Find Objects based on access times
Hi
Is there a way in oracle to find the objects that are accessed based on the time. i have not enabled the auditing on my database and don't want to enable auditing.
some who is it possible to find from the dictionary.

Eviction of objects based on aging time and not cache size

Ii am using a coherence cluster ( extend) and wish to implement an aviction policy for each object inserted into the cache.
From the docs i have read i understand customized eviction policies are ALL size based and not time based ( mean eviction is triggered when cache is full and not when cache object aging time reached ).

Finder crashes trying to access Time Capsule drive
Hi.
I have just set up a Time Capsule 2TB. Time Machine also seems to be working fine - it's backing up right now. However, in Finder, if I click on the new Time Capsule drive that has just been added, Finder crashes. This happens every time I click it.
This creates a crash report. This is it - it's long... Anybody have any input on this..?

Finding objects that use certain colors in the palette
My document has RGB colors imported from the Word document. I'd like to be able to find the objects that are colored with these imported colors. Is there a way to sort and find objects based on color?
That's a little tricky. How do you prove a negative, as it were? You can do an object-based find/change, but only for for things you define, so for example you acan find all objects that DO have a certain color fill, but it won't find anything that doesn't match the criteria.
It might be possible to script a solutuion that would step through all objects and compare them to a list of criteria, then list the ones that don't match. -
How to find keyword object based on name
I have a CSV file with file name and keywords.

These keywords already exist in Lightroom.
Sample: Europe->Netherlands->Amsterdam
I understand that with photo:addKeyword ( keyword object) I can add keywords to photos.
How can I find the keyword object in Lightroom.
For the example, how can I find the keyword object of Amsterdam.Thank you John!, I was afraid that that would be the only solution.
Imho the API of keywords should be extended with a function / method to retrieve all keywords objects based on the name description. I will make the suggestion apart.
It is possible to find all photo object when supplying the name, like catalog:findPhotos and catalog:findPhotoByPath. Similar functions for keywords would be great.

I'm trying to use the find command to find files by access time. According to the manual, the -atime parameter will accept a qualified numerical parameter - that is, "-atime -1h30m" should find files whose last access was less than 1 hour and 30 minutes from the time the find command was run.
However, while experimenting with this I've run into problems. I created a test file "foo" whose last access time is now about 13 hours ago, yet the command "find . -atime -1m" which I think should find files accessed less than a minute ago will return the file "foo". I've used the stat command to check the atime for the file and it does report it's much more than a minute ago.

Yeah, that's different than my versions. Maybe it was added for 10.5.
Edit: Since the older version treats a positive value as last accessed n*24 hours ago, maybe the minus sign is inverting the meaning? Just a guess.

A direct approach for this might be to create a powershell script that is executed periodically using a scheduled task.
Here is a quick sample that you can safely test:
$Files = Get-ChildItem -file -Path 'C:\Windows\Temp'
$oldFiles = $Files | ? {$_.LastAccessTime -gt (Get-Date).AddDays(-10)} | Sort FullName | select FullName, LastAccessTime
$oldFiles | % {Remove-Item -Path $_.fullName -WhatIf}
This will look in the Windows/Temp location for any files older then 10 days. Then it will remove them (if you remove the -WhatIf parameter at the end).
Another option, if you are targeting a file server, you might want to use File server management tasks.

As an addendum to this, I thought I'd add this in also: If you have two valid DateTime objects you might consider using a class which I put together a few years ago
shown on a page of my website here.
To use it, just instantiate with two DateTime objects (order doesn't matter, it'll figure it out) and you'll then have access to the public properties. For this example, I'm just showing the .ToString method:

app server. I am writing a daemon that will read thru the active
session list and check to the last activity time. Based on this and a
similar list I get from the other app server, I will "ping" the oldest
session to keep it up to date. The result is that the sessions will not
time out prematurely.

I want ot sort files in a folder based on the Creation time, not the modified time.
We can get the creation time with dir /tc DOS command.
Now i want to capture the output and sort it based on creation time. How i do it.Please explain with code.

configured the
security access control list (SACL) on the object that you are auditing or you have configured the SACL, but not for all the listed accesses.

