Find the current sql which is running against database
Hi,
How to find out the current sql which is running against database?
Hi,
You can use V$SESSION_LONG_OPS and V$SQL to get the long running(6 seconds or above) queries. You need to join these two views to get the SQL text.
V$SESSION_LONGOPS : Will give you the long running SQL ID.
V$SQL : Will give you the text of query against the SQL ID.

Dear All,
My testing engineers are checking the application from front end, i have to find the current SQL (What SQL queries are used in the application) statements in the back end.
Please let me know how to find the current executing SQL stements.
Thanks in advance
MahiYou need to join this query with one more table - v$sqlstats. There are many statistics in particular cpu_time, elapsed_time etc stored in that table for each sql statement.
You can join v$sqlstats by sql_id until you have multiple child cursors for single statement.
Or you can just join to v$sql and get statistics from there and in this latter case you include child_number column to distinguish child cursors from each other.

For the running jobs ( the ones in flight right now..)
if you used the scheduler
select owner , job_name , running_instance, session_id from all_scheduler_running_jobs
order by owner , job_name
If you used dbms_job ( you really should the scheduler ...)
select job, instance, sid from dba_jobs_running
order by instance, job

[RESOLVED] "Unable to find the current servlet" error
Hi,
I had a couple of ADF applications deployed to the application server, and running. I was working on adding security to a new one, and started getting the following error whenever I tried to access one of my pages after deployment:
javax.servlet.ServletException: JAAS-OC4J: JAZNFilter.doFilter - unable to find the current servlet (full trace from the application.log below)
I initially assumed it was a problem with the new application, but when I tried to access the older ones, which had been working, I found I get the same error. I've spoken to the app server administrator, who assures me nothing has been changed in the OC4J/J2EE area.
I'm also getting the following error in server.log, but not at exactly the same time as the application log error, so I'm not sure it's related:
07/11/12 17:00:05 Internal error raised trying to instantiate web-application

CdGNever mind, please ignore this entire post. I've been trying to figure out how to add security based on the JDeveloper help and some forum posts, and I'd unknowingly configured an ADF Security filter in the middle of my otherwise container-managed security. If I delete that, everything 'miraculously' starts working again.
Sorry to have wasted your time. -
The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS.
I am currently trying to upgrade to SQL 2014, I am using a separate UAT domain to perform the upgrade before applying the upgrade to Dev domain. I can install a clean instance of SQL 2014 DBE and MDS on the same server, create a new database and point
IIS to it and it works fine. When I backup and restore the database to another upgraded or clean install instance on another server I get the following.
The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS.
It is enterprise edition of SQL 2014 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
Any ideas of how I can fix this ?Hi Neoafter,
Firstly, please note, Master Data Service(MDS) is only available in the following editions of SQL Server 2014:
Enterprise
Business Intelligence
Developer
Secondly, let me explain you how SQL Server check whether the SKU is supporte for MDS.
MDS object model(where the application host) get the connection string(from the web application request)
Extract instance name from the connection string. If the connection string only has server name, the instance is the default one "MSSQSERVER"
Call Sqlboot to check whether MDS is enabled in the specified instance
So, there may have some possible causes for the error you posted:
The connection string points to a instance that is not existing
The specified instance is not a SQL Server 2014 instance
The MDS application is upgraded to 2014, however the SQL Server service is still in a low version in the same machine
The corresponding solution is:
Ensure the server, which is running MDS application, has SQL Server 2014 installed
Ensure the instance is existing, and it is 2014 version
Ensure it is a right edition of course
Anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks,

Issue in finding the current row
I am rendering rows of a VO using an iterator component. One of the component I am rendering is a declarative component created by me.
In this component there is a clickable link on which i can write any method to achieve desired functionality.
Since, iterator is used so the current row is set to the last row. Now on clicking the link in the declarative component i need to do some operation based on the current row (pk of that row). So, how to find the current row id?
Note: If it would be a simple adf component like a commandLink i could have inserted a setServerListener inside it and could have put the id in to requestScope to access it. But as this is the declarative component in which i cannot create a serverListener so I am looking for some other solution.Hi john,
My table have the selection listener.

HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION?
HI ALL,
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING DAILY AT 5.00 PM. I NEED TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN FOR COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN RESTART IT AGAIN.
cAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PROCEDURE TO STOP THE ENTIRE PROCESS CHAIN RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION.
THANKS
HARITHAHi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
For Rescheduling
RSPC> chain > Goto > Planning view and
click on Execution tab > select > Remove from Schedule and then in Maintain variant of start process reschedule for the day you require it to run.
For terminating active chain
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.

How to find the backend SQL query of the JSP page in OIC
Does anybody how the best way to find the backend SQL QUERY of OIV JSP page?
How To Generate Trace Files in in HTML/JSP (using Profile Option)
Note: This requires proper responsibility to set SQL Initialization statement using Profile option.
Step 1. Login to the desired Form application.
Step 2. Select +Profile >> System ('Find System Profile Values' screen will pop up)
Step 3. Check 'User' and Type in the Username (in which the account for that user will be trace)
Step 4. Type 'Initialization%' in the Profile box and Hit 'Find' (Click here for preview.)
Step 5. In the User box, type the following statement and Hit 'Save' (Click here for preview)
BEGIN FND_CTL.FND_SESS_CTL('','','TRUE','TRUE','','ALTER SESSION SET TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER = TESTING MAX_DUMP_FILE_SIZE = 5000000 EVENTS ='||''''||' 10046 TRACE NAME CONTEXT FOREVER, LEVEL 12'||'''');END;
Note: specify any name you like to identify your trace, in this case, testing is the end name on the trace. You can also specify the amount of data allowable to be in the trace, in this case, 5000000 is the amount set. Make sure you hit 'Save' afterwards.[Quotes in the statement are all 'Single' quotes.]
specifying TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER value is mandatory when setting up the trace using the above profile option value
Step 6. Login to HTML / JSP page with username/password and start your flow. (Everything you do once login to HTML / JSP will get trace.)
Step 7. Logout of HTML / JSP application once you completed with your flow.
Step 8. Go back to the Profile option in the Form application and delete the Initialization SQL statement, and Hit 'Save'.
Step 9. Log in to the database server or login server and retrieve your trace file.
Identify and retrieve the trace file using the tracefile_identifier specified in Step 5.
In this case the tracefile_identifier is TESTING. (Click here for Trace file locations) *
Note: If you need to regenerate your trace or tracing a new flow, then repeat Step 1 to Step 8. To avoid self-confusion, choose a different name for your trace identifier everytime you set to trace.
Step 10. See TKPROF section on how to format trace file into readable text.
Trace Options Definition
No Trace Tracing is not activated
Activities will not get traced.
Regular Trace
(Level 1) Contains SQL, execution statistics, and execution plan.
Provides execution path, row counts as well as produces smallest flat file.
Trace with Binds
(Level 4) Regular Trace plus value supplied to SQL statement via local variables.
Trace with Waits
(Level 8) Regular Trace plus database operation timings that the SQL waited to have done in order to complete, i.e. disk access.
Trace with Binds and Waits
(Level 12) Regular trace with both waits and binds information.
Contains the most complete information and will produce the largest trace file.

Where your backups are stored
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then press Return.
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, then choose Run. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then click OK.

A number of repots run each month on my database. When they run - performance of the database to users slows down dramatically. How can I find the offending SQL?
You can use Enterprise Manager (Top Sessions)
to determine the offending sql statement. You can also for example, when the slow down is occuring, you could check the data dictionary view 'v$session_long_ops' to determine the offending query (You can join it to the view v$session to figure out the offending user).
