Firefox displaying the nav menu strangely

Hi
I've built the following site and I'm having an issue with older versions of Firefox displaying the nav menu strangely.
http://www.mhn-ltd.com/
Basically the issue is, that when hovering over menu page links, they sporadically disappear and reappear. They div floated right in the header (containing "tel: 01246 xxxxxx Call now to book a visit") is also coming and going. If I delete that floated div, the nav menu works fine, but I ideally want to keep it in. What's also strange, is the problem is not happening on the gallery page, I've copied the code exactly from there to solve the issue but its still happening.
The issue is not happening in the new Firefox, just older versions. I'm on Mac OSX 10.5.8, so cannot upgrade the new version of Firefox, Im using 16.0.2. The problem doesn't exist in any other browser.
Thanks in advance

Hi there
Thanks for your replies, I'm using Firefox 16.0.2
After further investigation, I have found that it is the <select> option within the form in the right hand side div causing the issue.
In this [http://greglumleydesign.co.uk/index.html link,] I have left the <select> option in the form and the issue of the three a links (testimonials, helpful links and get in touch) disappearing in the nav menu when you hover over them is there.
In this [http://greglumleydesign.co.uk/test.html link] I have removed the <select> option within the form and the problem is fixed.
Is there any reason this would be happening?
Thanks

  • Can I change the nav menu text color?

Can I change the nav menu text color? ( it's too dark for the dark background I like.)

I have this exact same question and you have no reply and I'm wondering what the answer is.

  • Firefox is not displaying the Actions menu in Google calendar

I have used Google calendar on my old XP machine. I have a new Win7 64 bit machine and now Firefox does not completely display the Google calendar page. The word Actions is displayed at the lower right corner, but the icons are off screen and unavailable. I can get to it in IE.

Actually it also seems to work in the current Firefox 4 beta as it is.
The code is not right though - the correct syntax for the color attribute with hex values is with a # at the start, so:
    color="#FF9966"
It might work in Firefox 3.x if you change that.

  • In Firefox 4 the dropdown menu next to the forward button in the Navigation Toolbar that allowed the user to select another page in the history to go back to is gone. Why?

In Firefox 3, the user could access a dropdown menu by hovering over a small black arrow next to the forward arrow in the Navigation Toolbar. This allowed the user to go to earlier pages in the browser history, rather than using the back button to go to the immediate previous page.
After updating to Firefox 4, this menu disappeared. Was it moved? Was it removed?
I found this feature to be very useful. Why was it changed?
    Nick

There are two ways to get this: (1) Hold the back button until the menu appears (2) Right click the back button. See the screenshot below for reference.

  • Upgrading from FF 15.1 to Firefox 16, the Bookmark menu is very laggy. Moving the mouse is slow in menu.

I have been using FF 4ever.
After the update to firefox 16, when I drop the bookmark menu down, scrolling thru the menu, the movement is laggy, like stuttering.
If I leave the menu down on the screen and move the cursor across the menu, the mouse pauses and jumps like 3" on the screen. like it hits a border and sticks then jumps across. But then I test and move the mouse across all menus and its laggy. but once I surf or click on a link, its fine. I disabled hardware Accel. to test, no help. I did a clean install of FF by cleaning and deleting all mozilla and firefox folders. no help. So I downgraded to 15.0.1 and all is well. I tested 15 and 16 both with importing the bookmarks and only FF16 is having this issue.
System is Windows XP, SP3 Pentium 4 3.06HT
    2GB Ram
    ATI Radeon3850 HD AGP card

Weird thing is that if I revert back to FF15, everything works with HA enabled and full bookmark menu.
but its a no go with FF16
    PEACE

  • Firefox does not load up, open up when I click the icon, or when I go to firefox using the start menu.

I downloaded firefox 4 and used it for a few days and then it ceased to open up when I clicked the icon or went through the start menu. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still does not open.

Have you tried opening in Safe Mode - Hold down the Shift key as you double click.
Your Ask Toolbar is a known problem.
If Safe Mode works you can work your way through this -

  • Not Displaying the Window Menu option...

