Flat File Connector

Are there any connectors in OIM Connector Pack that can provision(reconcile) to(from) Flat File?
Or I do have to write my own one?
Yes, I know about Generic Technology... But what about trusted reconcilation?

Flat file connector : provisioning failed

Hi All,
I'm developing a custom flat file connector, so that when a resource is provisioned to a user the connector will dump the user data to a file. I have created the connector and plugged in it OIM. When I'm provisioning the user, The provisioning fails throwing the following exception. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance for help.

Custom Flat file connector

All,
I have a clustered environment with OIM 11gR2.
And I have developed a custom flat file connector using a schedule job and it is working properly.
The issue is when I run the job manually, it is running only on one node from which I triggered manually. In this run, the calll not at all going to second node.
Please let me know how to make it is being processed in all the nodes that are in the cluster.

There are 2 ways to create Scheduler in 11g.
1. Extending SchedulerBaseTask - 10g approach. This requires that jar file containing the code to be placed in ScheduleTask folder in all the servers of weblogic cluster.
2. Extending TaskSupport - 11g approach. This requires importing metadata for scheduler and registering the scheduler code as plugin.
If you following approach 1, check if the jar file is placed in all the managed servers of weblogic cluster.
For the second approach, since it is registered in DB, job trigger would work from any member of the cluster.

Availability flat file connector?

Is there any flat file connector (ex: loading accounts from .csv file) from oracle. Bcoz, i didnt see connector in the connector download list. If yes can some one help me giving that link. if not, Any guidance on how we can build this connector.

You want to load accounts from .csv file to Oracle Identity Manager?
In That case, you can create a Generic Technology connector (GTS) for csv file, both trusted and un-trusted reconciliation, Using Oracle Identity manager user and admin console.

Help required in OIM-OID LDap Synch and GTC flat file connector

Hi Experts,
I am using OIM 11.1.1.5 with OID LDap Synch enabled. I have OIM protected with OAM 11.1.1.5.0 and almost all normal things are working.
Once I am doing TRUSTED FLAT FILE GTC recon to OIM, the users are getting created in OIM without any password and due to that my users are not getting created in OID(Ldap Synch is enabled);

In 11.1.1.3 OIM, I found the password was available for mapping in GTC connector, but in OIM 11.1.1.5, oracle has removed the password mapping attribute.
Can you please suggest?
I checked with Oracle Support, They are saying in OIM 11.1.1.5 they have introduced a new post process event handler which should generate the password on every trusted reconcilication event.
But in my environment its not behaving like that.

Problem performing flat file reconciliation in 11gR2

In R1, I had configured a simple GTC flat file connector that worked well. I've now updated to R2 (well actually, I've done a clean install), recreated the same connector configuration and tested with a text file that worked in R1, but this time, it doesn't work. I've added the following lines in my oim server logs config to have a better idea of what's going on :

It looks like something is wrong with my reconciliation profile, so I've gone to the Design Console and created a default reconciliation profile for my GTCCSVTEST1_GTC Resource Object, but it did not help.

That's it. I've just learned that a Reconciliation Rule is created automatically when a field is set as "Matching Only" when configuring the connector. I had such a field in the initial configuration, but skipped this step when configuring the connector in R2.

Flat File Transfer from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP Business Connector 4.8

I have a requirement of transferring a flat file from my R/3 SAP 4.7 Box Application Server to the Business Connector 4.8 Box. I am new to SAP Business Connector and I am not to sure whether FTP works if I use a shell script in SAP R/3. Also, is there any way Business Connector Box can pull the file from R/3 Application Server and store the file in the Business Connector Server.

Hi,
There are many ways thru which you can pass document to SAP BC:
You can HTTP, FTP, Email document to SAP BC.
SAP BC has predefined services for all of them.
For FTP document to SAP BC:
1 Initiate an FTP session on SAP BC Serveru2019s FTP listening port ( this can be found out from SAP BC administrator or from SAP BC homepage).
2 Point to the directory that contains the service to which you want to pass the XML
document.
Example cd \ns\Purchasing\SubmitOrder
3 Copy the XML document to this directory using the following command:
put XMLDoc.xml
Where XMLDoc.xml is the name of the file that you want to pass to SAP BC Server.
Example put PurchaseOrder.xml
Above code can be written in a batch file and you can schedule it to run at interval of minutes.
You can write java client program as well to upload file and map it to String variable of Flow service of SAP BC.
As Micheal said, you can look at sapbc/Developer/doc folder to look for more options.

Standardize a flat file format w.r.t OWB

Can u help me to standardize a flat file format with respect to OWB?
I have 15 financial source systems. The client agreed in giving the data in csv format. Now I need to standardize the feed file so that it would be easy for me handle it in OWB. Please note depending on my standardization the client would give me the data and in turn it would be easy for me to handle it OWB External Tables. The records size for a single feed file is 1 million. So my questions are
1.How should I standardize a date field in flat file?. Please note target date field is default date in Oracle.
2.How should I standardize an address field? I.e. normally here I have 3 address fields. But I want the output in 1 field. What is the best possible methodology to do this? Or can I handle this issue in OWB front.
3.How should I standardize a feed file name (generic)?
4.How should I standardize a feed file folder (generic)? Please note the folder will reside in UNIX environment. The concept is, there would be respective folders in UNIX and the feed files would automatically fall into these respective folders in a fortnight basis. So what should I do to achieve this? I know I have to write a shell script for the automatic process. If so how will I do this and schedule it.
5.And w.r.t above question, how will I tell OWB to go and fetch the files in those folders. I know it is done while mapping. But my question is Is that the only best way I can achieve it?
6.If I left anything related to feed file, please tell me?
Please note that based on my standardization, the client would extract the data and give it to me. So if I standardize the feed file which would be easy for me to handle it in OWB, then that would be a great success. And also note this is for a long run. Minimum 10 years.

