FireFox 3.6.12 doesn't display an iFrame (an Amazon sales link) that displays in IE8, Chrome, and Safari. It displays iFrames of PDFs on the web site.

I support www.oaklandsymphonychorus.org, a site using DotNetNuke 4.9.5. I added an iFrame module to the site using the URL in this code:
<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=oaklsympchor-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=B002FQJT3Q&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"></iframe>
The iFrame displays in IE8, Chrome, and Safari, but not FireFox.

'''Solution:''' Add ''id'' and ''name'' attributes to the iframe-tag.

  • How do I get the Adobe toolbar to display above a pdf in the web browser?

    Hi guys,
I'm just having trouble with locating the grey toolbar, it's not displaying when I open a .pdf in a web browser.
I can open the .pdf fine, (within Safari), and usually (on my old computer) there was a grey toolbar above the .pdf & there's a print icon on it - that's what I'm looking for, so that I can print my lecture notes straight away.
The toolbar won't display on the web browser above the .pdf, but if I save the .pdf & open it with Adobe Reader, then the toolbar displays there with all of the icons etc.
So I was wanting to know if instead of saving them every time, if there's an option to get the toolbar displaying above .pdfs in Safari?
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, iOS does not provide a way to install "plugins" to Safari so there is no possible way the Reader can do this. You can use the "open in" functionality to launch Reader from Safari.

Album art doesn't display in all cd in the Zen Vison M . I have 649 cd and most of them display correct on ZEN Vision M. But some doesn't , I try to delete de Cd and rip it again and add the album art it didn't work for some reason some of the albums does not dipslay. The album art shows in Zen Explorer but not on the Zen vision M. Do you know why. I also try to get the Cover enlarge 200x200 or larger 500x500 but still odesn't work please any help. I had read all the suggestion in the forum also and follow suggestion but it doesn't work.

If you select multiple songs and choose Get Info, the Album Art box will always be blank, even if the individual songs each have the same common Art. This is expected behavior.
Copying the Art directly to the iPod will never work. If your iTunes displays the Art fine, and the nano doesn't, your problem is likely to be a firmware issue with the iPod. I would suggest performing a "restore" and then try again. Otherwise, if issues remain, reinstall iTunes if more than one XP user is affected.

  • Option Click on the Volume menubar icon doesn't display ALL airplay devices, just the last one used

Option Click on the Volume menubar icon doesn't display ALL airplay devices, just the last one used. I've seen other peoples display all their devices. Why can't I?

I've discovered that those screenshots where you see more than one speaker listed in the menubar icon are actually bluetooth devices, not airplay. When you check the shot of the system preferences pane and see them all listed there too, the Type says Bluetooth. Not sure why bluetooth gets them all listed and apple's own airplay standard does not. Hope a developer writes a mac app to do it!

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

  • PDF Documents with Functional Buttons - Works for IE and FireFox but not for Chrome and Safari

    To all,
Good morning.  Our institution developed a PDF document with functional buttons for printing and e-mailing.  When the document is viewed via Internet Explorer and Firefox, the functional buttons work as expected.  However if the document is viewed via Chrome and Safari, the functional buttons do not work.  The workaround for those who are using Chrome and Safari, the PDF document needs to be saved to their local drive before the functional buttons work.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?  If yes, what was your solution other than the workaround.
    Thanks.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu.

I just downloaded the latest version of firefox (5.0). Can I delete all the older versions that are still on my drive?
When I call up some web sites sometimes the web site comes up 3 or 4 times...how do I stop this from happening? For example if I click on a link the exact same link comes up 3 or 4 times and I have to manually delete all of them but one.

Do you organise your email into separate folders, or do you just let it accumulate in the Inbox?
I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. I appreciate that current builds of Thunderbird and a modern 64-bit OS should be able to cope, but practically I find it slows down when given huge files, so I err towards a pragmatic solution; a large number of not very big files.
Archives are searchable, and a Saved Search folder can give you a virtual composite folder allowing access to the entire Archive.

What is "Adobe XI" - Reader, or Acrobat?
But either way, 'Save as Adobe PDF' is a Word function, independent of what Adobe software you have installed.

