Files for Adobe Reader Cause Crash

Every time I try to open a file for adobe reader, whether I get it embedded in my browser or download it from the internet either Safari crashes or Adobe Reader application crashes no matter what it is. I switched to firefox because Safari kept unexpectedly quitting constantly and it was becoming so frequent that I couldn't even do anything. Any advice on how to get the adobe reader plugin for safari to work(which i did install)? Or how to get any files to work? My friend has this same problem on her iBook, too.

Hello David:
First, I would trash the Safari preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart. Then I would uninstall the current Adobe reader you have installed (get all of it) and then download the latest version from the Adobe web site. FWIW, I have no trouble at all with either safari or reading PDF files.

Problem opening PDF files for Adobe Reader.
I installed the latest adobe reader for my Mac. Everything is set up. Every time i go to open a pdf file, this shows up...
"Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch adobe reader and accept the End User Licence Agreement, then quit and relaunch the browser."
I installed it through the adobe reader website for free. And even though it says 'by clicking "install now" you are agreeing to accept the user licence agreement terms and conditions' it still says i need to accept the T&C's.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and same thing over and over again.
    Can someone help!?!?!
Please contact me via email direct ASAP at....

Did you actually try doing what the message suggests?  Open Adobe Reader and accept the EULA?

  • Is the installation file for adobe reader, the same for all the versions of windows ? Is it ?

    Hello,
I want to know if the installation file for adobe reader is it the same for all the windows ?
It is because I have to do an automatic installation for XP, seven and windows 8...
It is also the same between 32bits and 64bits ?
    Thanks.
    Best regards
    Sofia Luna

It may be worth mentioning two things.
    1. Adobe provide extensive information on Enterprise Deployment of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
    2. You may well need a redistribution license to do this, if you are installing on behalf of anyone (accepting EULA for them), pushing, or hosting etc.

  • What is the latest downloadable version for Adobe Reader 11.0.08 or 11.0.09?

What is the latest downloadable version for Adobe Reader 11.0.08 or 11.0.09?  I saw the 11.0.09 download last Thursday 9/18/14 but no longer seeing it today 9/22/14, just the 11.0.08.  Also, after I have downloaded and expanded AdbeRdr11008_en_US.exe, I am getting AcroReader.msi that is posted date on 9/23/2012.  I need to customize the MSI file using the Adobe Customization Wizard XI for our corporate environment.  Can you direct me on where to download the latest MSI file for Adobe Reader?  Thanks.

The latest MSI made available by Adobe is AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi
You can get the 11.0.09 EXE from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.09/en_US/AdbeRdr11009_en_US.exe

  • Full install file of adobe reader

Where can I download the full install file for adobe reader for a offline computer I have at work

Here you go ---> Adobe - Adobe Reader Distribution

  • Page is not available for adobe reader deployment

I have an approved software distribution request to access download installation files for Adobe Reader, but the link that was sent to me http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/deployment.html does not work.

I don't know that link (and certainly not the one hiding under your link).
You can download the EXE installers from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If you need the MSI installer, get it from the Adobe FTP site ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/ (which for some reason I cannot access right now).

  • Opening .pdf files with Adobe Reader?

    Hello everyone
I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) and was using Adobe Reader 10 X but found I was unable to read my older .pdf files by double-clicking them as the wrong program's icon was linked to them. No problem I thought so I right clicked on a .pdf file and tried using the open with but the 2 programs listed in the default were both wrong and not Adobe Reader plus the 16 alternates underneath, none of which were reader either. No matter I thought so I used browse and sent myself to C:\Program Files (x86)\AdobeReader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe and pressed ok but it still didn't enter the list! Weird.
Spent some hours trying to find a solution by searching a popular search engine (yes the G one lol) and I managed to find a couple mentioning fiddling around with the registery which I was hesitant about but eventually did and now the only difference is that the 2 default programs previously listed had now gone but the other 16 are still there (still none for Adobe Reader!) and still browsing/adding doesn't work.
I have now just about reached the stage where I'm ready to pull my hair out in frustration. Can anyone help/advise with this please? I don't understand it at all. I have now gone back and am currently using Reader 9.4.3, although it still won't show up on the "open with" list etc.
One last thing and this is strange (to me at least) but if I open Adobe Reader and then use its "open" feature to open one of the same aforementioned .pdf files, it opens it just fine. It's when trying to open the file(s) directly by double clicking them or using open or open with that's causing the problem.
    Thank you in anticipation
    Nick

    You can try the following:
right click on the item you want to open.
Then select open with: then select default program.
Then you browse to your new Adobe Reader executable, and set the always use this program checkbox.
    should do the trick.
    Regards,
    Mas

  • IE8 + Adobe Reader XI crashes

    Hi,
We are having outgoing issues with Internet Explorer 8 (8.0.7601.18487) and Adobe Reader XI (11.0.6.70).
Each time users open a PDF file via Internet explorer and close tab or whole Internet explorer application IE crashes.
Below you can find error window:
And this is how it looks in Event log:
Faulting application name: iexplore.exe, version: 8.0.7601.18487, time stamp: 0x5385a4c5

Because of different application used in organization we cannot change pdf open behavior to Adobe Reader application itself. Sometimes PDF files have to be opened in IE (Display PDF in browser).

    Hi Pat,
Unfortunately update didn't help at all.
Please find same error for latest version:

  • How do I stop Adobe Reader from crashing on my unprivileged user?

I am running Windows 7 and I needed to create an unprivileged user on my computer. When I open a PDF file, it almost instantly crashes (I can view the document for about three seconds). If I simply open Adobe Reader without a PDF and click Edit -> Preferences, it crashes. If I open a PDF in any browser, it crashes.
From what I have been able to surmise, it seems that Adobe Reader is trying to read the registry of my privileged user. I have tried uninstalling Adobe Reader, temporarily giving privileges to my unprivileged user, installing Adobe Reader on that user, and then remove the permissions, but the crash still occurs. The only way to stop Adobe Reader from crashing is to start the program as an administrator or change the account type to administrator. How do I stop Adobe Reader from crashing on my unprivileged user?

It said "Adobe Reader has stopped working" soon after I opened it, but I was still able to scroll down the document. It was only once I pressed Close Program that it stopped working.
Upon trying it a second time, it immediately stopped letting me scroll down when the program crashed. Here is the error log, I receive the exact same exception code every time:
