directory

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I have to automate the Flat File Upload coming from AL11 SAP directory followed by the selective deletion from DSO with the selection in the Flat file (.csv) on the directory.
The csv file having fixed name and column. We have to take first selection i.e. Date (single entry) from second column and Comp Code from the 4th column (multiple entry).
based on both the selection i have to perform selective deletion and then file upload.
Could anybody please help me to write code and steps.

Write to excel file (into AL11 directory)

I am able to loop an internal table and write to csv file in AL11 directory.
But how to write to excel file instead of csv file. And how to format the excel file (for example, column B should be format to numeric and column E should format to date format), and are we able to put like red color on column C for example?

You need to add the tab inbetween all the fields of internal table and upload to application server using
OPEN DATASET
TRANSFER
CLOSE DATASET.
to add the tab inbetween the fields..you can use this code....
concatenete itb-field1 itab-field2......... into string seperated by CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB.
one exception whicle uploading data to the Application server you need to convert dec or currency field to char type otherwise it will give you short dump.

Error while reading file name in a directory

I am trying to read all the file names within a directory, however I get the below error while running the code.

[SOLVED] Files in the /tmp directory are being deleted

I've been using Arch Linux for four weeks, but have now come across a problem which I can't fix after trying to search for a solution (and also checking to see if anyone also had the same problem). I would appreciate any help you can give.
A few days ago the web browsers I use (chromium and opera) lost their profile settings, and I had to set the profiles. This kept happening and the indicator of the problem was that I use profile-sync-daemon for both web browsers, which uses the /tmp directory. I then started noticing that a file I created in /tmp disappeared which pointed me to the fact that something was cleaning up the /tmp directory (this seems to happen hourly).
A quick search led me to systemd-tmpfiles and the /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/tmp.conf file. I have not modified the file, and if I have read it correctly only files in the /tmp directory that are more than 10 days old are deleted. I boot every day, so no files should be deleted by systemd-tmpfiles (unless I've misunderstood tmpfiles.d).
Here is the tmp.conf file anyway:

EDIT: journalctl doesn't show me anything interesting, other than the fact that chromium complains when it realizes that its profile data has gone missing.

I think I have found the problem.
There was a gnome update earlier in the week. gnome-settings-daemon runs an hourly housekeeping job. I had set the "Automatically Purge Temporary Files" in the Privacy tab when setting up my laptop last month.
gnome-settings-daemon has decided to delete files in the /tmp directory (I can trigger this by clicking "Purge Temporary files" which then deletes my files in the /tmp directory). This does not happen in the previous gnome-settings-daemon. Anyway, I'll mark the thread SOLVED if my file in the /tmp directory survives the hour!

Integrating Flat File data to LDAP Directory using sunopsis driver

I need to import data from a csv file into a LDAP Directory.
In order to acheive this, i used Demo physical and logical File data server (called FILE_GENERIC) and set up a new LDAP data server using tutorial "Oracle Data Integrator Driver for LDAP - User's Manual".
I can manually see and update data on both file and LDAP datastores.
The fact is that i cannot manage to import/update data from the file to the LDAP directory through a dedicated interface.
The issue do, i think, come from the PK/FK used by sunopsis relational model to represent the directory.
LDAP DN is represented by a set of two table representing in my example the organizational units in one hand and the persons in the other hands, linking them through FK in persons to auto-generated PK in organization units. My person table also have a auto generated PK. All the directory datastore tables have been reversed through ODI.
In my interface, i always use my cn as update key.
I first tried not to map the person PK in the interface, letting the driver generating it for me (or mapping a null PK). I then catch in operator a message like: " null : java.sql.SQLException: Try to insert null into a non-nullable column".
Anyway, the first row is created in the directory and a new PK is given into ODI datastore. Curiously, this is not as i would presume the last PK value + 1.
There are some kinds of gaps in the ID sequences.
I even tried checking the "tolerated error" into the IKM step called "Insert new row". I'm using IKM shipped with ODI :"IKM SQL Incremental Update". The sequence is finished in operator but due, i guess, to the catched error, the other rows are not processed. (Anyway i shouldn't have to tolerate errors)
I tried after to put not used custom PK values into my file, then map the PK column to the LDAP datastore PK column without much success: Only one row is processed. Futhermore, the id of the PK in the datastore is different of the one I put in the file.
I finally tried to generate PK values through SQL instructions by creating new steps in the IKM modul but that did not worked much.
I really do not see any other ideas to either have the driver construct new PK at insert/update or to make him ignore the null PK problem and process all the rows.
If anyone do have an idea about it, please share...

I am facing an issue who is probably the same.
using ODI 10.1.3.5, I can't insert new rows into my openLDAP.
One of the point I see is that the execution take the LDAP server for staging area and want to create I$ table into it, so the data are already imported into the ldap Server.

FILE SENDER ADAPTER - TO GET A DINAMIC FILE NAME IN THE DIRECTORY

     Please help me.
     I have to read by a file sender adapter a specific file in the directory that its name is Dyyyymmdd, where yyyymmdd is variable according with the current day:
     D      - fixed letter
     yymmdd - year,month and day of the current day.
     I cant´t use D* in the File Name Scheme because I must read only the one file generated in the day.
     How can I configure my file sender adapter to read this especific file in the directory?

    I must access only one file by time ( of the current day ), but in the directory I have a lot of them of different dates. I mean, in the of the read ( in the adapter configuration ) , I need to configure the name of the file Dyyyymmdd before of the reading in the directory, in other words, I need to construct the name of file (withe the current date) before the communication channel access the file to read it.
    I think that OS command just can be applicated in file receivers, but if possible, at your purpose, how can I access the name of this especific file via OS command for senders?

How to read all files under a folder directory in FTP site

Hi Experts,
I use this SQL to read data from a file in FTP site. utl_file.fopen('ORALOAD', file_name,'r');
But this need to fixed file name in a directory. However, client generate output file with auto finename.
SO do we have any way to read all file by utl_file.fopen('ORALOAD', file_name,'r');
We need to read all file info. because client claim for security issue and does not to overwirte output file name,
we must find a way to read all file in output directory.

If you use Chris Poole's XUTL_FTL package, I believe that contains functions that allows you to query the directory contents.
