Flash player errors
the player keeps showing errors, on most websites inc facebook,
bmw, mercedes etc. Never had this problem before. It shows some actionscript error - like if it was in debug mode for some reason.... got the latest one 10.1 - using firefox 4 - same thing happens on firefox 3.6.6 & opera 10.6
It's possibly a router hack.

If the systems are in two different locations, that might explain it.

Flash Player error messages from browser?
Hello.
So a client I'm building assorted things for gets these annoying error dialog boxes popping up in web pages that I never see myself. But they are akin to those I would see if I were running a SWF locally from my hard drive in my Flash Player. I've tested for these errors repeatedly on different servers and different computers and am coming to the conclusion that there is something peculiar about the way their Flash Player in their browser(s) is configured. Have they somehow installed a debug mode of Flash Player? Have they turned on some annoying verbose mode? If so how do I tell them how to turn it off so that they can realize that the way things look in their office are not remotely representative of the way Flash is rendering things on 95% of the computers in the world (and 100% of the computers I have tested things on)?
Thanks for your time.I have searched through every book, forum, and found nothing
on suppressing Flash Player error messages from the browser. If
it's really not possible, this is terrible news. It's nice to think
that we'd encapsulate everything in try catch methods, but come

Flash Player error message when starting .exe
I have published a quiz on our local intranet in .exe format.
It runs fine and actually submits results (unlike the .swf files)
via Outlook. I created the quiz on a Windows XP machine running
Captivate 2.
The only problem I am finding is with certain machines, when
they go to run the quiz, they get a FlashPlayer error message that
says : "Cannot create file C:\DOCUME~1\iddem\LOCALS~1\Temp\Personal
Care final.swf" . On other machines, I don't see the message at
all.
If they click OK, it runs the quiz fine. My question is
whether there is a setting in Captivate I can change to avoid
having users see this message.
Thanks for any help you can provide -
Anne GoldenbergerI don't know for sure, but believe an .exe is (supposed to
be) the Flash
Player and the .swf file essentially 'zipped' up into an
.exe. So when
you open the .exe, it auto-extracts to the user's temp folder
and the
swf is told to play using the bundled Flash player.
HOWEVER, recent posts indicate at least some of that is not
true, or not
working as it should, in that if a user doesn't have the
Flash player
installed, the .exe won't work (swf doesn't play). So perhaps
the issue,
assuming my previous assumption is true, is the .exe is
supposed to make
the Flash player available but is not, or is directing the
swf to use
the installed player instead...which fails if the player is
not
installed....
SO, point being if that's all true, that's why the user's
temp folder
may be coming into play - the .exe is trying to extract to
that
location. Is the folder path different for each user -
showing their
username in the temp folder location?
Why the error is occurring or how to fix it, I'm not sure.
Emptying the
user's temp folder sounds valid. Maybe it's just too 'full'
and hitting
some quota limit? Or perhaps the temp folders have some sort
of
permissions restriction (which would be silly)?
At least the file works despite the error...

Adobe Reader not opening PDF Portfolio - Flash player error
I have Acrobat 9 Standard installed on my PC and I created a PDF Portfolio. Acrobat Standard can open that Portfolio just fine.
I also have Acrobat Reader installed (11.0.2).and have Adobe Flash Player (11.7.700.169) installed. Both Reader and Flash Player work fine independently on PDF or Flash content.
However when I try to open the PDF portfolio with Reader, I get the following Error:
:"To view the Flash technology in this FDF file; please install this version of Flash player that supports Adobe reader and Acrobat".
The Dialog box with the message above has a [Proceed to download page] button (which does nothing but bring up Reader with a black page), a [Learn more] button (similar behavior), and a [Cancel] button. Both Reader and Flash are the latest versions as of today (4/16/2013).
Any help or insight with this is appreciated.
Thanks !

X Pro and Flash Player Error with web-based PDF readbook
Everytime I try to view a web-based PDF book (with multiple PDF files) I get an error/alert that reads:
"To View the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat."
I am currently using:
IE Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
Adobe Reader X 10.1.7
Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.4
Shockwave 12.0.2 Development
I have all of the appropriate settings enabled/disabled in the browser. Before I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro the files opened perfectly in IE9. I believe, but am unsure, that I was just using Reader X at that point.
Of note...the PDF books in question still open perfectly if I DOWNLOAD the file and open it from the desktop. The issue is when I try to view it in the browser(a setting enabled in the preferences). This is an issue because I don't have the time or space to download these files and need to view them in the browser for efficiency.JohnPublic wrote:

You would usually get this message if you don't have the Flash Player plugin installed. However I do not quite understand why you get that message when viewing a PDF in the browser, but not when viewing it from your local disk. -
Can't install Adobe Flash player ERROR. Please help
I tried to download the update of Adobe Flash Player BUT every time I try to download it... Look at the screen shot. ERROR.
Please help me I am really happy if someone here can help me.Hello,
The log file indicates there are permissions issues on a couple of files and they are not being removed. This is preventing the installation of the new version. Please run the uninstaller, posted here Uninstall Flash Player | Windows, and post an updated FlashInstall.log file, and a screenshot of the files remaining in the /Macromed/Flash directory after running the uninstaller. Please only run the uninstaller and do not attempt to re-install at this time.
Thank you.

