File 'kind' creation error

Every time an application creates its own preference file, it creates it as a "Microsoft Excel preferences" file. And the default application set to open these files is Excel. This is NOT for plist files. This is for the older format preference files that many applications still use.
On my other computer these files are created as "Preferences Document" and the default application to open them is <none>.
How do I reset this? Where is my computer "remembering" this setting and making every new 'Preference Document' into a 'Microsoft Excel preferences' file?

UPDATE:
I've tweaked this and that and even trashed launchservices prefs. After that, any new preference file created (again, not .plist files) are now created as Entourage files. This also occured after adding a .plist extension to an older style preference file and then removing that extension. At one point all of these files were showing as Microsoft Powerpoint files.
So strange.

Filestream Creation Unable to Open Physical File Operating System Error 259

I have run out of options supporting a customer that is having an error when creating a database with a file stream. The error displayed is unable to open physical file operating system error 259 (No more data is available). We're using a pretty
standard creation SQL script that we aren't having issues with other customers:

We are using SQL Server 2014 Express. File streams were enabled on the installation SQL Server. The instance was created successfully and we are able to connect to the database through SSMS. The user is using an encrypted Sophos.
We have tried the following:
1. Increasing the permissions of the SQL Server server to have full access to the folders.
2. Attempted a restore of a blank database and it failed.
There doesn't seem to be any knowledge base articles on this particular error and I am not sure what else I can do to resolve this. Thanks in advance for any help!

2)I don't think there is any problem with permissions on the folder, if the user can create a database in the same folder. Am not too sure. Also see the article by

Creation error of EJB

Hi!
I ran into the following problem when referencing the public parts of
an external j2ee library project stored in the NWDI. Specifically I would
like to reference an API part for having a correct build path during development.
Unfortunately I can create this reference but afterwards the NWDS tells
me that it requires to rebuild the ejb-jar.xml and the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml.
This automated refactoring leaves me with two 'empty' files, having all
my ejb definitions removed.
I tried to define new stateless ejbs by creating them via the context menu
and ran into the error 'Not able to create Session Bean'. In order to find out
what happened, I checked the .log file of the NWDS in my workspace folder
and found the following lines:

I resolved the problem myself by creating a new library project where I added
the libraries stepwise until building the referencing project failed. The library
project contains the hibernate framework which includes a file named jboss-j2ee.jar.
In some way or another this conflicts with the NWDS which leads to failures
when updating the ejb-jar.xml and ejb-j2ee-engine.xml files.

File Not Found Error running JSP demos

I'm not sure what is going on, but it appears that every time I try to run a jsp, the server looks in the document root where it errors out with a file not found error. I've seen others with this type of problem but I haven't seen a solution. Anyone have any ideas?

1: Double check the port number that your Tomcat Server is using. (TOMCAT_HOME/conf/server.xml).
2: check you IP. This is not the 'localhost' IP (not sure if it is LAN or real IP). So it may change dynamically.
3: Check for Firewalls. Also, since you are not using localhost, you will have to make sure you traverse all the firewalls built around your system. If you have a router (home), windows XP, or some other firewall, make sure the appropriate ports are opened. If you are behind a corporate firewall, or your ISP closes ports... your kinda out of luck until you find a way to cheat around them.
2: Try just using just "/ValidateUser.jsp" as long as it is one the same domain as the Form. This will make it less likely to break, should your IP change.

I have icloud and a new iPhone5 ! They work good , took pictures and a few short movies, plugged in my phone to my iMac transfered Items to iPhoto then inported items to iMovie. when getting to know what i was doing i decided to delete pictures and movies i no longer wanted. when i looked for a few missing items i opend Finder and there some where buyt i had already trashed them and deleted the doubles. Still could not find missing pictures and movies 3 items and today after calling yahoo about a different complant with sending feed back for Yahoo mail Applications login . i opened up Attachments Not the Large Attachments just Attachments and there were the 3 items i had been hunting for to Trash and delete. the mail Attachments file does not have the Option to delet Files and photos and movies. When i tried to Download the 3 items a window shows up that says Error While Downloading the Files, A Server Error has occured, please Try Again later. nothing works how do i remove the Trapped photo and movie Blank Files and trash them? Onece they get into my downloads i can do something with them as i understand. That part of it kind of keeps me in Question also because why should i have to down load my own files of Attachments / Pictures and movies if they are comming from my iMac? How much better is iLife11 then iPhoto08 and iMovie08 . Thanks Greg

Reading .txt file into char array, file not found error. (Basic IO)

Iv been having some trouble with reading characters from a text file into a char array. I havnt been learning io for very long but i think im getting the hang of it. Reading and writing raw bytes
and things like that. But i wanted to try using java.io.FileReader to read characters for a change and im having problems with file not found errors. here is the code.

The error is: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Kaylan\Documents\NetBeansProjects\Mr.Document\dist\Mr.DocumentReadMe.txt (The system cannot find the file specified)
The text file is saved in the projects dist folder. I have tried saving it elsewhere and get the same error with a different pathname.
I can use JFileChooser to get a file and read it into a char array with no problem, why doesnt it work when i specify the path manually in the code?

Well the file clearly isn't there. Maybe it has a .txt.txt extensionthat Windows is kindly hiding from you - check its Properties.
But:

In this scenario Source is XML and target is txt file.
I am using XSLT Mapping. The FCC works fine, if my source input file contains some records. But, when we send empty source XML file as below

Mapping works fine. Message is processed successfully in SXMB_MONI. The payload in response also comes with Message Type name like below

While convert this, the system throws below error.