Can I find an iphoto events in time machine
Using a macbook pro with Lion 10.7 how can I find an iphoto event in time machine hard drive back up. When I look in picture folder for a back up date I see some individual pictures and an icon for iphoto library. I thought clicking on that would show me iphoto application with the events just as it looks in current time only with the events of the past date. It does not.
Not really - you need to restore the iPhoto library then open it with iPhoto - iPhoto can not access TM backups - they have to be restored first

Problem with 2 View Objects based on One Entity -Probably a Bug in ADF BC

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3(SU5) and adf faces and ADF BC and to explain my problem I use HR schema.
First, I created 2 view objects based on countries table named as TestView1 and TestView2. I set TestView1 query where clause to region_id=1 and TestView2 query where clause to region_id!=1 in the view object editor and then I created 2 separated form on these 2 view objects by dragging and dropping from data control palette.
Now when I insert a record in the form based on TestView1 with region_id set to 1 and commit the record and go to the next form I can see the record in the second form which is completely wrong since it is against the where clause statement of the second form.
I am really confused and the situation is very wired and it seems to me something like bug in adf bc.Am I right.Is there any work around or solution for solving this problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Reading your helpful comments now I have some questions:
1- I have commited the record in the database so shouldn't the query of view objects be re-queried?
2- We try to use ClearVOCaches (entity_name,false) in afterCommit of the base entity object but unfortunately it does not work correctly. after that,We got root app module and used findViewObject method to find all the view of that entity (we have found them by using name not automaticlly) and called executeQuery of all views. From my point of view it has 2 big disadvantages. First suppose that this entity is an important entity and 4 or 5 viow objects are based on it. Now, For inserting one record we should re-execute 4 or 5 view which I think makes some performance issues. Besides, If during the development one programmer add a new view object based on this entity and don't add the executeQuery in the afterCommit for this view, again we have the same problem. Isn't there at least a way that automatically refresh all related view objects however the performance issue still exists.
3- You mentioned that this issue is handled in the developer guide. Could you kindly give me a refrence which developer guide you mean and which section I should read to overcome this problem.(I have ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developer's Guide , however I search for clearVOCaches and surprisingly nothing was found!!!)
4- Could you please give me some hints that from your point of view what is the best method to solve this problem with minimum performance effect.
Any comment would be of some great help.

Access Time Machine Backup from a different computer

I have recently had to put my Macbook in for repair and have been told it will be about a month before I get it back. My wife has a Macbook of her own, so I using that for the time being to continue working on my MA essays due in the next two weeks. My problem is that I dutifully did a complete backup of my files through Time Machine before sending my own Macbook away, only to find I cannot access the files on my wife's computer!
I realise this is completely my fault, but the files in the Time Machine backup represent months of work and I desperately need access to them! I have tried accessing the backups via Time Machine, and when this failed I went through Finder to the Backup folder on my external hard drive, only to find a little no entry sign next to the relevant folders. You should post this with something to do with "Access privileges" in the title so the right people read it - those who don't use Time Machine probably won't bother with this thread. You were right to try a direct-access route through the Finder, because you can drag Time Machine files directly when you need to. I don't know enough about permissions to help you with the permission thing; it might be as simple as setting up an account on your wife's machine that has the same username and password as your own machine.
But note (in regard to the Jeremy's post) that if you do get a new logic board - yes, he's right, you'll have a different MAC address, which means you can't continue on with your TM backups. But you can't change the MAC address on the logic board; instead, there's a nice, geeky way to change the Time Machine backups record of what MAC address they were married to. I have an imac 20-inch Late 2006 model on OSX 10.7.4 running iphoto 11, somehow the application ccleaner has deleted my photos from my iphoto library. I have time machine but the iphoto library file is missing when I access time machine.
To restore photos I have followed the steps below
Quit iPhoto.
Connect your Time Machine drive.
In the Finder, open the folder containing your iPhoto Library. Unless you've moved your iPhoto Library, it can be found in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library.
Enter Time Machine. (Time Machine can be found in the Dock or in the /Applications folder.)
Choose your desired backup. The timeline on the right side of the screen displays a purple tick mark for each of the backups stored on your Time Machine drive.
Select the iPhoto library you would like to restore, and click the Restore button.
I dont get the option in step 6 as I dont have an iphoto library file to choose? Does anyone know why?Hi Barry
Thanks but as mentioned all is intact, even at step 3 I can see the current library in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library which has no photos, but when I access time machine any point before the NOW option the iphoto library in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library is missing from the finder window.

Startup problem - OS seems to be missing
I restarted my computer this morning and reset the PRAM on startup. When the computer restarted it behaved as though it was new - asked for language then went into OS X Utilities. What went wrong? I use Time Machine' so I do have a backup.
