Flat file test files

Hi
Does anyone out there have an example of a flat file that can be changed for testing. The files we are tesing are:
IN: Ship Notice/Manifest (856/DESADV)
IN: Shipment and Billing Notice (857)
OUT: Shipping Schedule (862/DELJIT)
Hope you can help
Ian T

Hi Ian,
Did you get a reply to this posting from anybody ? or managed to find some flat file examples. We are in the process of finalizing our EDI implementation and findingn documentation about the document formats has been a furstrating exercise.
Would be interested to see how you have gone with your search. We have implemented inbound PO's and outbound invoices at the moment, but want to work on a number of other things.
Cheers
Ben

  • How to add parameter to the test file

While we do the 3rd party test, can we add arguments or parameters to the "Test File" which will be loaded by Browse? Since we may have a lot of similar tests, just need to give different parameter for doing similar but different work. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Jason

heyy i could find the solution to it....so am closing the thread..thanksss

Advice on constructing a test engine and formatting a spreadsheet test file to perform command line interface testing on a range of products through telnet or serial interface and output pass/fail results.

If I understand correctly, you want to do the following:
    1. Create one or more tab-delimited files that specify a series of query strings (that LabVIEW will send to your products) and expected reply strings (that LabVIEW will look for in response to each query)
    2. Run your LabVIEW program (the test engine) and have it execute one or more test scripts from file using either TCP/IP or serial communication to your units under test
    3. Track how many of the queries are met with the expected response, and output an indication of whether each step passed or failed
If this is close to correct, then I've attached a sample test file and LabVIEW VI as an example; I chose the TCP/telnet method because it allowed me to use the ni.com Web site to simulate my tes
t hardware. If you happen to own the LabVIEW Internet Toolkit, there's a VI called "Telnet Play Script" in the Telnet palette that does something fairly similar using TCP. The same general model would also work for Serial communications.
    Hope it helps,

    Hello j. smith,
TestStand gives you the ability to create "sequence files" which are lists of tests to be run sequentially or in parallel. These tests can be written in any language: LabVIEW VIs, C/C++ DLLs, EXEs, ActiveX objects, .NET Assemblies, etc.
You can run your TestStand sequence files from a command-line prompt using the following syntax:
    \bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -run
This will launch the TestStand Sequence Editor (and optionally prompt you for TestStand login information if you have this configured), run your sequence file, then exit.
If you're using the TestStand process model, it can output your results to a report file or database if you configure this. To use a TestStand process mo
del to execute your sequence file, use the following syntax:
    \bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -runEntryPoint
    Here's an example:
    C:\>"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.0\bin\SeqEdit.exe" /quit -runEntryPoint "Single Pass" "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.0\Examples\Demo\C\computer.seq"
Note that multiple sequences and sequence files can be specified on the command line.
TestStand supports remote sequence execution using DCOM (Distributed COM), which is an east way to remotely execute tests. But as for running tests or commands through a telnet or serial interface, you would have need to check Windows documentation on how to execute command-line remotely like this.

  • Problem with loading  data from file in ../demo/file/test

    hi there,
I am using ODI to load text files located on a UNIX server where ODI is installed.
I am using the FILE_GENERIC data server and physical schema that came with ODI and I can reverse and load the demo files located in ../demo/file
    I created a sub-directory 'test' under ../demo/file and placed a file there.
When I try to reverse this file (in directory ../demo/file/test) I get the error 'The directory ../demo/file/test specified in your schema does not exist'
I am sure the userid has equal rights to both directories ../demo/file and ../demo/file/test
    What could I be missing?

    In the topology manager
    1. in the logical architecture : If it doesn't already exists (it should exist if your can use it on your local PC), you import the file technology
    2. In the physical architecture, you create your data server for files .In your case, it shoud already exist for same reason as above. Is has a blue icon under the file technology
    2. Select the Data Server, right click and select Insert Physical Schema . The Physical Schema window appears. On Definition tab, enter a name and then the path of your directory in the data schema field. No need to enyter a work schema for files.
    4. Go to the Context tab, Select a Context and an existing Logical Schema for this new Physical Schema.
Select an existing Context in the left column, the type the name of a Logical Schema in the right column. This Logical Schema is automatically created and associated to this physical schema in this context.
It should work but i have never experienced it on a Linux system...

