File Upload Bug in ColdFusion 9

I have an application that allows users to upload files. Files lower than 200KB can be uploaded with no problem. Anything greater than 200KB will not push through. There is no error message but the application just hangs. Increased request timeout to 5 mins and Maximum Size of Post Data to 10MB but issue still persist.
This application worked without issues in CF8.

My first thought was the limit of post data in the cf admin (at the bottom of the Server Settings section), but that can only be set to MB not KB, so that is probbly not the issue, but I will suggest you check it any way.
When you state that it worked well on CF8, You mean that :
1. The SAME server had CF-8 on it and you upgraded to 9 ?
2. You moved the application that was on a CF8 server to a CF9 server ?
Just trying to get as much info as possible to try and help you out ...
Posting a link (if possible) will be greate as well ....

  • File Upload using Flex/ColdFusion.  2044 error

    I am looking for a little more clarity around the file upload using Flex and Cold Fusion.  When I run this using my server I get Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
    I did create a regular cfform and had it use my ColdFusion upload form and that worked fine, so I feel good about the upload form. I am starting to think there is a permission error with the Flash Player writing to the folder.  When this is ran, it will show the file being 100% loaded but the complete event is never triggered.  I put alerts to see where it hits and 100 does show at the same time as my error message.  The complete alert never shows.  I also put an alert in my cfm page and it never reaches that page to hit it.  Whether I use an absolute URL or relative path. I have also tried the urlrequestmethod.post and nothing changed.  Thanks in advance.  BTW.  I am using Flex 3.

  • Irritating bugs in file upload component !!

    Bug 1
    During a postback operation the text (file path name) in the file upload component is cleared ! When a resubmit of a form is required, the user has to re-browse the file again.
    Bug 2
    The processValueChandge() method is never called when the value in the file upload component is changed (and the mouse is clicked outside the component).
    Any suggestions or workarounds are very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    I can't answer to Bug 1. That is, I don't have any solutions. If you want to submit this, go to http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/support/index.html and look at the section titled Bug Report /Feature Request
    Bug 2
    The processValueChandge() method is never called when
    the value in the file upload component is changed
    (and the mouse is clicked outside the component).This is not a bug.
    processValueChange methods are server side methods and do not get called until the page is submitted to the server. Clicking outside the component will not cause the page to get submitted. If you want a client-side action (such as when focus is lost) then you can add some JavaScript.
    The file upload does not have a process value change method, it is an action method and thus has a uploadFileButton_action method. This method gets called when the upload button is clicked.

  • Bug? WWV_FLOW_FILES: After File upload FLOW_ID = 0

    Hi all,
    I'm working on a DEVenabled -Environment with APEX 3.1.2.
    Problem
    While redesigning an Application I have somke strange behaviour on File Upload:
    The application uses a custom auth scheme.
    In my application an uploaded file should be moved to a user defined BlobStorage and be deleted from APEX_FILES afterwards.
    This does not work any more:
    When uploading a file to APEX_FILES using the upload-element from an application no further processing is possible.
    What is loaded ?
    On wwv_flow_files the FLOW_ID is recorded as 0 and not as the ID of that Application Files have been loaded from.The Attribute 'created_by' contains APEX_PUBLIC_USER where the User logged in is needed.
    As it is APEX INTERNAL stuff, which seems not to work as expected, i need some help.
    How to fix this ?
    regards
    Franz

    Mark,
    what is the workaround for this?I don't understand what you need a workaround for. No workaround was given for any actual or perceived problems discussed here so far. I proposed that the proper steps are to upload to, copy from, and then remove from the public table.
    I started having this problem, where the flow_id and security_id are now coming up as 0You started having it at a point where you were not having it previously? That isn't very clear. You are implying that flow_id was non-zero at some point, I think.
    If security_group_id is 0 then this isn't the same situation as we've been discussing in this thread. Please explain exactly what you're doing and show all related code.

  • How can I make Firefox 4's "File Upload" window start in the same directory across all sites?

    I upload webcomic image files to multiple sites every day--the same file to multiple sites--through the "File Upload" window that comes up in Firefox when you click on a site's "Browse..." file request field.
    In Firefox 3 (under Windows XP), when I used Firefox's "File Upload" window to upload files, the "File Upload" window would come up showing the last directory from which I'd uploaded anything to ANY site.
    In Firefox 4, on the other hand, the "File Upload" window comes up showing the last directory from which I last uploaded to that specific domain.
    I'd like to know if there's an about:config setting--I couldn't find one when searching for "file," "upload," or "dir"--to revert to the Firefox 3 behavior. The reason is that now in Firefox 4, because I typically upload two files to four different web sites per day--one file to all four sites, then later in the day, a second file to all four sites--I have to switch from the first upload directory to the second upload directory in each of the four "File Upload" windows for the second file, whereas in Firefox 3 I only had to do that once. Here's how it used to go:
    In Firefox 3:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    and here's how it goes under Firefox 4:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    So basically, where under Firefox 3 I only had to browse through my directories twice per day to upload two files to four sites, under Firefox 4, I have to browse through my directories eight times per day to accomplish the same thing.

    You can use the Remember Password bookmarklet: <br />
    https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password <br /> ''Has worked for me when I have needed it to save a password on a web site that used autocomplete=off.'' As far as the Bug that '''cor-el''' linked, I can't remember ever running across a website that did it like that.
    Or, you can use the Saved Password Editor extension, which includes a means of manually adding Username/Passwords to Firefox. <br />

  • File upload java errors...HEEELPPP!

    All was working fine for months, now getting java errors in my ADDT. Mostly related to file uploads, or image uploads. I found that I don't get these errors in older sites that I've worked with, but I've created a new site and started from scratch and I'm still getting them.
    Here are the errors and what I'm doing:
    *I go insert record form wizard (in ADDT)
    *One field is a date, others are text, one is an integer, one is a file field
    That works ok up to here.
    *Then I choose ADDT > File upload. I get the following error immediately: "While executing canApplyserverBehavior in kb_FileUpload.htm, a javascript error occured."
    *I click ok, the wizard box attempts to load and it give me the error: "While executing onLoad in kb_FileUpload.htm, the following javascript errors occured:
    At line 354 of the file "Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Dreamweaver CS3:Configuration:Shared:DeveloperToolbox:classes:triggerUtil.js":
    TypeError: hash[transactionColumn[k]].push is not a fuction.
    I'm totally tearing my hair out, not to mention not hitting deadlines with this... can anyone help. I've tried removing the fileCache, rebuilding the site cache, removing and rebuilding the includes folder, removing and reinstalling ADDT. HEEEEEELLLLLPPP.

    Hi
    Please look into this about the destination
    Pathname of directory in which to upload the file. If not an
    absolute path (starting a with a drive letter and a colon, or a
    forward or backward slash), it is relative to the ColdFusion
    temporary directory, which is returned by the GetTempDirectory
    function.

  • APEX 3.1.2 Static File Upload Issues

    We are still running on APEX 3.1.2 though we hope to go to 4 very soon.
    We had a production problem this past week that is perplexing. I have seen other posts referencing similar issues but no solutions.
    We have an application that has several Static File Javascripts (.js). We already ran into the IE Upload bug so we only upload in Mozilla now.
    We had changes to one of the .js files (identity.js). I deleted the old file using the Shared Components screen and uploaded the new one. The action was "Successful" but the file was still the old version. We deleted a file of 73 lines of code and uploaded a new version of 28 lines. After successful upload, we still would get the 73 line version . The app was still getting that version too.
    I deleted it many times and tried again. I ran scripts to do both the delete and upload. I even deleted the file manually from the FLOWS_FILES table that held it. Still got the old version.
    We bounced the server (thinking it was cached somewhere) - still got the old version. Finally, in desperation, I started cloning the app to another app number in another Workspace. Since we use aliases, I thought I could use a clean Workspace and uplad the new file there. This worked but - suddenly the old Workspace started using the correct file.
    Is ther some secret cache somewhere that needs to be cleared out? I did not want to start randomly clearing out caches and there is no documentation on this issue.
    Is it something about our config - we have Oracle HTTP Server, OC4J, and modplsql for this environment with a 10g database.
    Any insight would be appreciated - my manager does not like "it fixed itself magically".

    We ruled out the browser caching by trying the app on several other people's PCs.
    I am thinking it is being cached somewhere in the APEX server environment but cannot find any documentation on where or what that might be.
    I think I might have triggered a refresh when I was trying to implement a cloned version (in a different Workspace). It seems that the scope of a JS file is within its Workspace so we figured that a new Workspace would treat the changed file as a new file - and it did. During this process, we had duplicate ALIAS for a minute and I think that confused the APEX App Engine and triggered the refresh.
    But that is a SWAG opinion.
    I also thought of "versioning" the JS files but our developers are not too keen. If we don't find another solution, that may be what we have to do.

