Flash builder 4.7 crashes on start

I am a creative cloud customer. And i was working on flash builder 4.6 without any problem. Today i was notified that i can install 4.7. And i did it.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. It crashes on start and i don't know why. All other products work fine and previous version 4.6 worked fine also
i have try to reinstall it but it hasn't resolved my problem and as a creative customer i can't manage to find the older version which works fine
i have found this error log but honestly i can't really manage with this and don't know how to fix this

I finally found what probelem i have. Visual studio has corrupted one dll. Flahs is crashing due to my browser in 64bits which has problem. I found that it could be a probleme while installing a .net framework. But unfortunately i can't delete or uninstall this framework, i had no option to uninstall it. I guess the best way is to format my computer. But as i am waiting for a new worksatation dedicated to your tool and zbrush of course(for stage3d is a real improvment), i won't format it now it would take too much time to resintall everything and i would have to do this again when i will received my workstation
If someone has problem like that there might be a solution(not the best but at least it works)
To solve my problem as i have to make an app in flash builder. I downloaded the 32 bits version of flash builder 4.7. And i will resintall the 64 bits as soon as i received my workstation.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 crashes on start up constantly. Mac OSX 10.9

I am having many issues using Flash Builder at the moment. I am using Flash Builder 4.7 on Mac OSX 10.9 (Mavericks). My Java version is Version 7 update 51. The JRE is 1.7
The first problem is that the program has begun to crash on start up. The workspace opens for a second or two and then crashes with no error or log. This is now happening constantly.
On the occasions when it does start up within around 5 minutes I receive an 'Unexpected character. " is not allowed here'. There are no characters at all at the point the error suggests.
The Problems tab says that the unexpected character is on the last line, there is only a } and then nothing following. It doesn't matter what code I am working on, this error happens on all of them. It also gives multiple sets of these errors. On one occasion there were 169 errors relating to the unexpected character.
With these errors, Flash Builder is currently unusable. I would appreciate any assistance that can be given.
I noticed on the system requirements that OSX Mavericks is not listed, does anyone know if there will be an update to Flash Builder soon?
    Regards
    Richard

Flash Builder 4.7 on OSX requires Java version 1.6. Mavericks comes with Java version 1.7, so you'll need to install the older version.
You may also want to bump the specs in the "Adobe FlashBuilder 4.7.ini" file.

I've red somewhere that FB needs Java v1.6. Can this be the reason? How to run 1.6 and 1.8 in parallel on a Mac?

    Please try the following steps:
Rename the default workspace"Adobe Flash Builder 4.7"( on Mac it's located at /Users/USER_NAME/Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7) and try launching Flash Builder.Even if this doesn't work. Please un-install Flash Builder and use the cleaner tool(from this location http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html ) to clean and re-install Flash Builder.
Please let me know if this works.

  • Flash Builder 4.6 crashes on startup

    Hi,
I've been using fb 4.6 premium for a while and everything works fine. Then 2 days ago it started crashing every time I tried to start it up, and it always crashes when the message "loading workbench" appears at the splash screen. The .log recorded the following:

Can anyone decipher what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks!

I had used the trial version of Flash Builder 4.6 for the full 60 days without any problems on my Lenovo laptop, core i7, Windows 7 Ultimate-64bit, (2.5 years old).
I purchased the CS6 Master Collection, Flash Builder 4.6 worked fine for 30 days then would not open.
I've spent 3 days trying to fix it, uninstalling things, rolling back the whole computer a week, updating things and reading blogs.
I had tried uninstalling CS6 and reinstalling, did not help.
I was about to roll back 6 months and if that didn't work buy a new computer.
What finally worked was this ( I have no idea what change fixed the problem):
Uninstalled all Java entries  (7 of them)
(I didn't think of this until I happened to find this:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml )
from Windows Control Panel-Programs and Features-Uninstall or Change a program
(Flash Builder 4.6 comes with Java 1.6 so I haven't reinstalled any version or updated to 1.7)
    Repaired all .net frameworks
(right click on them in the Control Panel-Programs and Features-Uninstall or change a program)
select uninstall and a box will open asking to uninstall or repair.
Uninstalled the complete CS6 Master Collection
    Uninstalled all versions of Flash

  • Flash Builder 4.6 crashes during startup [RESOLVED]