  • HOw to upload test files in XI directory

    Hi all,
I want to upload test file from my local system to XI directory. how can i do this. There is one customized transaction cg3z for this . but consider that this is not available in my case. Is there any alternative way to upload the file in to XI directory.
    Thanks and Regards
    Sachin Sharma

    Hi,
if client and server are in same network the u can configure your file adapter using NFS protocal.
if they are in different network the you can upload using SXDA_TOOLS tcode.
The porcedure to put a file on server is as shown below:
    1. Save your file in your local machine.
    2. In XI server, enter the tranaction code "SXDA_TOOLS".
    3. In the input screen, enter:
    i) Object Type "DXPROJECT".
    ii) Program Type "BAPI".
    iii) Program "CREATE".
    4. Press Copy (Ctrl+F5) button.
    5. Now, you will get another screen in which you will see 3 blocks called as "Source", "Target" and "Copy with/without conversion".
    6. In Source block, choose the radio button "Presentation Server" and then take F4 help to select your source file. (file which you have saved on your local machine)
    7. In TARGET block select the radio button "Application Server", check the box "Remote server" and take F4 help to select your application server.
    8. In the same block under "File Type" select "P physical file name" and under "File Name" write the path/directory name which you have mentioned in your communication channel along with the file name.
Example: suppose file name in your Comm Chanel is "demo.xml" and directory path is "/abc/testfiles/XML/", then in step 8 write "/abc/testfiles/XML/demo.xml".
Note: need not to do any thing in 3rd block.

  • Lock box config and process to test with test files

    hi gurus,
can anyone help me in providing documentation and test file( BAI fomat) totest  the functionality.
My client wants to delevelop this functionality.
    thanks in advance..
    regds,

    hi
Lockboxes are a procedure used mainly in the USA to enable checks to be deposited more quickly. The checks the bank sends to you are entered as credits by the bank, and the information entered is sent to the payee using File Transfer. The lockbox files must be formatted per the BAI standard format.
Under certain circumstances, the bank transmits a data carrier to the payee several times a day; the carrier bears the important check information.
From this data carrier, postings are then generated for accounts receivable and G/L accounting.
Lockbox service has the following advantages for the payee:
Better liquidity, thanks to faster collection, depositing, and crediting of checks
    Reduced processing workload
    Procedure
To import lockbox data, proceed as follows:
Choose Incomings ® Lockbox ® Import.
    You reach the initial screen.
Specify the path and file name of the lockbox file.
    Specify the import options.
    Choose Program ® Execute.
    ===========================================================
From the SAP Easy Access Screen select Accounting ® Treasury ® Cash Management ® Incomings ® Lockbox ® Postprocess or Accounting ® Banking ® Incomings ® Lockbox ® Postprocess.
    2. Enter the required data and choose Execute.
The selected lockbox data is displayed in a hierarchy. The icons in front of each line show the status of the check. The following are possible status entries:
    ¡ Posted
    ¡ Posted on account
    ¡ Partially applied
    ¡ Not posted
Proceed as follows to display the check status:
    a. Choose View ® Other Display
The screen for displaying lists appears.
    b. Click on the ALV icon Layout settings and choose Change layout.
    c. Select the Check Status field in the dialog window under Column List.
    d. If you want to use the field in the column list, click on the left arrow and choose Copy.
The system displays the check status.
    3. Edit Payment Advice
¡ In order to edit the payment advice, double-click on the Payment Advice field in the list display. Change the data you want to correct, save and choose Back.
¡ If you want to change the account or account type, show the Account and Account Type fields as described for the Check Status field. Both fields are shown in the list display and you can change them directly. Choose Enter to save the changed data.
If you want to ensure that your changes have been saved, double-click on the Payment Advice field and choose Payment Advice ® Header.
    4. Choose Checks ® Post to resume the automatic posting of changed checks.
Hope this helps. please assign points.