  • File Upload / Download - Advice Required

    Hi all,
    This is really just a general question, looking for advice.
    I have downloaded and successfully used the File Upload PJC for Forms 6i - thanks Oracle.
    We are looking to use this to download and upload files from or to the client machine, and I am (relatively) confident of reversing the Java components to allow this to happen.
    However, we are actually looking to transfer the files from the client machine, to the 9iAS Tier and then to the UNIX (AIX) tier where the database (8.1.7.4) resides - and vice versa.
    I have considered a couple of different approaches :
    1. Run the Java Server component in the Database JVM to enable the writing/reading of files on the UNIX filesystem.
    2. Use TEXT_IO on the 9iAS tier, and UTL_FILE on the Database Tier, to move files between the two tiers.
    3. Write the files to / from the Database, and then from/to there into the UNIX filesystem.
    Does anyone have any expereince of attempting to implement a similar solution, or information on Oracle documentation explaining any of the above.
    Plus, I'm sure I must be missing a trick !
    Any other ideas ??
    Regards
    Marc Ludwig

    We have build a similar solution,
    for the download:
    we use the pl/sql gateway to send the file to the client with the following function:
    wpg_docload.download_File(lob_loc);
    you could build a pl/sql procedure that accepts an id and selects the blob locater and
    triggers this function. the procedure can be called by setting the configuration in your DAD correctly.
    that way its easier then rebuilding the whole fileupload utility.
    in the webforms you can have a code that opens a new window with an url you give.
    the url will point to the pl/sql function and you can pass the id of the record you want to get the blob from.
    for the upload to your database:
    well, we chose to loose the zip functionality and modify the pl/sql library that comes with it.
    instead of using the uploadserver class, you could build a pl/sql function in the database that
    accepts the varchar32 strings (which are base64encoded chunks of your file) and appends them to a blob.
    the function that could do that would look like:
    PROCEDURE APPEND_DATA(P_ID IN NUMBER, P_DATA IN VARCHAR2) IS
    bin_data blob;
    append_data blob;
    raw_data raw(16384);
    BEGIN
    dbms_lob.CREATETEMPORARY(append_data,true);
    dbms_lob.OPEN(append_data,DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
    select binary_data into bin_data from ibs_physical_doc where id=P_ID for update;
    raw_data:= utl_encode.BASE64_DECODE(utl_raw.CAST_TO_RAW(p_data));
    dbms_lob.write(append_data, utl_raw.LENGTH(raw_data),1,raw_data);
    dbms_lob.APPEND(bin_data,append_data);
    dbms_lob.CLOSE(append_data);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    you can increase the chunksize a bit more.
    you still have a problem btw that you probably cant upload more then 4-8 mb before you get an out of memory error on the client.
    you could solve that by rewriting the client java file to send the file piece by piece on request by the server instead of all the pieces after eachother, and first read a piece of the file and then encode that piece and then send it instead of reading the whole file, encoding it and sending the chunks.
    Another option is to use the standard upload possibilties with web pl/sql, and open a new browser window to that window from forms. A drawback of that is that it is not integrated in the web forms program and that you cant see when the upload is finished (no callback). and that you are bound to the default table layout.
    one final thing, if you are going to use this, you might want to take a look at using JInitiator 1.3.1.9 if you arent using it already this automaticly sets the signature in the clients database if he accepts it. there is a bug in it, look for it somewhere in this forum. if you are using the sample that comes with forms 6i you will have to replace the fileuploadprogressbar with the one that comes with the forms 9i sample and recompile everything and i think you will have to use JDK1.3.1_03 for that. that means that you will have to modify the make batch file. the command for compiling is different, the classpath is an option when you call javac, also you will have to sign it with jarsigner.exe (in the jdk) instead of the one in the example.
    Hope this info is helpfull, if you like to have more specific code, mail me at [email protected]

  • Cmd+v doesn't paste in the file upload dialogue's search field in Safari

    In Safari 4.0.4 on OS X 10.6.2, cmd+v doesn't paste in the file upload dialogue's search field in Safari. It just makes an audio beep to indicate an error.
    Using a sample file uploader:
    1.) Visit http://upload.youtube.com/myvideosupload
    2.) Click the "Upload Video" button.
    3.) Select file(s) to upload to s.ytimg.com
    4.) Click on the search text field
    *5.) Cmd+V to paste text. Nothing happens.*
    However, if you right-click, "Paste" is not grayed out, and you can paste normally.
    This is for version 4.0.4, but this behavior has been present for as long as I can remember using Safari.
    Can anyone confirm this bug?

