File not found troubles...

Guys, I know this is an easy fix, but my big dumb head can't seem to see the error.
I'm simply trying to read a file, get data that i need, then write that data to another file. The problem I have is that it can't seem to find the file I want to read. I keeps saying, "Error: system can't find specified file", or something to that effect.
I'm using Netbeans (latest), and haven't set any specific classpath etc...
Isn't this correct?
File f = new File ("G:\\blah.txt");
FileReader in = new FileReader(f);
etc....
Shouldn't that find the text file on G drive? I shouldn't need to add G drive to my classpath, should I, if I explicitly state it??

LOL! Thanks MLRon. I didn't understand why you though you were barking up the wrong tree. hehe.. :-)
DOS problem!
My classpath is now:
classpath=F:\j2sdk1.4.2_08\lib;.;"G:\X\MyDocuments\Docs\RaphaelsEbayHelper\src\raphaelsebayhelper"
and I still get this error:

Still as stated above. Just won't find the file. Have no idea what's up...

  • "file not found" error in VI Logger when running an imported VI Logger task

    I'm having trouble getting all of my imported tasks to run in VI Logger.
    I'm using VI Logger 2.0, with an SCXI-1100.  The data acquisition tasks I import run fine.  One of the VI Logger tasks I've imported runs OK, but the other one gives an error:
    "Engine Error!
    Error Code = 7
    LabView: File not found.  The file may have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the OS."
    If I create a new VI Logger task, the new task works OK.  And my 1st VI Logger task to be imported works OK.  So I know my setup mostly works.  But our company has never been able to figure out importing tasks very well, so I'm looking for help.
    Question 1: What file is LabView looking for?  I've checked my Export path and database path, and they are identical in both the working task and the non-working task.
    Question 2: Where else might I look for the difference between the 2 VI Logger tasks?  Neither task uses any weird characters in the name, both have analog input channels and calculated channels.  And I've mixed and matched the data acquisition tasks with no change (the good VI Logger task will run with either data task, the bad VI Logger task won't run with either data task), so I'm pretty sure the problem is in the VI Logger task, and not the data task.  I've also tried importing the 2nd task on its own, as a separate import function, but that gave the same error.
    Thanks for the help in advance,
    Jake

    Hi Spex,
    I can import the VI Logger task OK (from another PC running VI Logger 2.0), but I can't run the task.  I've attached the file.  The "1 channel" task runs OK.  The "x-probe" task starts, takes 1 or 2 data points, then hangs for a few seconds, then pops up the "file not found" error. The data acquisition taks run OK, so I don't think they're the problem.
    This file I've attached includes 2 good data tasks ("1 channel" and xprobe"), 1 good VI Logger task ("1 channel"), and my non-working VI Logger task ("x-probe", which works fine on the PC it was exported from).
    I have also tried exporting the non-working VI Logger task on its own, and it still imports OK, but still doesn't run, and gives the same error.
    Thanks,
    Jake

  • OMF Error 139  ( mob file not found)

    Just in case anyone else encounters this problem... I've seen posts about it in the past, but I'm not sure it ever got answered. I got error 139 when trying to export an OMF from 7.2 - long story short, the problem turned out to be that I was trying to make an OMF that was bigger than 2gig. It was 2.01 gig. Apparently the old 2gig file size limit still applies to OMFs in Logic. I don't know why. The workaround was to split the song into 2 sets of audio files and make 2 OMFs. In response to earlier discussions of error 139, having 24-bit files was not a problem, nor was files from different volumes/locations.
    Also, this may have been suggested before, but if you are having trouble importing or exporting an OMF of a very long session, note that Logic has a limit on how long a song file can be, but that the limit is in BARS(2158 bars), not TIME, so you can always use a slower tempo (i.e. 50% or 25% of actual tempo if you want to maintain a relationship to the click) to make your session longer in time but not in bars. Maybe we won't need workarounds by the time Logic 8.0 comes out. But I'm not complaining, I think 7.2 is the best Logic ever and I've been using it since...um.. well, since Notator.

