Finding the currently executed SQL statement

Hi,
We have some users who have submitted some SQL statements which have been running for a very long time.
Please let me know how to find out the SQL which is being currently being executed and also is it possible to find an estimated time of completion for the statement.

Dear All,
My testing engineers are checking the application from front end, i have to find the current SQL (What SQL queries are used in the application) statements in the back end.
Please let me know how to find the current executing SQL stements.

You need to join this query with one more table - v$sqlstats. There are many statistics in particular cpu_time, elapsed_time etc stored in that table for each sql statement.
You can join v$sqlstats by sql_id until you have multiple child cursors for single statement.
Or you can just join to v$sql and get statistics from there and in this latter case you include child_number column to distinguish child cursors from each other.

As you know when taking snapshot oracle will capture only top sql statements and stored in AWR.
But can you please link(source) dba_hist_sqltext contain only 1 out of 10 filtered data?. In dba_hist_active_sess_history yes it contain 1 out of 10 sampled data.

How to identify the current running sql statement in procedure or package? From the v$sqlarea, i can see the only procedure name with parameters, but not current execution statement? is there any dba view to know the current execution statement in 9i & 10g ?

Find the full sql text of the currently executing query

Hi,
I wish to find the full sql text of currently executing sql.
Tried through v$sql and v sqltext_with_newlines but it doesn't give the full sql.
We do not want to enable trace to get sql query.
How to get this ?

Please explain further. I don't understand how you are expecting to test for idle. If ABAP code is being executed, then you know that the application is not idle. Only a server event could trigger code execution. Only a timedTrigger would be able to tell you that a certain amount of time has passed without activitity - although the event of the timer itself will be a server event that constitutes activity.

I just tried to export to excel with the esdev extension and got java.lang.NumberFormatException. I found the workaround at Re: Windows Multi-language env, - how do I set English for application lang?
open the file sqldeveloper\jdev\bin\sqldeveloper.conf and add the following two lines:
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
AddVMOption -Duser.country=USyet now my date formats in excel are 'american-style' instead of german. For example 01-DEC-01 so excel does not recognize it as date and therefore I can not simply change the format.
When export to excel will be native to 1.1 perhaps someone can have a look at this 'feature'

Query with JPA not working. Is possible to see the executed SQL statements?

I have a question regarding namedqueries. I am having an error for which I am not being able to find any solution. ORM mappings seem to be ok, and the EntityManager validates correctly. However I am getting an error when trying to retrieve some results. My question is if it is possible to retrieve the set of SQL statements queried on the server, to see if it is due to a different issue than JPA settings.

You can enable sql logging in a provider specific way (e.g for hibernate you add hibernate.show_sql=true in the hibernate.properties file).
You could get more help if you described the problem you are getting.

What can be the cause of Web ADI error : Cannot execute SQL statement?

I created a custom integrator in r12.2.3 and while loading I encountered an error, Cannot execute SQL statement.
I checked my setup in Interface attribute , the RUN_ID column has a default type SQL QUERY with a default value SELECT XXCONV_EAM_ASSET_NUM_S.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL.
If I have a right setup here, what can be the cause of this error?

Finding a file in the current executable jar file.

Hi all,
I am writing a little command line type application and I thought it would be neat to embed it's 'help file' into it's executable JAR file.
Please can someone show me how to code my application to extract a file from the JAR file from which the Main.class also came?
(Is that possible?)
I've been looking around, I can find out how to work with a different JAR file but NOT how to examine the currently 'executing' one.

Executing SQL statements in container managed transactions

I have a problem when using TopLink 9.0.3 with WebSphere 4, Oracle 9i and J2EE container managed transactions.
The data changing SQL statements are executed at the end of the (container managed) transaction, not at the time of the calls to UnitOfWork.registerNewObjekt(),
UnitOfWork.validate...() or UnitOfWork.commit...().
UnitOfWork(2035008996)--validate object space.
UnitOfWork(2035008996)--validate cache.
UnitOfWork(2035008996)--JTS#beforeCompletion()
UnitOfWork(2035008996)--Connection(398132708)--INSERT INTO SVM_PERSONEN (FAX, NAME, ID, [...]) VALUES ([...])

But the end of the transaction is out of the application server code. The transaction ends after the invoke of the applixcation server method, as the stack trace of an occurring exception shows:

So the application server code has no possiblity for special reaction to this error condition.
How can I use TopLink to execute my SQL statement immidately, not at the the end of the transaction (which is out of the area of my code)? Only the transaction should end at the usual time, managed by the container.

I don't think there is anyway to currently do this in a JTS managed environment, to handle the exceptions you could,
- Make use of TopLink session ExceptionHandlers to handle the database errors during the JTS commit.
i.e.
uow.setExceptionHandler(yourExceptionHandler);
or,
- Let TopLink control the transactions instead of JTS.

How to execute sql statement under bat file?

I want to execute following statement
C:\>sqlplus /nolog
SQL> conn scott/tiger
SQL> select * from tab;
I know I can realize it as following test.bat and testdb.sql file
test.bat is follows:
sqlplus /nolog @testdb.sql
testdb.sql is follows:
conn scott/tiger
select * from tab;
Now I don't want to use sql file,I only want to use bat file,like follows:
test.bat is follows:
sqlplus /nolog
conn scott/tiger
select * from tab;
when I run test.bat,I find only sqlplus /nolog statement execute,the other statements don't execute.
1)I want to know whether there is a method to execute sql statement only by bat file without a sql file? How to realize it?
2)If I call sql file,how to hide passord of user? Because I don't want to other persons know scott password,if I use conn scott/tiger in testdb.sql,other person can see testdb.sql and know the password. Is there a good method to avoid?

Try this:
delete party_note
where rowid not in (select max(rowid)
from party_note
group by rms_note_id, rms_summary_note_id
commit;No need for cursors and loops.
And when that's completed, consider ALTERing the table to add a unique index (or even a primary key) so you'll never need to do this again.