    HI,
    I can't confirm a bug but you can report it.
    From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Report Bugs to Apple.

  • File Upload PJC questions

    File Upload PJC
    I have installed the File Upload PJC demo & got it working.
    We are using Forms 6i patch 8 with servlet configuration, iAS 1.0.2.2.1 on Win 2000, Oracle 8.173
    We want to upload/download files to the server & save them as BFILES in the database. I think I am on the right track but have some questions:
    What do I have to change in the PJC to increase the memory so I can upload a file > 4 MB? We will be uploading some large files. I'd also like to ability to select multiple files to upload. I don't know much about Java programming but will learn if this is the best way to accomplish this.
    I want to upgrade to Forms patch 12. I understand that it uses Jinitiator 1.3 & that it will popup a dialog when it sees a new signed Jar file & will automatically import the certificate if the user decides to trust it - but I read on the Technet forum there is a bug 2483719 - does this work with patch 12?
    We also want to use the Native JVM for IE (when it will work with XP - is this patch 13?). What do we have to change if we create a signed CAB file?
    We also need the reverse to download a file to the client - WITHOUT using web.show_document - since this does not always prompt you with a save dialog box & tries to open the file in the browser.
    Any ideas will be helpful - thanks.

    Laura,
    these are many questions in one post and I try to answer it as good as I can
    We want to upload/download files to the server & save them as BFILES in the database. I think I am on the right track but have some questions:
    What do I have to change in the PJC to increase the memory so I can upload a file > 4 MB? We will be uploading some large files.
    As far as I know there is no restriction to the size of the file uploaded to the server. There exist a recommendation of to which size this bean has been tested. Due to the implementation of the Bean there are defined chunk sizes for the data passed, but this does not limit the size of a downloaded file.
    I'd also like to ability to select multiple files to upload. I don't know much about Java programming but will learn if this is the best way to accomplish this.
    Actually you will have to change the code then. First you need to set a porperty on the file dialog allowing the selection of multiple files. Next you will have to handle multiple files in the bean code. Yes, without Java you will not get there.
    want to upgrade to Forms patch 12. I understand that it uses Jinitiator 1.3 & that it will popup a dialog when it sees a new signed Jar file & will automatically import the
    certificate if the user decides to trust it - but I read on the Technet forum there is a bug 2483719 - does this work with patch 12?
    The problem is that you use a different (custom) signature for the upload bean, after modifying it, that requires the user to first grant it permissions. The bug means that this currently cannot be handled with Jinitiator 1.3.x. The work around is explained in a Whitepaper on OTN about signing Java Bean in Forms (Forms9i collateral section). There is no dependency to teh Forms patch you use, but to Jinitiator. So yes, teh work around will work there.
    We also want to use the Native JVM for IE (when it will work with XP - is this patch 13?).
    Possibly. That's the target patch.
    What do we have to change if we create a signed CAB file?
    You'll have to use the Microsoft SDK and refer to their documentation on how to create and use signed cab files. Shoudl be no big difference though.
    We also need the reverse to download a file to the client - WITHOUT using web.show_document - since this does not always prompt you with a save dialog box & tries to
    open the file in the browser.
    This is a problems with files that the Browser has a MIME type map for. If you download a file with the .gif extension, then this is a known MIME type configured in the HTTP Server. Therefore the Browser recognizes that the downloaded stream is a gif file and tries to render it. You can work around it by making sure that the downloaded file extension is not knwon by the HTTP server (Mime type application/word).