    hello folks,
    I have Windows XP home Firefox v1.0.6.
    removed old java in Add/Remove programs.
    cleared the "Temporary Internet Files" folder that contained C:\Documents and Settings\Greg\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5.
    tried to load jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p-iftw.exe for the third time, and the install still hangs up.
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update Installer Information : Error 1311. Scource file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\Greg\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\2XFKL4VY\je150000[1].cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

    here's the thing, I cannot surf to "Content.IE5" folder in my "Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" folder, but I can plug in the directory in the address bar of Windows Explorer & see the "Content.IE5" folder.
    I do not see "je150000[1].cab" or "je150000[1].cab" in there.
    Am I using the wrong program to fresh install Java for Firefox in XP?
    Is there something wrong with my operating system?

    thanx.

  • My iTunes wouldn't update and so I tried to reinstall the new version, my computer restarted and when I clicked on iTunes, it said file not found.

  • IPod cannot be synced. Required file not found?

    I havent had any trouble syncing my ipod until last week when i purchased a song. When i dragged the song to a playlist on my ipod, it appeared grey in my playlist (because it was still loading) and then disappeared. I repeated this until i gave up and I reported this as an issue to itunes. When i tried again it worked and i thought maybe the problem had fixed itself, but i tried to add a CD to my ipod a few days ago and it only synced half of the songs. Now when i try to sync the leftover songs an error box pops up saying "The iPod (name of ipod) cannot be synced. Required file not found."
    Some songs will sync perfectly normal, some load but disappear, some eventually just sync, and some won't sync at all. Has anyone had this problem/ can anyone help SOLVE it? please and thank you!!!

    Try this:
    Let your iPod charge up.
    Attempt to sync a large play list.
    When the iPod shuts down and you get the error message, quickly click through the dialog boxes on iTunes so when the iPod comes back up iTunes will attempt to sync again.
    When the sync starts again after the iPod reboot, click the little X in the bar that shows how many tracks have been loaded. This will stop the sync and you'll be able to eject your iPod.
    After it's been ejected, unplug the connector from the iPod and see what happens to the battery indicator. Mine goes down to almost gone and red - then after a few minutes it comes up to about 2/3 strength - but it should be full after being fully charged and just syncing a few hundred tracks.

  • File not found during installation (WinXP)

    Well, I downloaded Oracle 11g for Windows (32 bit) from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html, and, basically, after having had some trouble configuring a new database, I selected the option to (simply) install a database through the wizard. I breezed through the settings, and, ran the installation wizard, however, some files seem not to be available within \win32_11gR2_database_1of2\database, or perhaps my laptop (Amilo Pro 8210) is too slow to be able to read these files.
    The errors show up during Setting up Oracle Database 11g 11.2.0.10. The errors showing up within the UI are as follows:
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\db2gc
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oc4j\OC4J_DBConsole\config\system-application.xml
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\db_home_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4j_DBConsole\config\system-jazn-data.xml
    NOTE: It is quite painful that there is no functionality to enable me to upload attachments (e.g. screenshots and log files) because it is very time consuming to copy everything manually, and, it is human nature to get bored typing after a while, so please, Oracle, pimp this profile :~) I did not take exhaustive screenshots, the error log files shows quite a few exceptions as well:

  • "file not found" for most recordings on GB

    Hello,
    I've used GB to record podcasts over the past few months and each time something very troubling eventually happens: I open the file several weeks later and am told that the track onto which I recorded cannot be found.
    I tend to save my GB files on an external harddrive but given that I am new to the software, I haven't paid a lot of attention to where the program might save the media.
    The files that are missing are usually .aif files. I have done several searches in to try and find the missing files but with no luck. The GB files themselves are saved in the automatic My Garageband Files folder.
    I don't understand why the "file not found" issue only arises after a few weeks or months of not touching Garage Band. Any idea of how I can find these tracks? Or are they lost forever?
    Any help would be so appreciated.