    Hi ,
Is there any way not the 'window' menu option to be displayed in a custom menu...in Dev10g????
    Thanks,
    Simon

Create a menu item, with the name "window", in the custom menu.
set "window" menu item Properties as:
      menu item type : Magic
      magic item     : Window
      visible in menu: No

  • One particular website on loading in Firefox , displays the HTML script instead. While the same website loads fine in IE7. Why?

    The webpage address is
    http://www.utdallas.edu/~jxc064000/CS6359Fall2011.htm
The same page opens fine in IE7. I am more of a firefox guy and i rarely use IE. Being a computer science student myself i am rather curious regarding the possible reason behind this problem.
My operating system is Windows 7.

'''Change Firefox to use the encoding Unicode (UTF16)
It apparently has a lot of odd characters within it, presumably an unexpected coding.
I tried the text as displayed in firefox (NOT the page source) cut out the first two characters and pasted the remainder into a html file and it opened ok in firefox.
I then changed to Unicode (UTF16) and the original webpage then loads and displays ok.

  • I can't sync iPhone with computer because iTunes won't display the device menu option anymore

The device menu won't appear across the top of iTunes - its as if my iPhone 5 is invisible. This is a sudden surprise after syncing my iPad yesterday. Help?!

You can only sync to one computer at a time.
Before attempting to sync-are you logged in as the same user as the old iTunes, can you select transfer purchases when right click on iPhone icon?

  • Menu on the right is not displaying the full menu. I downloaded 'menu wizard' before this.

    Dear ,
I downloaded mail merge and menu wizard from your add-on collection. Since then, the menu bar is showing when I press 'alt' but when I click the mouse on the file or any other menu, the drop menu is not working.
    What should I do. ?

Press 'Alt' to get a temporary Menu Bar which shows 'File, Edit, View etc'
then View > Toolbars > select 'Menu bar' to set as permanent.
You can also enable all toolbars:
    menu Icon > Options
    and enable all the tolbars
    see image below

  • Until recently, if I closed Firefox using the "Exit" menu option, it would not trigger the "closing multiple tabs" warning. How do I restore this behavior?

Up until a few weeks ago--I think when I updated to Firefox 23, though it may have been 22--if I enabled "Warn me when closing multiple tabs," the warning would display only if I closed out a window using the X in the upper right-hand corner, but not if I closed the browser down correctly from the menu. Now it's warning me when I use the menu, too. Is there a way to revert this behavior? I only need the warning if I accidentally hit the x for the entire window instead of for a single tab.

You can consider to use this startup setting:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • Firefox displays the first tab when another tab is clicked to view.

I have multiple windows open with multiple tabs and most first tries to open a tab by clicking, the webpage open on the first (furthest left) tab is displayed on in the tab I clicked on. This is often solved by changing tabs again, then going back.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • I am a Flash developer. When I change a Flash file (SWF) and try to test it, Firefox displays the previous version even though I have cleared the cache. Clearing the cache obviously doesn't clear everything. Why?

I developed a Flash file (SWF) with a light blue start button, placed it on a web server then went to the URL using Firefox (3.6.8). Later I updated the SWF (changed the button to dark blue), replaced the SWF on the web server, opened Firefox and used Tools/Clear Recent History... to clear the cache. Then when I went to the URL to test the replaced SWF it clearly opened the previous version (light blue button). How can that happen if the previous version no longer exists on the web server? Firefox can only be opening the file from its cache, so why is the file still there if I just cleared the cache?

    Your not alone!
I had the identical issue with iPhone config Utility on windows 7 64bit.
A virtual macOS on the same machine didn't have a problem, windows iTunes didnt have a problem. Just a glitch with ICU on windows
I tried everything you did and the only thing that fixed it was to change the appID or app name (I forget which I did).
I don't know where that old app data is stored on the machine, but I deleted all apps, uninstalled/reinstalled ICU and it still would populate and install the old ipa.
I also still periodically get weird errors/glitches deploying to iOS on windows.
It's like some days I need to deploy with ICU, sometimes iTunes, sometimes I need to run the VM mac... SOO frustrating.
It always works one way or another, so the app itself is always fine.
I guess I really need to look into that new direct deployment option...