  • I have 4 flash test files.  Firefox does fine butv IE9 only displays two of them

I have 4 flash test files.  Firefox does fine but IE9 only displays two of them. These display vertically and are just Flash moves of rolling text.  Firefox diplays them fine but IE9 only shows two to them: 1 and 4a.
    flash_words-1.swf
    flash_words-2a.swf
    flash_words-3a.swf
    flash_words-4a.swf
Can anyone tell me how to fix it so that IE9 displays all four  of them?
    The URL is http://www.manhattes.com/home.html

On 1 and 4a you are using the gobbledegook of
    AC_FL_RunContent
    for Flash detection.
while 2 and 3 do not.
AC_FL_RunContent is a pretty old embed method so either apply that method to 2 and 3 or switch all 4 to swfobject:
    http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/
or simply embed using a single <object> and no IE conditional statements (<!--[if !IE]>-->):
    <object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">
      <param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
      <param name="SomeOtherParam" value="ParamValue">
    </object>

  • Open Hub Destination with Flat File - Structure file is not correct

Using the new concept for Open Hub destination (NOT an InfoSpoke).
Output is to a Flat File. Remember that when output is to a flat file 2 files are generated: the output file and a structure file (S_<name of output file>.CSV)
The Output file structure corresponds to the structure defined in the Open Hub destination.
However, the S_ (structure) file does not reflect the proper structure. The S_ file lists all fields sorted in alphabetical order based on the field name, instead of listing all fields in the correct order that they appear in the output file.
I have not found any settings that I can modify for the S_ file. When using InfoSpokes the S_ file is correct and I do not have to do anything.
The issue is that the S_ file cannot be used to describe the output file. This is a problem.
Anyone knows a solution to this issue? The goal is to get the S_ file to reflect the proper structure.
I could not find any Notes on this. Please do not send general help links, this is a specific question.
Thank you all for your support.

    Hi,
However, the S_ (structure) file does not reflect the proper structure. The S_ file lists all fields sorted in alphabetical order based on the field name, instead of listing all fields in the correct order that they appear in the output file.
As I know and checked this is not the case. The S_ file has the fields in the order of infospoke object sequence ( and in transformation tab, source structure).
I would suggest you to control it again.

  • Error when using %@ include file="/test.jsp"%&

    UsingNitrox version 2.1 M3 (build 419 06022005):
with jdk version: 1.5.0_03 and Tomcat 5.5.9
This is the error  when using <%@ include file="/test.jsp"%> in jsp:
    Severity     2
The type java.lang.Object cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files (test.jsp)
It used to work in previuos version of Nitrox. I can't use struts tiles because the tiles content is dynamic (run time) and I need it to be static (at compile time).
Have you encountered this problem? What is the fix? Nitrox bug?
    I need your help please,
    Alberto

    M7,
I found the problem  . In the java Build path having the default (ALL) is not picking up the content of the package. I had to use add multiple and include all the folders and subfolders (many L) in my packages. After that I added *.java and *.properties to select all the java files. Now it is working. I assume this is a bug in Nitrox. The default ALL should include the all the files in the path.
    Thanks,
    Alberto

  • Testing file-xi-file scenario

    Hi,
I did configuration (completed both the parts of the weblog )for transfering the file-xi-file using the weblog
    /people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/03/introduction-to-simple-file-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart2
but I didnt understand how to test the scenario.
Can any one plz help me on this??
    Thanks,
    Vasu

    hi vasu,
to test the Scenario as mentioned in weblog.
    you need to:
    1. make a text file naming <b>input.txt</b>.
    2. Place this file in the folder mentioned in the File   Sender Communication Channel.(/Test in Weblog).
Take care of the slash(/) when u give the path of the file.
    3. In the file u give contents like:
    Firstname1,Middlename1,Lastname1,City1
    Firstname2,Middlename2,Lastname2,City2
    Firstname3,Middlename3,Lastname3,City3

Could be privs on OS or database level. Check and see what happens if grant yourself the DBA role. Check if the database software owner (ps -ef | grep pmon) is allowed to write in that directory and/or create a file in that directory. Does the OS make use of ACL's (and/or is, for instance Secure, Linux used)....?