    I'm a little confused by your question. You say you are saving GB files on an external drive, yet the GB files themselves are in your My GB Files folder. In any case, here are some things you can try:
    Moving forward, when you save to an external drive, select Save As and choose "Archive Project." That should keep all audio files with the project and may solve everything.
    If there is a GB file on your internal drive, double click on that and see if everything is fine (in other words, this assumes the same file is on your internal drive complete, and on an external drive incomplete).
    If there is a GB file on your internal drive, or anywhere for that matter, control click on it, select Show Package Contents, and look in the media folder. All your audio files should be in there (and therefore recoverable).
    If you are still having problems, try recording, saving, and working with your projects on your internal drive (and backing them up to an external drive in the Finder).

  • Reading .txt file into char array, file not found error. (Basic IO)

    Iv been having some trouble with reading characters from a text file into a char array. I havnt been learning io for very long but i think im getting the hang of it. Reading and writing raw bytes
    and things like that. But i wanted to try using java.io.FileReader to read characters for a change and im having problems with file not found errors. here is the code.
    try
    File theFile = new File("Mr.DocumentReadMe.txt");
    String path = theFile.getCanonicalPath();
    FileReader readMe = new FileReader(path);
    char buffer[] = new char[(int)theFile.length()];
    int readData = 0;
    while(readData != -1)
    readData = readMe.read(buffer);
    jEditorPane1.setText(String.valueOf(buffer));
    catch(Exception e)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, e,
    "Error!", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
    The error is: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Kaylan\Documents\NetBeansProjects\Mr.Document\dist\Mr.DocumentReadMe.txt (The system cannot find the file specified)
    The text file is saved in the projects dist folder. I have tried saving it elsewhere and get the same error with a different pathname.
    I can use JFileChooser to get a file and read it into a char array with no problem, why doesnt it work when i specify the path manually in the code?

    Well the file clearly isn't there. Maybe it has a .txt.txt extensionthat Windows is kindly hiding from you - check its Properties.
    But:
    String path = theFile.getCanonicalPath();
    FileReader readMe = new FileReader(path);You don't need all that. Just:
    FileReader readMe = new FileReader(theFile);And:
    char buffer[] = new char[(int)theFile.length()];You don't need a buffer the size of the file, this is bad practice. Use 8192 or whatever.
    while(readData != -1)
    readData = readMe.read(buffer);
    }That doesn't make sense. Read the data into the buffer and repeat until you get EOF? and do nothing with the contents of the buffer? The canonical read loop in Java goes like this:
    while ((count = in.read(buffer)) > 0)
      out.write(buffer, 0, count); // or do something else with buffer[0..count-1].
    jEditorPane1.setText(String.valueOf(buffer));Bzzt. That won't give you the content of 'buffer'. Use new String(buffer, 0, count) at least.

    I am creating a bunch of slideshow pages on my site. Unfortunately, after I publish the site, when I click on the individual thumbnails, I get a message saying "file not found," although all the correct files are indeed in proper folders.
    Here's where I think the trouble may be:
    To create the slideshow pages, I am dragging a photo album from the iPhoto media browser window onto one of my iWeb pages. I then choose one of the standard templates, and then I modify that template to match the rest of my site by using my own navigation and turning off the template's navigation. But, once I publish the page, files aren't found.
    Just for the heck of it, dragged a photo album onto my site, and published it using the standard iWeb template. All the files showed up. I then compared to code for this page with my previous pages and noticed my previous pages had the following extra code:
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '0');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '1');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '2');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '3');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '4');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '5');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '6');
    IMpreload('IBC '07 - Misc_files', 'shapeimage_2', '7');
    If I erase this code in my older files, everything displays properly.
    Does anyone know what is causing this code to appear? There have been a few instances where I have updated the pictures in the gallery after I've dragged it onto the page. Could that be it?

    It's because of the apostrophe in the page name. Get rid of it and things should work fine.

