Flash Album generator not in DW

Novice in building site, purchased DMXZone Flash Album
Generator 2, installed trial version of Fireworks, Adobe extension
manager says it's been installed. When I open DW the option that I
should click under "commands" doesn't appear, and the icon on the
tool bar isn't there either. Where have I gone wrong? Suggestions
much appreciated.

Flash Album Exporter in iFrame problem. Greybox not working as expected

I've searched and I can't find the solution or any info on the problem elsewhere.
I've used Flash Album Exporter for the grey box effect. This appears perfectly here

However, it's aligned to the left hand side; I can't get it to centre and there's more text I want to put on. So I thought I'd put it in an iFrame. The moment I do that, things go wrong. Here

For some reason it won't load the images. What am I doing wrong? Also, is there any way to change the thumbnail images?

First, I can't get your first link to work. Removing the ".index.html" from the link does get the flash to load and play.
For some reason that particular flash presentation won't work in an iFrame/HTML snippet. Have you tried using a different FAE theme to see if you can get it to work in the iFrame. I've been able to get several to work in my demo sites: SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter and Flash Album Exporter Postcard and AutoViewer Slideshow Themes.

Hi i am interested in using adobe flash to generate a code
out of the infomation a user inputs generally the idea is this 1.
User inputs infomation such as age etc 2. a code gets generated 3.
this code links in with the infomation that is given and i can now
type this into flash and the infomation would come up. Can anyone
please tell me is flash able to do this and if so how would i go
about doing it, if not what other ways would there be able to
create something like this

You can do this in Flash. A question is do you want all the
logic embedded in the Flash movie including the code generation or
do you want to use server side scripts and any server side data?

Flash content will not load in IE7

My company standard is IE7
I'm charged with developing flv that will auto play on PC from a removable thumb drive.
in addition it should be able to launch a url.
I'm using CS4 Flash and Dreamweaver
developing on a Mac.
I've used action script 3 to program buttons that start, stop and launch url
I've worked everything out on a Mac.it works fine in Mac environment.
I've gotten swf files to autoplay on PC
the PROBLEM?
when I try load the html web page on the PC with IE7 the flash content (either a swf or flv embedded using Dreamweaver) does not load.
IF I leave the IE specific html in the code IE7 returns a message that flash player needs to update. - IT has installed the latest version of flash player.
if I extract the sniffer/alternative code the flash content does not load there is no message
If the swf file auto loads and plays then Why is that a problem?
action script - to launch url execution launches as a security warning and the trusted settings window
not very seamless eh?
so the alternative is to play the flash content embedded in html and create launch url button in html . . . but ofcourse flash content won't load in IE7.
I've not been able to test the code on any other version of IE
I hope this is enough information to help if not let me know what you need to know . . .

I am having the very same problem and have done exactly the same... generated my html through flash professional CS5. It works great in IE8 but is just a blank page in IE7. You did not post the solution, did you find one?

Any suggestions?

Squiggly Flash Builder Error in Flash Catalyst Generated FXP File

Flash Builder generates the following error message in a Flash Catalyst Generated project with PHP as the server when the Squiggly AdobeSpelling.swc is included in the LIBS folder: "Unable to load AdobeSpelling.swc in design mode" with the result that fds.swc, fiber.swc and serializers.swc do not load in design mode. Squiggly functionality consequently does not work. Any one else with a similar experience with a work around?

Flex mobile 4.6 app works inside flash builder but not in android emulator

I have a basic flex mobile 4.6 app and it works fully fine in the flash builder built-in emulator using an android device profile like aria...
It also launches fine in the android emulator but one particular view shows blank (and this view works fine in flash builder).
Before I get in to many details of the view are there any categorical gotchas that can be causing this?
I can't seem to get the trace statements from the app to show in 'adb logcat'. It seems I need to compile a debug version of the apk but I don't know how to do this. I use the 'Export Release Build' from the Project menu in flash builder and it doesn't seem to have an option for debug=true.
The problematic/blank view basically uses the stagewebview and iotashan's oauth library to call linkedin rest apis... A different (and working) view can make restful web service calls in the emulator fine, so it doesn't seem to be an internet permission.
The source code contained in the problematic/blank view is almost identical to the tutorial found at:http://www.riagora.com/2011/01/air-and-linkedin/
The differences are: a) The root tag is a View b) I use StageWebView instead of HtmlContainer c) I use my own linkedin key and tokens.
I would appreciate it if someone can provide me with some pointers on how to troubleshoot this situation. Perhaps someone can tell me how to debug the app while running in the emulator (I think I need the correct adt command arguments for this which matches the 'Export Release Build' menu but adds the debug param?)

I suspect that this has to do with connections to https:// api.linkedin.com and https:// www.linkedin.com. The only reason I can think of that the same code is not having issues inside of Flex Builder but indeed having issues in the Android emulator is something to do with certificates. Any ideas?

I have created a project that clearly reproduces the bug. Here are the steps:
1) Create a UrlLoader and point it to https://www.google.com (HTTPS is important because http works but HTTPS does not)
2) Load it
3) Run in Flash Builder 4.6/Air 3.1 and then run in Android emulator. The former works with an http status 200. The latter gives you an ioerror 2032. I am assuming what works in Flash Builder is supposed to work in the Android Emulator and what what works in the emulator is supposed to work in a physical device (plus or minus boundary conditions).
I see a certificate exception in adb logcat but not sure if it's related...

