Finding text element?

hi experts,
               i have a need to pull a horizontal line one step down in ascript.but as i am on dev please let me know how to find the line in the text element of the main window where the line items are displayed.

In the main window, whereever you need the space Give the format as / and do not give anything in that and next you can select your own format and can code.
Thanks,
Srinivas

    how to pass selection screen parameters in text elements?

    don't you mean he other way around. Assign text-elements (selection texts) to select options?
    This you do in the menu where you can find text-elements, selection texts.
    menu Goto->text elements->selection texts.

    This is how you retrieve all the text fields in the reort:
    ReportObjects reportObjects = (ITextObject) oReportClientDocument.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().getReportObjectsByKind(ReportObjectKind.text);
    for(int i=0; i< reportObjects.size();i++)
    ITextObject textObject = (ITextObject)reportObjects.get(i);
    // use ReportObjectController to modify the text object.
    If you want to modify the contents of the text element, you can do it as follows:
    TextObject oTextObject = new TextObject();
    Paragraphs oParagraphs = new Paragraphs();
    Paragraph oParagraph = new Paragraph();
    ParagraphElements oParagraphElements = new ParagraphElements();
    ParagraphTextElement oParagraphTextElement = new ParagraphTextElement();
    oParagraphTextElement.setText("This is the new text field");
    oParagraphTextElement.setKind(ParagraphElementKind.text);
    oReportClientDocument.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().modify(textObject, oTextObject);
    oReportClientDocument.save();

  • Dump error when clicked on text elements in SAP Script window

    Hi All,
    There is an inclusion in SAP Script. I have written the code in driver program. I need to pass the value to SAP Script in the requested position. But when I go to SE71 > Form Name > Change or Display > MAIN Window > Text Elements > I get a dump error.
    Category               ABAP Programming Error
    Runtime Errors         DATA_LENGTH_TOO_LARGE
    Except.                CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS
    ABAP Program           SAPLSTXK
    Application Component  BC-SRV-SCR
    Date and Time          30.04.2014 20:00:08
    Short text
         Invalid partial field access: Length is too large
    What happened?
         Error in the ABAP Application Program
         The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXK" had to be terminated because it has
         come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
         Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
         To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
         administrator.
         Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
         at and manage termination messages, and you can also
         keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
         An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
         The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS', was not
          caught in
         procedure "TOKEN_COMMENT" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
         Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
         exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
        The reason for the exception is:
        In the executed program "SAPLSTXK", the system attempted to access the field
        "ITF_TOKEN" of the type "C" and with the length 255 using the length 272.
        However, a partial field access with a length specification that is
        larger than the field length is not allowed.
    How to correct the error
        Reduce the length used to access the field.
        If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
        find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
        If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "DATA_LENGTH_TOO_LARGE" "CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS"
        "SAPLSTXK" or "LSTXKFRN"
        "TOKEN_COMMENT"
        If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
        notification to SAP, include the following information:
        1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
           To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        2. Corresponding system log
           Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
           Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
        after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File

  • Text elements and key figures with multiple restrictions

    Hi,
    I'd like to display text elements in my query according to the restricted key figures in it. There is a restricted key figure used multiple times with different base of restriction. (For exmple Sales in the past week and yesterday.)
    KF restricted by <i>actual calendar week</i>,  and
    KF restricted by <i>actual calendar day</i>
    When displaying text elements, only calendar week appears, however, if KF restricted by calendar week is removed from the query, calendar day is being displayed. (I suppose that both time characteristics are taken as filter values.)
    Is that possible to display both filter values at once? Or at least calendar day meanwhile still having the week-based restriction in the query?
    Thanx in advance,
    Gabor

    One option would be to not use the *MVAL keyword and load the amount and quantity in separate Data Manager package imports wherby you can easily assign the NA to the appropriate dimension.  When you import amount -- assign NA to P_UNIT and when you import quantity -- assign NA to P_CURRENCY.
    However I suppose you would prefer to have one import process. Unfortunately I think you will have to find an ABAP custom solution by calling the END_Routine BADI from the transformation file to deal with the currency and unit dimensions.

