[FL8] System.capabilities...

Hola a todos,
alguien me puede indicar algn tipo de
programacin tipo
"System.capabilities.screenResolutionX;" que en vez de
detectar la
resolucin de pantalla detecte el espacio que el
navegador reserva a mostrar
la pgina web? O sea el espacio que nos queda
eliminando barras de
navegador, status, etc.
Gracias.

thanks for confirming the problem. so frustrating, cant
explain to my boss why or how...
im wondering though, do you also build using Flash 8 but with
the publish setting to Flash 7?

  • How does the AS3 property flash.system.Capabilities.hasTLS get set?

There is a setting called "flash.system.Capabilities.hasTLS" that determines whether or not the Flash Player can make native SSL/TLS-based connections.  The definition of this property says " Specifies whether the system supports native SSL sockets through NetConnection (true) or does not (false)."
How does Flash determine whether this property is true or false?  Is the value passed to the Flash player by the browser?  Does Flash figure it out from the environment?  If so, how?

I, too, am trying to work out how to use extractors. The documentation is sparse.
I have found that if you replace your:
    arrayList.get(0).nameProperty().set("Hi");
    with:
    list.remove(0);
your Callback is called, but you pretty quickly get a NullPointerException after it returns.

  • Can "System.capabilities.os" be made to believe it's running on a different OS?

Can "System.capabilities.os" be made to believe it's running on a different OS?  Anyone know how it determines the OS?

    Confused yet?
I am going to save it to usb thumb drive.
The question is, you are going to save what to the flash drive? You have three choices:
    The native .ai file
A copy of the .ai file as PDF which has embeded in it a copy of the native AI content
A copy of the .ai file as PDF which does not have embedded in it a copy of the native AI content
An then show it to a friend on his AI on a different computer....
If your friend is going to open the native .ai file, the Brushes will be defined in the .ai file, and everything will be as it was on your computer. Brushes are not like fonts; they are not stored in some central location on your computer. As soon as you use a Brush in an Illustrator document (even if you open a separate so-called Brush Library) it gets added to the current document's Brushes palette. So it goes along with the file.
If your friend is going to open a PDF that was saved with the Maintain Illustrator Edtiability option turned off, then he will be opening only the PDF content, which will be an "expanded" version of the Brush artwork. The artwork is "dumbed down" to basic path constructs that PDF understands; the "live" nature of the Brush functionality will be gone.
If your friend is going to open a PDF that was saved with the Maintain Illustrator Edtiabiltiy option turned on, then the PDF content will be completely ignored and he will actually be opening a copy of the native AI file that is embedded in the PDF. If that PDF were opened in Acrobat, placed in InDesign, etc., then the embedded .ai file would be ignored and only the dumbed-down PDF content would be opened or imported.
I am NOT asking if I can use these custom brushes on a different computer...
Really, you are. If your friend is going to open the .ai file or a PDF that has the .ai file embedded, then the Brushes will be defined in the .ai file that he opens, and he will be able to use them.

  • Testing system.capabilities.hasAudio

    Hey all,
I need to figure out if a client has the ability to hear audio.  As it stands, my project breaks for users without sound cards.  I am using hasAudio to change to a different mode that does not rely on audio, but can't get hasAudio to fire false.  I can't disable my onboard card from the bios and stopping the services and disabling drivers isn't helping.
Does anybody know how I can test hasAudio?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can try two options.
The first would be to transport these inactive objects again.
Second would be to try activating them again directly.
Refer SAP Note 1056060 - DataSource: Reactivation in the production system
    OR
Try T-code RSDS to activate all the datasources assigned to one sourcesytem.
Enter * at datasource field and enter sourcesytem name at the respective field and execute.
RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL (Not sure if it works)
how to activate the DS in production system after the replication
Then program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL comes into picture only when you need to activate the transfer structures.Ideally this comes after a support pack upgrade/maintenance/transport issues or in case your data load failed due to time stamp error. As a pre requisite you replicate the data source in BW then perform this activity.
RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL - to activate transfer structures (Input parameters: SystemID, techn.Name Transfer Structure, For master data using direct upload the infosource name is the name of the info object itself.)
Note: This program is not useful in creating a new Transfer Rule. You can activate one that is already existing.
The infosource is always assigned to a datasource with respect to a source system.
There for if you give the infosource and source system information the system knows which datasource is assigned to the relevant infosource.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • System.capabilities.language always returns en on OS X Leopard