I am documenting my troubles with Flash Builder 4.6 here for others in the event they come across the issue I experienced.  There is nothing that needs resolving at this time so you may ignore this post.
Sometime after April 21st of this year my installation of Flash Buiilder 4.6 on my machine running OS X 10.9.2, had stopped working.  I was unable to start up Flash Builder 4.6 without it simply crashing immediately after the words "Loading Workbench" Appeared on the splash image.
I had tried removing my existing workspace and allowing the application to rebuild a new one which did not work. I also checked the Apple Console App for any errors and the following errors were being reported every time the application crashed shortly after I attempted to start the application:
5/27/14 10:08:39.032 AM Adobe Flash Builder 4.6[2547]: Unrecognized Java VM option ignored: -Xdock:name=Flash Builder
5/27/14 10:08:39.032 AM Adobe Flash Builder 4.6[2547]: Unrecognized Java VM option ignored: -Xdock:icon=../Resources/fb_app.icns
5/27/14 10:08:39.032 AM Adobe Flash Builder 4.6[2547]: Unrecognized Java VM option ignored: -XstartOnFirstThread
I did a lot of searching via Google and the Adobe forums, but could find no references to anyone else that had experienced the same problem with this version 4.6 of Flash Builder.  So reluctantly, I reinstalled Flash Builder 4.6 and sure enough, everything worked again.  Something must have been corrupted in my installation even though I had made no changes to my installation during the time period in question.  I wanted to share this information with the community in the event that any of you come across this strange error.
    Cheers.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 crash on load OS X 10.7

It was working, the app crashed during a build then would not reload. After a short bit of time it returns an error alert with instructions to look at the log file. Looking at the .log file and the console there are several Java errors (see bellow)
This is a clean install of Lion not a 10.6 upgrade. This is my development machine for Xcode and Air projects, it has no extraneous stuff. Installed Java version is: Java SE 6 32-bit & 64-bit 1.6.0_26-b03-383.
What I've tried so far: Removed the Flash Builder folder from documents and let FB rebuild it. Reinstalled Java and FB 4.5.1 two and three times respectively. Verified disk permissions. Rebooted between several of these steps. Created a new Admin user account, reinstalled both again from that account. Still fails. None of these tasks has resolved the issue.
    Any ideas?

I absolutly did read the guidance notes and it was based in them that we installed.
    Quote:
"Now that we have had an opportunity to undertake further testing with the final release of Mac OS X 10.7, we are pleased to report that there are only minor usability issues when using Flash Builder 4.5.1 on Mac OS X 10.7 and, as such, we will be updating our previous statement to confirm compatibility of these releases"
What I am now experiencing on two different machines is what appears to be outside the scope of these notes and either a new issue that is reproducible, or a Java issue related to 10.7. Not being a Java guy I'm not sure were to begin short of trying Eclipse on its own.
I am able to produce a crash of FB 4.5.1 by just trying to close an MXML file by clicking the close button of the tab, or by closing a project. This is on two seperate machines now.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 crashes frequently with heap space error

We have a reasonably complex AIR application, but by and large I would not say it is enormous. It compiles down to an AIR file that is around 6MB. It is broken out into about 6 different modules. We have given the java VM the maximum RAM that it will utilize without complaining (somewhere around 768MB. You can't go to 1024MB or it blows up). Yet, Flash Builder crashes very frequently when trying to build, generally with "java heap space" errors. We are developing on Windows 7.
I had hoped Flash Builder 4.5 would be an improvement over Flash Builder 4 in this regard. It in fact got worse.
Is there any hope of seeing action on this?
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
Eliminating this completely is definitely on our radar and a high priority.
For now, there are a couple of things you can do to reduce the occurence of out of memory errors when building:
    1. Move all embedded fonts and images into an AS class in a library project.
    2. Edit the file: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_4.5.1.313231\.options in wordpad. Setting, useGlobalSwcCache and useApplicationCache to false will reduce the overall memory consumed, but decrease performance.
P.S: Please note that 2 is not officially supported or tested. If those options were, they would have been in preferences.

    Hi Kevin,
I've run into issues with previous versions of Flash Builder (actually when I saw this I was using Flex Builder) and overriding the default allocations seemed to help a bit: http://www.rphelan.com/2008/03/27/tweaking-compiler-performance-in-flex-builder/.  I'd recommend jumping over to the Flash Builder forums and posting the question to see if anyone has any up to date advice.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Builder Burrito, Random Crash in Debug Build

    Hello:
I have been working with Flash Builder Burrito for about a week. When I publish it to the Xoom device in debug mode, it will crash at random. When I publish it as a normal build, it works great.
I'm not sure if it's actually a crash or it loses the Wi-Fi connection to the device and just quits out?
I get no errors to the Debug window when it just random quits the app.
I would suggest it's a coding error but it is just sitting at a simple MXML screen and not doing anything in the background. Plus it works when I do a normal build with out the Debug console.
My guess is there is a packet loss or something and it quits out?