It's all very theoretical indeed, talking about standards and all. I'll try to answer some of your questions according to my experiences.
@1, Usually we load flat files into external tables using varchar2-fields only, occasionally number fields; dates however are always loaded into varchar2's and then when reading the external table into the staging area they are converted to Oracle dates using a simple TO_DATE transformation.
@2, I don't think there's a real standard for that, it should simply meet YOUR needs, so when loading EXT into STG simply perform a transformation concatenating those 3 fields to form one.
@5, you have to register the location where you have defined your flat files, this should be some Unix location; after that the connector between EXT and STG will know what to do when running the mappings from EXT to STG (thus: no other action is needed to 'tell OWB' where to fetch data from flat files).
As far as I know there a no standards in naming conventions for files and folders, just go with what seems logical/practical in your situation.

Error in Performing Flat-File Reconciliation

Hi All,
I was trying perform flat file reconcilation using the GTC Connector. The format of my flat file (PPSLocal.txt) is like this:

After that i performed the connector configuration mapping and ran the respective schedule task which displayed the following error message on console:

However, to my amazement, the reconciliation event for all the user are getting created in OIM Design console;
I have tried changing the directory /home/GTC permission to 777 also but it didnt help.
If anyone has any clue on this, kindly help.

AS you are saying that fiel is there.
Can you please tell me how your recon sch task is running, I mean to say at what interval or once or daily ?
If you are putting your file in parent form it is going to archive after recon. that';s correct and your recon manager is getting users that is also correct it means your recon si working fine.
Now to run this recon second time you have to put one more fiel with new records or updated records in the parent dir otherwise it shows error.
For me it is not showing any error.
As user774847 is saying that it is known issue, i can't comment on this as I am not getting this error. I get this error only when i don't put any flat file in parent dir and i run the sch task.
Just put new file or updated one for each time you run the SCh Task and make the SCh Task ONCE or Daily.
Let me know if errors are still coming

Rdbms table to flat file: error at creation of flat file

i created a mapping in which , i want to transfer data from a rdbms table to a flat file.I created the flat file using owb and gave the location of the flat file as E:/........./folder.When i try to deploy the mapping. The flat file isnt getting created .validation and scripts are ok, but deployment is failed with the below,error.
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges.
Create failed.

With 11gR2 of OWB you will need to either grant CREATE ANY DIRECTORY privileges to the target user so that when the directory is created when the OWB connector is deployed will work. Or the other option which is more secure is to have the dba create a directory and grant read/write privs on this directory (and when creating the connector in OWB, reference this SQL directory in the database). The CREATE ANY DIRECTORY option is ok above to get up and running and understand what is going on.

How to change destination of flat file?

Hi,
I'm using OWB 10g R2. I need to change the destination of my flat file output.
This is what I did:
1) Unregistered location from the control center
2) Changed the path
3) Re-registered the location in the control center.
This didn't seem to work. Still all my files are going to the old destination. Does anyone have any ideas to get them to go to the new destination?

You will have to re-deploy the location.
The location in the database points to a directory. This is done through a connector.
This has to be altered.
There are two ways of achieving this:
1) Drop the location (connector) and recreate pointing to the new file-location
2) ask the DBA to change the directory (will not be reflected in OWB though)
You can see the location by issuing the following query
select * from all_directories
One will have your location name (or part of the name is the location name)

Map FLAT file to oracle table using 9.04 version - PLS HELP!!!!

I am having a problem with mapping a flat file to oracle table. The validation is successful, when I go to Project/Deployment manager. Try to deploy the mapping itself and the target table. It said succesful, and the last step is another "Deploy", this one is fail. Saying could not locate the file (which is a flat file) , but it is there on the server.
I have read all the help on line and follow what they show me, but still not work
Any ideas? Please provide detail answer if you know it.

Variant 1
1. connect to user sys
2. grant read,write on directory <connector_name> to <target_schema>;
or
Variant 2
1. as user sys or system give CREATE_ANY_DIRECTORY to <target_schema>
2. manualy make CREATE DIRECTORY <connector_name> as '<full_path_to_directory>';
and enjoy :)
PS: <connector_name> you can take from script CREATE_TABLE wisch in Generation phase was created!

Flat file format - importing vs typing it out

Hi. I've heard there is a way to import the format (rather that typing it out in connection mgr) of a fixed width flat file. What r the general steps or where is there a set of instructions online? I generally have a txt doc with column
names (lots of them) , widths etc that I would use for import and could easily transfer them to a spreadsheet if necessary.   So far the word import is bringing up a lot of unwanted subject matter in my web searches.   I am spending a lot
of time typing out flat file formats in conn mgrs and am thinking it may be worth a look at ssis's ability to "import" a format.   We generally land our data in "untyped" staging tables 1st so ssis could assume everything is string.
I dont really want to read my records as one long string and parse them later.

First, is any old guid ok in each of the places where a guid is indicated? I would generate a new one for each guid.
Second, what is the locale id?
Of course i would only paste the results in a pkg (dtsx file) that doesnt reference the cols (beyond the connection stuff) yet.
What gotchtyas am I looking at if i try this with the intention of pasting the generated code over the top of what ssis already generated (inside the dtsx file) in a one column connector created the usual way?