Installing flash player(error internet explorer)
When I try to install flash player is gives me an error message that I need to get
out of internet explorer. what does that mean?It means that you need to close all Internet Explorer windows.
If you still get that message after closing IE, check with the Task Manager (Processes tab) if iexplore.exe is still running in the background.
P.S. you must also close any Messenger applications that are running. -

Hotmail ad is causing Adobe Flash Player error (REVISED)
Hi,
This is an updated version of my question (see original question posted here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/874194)
I'm now using Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 (32-bit edition) on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine and using Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.34.
In my original question, I was receiving the following error. I am still receiving the following error. Whenever I check my e-mail on Hotmail, I get the following error:
Here are some problems:
1. When I click on "SETTINGS," the dialogue box closes, nothing else happens, and the problem doesn't go away, even after I restart the browser.
2. I also tried using the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash Player Square (beta) and received the same error.
3. The problem appears to be caused by a sidebar ad on the Hotmail home page.
4. I must use Hotmail.
5. I must use Internet Explorer for various reasons.
I would like to not have this error box pop up all the time.
Any suggestions?Hi, I wasn't sure if that would make a difference or not. I'll see if I can find the Hotmail contact info for you.
Actually, I wouldn't want to prohibit Flash Player from putting this warning up. There is a reason and it is for your Security. As far as that Setting not working, that in my opinion is a good thing. Re-read what that Setting does. Why would that URL/ad site need to communicate with the Internet? For what purpose? Trojans like to communicate with the Internet too:-)
You nor I have no idea what this site is all about or even up to. I'd be very careful with this until I knew more about it.
I would run a full scan with your Anti-Virus and then I would report this URL and the circumstances to them.
My problem is that this URL was flagged and that it wants to communicate with the Internet. Now I've seen hundreds of ads and have not received anything like that message with that wording.
Let me know and I'll get back to you with some Hotmail info.
Thanks,

Hotmail ad is causing Adobe Flash Player error...need a fix or workaround
Hi,
I'm using Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 (64-bit edition) on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine and using Adobe Flash Player "Square" 10.3.162.28 ActiveX 64-bit.
Whenever I check my e-mail on Hotmail, I get the following error:
Here are some problems:
1. When I click on "SETTINGS," the dialogue box closes, nothing else happens, and the problem doesn't go away, even after I restart the browser.
2. The same problem occurs even when I use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer with the latest Adobe Flash Player.
3. The problem appears to be caused by a sidebar ad on the Hotmail home page.
4. I must use Hotmail.
5. I must use Internet Explorer for various reasons.
I would like to not have this error box pop up all the time.
Any suggestions?
Thanks...OK, here's the workaround I found:
To fix the pop-up security error:
1. Google "Adobe Flash Player Global Security Settings Panel". Here is the link I found:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l#117502
2. Select "Always allow" from the settings panel.
3. Close the browser and re-start it.
This may not be an ideal solution, but it has been extremely painful to have to close literally dozens -- if not a hundred -- error boxes that kept popping up every day while I check my e-mail. -
Adl Error : Adobe Flash Player error: could not load cURL library
Hi people,
I am trying to get this code working --
var loader;
$(function() {
loader = new air.HTMLLoader();
loader.addEventListener(air.Event.COMPLETE, complete);
loader.load(new air.URLRequest('http://www.lilpirate.net/blog')); });
function complete() {
$(loader.window.document).ready(function(){
$("#texts").val($("#header",loader.window.document).val());
alert("Complete!"); });
I get the Complete! alert message, but the textarea with id texts is not updated with the data in #header which is on http://www.lilpirate.net/blog
I think this is happening because of the error message adl is throwing.
I'm running Fedora 13 x64 and have installed flash player correctly(firefox test). I also have libcurl and libcurl devel packages installed.I'm getting the same problem. No explaination of why, and
downgrading all my security to DANGEROUSLY unsafe levels doesn't
help, nor does setting anything in the settings app. (Have you ever
used a slower application?)
I did find (using a Google search) a blog that pointed me to
the article located at this address:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=13530cdd
I don't know yet if it will help, but it appears to be on the
right track.
Good luck. -

I continually get an Adobe Flash Player error #1009.
If some out there can assist me with this issue I would really appreciate it. I have spent hours with HP IT and they tell me that the issue is resolved, but an hour later it is back. The error message states "Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
