File Stuck in hot folder

I have files always stuck in hot folder and doesnt go through to command work station, those files can't be deleted either until i restart server, is there any other way i can do to push the files through?

That really should not be happening. FFC will automatically remove files off the hot folder when it pulls the job.
Please escalate to the hotline so they can take a look.

Hot Folder to Force File Permissions?

I have a system wherein files are automatically pulled from an FTP, and are placed in a specific folder on our Mac Server running 10.5. The issue is that the files when pulled have their permission as "No access" to user everyone. Is it possible to create a hot folder that automatically changes everything put into as "Read Write" to user everyone?

Are you propagating POSIX permissions or ACL Permissions? if you're only propagating POSIX permissions it won't work and you'll soon end up back to only creator/owners of files and/or folders having read/write access and everyone else read only.
If you are propagating ACLs and you're having to do this regularly then there's something wrong elsewhere? It's a good idea not to share the volume but rather a folder within the volume. If ACL permissions are not propating properly or they are not sticking after propagation then un-share the share, rename the folder, create another folder named the same as it was before you renamed it and transfer the contents of the olf folder to the new onr. Re-share that new folder, add users or groups to the ACL Window, define appropriate permissions and re-propagate. This should now work without any further propagation.
If it's still not working I would start troubleshooting possible drive/directory issues. Use something like DiskWarrior or even Disk Utility. If the share(s) are on a non-boot volume then un-share the shares, do what you have to and re-share them again. Re-propagate afterwards. I can assure you this does work and works well but if there are underlying issues with either the Server Configuration (possible) or the drive/directory structure (more likeley) of the volume where the shares are stored you will see problems.

I'm trying to make a folder on my Mac that is a "Hot Folder." I want this folder to have an action/script that as soon as it sees a new file added it will open Fetch and upload via mirror to an FTP folder.
I was able to make the Fetch portion of the script without issue, but making the folder "Hot" is a bit more difficult for me. I tried to use some script from the sample script "add - new item alert" but have been unsuccessful. I'm hoping some of you Applescript pros can review this and tell me how to correct. Or perhaps you know of a better way to make this work with automator.

Well, the most obvious problem is:
if the item_count is greater than 1 then
If you drop a single file into the folder, nothing will happen. That's because item_count will be 1, not greater than 1.
If you don't care about how many files were dropped (because Transmit's mirror function will just synchronize the differences, then omit this line altogether - the script won't fire unless at least one file was added.

How do I find a corrupted file in a backup folder on my computer?

I have recently had to replace the battery in my iphone, but before doing so, I had backed up the phone about 3 times, all saying they were successful. And then I had erased the phone(before I realised the battery was the problem). However when I went back to restore from the backup, it says that it cannot be restored because the backup is corrupt. I read on one site that sometimes if a phone turns off or disconnects while backing, it might cause a corrupt file, and I think that's exactly what my phone did due to the battery issues. The big question is, is it only specific files inside the backup folder that are corrupt? And how do I find out which files they are? Please help.

This can be an issue on other end ( server end ) as export to HTML works fine so Muse is exporting the files correctly but while exporting to external server if it stuck then we should check on server side if there is any problem related to specific file upload.
As a workaround, you can use any FTP client and then upload the exported html files to root location.

Adobe Bridge Search Stuck On Current Folder

to start off, the adobe bridge search feature is loaded with glitches. sometimes it works great, other times not at all. well, today when i opened the program and tried to search for some files i found that for some reason i was only able to search in the current folder. all other options were gone and i could not uncheck the current folder option. does anyone know how to remedy this problem without a re-install?

thanks for replying, station_two. although i am certain this is a software issue, i will provide a brief rundown of my system. im running photoshop cc on win7 on a 6 core amd cpu with 16GB of RAM and an evga 650ti gpu. my specs exceed the requirements for the software. ive experienced several glitches with bridge over time and typically it always requires a re-install and its super annoying. prior to today, i had the ability to search my entire pc but now its "stuck" on current folder and that check mark cannot be unchecked. there are no error messages, the cameras used have nothing to do with this either. this is an apparent glitch with the software but im hoping someone may know a fix without a re-install. and yes, i already reset my bridge prefs to no avail.

Aperture Hot folder not importing after first picture?

I'm shooting a Leica X1 with aa Eye-Fi Pro card- I've set up everything correctly including the latest aperture Hot Folder. It worked fine a few times.
Now it's not importaing anything after the first JPG (and I'm shooting JPG+DNG Pairs). Someone else in the community had the EXACT same problem but just said they "solved" it without explanation.
Eye-Fi imports it into the folder, but the Hot Folder script doesn't automatically move it into Aperture. I've tried quitting and restarting both apps, and even reinstalling the hot folder app.
First, you've got to be kidding me that we are using such a rinky-**** script. If I paid $99 for a **** card that's only feature over the lesser model is that it works with RAW, why do they not integrate into Aperture natively? Why do they think that only iPhoto integration is enough? Who is using iPhoto with RAW files (I'm sure there are some but come on the majority will be using Aperture). Plus this script doesn't save information as basic as which folder is the hot folder or which Aperture project I want it going into. So every time I start up my computer I have to go through thr 5 or 6 step process of re-linking. COME ON.
Second, how do I fix the fact that it's NOT working? Right now I've got several pics in the hot folder and it's not importing them. Thanks.