  • TEXT ELEMENTS - Where are they saved???

    Hi!!!
    I have a question for you.
    I have a text string and I need to find in which program is used. I tried with those Z programs that search in the code, but I didn't find anythig.
    I think that that text might be in a text element.
    So, the question is:
    Where or how I can see the reports text elements. I don't know the report name, so I need to look through all those texts to find my string.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Text Elements in TCode IW32

    Hii Friends....
       I am currently working for a smartform where i want to fetch text elements from IW32 .In IW32 the user enters texts in every components or materials .My requirement is to fetch those text. I tried it using READ_TEXT_ELEMENTS function module but could not fetch it..
      Can anyone know any other alternative to fetch the data.
    Regards,
    Sany.

    Use FM READ_TEXT to read texts.
    Text Name       020100000004100000001(client order, item)
    Language        EN
    Text ID         AVOT Transaction text
    Text object     AUFK       Order text
    You can find more about text id and text object by selecting the text button. Now in the sap script editor choose the GoTo Menu button on top and select header. A popup has all the details which can be used in the READ_TEXT FM.

  • Text element with line item content and include text

    Hi All,
    How to write in smartform in single text element with line item content and include text.I am using this text element in table . Pls help me out. i am writing the include command in text element ,but this command is not enough for single line of text editor.

    I have been pulling my hair out for a few days trying to find
    this solution. This fixed my problems as well.
    I was getting ready to scrap the Report Builder altogether
    and move to SQL Server Reporting Services over this issue.
    I'm running 7.0.2 also, that version alone fixed many small
    issues like creating borders and such.

  • Find text in pdf

    I need to develop a plugin that search for some text into the document, then when I found a particular string I need to examine the page where the text is found, and I need to export all the page as TIFF and also exporting all text in a text file.
    I suppose that I use the PD Layer. Anyone can give me a brief list of the function I have to use?
    Alk.

    The PDE layer is not recommended for finding text because
    * it is not broken into words
    * it may not be in reading order
    * there is no encoding conversion
    This means that you will only sometimes find text based on a simple
    scan of PDEText elements.
    In reading about AVConversion realise that there are two things being
    documented.
    1. How a plug-in can provide new formats for conversion to or from
    PDF. You do not want this.
    2. How a plug-in can use an existing AVConversion handler to convert
    to or from PDF. This is what you want.

  • Purpose of text element in scripts

    1. What is the purpose of text element in scripts. When do we use it ?
    2. Is text element window specific or only pertaning to main window ?

    Hi,
    text elements control the output of all data in sapscript forms windows.
    A text element starts with /E in the format column (switch to 'old' non-visual tect-editor to see) and has a name in the text line.
    The print program will fill the variables used as &symbols& in sapacript and then call the function WRITE_FORM for the element.
    In the main window, elements can be called repeatedly to output table-like data - usually the text elements are called something like ITEM_LINE then.
    Every window has a so-called default text element that has no name and is triggered without function call when the window is displayed. The default text element is the first one in the window. It is not preceded by /E. In other words: What you find on top of the window, before the first /E text element, is the default text element and is output without WRITE_FORM function call.
    It is quite well explained in documentation

  • How the text elements of the SMARTFORMS can generate a field?

    Hello guys
          I have got this problem of not getting the value of the fields from the smartform. i wrote the text element to populate the field by inserting as the following &IV_BID_HEADER-PROCESS_TYPE& first it comes with the shaded background but after i activate the smartform  the shaded part will gone and it remain as &IV_BID_HEADER-PROCESS_TYPE&  which basically cannot populate any value.
    can anyone help me on this,to keep the field remain shaded at the background which basicallly can populate the values of the fields.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Please click on "FIELD LIST on/off" or ctrlshiftf4 and then drag and drop the same from the left bar.
    First find whether you have declared the value in Global Variables OR in Import/Export Interfaces.
    Hope this was helpful.