Friend, how to convert this when source XML is empty.
But, if we remove JobTrack node in target strucutre and remove the JobTrack parameters in CC, then if we send the same empty XML file FCC is working fine and we get the target text file 0 KB. (Amazing !!)
But, in the first case, how to solve the issue?

But, if we give parameters like JobCode,JobTrack then send pass the same empty file, we face the problem 'File Content Conversion' Error.

OSB download 250 MG file results in error Error parsing XML: {err}FORG0005

Hi,
Using OSB 11.1.1.5. I have service to download files from Oracle ECM. Running into an issue where the file size is over 250 MB service is failing. Giving me an error
OSB Replace action failed updating variable "body": Error parsing XML: {err}FORG0005: expected exactly one item, got 0 items
I have service callout to get the binary content of the file and it's taking over 5 minutes and then this error. I also set Read Timeout and Connection Timeout to 20 seconds at the business service level
but looks like it's not taking that timeout values and still waiting over 5 minutes before it dies. My JTA Timeout is set to 12 minutes. After service callout I have a log to write the output but it's not even getting there and throwing that error above
How can I trap that kind of errors. How can I set timeout at service level i.e. if after 1 minute if the file is still downloading close the connection etc.
I don't want to have some many open threads in the back ground as this service is being called in a loop to download files. Smaller files like 30 MG downloads fine but the larger ones are not.
I have a error hndler at the root level but the error is not trapped there either. Looks like system errors are not getting trapped.
So Just wondering if OSB is suitable to download that huge files.

The reason for the error is the xquery is not able to find the values in the input... Check the input and namespaces...

Check If the Customer number(Plant) has been maintained in the vendor master record control data and the vendor should also be maintained in the customer master data. Once you maintain this system determines the shipping point based on the customer master and the shipping data missing. Kindly try delivering after maintaining these and let me know If you need any more information on this.

Wrong incarnation of this file - wrong creation SCN

We currently have a media recovery problem, and the problem seems not to get resolved.
System is Solaris 10 on a 64bits Sparc with 10.2.4 Oracle database.
Problem:
Can't recover from backup and archivelog fiiles.
We ran "alter database recover" and we got database altered and we open the database. But when query datafile table, the datafile (datafile 14) was still in recovered mode - I don't know how that happed.
Next, drop tablespace, inlucuding contents and added a new tablespace and the database opened again without error. But this time we still need the data from the old datafile.
We tried to add the old datafile to the tablespace, then we got "Wrong incarnation of this file - wrong creation SCN".
Where do we go from here?

Did you check to see if that datafile had been OFFLINE ? You could have attempted a RECOVER DATAFILE n and then ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE n ONLINE;Yes the datafile was offline
Given the situation you are in, you cannot add that tablespace back into the database.
So where do we start from here?
Your problem statement and the line "We ran "alter database recover"" aren't clear enough. Did you restore the database ? Or did you restore only a datafile ? OR did you not have to restore anything but just did a RECOVER DATABASE ?
This database does not have RMAN backup, ( the backup system is copy datafile to another folder) but we did a recover and the database recovered - as I said, we got "database alter" after we ran the recover command.

I've managed to get somewhere with this...
I've got it to work by having the system command I want to run in a com file and specifying the full path to that file in the exec method without the '@'...
e.g.
Process proc = Runtime.getRuntime.exec("ppoi_dev:[user.dba_ppoi.matt.proc]proc.com");
where the file
ppoi_dev:[user.dba_ppoi.matt.proc]proc.com
contains
$ dir
When I run this I can get the output from the dir command by reading from the InputStream of the Process object.

CUSTOM VIP CREATION ERROR

Hi all, i have tried to define a new VIP on my ORACLE 11gR2 RAC cluster, in order to manage third-party component by using ORACLE Clusterware.
I have used the info written on the ORACLE manual "Oracle Clusterware Administration and Deployment Guide E10717-04" at page 5-15.
I have executed the command "/u01/app/grid/bin/appvipcfg create -network=1 -ip=xx.xxx.xxx.140 -vipname=appsVIP -user=root", as the manual says, from root user.
My environment is AIX 6.1.

On Solaris 10 and Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 did the following. Posting this as it might be useful to someone else. Installed Grid Infrastructure as oracle.
As root:
# ${GRID_HOME}/bin/appvipcfg create -network=1 -ip=<vip_address> -vipname=<vip_name> -user=root
In the above command, if you are wondering what -network=1 is, got useful info from "Oracle GoldenGate high availability using Oracle Clusterware" white paper at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/goldengate/overview/ha-goldengate-whitepaper-128197.pdf
As per the white paper, if you do
crsctl status resource -p | egrep -i 'network|subnet' | egrep -i 'name|subnet'
output will look something like this:
NAME=ora.net1.network
USR_ORA_SUBNET=10.2.0.0
net1 in NAME indicates this is network 1, and second line indicates the subnet on which the vip will be created.
# ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl setperm resource <vip_name> -u user:oracle:r-x
I did the following as oracle:
Oracle_Prompt> ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl start resource <vip_name>
If you want to relocate this vip to other node in the cluster:
Oracle_Prompt> ${GRID_HOME}/bin/crsctl relocate resource <vip_name> -s <source_node> -n <target_node>

Install Error MAXDB(Evalution) for DB creation error.

I'd like install MAXDB (SAP MaxDB 7.6 for Windows -x86, 32 bit-), but coundn't do it, because of that such as flowing error message.