  • Public yum - wrong links - file not found

    Hi,
    I'm having some trouble with Oracle Linux 6.5 and the UEK3 kernel in VirtualBox, which might be due to hibernation, and wanted to try some older kernel, like UEK1 or UEK2, to see if I can reproduce the issue. More on the problem later. However, I can't even list or install any of the previous kernels.
    The first thing I was wondering about is that /etc/repos.d/public-yum-ol6.repo had some strange entries for the uek channels, which I have not seen before:
    enabled=$uek
    enabled=$uek3
    What is this?
    Anway, I connected to Oracle Public Yum Server to browse an download the latest repository, which no longer has these entries. It would still not list any kernels other than the 2.6.32 and 3.18.13. So I thought I check what's inside the repositories in a browser.
    I copy and paste the URL's shown in the repository configuration file into my web browser, such as:
    http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL6/UEK/latest
    and click on "x86_64", I receive:
    File not found."
    From what I can tell, the problem is, that link locations are incorrect,
    such as "x86_64" pointing to http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL6/UEK/x86_64/,
    which is missing "latest" in the path.
    But the strange thing is, if I click on "Parent Directory" and open "latest" and then "x86_64", it works.
    I think I have seen that issue before, several month ago, and the probelm, if I remember correctly, was with public yum.
    Thanks.

    Given the command you're running, yes it's normal. Yum is very weird with versioning of the same package name. If you want to see all the 2.6 kernels that are available:
    # yum list --showduplicates "kernel-uek-2.6*"
    Loaded plugins: changelog, fs-snapshot, protectbase, rhnplugin, security
    This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or Red Hat Satellite.

    Essentially, the --showduplicates parameter is the one you want for list.

  • What can i do when my Xcode project shows me That UIKit/UIKit.h file not found.

    When i going to run my Xcode project on my iPad i got an issue,it was UIKit/UIKit.h file not found. what can i do?

    Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
    Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
    If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
    Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
    (If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • 'Cordova / CDVViewController.h' file not found

    Good afternoon,
    I'm having trouble compiling a project using XCode Cordova. The following message is displayed:
    /Users/clicksoftclicksoft/Documents/projetos/40st-Ios/App40st/Classes/AppDelegat e.h:30:9: fatal error:
           'Cordova / CDVViewController.h' file not found
    #import <Cordova / CDVViewController.h>
    Can anyone help me?
    Big Hug.

    Hello Frank.
    The error is "xctest/xctest.h file not found". The thing is what when I crated the same project with the same code, it runs perfectly without the provided error. I tried to diagnosis but couldn't get success.
    For you kind information, Xcode is in the same folder that the xctest.m file is.
    Would you please provide me the steps to fix the provided error so that in future I can resolve it without asking you?
    With kind regards,
    Pratik Jajal

  • AS3 URL Request file not found

    Hi
    I just learned last night from Ned Murphy how to code a btn in AS3.
    Trouble is, when testing the Dreamweaver frameset website, site name: URLRequest on the C drive with my default browser F12, I get a problem loading the page / file not found.
    Here is the btn AS3 code.
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btn1Click);
    function btn1Click(evt:MouseEvent):void {
       var url:String = "C:\WebSites\FrameSets\URLRequest\mainFrame1.html";
       var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
       navigateToURL(req);
    Just for comparison here is the AS3 btn code Ned copy pasted to my Thread last night.
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btn1Click);
    function btn1Click(evt:MouseEvent):void {
       var url:String = "http://www.awebsite.com/awebpage.html";
       var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
       navigateToURL(req);
    What is it that is stopping my browser from directing to "C:\WebSites\FrameSets\URLRequest\mainFrame1.html";
    Is it the var url:String?
    Thanks for reading
    Sabby76

    Re Kglad Thank you
    I copy pasted the URL into a browser and it junked to: file:///C:/WebSites/FrameSets/URLRequest,mainFrame1.html I don't know what is the correct name for file:/// probably just the O.S directories proxy? Using the file:///  in the btns function out-works perfectly. Now the rest of the websites frame set extensions directories will not pull up after the index for example: file:///C:/WebSites/FrameSets/URLRequest/index.html/mainFrame2.html I think a re-thread in the DW forum will be the next step, any clues?
    Cheers