It would appear that the majority of this post (the complaining parts) should be directed to the Eye-Fi people. None of this has anything to do with Aperture. Why they have never actually intergrated with Aperture is something you have to ask them.
As for the hot folder script, that script has been around since at least 2006 without change. It is possible that it might have problems wiht Lion as there have been some changes regarding scripting with Lion. The script, while a nice bit of AppleScripting was never a comercial product. It does what it does. Again your complaint about the workings of the script should be directed at the Eye-Fi folk as they recommend using it to use their card with Aperture.
One thing you can check is to make sure the script is attached to the folder you are importing the images into.

HT4864 Large file stuck in iCloud

I sent a file from my iPhone that is apparently too big for iCloud to handle and it is stuck in the outbox of my iPhone. I can not delete it. I tried and tried. Its been stuck about 6 hours now and it is drainking my battery. I also restarted my phone and it just comes back. Help

no. and honestly i dont remember now whether the files did indeed show up as a second file in the same folder or when i went to reopen the file it opened recovered and with 'recovered' in the file name... probably the latter. i'll recreate the crash when i get a chance
6 is creating larger files in general, tho maybe im overlooking a setting... I worked on an image in 6 and when saving i was informed it had to be a PSB, file size coming in at 3.73gb. yikes. I know this to be extravagant for this image. So, out of curiosity, i opened it in 5 and created a new same size doc, slid all the layers over and saved it as a PSD with no problem... see the screen catpture... same image, totally different file sizes. I have AutoSave turned off, max comp on.
All that said... it occured to me while writing this to try a Purge>All, in 5, on the bloated 6 psb... that allowed me to save it as a psd at a file size at a much more recognizable file size...

Opened a bogus email *.zip file from amazon that put two files in my downloads folder OSX 10.8

Can anyone advise my next steps to take, I accidentally opened a bogus email *.zip file attachment from 'Amazon" It unzipped an put two files in my downloads folder one appeared to be a *.exe file. They were deleted immediately along with the email.
Now I am terrified that there is something lurking on my system...trojan/ keylogger/ virus..
I am no expert so can anyone give me help!
My mac is 8 months old running OSX 10.8 with latest updates.

Normally I am red hot at intercepting bogus emails, not today it would appear!
I actually was in the process of deleting it and double clicked the file by complete accident, and in a flash it had opened up and put the files in the folder, I spent the rest of the afternoon panicing and reading all forums blogs etc..
Actually Thomas I found your blog and took some good tips from it, one of them was to switch java off immediately.

Can not log in due to file vault-protected home folder error

I´m posting this for a friend... apparently his kids were playing with the machine and now he can´t log in... this is what he gets:
YOUR FILE VAULT - PROTECTED HOME FOLDER NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. Options: Click OK to repair folder and continue logging in
When he clicks OK he gets "Unable to log in"
He is stuck at the log in screen and can´t continue.. please help.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), if it logs him in, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Files Stuck in DFS Replication Backlog

We have two Windows Server 2012 servers with several different replication groups configured to replicate different folder structures between them. One of these replication groups seems to have a permanent backlog of files stuck in the queue. the "dfsrdiag
backlog" command always shows 343 files waiting to replicate in one direction when run at the end of the day. The first 100 files are listed by the command and they are always the same files. When run during the day the dfsrdiag command shows the backlog
going up to several thousand (with the same first 100 files listed), but it always returns to 343. There is no backlog in the other direction. All other replication groups set up show no backlogs in either directions. There are no errors or warning in the
event logs to say DFS replication has stopped for that particular volume or that the files couldn't be replicated due to sharing violations. I have tried forcing replication and rebooting both servers.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get these files to replicate?

First please check if staging folder is large enough. A recommended size is 1.5x<size of your largest file in replication group>.

Delete file from an FTP folder

Hi expert,
I wanna know if it's possible delete with abap command a file from a FTP folder.
I mean, there is a ftp folder periodically filled with excel files. An ABAP program read this folder and the files content must be moved in a SAP Table. Aftre this, I must delete excel files with an abap command write in the same abap program.

You can temporarily hide the crap on your desktop. Edit the CreateDesktop key in com.apple.finder:

To change the screenshot capture location to a new place on your Mac, first think of a location that would serve you properly. We like to place ours in a "Screenshot" folder located inside of the User's "Pictures" folder. To change the location to this new location, open the Terminal and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/[u]/Pictures/Screenshots/
Replace "[u]" with the name of the user on your system. Once you have entered this command, let's restart the screen capture utility by restarting the SystemUIServer by entering the following command:
killall SystemUIServer
You can optionally log out and back in instead of entering this second command, thus restarting the SystemUIServer. Once restarted, all screen captures taken from here on out will end up in your /Pictures/Screenshots/ folder in the User's home folder on your Mac.