    Hello everyone!
I am having some trouble with the Flash (ActionScript 2.0) on
an Intel MAC running OS X Leopard. It seems that no matter how i
change the OS language (via System Preferences or at installation)
the System.capabilies.language call always returns "en". More
bothering is that apparently, on non-intel macs running Leopard,
some languages are detected and shown correctly (German and
    Italian)...
I looked al over the Internet for a hint but i could not find
any. So ... please help... is this an OS problem, a Flash problem
or do i need a "native french" (or any other language) Leopard
    installation disk ?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Here's information for Resolving Kernel Panics
You've done a great job so far of trouble shooting...
    -did the apple hardware test
-tested the RAM for any defects
-recently did an ARCHIVE and INSTALL
Before you go to the link above, have you tried checked the boot disk for errors? If not..;.
Restart your Mac while holding down the C key, pressing the power button and inserting your restore disk all at the same time. An Installer window will open, but do not proceed with any installations. Instead, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities > Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility window click First Aid, and then click Verify. If Disk Utility reports errors, click Repair. When Disk Utility is finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
Try disconnecting any peripherals, iPod's, mice, keyboards, cameras....
(I know you have a MacBook, but many people use the peripherals anyway).
Reboot and see if that makes a difference.
Get Leopard Cache Cleaner available here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/leopardcachecleaner.html
"Leopard Cache Cleaner lets you create bootable Emergency Disks that include system repair utilities and LCC’s powerful cache cleaning functions. If disaster strikes, the power of Leopard Cache Cleaner is available at the command prompt in Single User Mode"
If none of the above help, then go to the link above for kernel panics.

  • System capabilities

    Hi-
At home I am still running CS5 on my 2010-ish Mac Book Pro and it's running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I want to upgrade to Mavericks and start subscribing to Creative Cloud. Before I do that, I need to make sure things will run properly and won't get bogged down. I'll likely need to run several design programs at the same time. I just can not afford a new computer right now. I'm also worried about changing anything because with my luck, my computer will get angry and I won't be able to finish the freelance projects that I am in the midst of! Just want to get with the times and finally get Creative Cloud.
Here is a screen shot of the basic computer info. Will extra RAM make any computer run better? Just wondering if that's the simple answer.
    Thanks.

I dream of a new computer every day.   I just can't do it. It's a struggle just to pay for gas and groceries right now. The refurbished macs are not even low enough for me.
Do you think i'll have a problem even upgrading to Yosemite? Here are a couple more screen shots that might help. One is from when I went to "About this Mac" and the other is from "get info" on my hard drive.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Operating System (OS) Detection

Is there a way to detect the specific operating system and
install the appropriate version of Adobe Acrobat Reader based on
    that detection?
This is for a CD with an .exe
Acrobat 7.0 and earlier versions do not support Windows
    Vista. Adobe
does not plan to release updates to Acrobat 7.0 and earlier
    for
    Windows Vista compatibility.

I'm not sure if you want the Acrobat forums, but you can get
this info in ActionScript with Flash Player by using the
    flash.system.Capabilities class. More info here:

  • How to test operating systems

    Hi!

  • Can AS3 recognize operating system & call appropriate file (wmv vs. mov)?

Hi, I'm using Flash CS3 to create a graphical interface with
multiple buttons--each of which opens a different linked file. The
interface and linked files will all be included on a memory stick
given out to people. The code below works perfectly for calling up
a .wmv file (from a folder in the root drive called "linked_files")
when a button is clicked. But my question is this:
Is there a way for AS3 to recognize whether a computer is
running Windows (in which case it would open the .wmv) or Mac OS
(in which case it would open a .mov instead)?
I need to do the same thing with a couple of .exe files.
Obviously Mac won't read them, in which case I need an appropriate
    alternative to open.

    Hi dreamrhts,
Take a look at the os property of the capabilities class:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/system/Capabilities.html#o s
You can't use navigateToUrl to execute an exe file.
Your only option for this would be through fscommand (only
works in standalone projector!). Depending one your needs
    third-party projector tools maybe necessary.
Dont know anything about mac executables though.
    Good luck !

  • How do I detect user's Operating System?

    Hello,
I was wondering if there is an amazing bit of actionscript
out there that allows flash to detect the user's operating system,
and from there then open the correct install version of adobe
reader (basically just several different .exe files which I already
    have downloaded).
    I am using actionscript 2.0.
    Appreciate any help!

I have updated my wikibook How To Backup Operating Systems to include a method for ext4 using the new FSArchiver, and also made it both GRUB v1 and v2 friendly, among other changes.  This guide is fairly newbie-friendly and is designed to help take some of the stress out of system updates and reinstallations by providing a reliable and easy system backup/restore solution.  It covers multi-OS systems including Windows.   It also contains a section "How The Computer Boots - The MBR Explained" that is good reading if you don't understand the boot process.

  • Capabilities.language for variants of the same language (i.e: Portuguese from Portugal and Brazil)

According to the documentation, Capabilities.language has a fixed list of possible values, as shown here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/system/Capabiliti es.html#language
For Portuguese there's only one entry: "pt"
So will Capabilites.language return the same "pt" value for people from Portugal and from Brazil?
How can I tell the difference? How can i get the "pt-br" or "pt-pt" strings?
    Thanks!

  • How to detect the operating system at runtime?

I have a libary which i use for a mobile (android) and desktop-air projekt. I want to code somthing like this (pseudoCode):
    if( operating system == mobile/android )
            this.addFieldUIs(myPopUpList);
    else if(operating system == desktop )
           this.addFieldUIs(myDropDownList);
Is it possible to archive this?

    Hello,
You could investigate flash.system.Capabilities.os I think - but it is discouraged to use is for feature-depending support (it lists iOS but does not list Android OS for example in docs). Instead Adobe advise to perform runtime checks for feature specific support.
