FileInputStream read bytes how to get String

This prints the bytes of contents....
if i wan to get the contents of text.out(still using FileInputStream )
in string, how do i go it

If you know it's a textfile, the recommend way to read it is using a FileReader instead of a FileInputStream. If you wrap the FileReader in a BufferedReader, you can also easily read it line by line (the lines are returned as Strings).

As far as I know, a text file has no columns. Please be more specific. Do you mean something like the 5th word on line 4, where words are separated by a space, and lines are separated by a newline character? You could the Read from Spreadsheet String function and set the delimiter to a space. This will produce a 2D array of strings. Then use index array and give the line number and column number.

You have needs to use a static variable or somehow pass an instance reference, through a list or array or some such thing, perhaps through the constructor. Or think up some other jazz, like adding a method "public String getMyStinkin'String" ;~)

How to get string which is return from a method and method is called from a filter

Can anyone please guide me how i will get a string on a template, this string value is return by method which is called through 'ValidateStandered' filter.
My problem is when i CheckIn a document, i am implementing some validation of duplicated document and duplicated document is identified by some metadata value.
if metadata value of CheckIn document(current document) is same with existing document then filter will return ddocname and ddoctitle of existing document on a template(user can see the ddocname of existing item).

How to get String after Certain Number of particular characters

I want to get character after certain numbers's of particular character.
For example following is String
String testString = "||A|||B||D|R|T|||TEST|||||"
I want to get "TEST" which is after 12 "|"
How can I manupulate String to give me characters after 12 "|"
I will appreciate any help.

Loop over the string, looking at each char with charAt(itn index).
Compare each char to '|'.
If it matches, increment the counter.
If the counter is 12, then take the substring from your current position in the string to the end.

I'm facing problem. When i requested a page (url+querystring). On requested page when i tried to get the parameter using getParameter() it didn't return me the complete string i supposed to get. e.g
str = "Product # 2"; // the one i send to requested page
what i got is : Product // the part "# 2" was missing.
Note : I tried to encode but when i passed it to javascript it didn't parse #.

As String is immutable and we know that the value of string is not changable.
eg: String abc= new String();
abc = "INDIA";
system.out.println("1st abc : "+abc);
abc=abc.toLowerCase();
system.out.println("2nd abc : "+abc);
As we know as string is immutable the value for the 2nd abc gives us india.As 2nd abc creates a new instance object stores in new memory location.
Then y string is called immutable.It means the value is getting changed.
Is their a way to retrive my original value or first assigned value for abc i.e INDIA.

Just connect the response element to an Invoke Node and select the ToString() method for the StringBuilder class.