This is a bug in AIR on the Xoom device.  As you pointed out it only happens when debugging.  We're aware of the issue and working on a fix, you can track the progress on this bug: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-30457

  • Using latest FileInfo SDK, latest Flash Builder, new project crashes in latest Bridge

I've been trying to create a custom panel in Adobe Bridge.  I downloaded the XMP-FileInfo-SDK-CS6, loaded the jar file into Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (latest version), created a new project with NO modifications, and published it to the correct Custom File Info Panels folder on Windows 7.  I then restarted Bridge, opened FileInfo in a photo, but when I navigated to the new panel that I just created, it fails to load correctly and hangs the entire application.  The only way to close the window is to restart Bridge.
So just to be clear -- latest SDK, latest Flash Builder, latest Bridge version, new project, no modifcation, completely crashes Bridge.  The GenericPanel is about the only thing that works without problem, but it's a little too limited for what I want to do (no business logic).
Not very reassuring that this is going to work at all.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there any workaround, or update I can try instead?
    Thanks.

Ok, finally got this working.  Many hidden gotchas.
    1.  You have to make a Trust File for your custom panel.  This is actually in the SDK, around page 53, so my bad -- but the problem is that there is no feedback from the Adobe application if you don't have this.  The application just hangs.  It should produce an error message "can't find trust file, etc.".  This should not be that hard to implement.
    2.  The latest Flex SDK does not seem to work in Bridge CC or other similar applications.  You have to use Flex SDK 3.x, apparently, and this is NOT in the documentation.  Not only should you set the default SDK in Flex Builder to 3.x (I'm using 3.6) but you have to edit the build.properties file to make sure it's pointing to the correct folder, eg: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)/sdks/3.6.0.  Fortunately Flash Builder 4.7 comes with 3.6 installed.  If you have an older version, it's likely to be completely different.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 Fails to Start

    Folks,
I have just installed Flash builder 4.5 on a windows vista machine. When I launch the flash builder, I get the message"Failed to create Java Virtual Machine" and flash builder doesn't start. In the past, I have installed, Flex Builder 3 in the same machine earlier and used it without any issues. can some one help me!!!
    Thanks
    Tvp

    Hello guy's.
About this error I know that comes from the ini configuration file that is in Flash Builder default folder:
    (in my case)
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\FlashBuilder.ini
so those 4 parameters are like - how many RAM you want to use to create the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
    My default parameters are:
    -Xms384m
    -Xmx512m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    -XX:PermSize=64m
also I have 16GB RAM, i5 processor and x64 bit machine... so, when I duplicate those values here I get the same error like tvp_82 has.
It seems that Xms and Xmx cannot be bigger from (Xms512m,  Xmx1024m).
Just for a record ... there are another config files inside the "sdks" folders with the same parameters for the JVM:
    (in my case)
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.1\bin\jvm.config
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.0\bin\jvm.config
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\3.6.0\bin\jvm.config
Inside those files there is only 1 parameter (java.args=-Xmx384m -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false)
And be sure that your FlashBuilder.ini ... and those jvm.config files are with same value (like in my case - Xmx384m)
    IMPORTANT:
Howewer I know this because when I start using Flash Builder everything works perfect until my project grows up.
Now I am so close to my first release of my project and I cannot compile the "Release Build"... I can create only "Standard Build" and "Fast Package build"
I get this error when I try to create IPA build for iOS devices:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/948366
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4171044
Like you see, already spent a month, but still nothing from Adobe... or just to give me directions what's happen with this error.
So.. the errorcan be result of my project code, or by JVM small memory.
Howewer I need to know what is the problem before I do changes in my code.
Anyway I don't have time to recode my app... if I am not sure that - my code is the problem for this error.
So please if you are familiar with something like this... post me.
Thank you guy's and I think that I help you with your issue.
    Regards

  • Flash Builder MXML Editor Crash

I'm creating an air project. Everything works fine until I made a small modification that when I want to load the mxml in the editor it starts loading and stops responding. I have to open in the text editor to try to find any errors but without success. The program runs and debugs perfectly but there is something that the editor can't open (it does not show errors)
I try to clean the project, validate... No result.
Any idea to what to do? This happened in early versions of flash builder and now at 4.6.

I also have this issue. It has only just started happening in the last few days. I don't know where I can report this issue or bug but now I can not open my default application mxml class to set a stop point. I have read that this is a recursive issue in the IDE where it gets stuck in a loop but that is all I know. Looking at the log it looks like a recursive issue. I've lots many days on this already.
Does anyone konw of a solution? I even upgraded my RAM which I thought might be the problem.
    Flash Builder 4.7 Mac
    thanks

  • Flash Builder 4.6 won't start on my Mac 10.7

I'm having trouble launching Flash Builder 4.6. It worked for a while, but now it boots, says its loading the workbench and then it silently quits. I've tried deleting the metadata folder and also renaming my workspace folder. Are there any other solutions to this problem?

Ask in the FB forum. This sounds like a program related issue, not an install problem.