Flash Album Exporter

Has anyone used the Flash Album Exporter to put slideshows on iWeb?
I use Aperture and have create a slideshow by exporting it to the Flash Album Eporter plugin. However, I'm not sure how to incorporate it into iWeb. Is it even possible?

Flash 9 Text Not Properly Anti-Aliased In Flash 10

I use Flash CS3 to author .swfs for Flash Player 9. recently
i noticed that Flash 10 is not displaying the anti-aliased text
from Flash 9 content correctly.

). The above image is Flash 9 text playing in Flash 10. The bottom
image is Flash 9 text playing in Flash 9. The removal of the fine
coloring makes the text much sharper looking. It's not ideal,
especially for smaller text of size 10 and below.
Is there anyway i can create a Flash 10 file using Flash CS3?
I've tried using the trial version of Flash CS4 to do this,
but it really doesn't play nicely with my current CS3 project. LOTS
of "missing fonts" as well as the working stage not rendering
correctly in the program. I'd rather avoid CS4 all together as it
seems littered with issues, and i'm in no position to start from
scratch.

Have you checked the font?
Are they the same fonts in Word and Pages?
Some applications maintain their own font folders.
There is also a possibility of font clashes, a problem with OSX having dfonts, ttf and sometimes otf fonts all with the same name. OSX is a bit of a mess with font management (as well as color management).

Imported Flash files are not playing in published output

Adobe Presenter 7 with the latest updates and PowerPoint 2007
When I insert a Captivate 3 generated Flash file into a Presenter slide, the flash file does not play in the Published output. The slide's image is displayed for 5 seconds and then stops.
After further review, I found that my imported Flash files are not included in the output. Any ideas?

Hi Terry,
It's been awhile since I've messed around w/ Captivate 3, but I have a quick question: does your Captivate content include a skin.swf file? If so, then you may have to look at a couple of different solutions to fix the playback problem that you're seeing with Presenter.
One fix includes eliminating the skin by turning the borders option off which will eliminate the "_skin.swf" file. That'll be one less file to deal with, but you need to do that BEFORE publishing in Captivate. From there, you should end up with one swf file from your Captivate content; and then at that point you can include that swf in your Presenter content.
And while we're at it....are you using any Full Motion Recordings at all? I've seen instances where, as you reported, Captivate content will run for awhile, but then the screen "goes blank"...so I'm just curious to know if your Captivate content in actuality has many more files than the "base" swf---which is probably the swf you included in PowerPoint.
Having said that, can you share more information about what your Captivate project looks like (in terms of the number of swf files you're working with, etc), and let's see if we can resolve this for you.

Flash self generates Tween graphics

I noticed this thing that Flash self generated graphic symbols and names it Tween1, Tween2, etc.
I am not sure why it happens. Usually it happens when I tween something and then this accompanying graphic symbol appears in the library.
Do I really need them, is it a flash mulfunction and I can safely delete them?
Any idea why they are happening, am I making all the wrong steps in tweening and thus they appear?

In my experience, these Flash-generated graphics usually come into being as a result of improperly creating timeline tweens... they essentially fill in some otherwise missing links. To properly create a timeline (classic) tween you need to have the exact same symbol at both ends of the tween. The only difference being some change in properties of the object between the two frames, such as position, rotation, color, etc.
I cannot remember/pinpoint exactly what scenario triggers them so as to be able to demonstrate the correct versus incorrect method of creating them.
Chances are, if you delete them you will lose something of the tween... but I would recommend trying it just so that you might learn from the experience.

Your tablet uses Android OS.
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Flash Player Does Not Work with IE8 and Windows XP

I am using Windows XP VR 5.1 with SP3. Flash Player does not function? So videos will not play that use Flash Player. The Adobe Support Site has been 000 Help because it is a free product. Microsoft says it is an Adobe problem. Finger pointing to the nth degree. I have loaded the latest version of Javascript and Flash Palyer.. Any ideas?

Resetting IE is a shotgun approach, but may be much easier (and faster) for a user than trying to troubleshoot and find exactly which add-on, control, setting is causing issues. For a fast approach, you can reset IE, then start re-installing the add-ons you wish to use. Here is a kb that describes the process and even provides a Fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
If you’d like to troubleshoot, here are some steps that will fix most issues with Internet Explorer and Add-ons. This can be more of a scalpel approach, and could help you save your cookies, stored passwords, etc.

g.       Restart Internet Explorer. Continue using Internet Explorer the same way you did when you received a crash report. If Internet Explorer continues to crash after disabling this add-on, continue with the next step.
h.      Repeat steps b through g for each add-on listed. When you can no longer reproduce the problem, the most recently disabled add-on is the cause of the problem. Flash Player does not work with Standard User, but will work when browser is "Run as Administrator"

I don't understand why this is happening, but Flash Player will not work when a Standard User is using the browser. It will only work when the browser is run as an administrator. Any way to fix this? I've tried to uninstall, and reinstall the player, and it still wouldn't work.
The user is on Windows 7, 64-bit. Using IE 10.

Any update to provide at all here guys? Again, in my situation, it's very much rights-related as a standard user doesn't even report that the flash player exists when testing it on the Adobe Flash Version Detection website (despite it showing up in Control Panel and under Add/Remove Programs). I've already tried giving the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and files/subfolders appropriate permissions for the standard user and still nothing. If I either give the user in question full local admin rights or logon as the domain admin, then the Adobe Flash Version Detection website says Flash is installed and Flash works fine.
Thoughts???
