Finding interlace value for RAID-0

To setup stripe in the Solaris Volume Manager, we need to define an "interlace value." How do I determine this value?

For most applications the default value of 16Kb should be sufficient . To tune your stripe for better performance you can adjust this number based on your Disk access profile and average I/O size.
Your "access profile" is how you're accessing disk-- either random I/O (OLTP, webserver, most DB access etc.) or sequential I/O (Disk backups, or DB Full table scans).
If you're tuning for Random I/O, which is more common, then you should size you interlace above your average I/O size.
If you're tuning for Sequential access, you should size your interlace for with the formula:
<Average I/O Size> / <Number of Disks>

Any way to find parameter value for a report?

Is there any way parameter value of a report can be found? The following code doesn't return parameter value but returns name.

Find Attibute Value for Section That Scores High in Text Index

I have a table that contains xml documents in an xmltype column. These xml's contain customer information. An xml may contain info for only one customer while another xml can contain info for multiple customers. I also have a context index on these xml's. What I am trying to do is allow the user to search for a customer through the full text index and display the customer name results back to the user along with a score. This works fine for xml's that contain a single customer because I can use extractvalue to pull out the customer name for each xml. But when I have an xml with multiple customers, I need to know the value of the id attribute in the customer tag so that I can extractvalue for that single customer. To me this sounds like it would have to be done during the scoring process so that I know which customer within that xml scored highest, but I am unsure. I'm sure someone else has run into this requirement so any help is appreciated.

1) I thought a context index is the same as a full text index. Could you explain the differences? What is an XMLIndex? We might be talking about the same thing :)

I am storing the xml in an xmltype column. I am then building a full text index on this column. I am currently testing between the different section group types to see which one provides the best performance.
3) Here is an example that should be helpfull. This isn't my actual xml, but is should represent my problem:

How portal finds the vale for the sap-language parameter for iView

In the portal one of the ABAP WebDynpro iView is getting displayed in German. The reason for that is the sap-language parameter is being passed as DE. All other iViews in the system are passing the sap-language parameter is as en.
In our system the Logon Language property is blank for the all the iViews. Could you tell me why one specific iView the sap-language is being passed as a DE?

I just tried it as per your suggestion but I found for non-cancelled items konv-kbert is not equal to the net value taken from vbap-netwr. So I wonder if knov-kbert is the right original net value for those cancelled items.

How to find out profile optoins value for user from database?

I have PA debug enabled for a particular user in my ebusiness suite environment. I need to find out for what user is it enabled.
FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS shows that its enabled for user and responsibility level. But I am not able to find out for which user/responsibility is it enabled, as this only shows flags.
Can someone please tell me what table/view I need to check for that.

I had an requirement to store Spanish character and also need to fileter the records based on the Spanish character.
Kindly guide me for below.

To get the ASCII Values for the particular column?
E.g. we can find out the ASCII value of 'a' by using the syntax select ASCII('a') from dual.
But I want to find the ASCII Values for the particular column value. Ie. name.
E.g., Client name is "Suresh", I want to the ASCII Values for entire name of "Suresh".
Kindly do the needful help / Guidance on this.

To expand on what I said in my first post, you want to do something along these lines:

6 rows selected.Note that the WITH statement is only there to simulate a table for this example. With a table, all you do is get rid of the with and substitute the name "t" for the name of your table (also the name of the column to whatever name the column has in your table).
Lastly, I suggest you post your question along with, an example table and the output you'd like to get in the PL/SQL forum. There are people there that will give you all kinds of great ways of solving that problem.

well these notes work but they're prerequisites that have bothered me and unabled me to fulfill our requirement, for instance, having the material number in the drilldown and so on in order to perform the calculation during query execution.
I believe there is not much more alternative if you still want to calculate valuations accurately at SLOC or any other stock indicator during query execution...
I started from the basic fact that valuation of material underneath the plant/valuation area (in my case 1 PLANT = 1 VALAREA).; precisely because all movements doens't carry all information as per the note explanation.
So what we have done is to pull a cube with all Article/Sites MAP values; this can be done in several ways; MBEW/MBEWH are holding MAP values per fiscal periods; it has sufficient for us until now: our operations are asking to track MAP values more frequently.... So I am investigating how to work this out and have several alternatives:
- MSEG has additional fields (available in the extract structures) like Total Stock Qty/Value PRIOR the posting. There is as well an indicator telling if the posting is relevant for the valuation (if it is going to affect the Qty/MAP or not). So it is possible to get the MAP after the posting for each material movement.
- Create a change pointer on MBEW/MBEWH.
- MKPF has two convenient fields (CPUDATE and CPUTIM) from which we could build our own delta extractor tracking MAP changes
In BW the Idea is to have a cube registering the Article/Plant valuation in time (non-cumulative) and then fulfill our queries via a multicube...

The transformation ratio are the attributes of a "Winding Group". Find winding group of a device and then you'll get the desired information.

I am trying to upload the translation for one of the page at responsibility level.
I am getting following warning when running the below command.

The same is working fine if the translation is for some attribute at site or function level.

I am sure you would have verified the responsibility id in the target instance is 51688(may be source instance your resp id is 51688 and in target it is different).