  • Facebook has not been loading properly for me since Feb. 22/14. Can you please check what is wrong with Firefox. The web-site Facebook works fine on Safari.

I've had issues with Facebook not loading certain areas of the web-site correctly or fully since Feb. 22. When I first go onto Facebook I am on the home page "news feed". Thing is when I click on the tab at the bottom of the news feed that says "see more", nothing is happening. It refuses to open the feed up to older posts which friends or myself have posted. Only about 6 - 8 posts at the max show on that home feed. That's it.
My other issue, also in Facebook is when I go to access my "messages". First click on the tab "messages" brings up a white page. Then if I refresh the page to see if it will load, the messages page loads very weird. It shows the last message I may have replied to at the bottom of the screen, but over lapping on top of the list of previous messages to the left of the page. Plus the page appears extremely different than it should. Just like it's been re-formatted or whatever.
Since these 2 issues started on Saturday afternoon I've switched over to the Safari browser on my iMac. On that browser Facebook is performing properly, as it should be. It's not overlapping messages. Plus the home feed isn't refusing to extend for me so that I may view older stories or posts by friends. All appears fine while accessing Facebook on the Safari browser. Not so while on Firefox. I am running the most up to date version of Firefox. "27.0.1" Plus I have a habit to clear the browser's history daily & restarting the browser as well as my iMac. So I do not believe those are my problems. I feel there may be something you guys there at Firefox should look into on this.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
''(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)''
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item:<br>
    [[Image:FirefoxSafeMode|width=520]]<br><br>
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
    Thank you.

  • How to display an SAP document on the web (ECC 6.0)

    Hello all,
currently upgrading from 46C to ECC60 and we are having trouble with one of our current processes.
We currently have a custom RFC that creates spool files and turns them into a PDF stream via CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.  The RFC is called from one of our web applications that then displays the document via PDF on the web.
We are having trouble using this same process in ECC 6.0 so I'm wondering if there is a different approach to do this in ECC 6.0.
History of what has been done so far.
    1) since we are now on a UNICODE system the PDF stream sent via the RFC call was displaying chinese characters instead of "%PDF" etc (2hex char vs 4hex char). We attempted to fix this by using the method cl_abap_conv_in_ce=>create to convert each line of the PDF stream.
    2) After inserting the method some of the documents started working but others are getting a parsing error.
We are looking to see if anyone knows of a more standard approach to getting the same thing done.

We have experienced the same problem since we upgraded to ECC 6 and unicode last week.  The suggested code worked but there was a step missing in the example that I would like to share.
The spool output was table TLINE which is 134 characters.  Once you convert to non-unicode you actually have to put the results in a 268 char table.  When you read it in .NET and convert it to a binary array before passing it to Acrobat for viewing you have to make sure that you pad each record with spaces up to 268 charactes.  This was key!
Here is the code from our RFC after calling the CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF with a spool id:
data: PDF STRUCTURE  ZC268_STRUCT occurs 0 with header line.
    call function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'
      exporting
        src_spoolid                    = f_rqident
      tables
        pdf                            = pdf.
data:     rf_conv type ref to cl_abap_conv_in_ce.
    rf_conv = cl_abap_conv_in_ce=>create( encoding = 'NON-UNICODE' ).
data: fta_data type table of zc268_struct with header line.
    data: f_str    type string.
    field-symbols: <f_src> type x.
loop at pdf assigning <f_src> casting.
         call method rf_conv->convert(
          exporting input = <f_src>
          importing data  = f_str ).
          fta_data        = f_str.
          append            fta_data.
          clear             fta_data.
    endloop.
The data in fta_data can be passed to .NET
    I hope that helps.
    Hussam

Safari is running strangely on my new MacBook Pro. It has decided to NOT automatically add .com
when I type an address ..... THEN, when it can't find the website I get the message

Could the IE I am using when I'm using Windows XP (via Bootcamp) have corrupted Safari somehow?
    Ideas, please! Thanks.

I found that the DNS settings in system prefs> networks > advanced had been mysteriously changed to something rather "foreign". An archive and Install solved the problem. Did your client happen to install a program called "Glim" (a Safari "enhancer"). That's our suspect.