  • Apache Bridge HTTP POST problems on large file upload

    I have a problem uploading files larger than quarter a mega, the jsp

  • File Uploads using stored procedures

    Hello, I'm quite new here, but I have a question that I've been butting my head against for the past day. Here goes.
    We need to upload a file using a stored procedure (PL/SQL procedure.)
    The two things I have found that work are
    1) Having oracle do the file handling (using bfiles) in the procedure
    2) using an insert statement directly to upload the file contents into a blob.
    The platform is php (Oracle instant client) and I will show some code examples.
    1) is unworkable because Oracle will not have direct access to any files.
    2) is fine, but we would prefer to use a procedure so as to abstract what exactly goes on and possibly other operations away from the php and the framework.
    What worked:
    1)
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE php_upload_file (file_name in varchar2, canonical_name in varchar2, owner in number, file_id IN OUT number)
    AS
    src_loc bfile:= bfilename('DOC_LOC',php_upload_file.file_name);
    dest_loc BLOB;
    begin
    insert into files values(owner,canonical_name,empty_blob(),files_seq.nextval) returning files.data, files.file_id
    into dest_loc, file_id;
    dbms_lob.open(src_loc,DBMS_LOB.LOB_READONLY);
    DBMS_LOB.OPEN(dest_loc, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
    DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE(
    dest_lob => dest_loc
    ,src_lob => src_loc
    ,amount => DBMS_LOB.getLength(src_loc));
    DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(dest_loc);
    DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(src_loc);
    COMMIT;
    end;
    'DOC_LOC' is a directory I've set up that the user has access to.
    Interfacing with PHP this just looks like
    oci_parse($conn,"BEGIN php_upload_file('{$uploadfilename}','{$propername}',{$ownerid},:file_id); END;");
    Dead simple, right?
    I also do a bind command to pull out 'file_id' so I know the id that was just inserted.
    The other solution is
    $contents = file_get_contents($_FILES["uploadedfile"]["tmp_name"]);
    $lob = oci_new_descriptor($conn, OCI_D_LOB);
    $stmt = oci_parse($conn,
    "INSERT INTO files (employee_id, filename, data, file_id) VALUES(175,'"
    .$_FILES["uploadedfile"]["name"].
    "', empty_blob(), files_seq.nextval) RETURNING file_id, files.data INTO :file_id, :src_contents");
    where :src_contents is binded to a lob and :file_id as before is binded to an INT:
    oci_bind_by_name($stmt, ':src_contents', $lob, -1, OCI_B_BLOB);
    oci_bind_by_name($stmt, ':file_id', $insert_id, -1, SQLT_INT);
    oci_execute($stmt,OCI_DEFAULT);
    In this case the last thing I do before the commit is
    $lob->save($contents);
    Both work fine, but what I need is this
    $contents = file_get_contents($_FILES["uploadedfile"]["tmp_name"]);
    $lob = oci_new_descriptor($conn, OCI_D_LOB);
    $stmt = oci_parse($conn,"BEGIN do_upload_file(:src_contents,'{$propername}',{$ownerid},:file_id); END;");
    oci_bind_by_name($stmt, ':src_contents', $lob, -1, OCI_B_BLOB);
    oci_bind_by_name($stmt, ':file_id', $insert_id, -1, SQLT_INT);
    oci_execute($stmt,OCI_DEFAULT);
    $lob->save($contents);
    oci_commit($conn);
    this omits error conditions (such as on $lob->save ... etc.) it is simplified.
    The content of the procedure I changed as follows, but it seems untestable.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE do_upload_file (src_contents IN OUT blob, canonical_name in varchar2, owner in number, file_id IN OUT number)
    AS
    dest_loc BLOB;
    begin
    insert into files values(owner,canonical_name,empty_blob(),files_seq.nextval) returning files.data, files.file_id
    into dest_loc, file_id;
    dbms_lob.open(src_contents,DBMS_LOB.LOB_READONLY);
    DBMS_LOB.OPEN(dest_loc, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
    DBMS_LOB.COPY(dest_lob => dest_loc,
    src_lob => src_contents
    ,amount => DBMS_LOB.getLength(src_contents));
    DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(dest_loc);
    DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(src_contents);
    COMMIT;
    end;
    I don't get errors because I cannot figure out a way to run this procedure in my PL/SQL environment with valid data. (I can run it with a blank blob.)
    But when I work out the order of what's going on, it doesn't make sense; the commit in the procedure is before the $lob->save(...) and thus it would never save the data... nonetheless it should at least create a record with an empty blob but it does not. What is wrong is beyond the error level that seems to be supported by PHP's oci_error function (unless I have not discovered how to turn all errors on?)
    In any case I think the logic is wrong here, but I'm not experienced enough to figure out how.
    To test it I would need to create a driver that loads an external file into a blob, and passes that blob into the procedure. Trouble is, even if I make a blob and initialize it with empty_blob() it treats it as an invalid blob for the purposes of the dbms_lob.copy procedure.
    If someone has solved this problem, please let me know. I would love to be able to do the file upload with just a single procedure.

    Thanks. In my estimation that is exactly the issue. But that doesn't help with a resolution.
    The actual file size: 945,991 bytes
