Flex 2 Stacked Bars with Negative Numbers?

Hi guys, the strangest thing: I have a client requesting
sacked bars for bar charts/column charts however, I can't seem to
get the negative numbers to go below a positive x-axis.
Do these bug logs suggest I need Flex 3?
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FLEXDMV-921
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FLEXDMV-1181
and if that's the case, how will upgrading effect my current
project?
Thank you.

Great, as in another thread defined and discused, i am
a scripter, not a programmer, but i like oaying with math.
Daves method is easy, but what about Random( -300,1200).
that must be a huge array to initialize.
my function has a restriction:
it works only, if there is a zero in the range or you'll
never get the highest number of the range. Also it can only have a
linear range.
Dave can input a list like this gRandomChoises = [
1,3,5,7,11,13,17] , what can be very usefull in some cases.
Cheers,
Wolfgang

  • Apex 3.2 SVG Chart - How to plot Stacked Bar With Negative Values ?

Currently Apex 3.2 Flash Chart (AnyChart 3.x) does not support Stacked bars with negative values.
I try with SVG Stacked bars with positive values only, chart ploting works fine. When I add a new series with negative values (i.e -1) and I get a blank Chart region with no error.
Based on this statement from Apex's documentation:
*"AxisLine Indicates zero on charts that have negative values."*
I appreciate your help on how to translate this statement into action ?
(i.e how to override .Axisline class in CSS section ?)
Thank you very much for your time.

    User614143,
try to add the minumm negative value (but positive) to the parameter for the axis.
e.g. show value+3000 (assuming -3000 is the minimum value)
If you don't have a limitation for the negative values, it doesn't work. (or try to calculate first the most negative value in a before header process)
    hope this helps.

  • Diverging stacked bar chart in Numbers?

Am looking for instructions on how to create a diverging stacked bar chart in Numbers. I can create this type of chart in Excel, but I want to provide the instructions to someone else who uses Numbers.  For an example, see figure 3 on this page: http://realnumeracy.wordpress.com/2013/12/11/diverging-stacked-bar-charts/  Thank you in advance!

Create a table where the first row is a header and the first column is a header.
To make a header select the row(or column) then use the contextual menu to convert to a header:
    similar procedure for a row.
Enter the data for your chart.
select columns B and C by clicking the column header for column B, then shift-click the column C.
Now select the stacked, horizontal bar chart from the charts menu:

  • Colum Chart - (3-D) Stacked : compatible with negative values ?!

    Hi,
In our VC model we are showing a Column Chart - 3-D Stacked.
On our development server everything works fine. (the query gives positive values for the KPI's only btw)
In production the bar chart is not being displayed. The bar remains on value 0. I'm quite sure this is related to the fact that we have some negative values on production for some of our keyfigures that we need in the chart. Many others are positive. This is not compatible with stacked charts I think, but.....on our quality environment the chart works fine with negative values for the same KPI's as well. The negative values are more or less ignored in the graph on quality.
So my question is : Is it correct that negative values are officialy not compatible with VC stacked charts ? Why is it then working (ignoring the negative values) in some circumstances and other circumstances not ? The only difference between quality and production is that the KPI values are different but the same KPI's are negative anyway on these environments. The models (queries and VC model) were transported from dev->QA and to production.
    thanks for any feedback.

    Hi Todd,
Depending how you look at costs, it's not expensive.
A single developer license of Anychart 5 costs USD 499.00 - 15% if you use the APEX15 promotion code.
If you spend a couple of days trying to integrate with something else you easily went over that amount.
So really, it depends in which perspective you look at it. The workaround with Excel, is that really an option? How long would it take for every person wanting to see that screen? How long would it take before you get to $440?
Anyway if you wait till next year, Anychart 5 is included in APEX 4.0 and you have it out of the box.
    Just my thoughts,

  • Stacked bars and negatives

    hello all,
I'm having an issue with stacked bars.
When a value in negative it actually treats it as a positive when drawing the graph!
    As an example:
    1
    2
    5
    -4
Will bring the bar up to 12 instead of 4.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

I usually put a 30sec black slug after the tone and bars. Any idea how to do that? I can insert a gap ok but can't seem to set it's end point to 30sec duration.
Ooops - sorry Frank - I went to Mark's Rippletraining site and thought it was he who'd posted the link . Thanks for that pointer! Looks like an interesting resource.

  • Stacked bars with "stairs" in WAD

    Hi everybody,
I've got a special problem in Web Applications Designer. I know how to build a chart (type: stacked bars). But is it possible to get these bars displayed like stairs?
    It should look like this:
    <--100%--
    >
    70----
    ****************|---20---|
    ***************************|10|
    "*" represents empty space
In comparison to a normal stacked bars chart (w/o stairs):
    70----
    20-----
    10
    I would appreciate any help.
    Best regards,
    Christoph Riesel

    Hi Frauke,
Sorry for late answer and thank you much for your comment!
The problem is that waterfall or delta diagram always show the end values and not only the start value and the interim values.
In the meantime I learned, that the name of the diagram I want to see is called "pareto diagram".
My conclusion from other forums contributions regarding "Pareto" is, that you need to calculate with cumulated key figures.
As BEx is not able to calculate with cumulated key figures (BEx always calculates with non-cumulated figures) the only solution would be to create a "cumulated key figures" in the InfoProvider directly. This makes it quite complicated as these cumulated key figures should be based on TOP20 customers in our reporting...
So maybe the best solution is to use a different diagram type if you consider "cost-benefit ratio" instead of Pareto.
    Regards,
    Christoph

  • Stack Bar with floating series, invisible or transparent series

In Excel, I have several stack bar diagrams that have invisible, hidden series that make the remaining visible series appear to be floating.  What is the best way to do this in Xcelsius.  The only solution I have found is to use the "iTheme" theme, and make the invisible series the same color as the Plot Area.  Is there another method or theme?
I am not a fan of the "iTheme".  I have experiemented with other themes, but other themes' texture, gradient makes it impossible to fully hide the invisible series.
Is there another theme out there with a "flat", no gradient feel, with no shadow, or series border (or a series border you can control)?

hello Ultim4t3, maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]] or in case there is no new version available at the moment or this doesn't solve the issue, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

  • Rounded corners BUT with negative numbers

In illustrator it's very easy to round the corners of a rectangle. But what
if you wanted to get the effect of a rectangle whose corners round inward
instead of out. I've tried assigning a negative value to the rounded corner
dialog box, but illustrator won't allow that. Would anyone know how to do
this? It would be a great addition to illustrator to allow you to assign a negative value.

    Hi again,
I tried with the FPGA_PID_LPFIR.vi and it works fine.
There's no problem with negative setpoint.
    Attached file :
This is a bit more complicated code since there's quadrature counter and SELECT in the pid loop.
**I must point out the fact that there's a SELECT  between an int16 analog feedback and an u32 quadrature counter.
I don't know if it can interfer with the int16 setpoint labeled in french "CONSIGNE_ENTREE"
I can't do futher testing at this time because the FPGA is actually in production mode.
But I'm setting up an other computer with the same model of FGPA (PCI-7833R) in order to investigate this problem.

  • Stacked chart with negative values

Is it possible to create a stacked verticle bar chart that can display a negative value below the bottom line? Currently, all of my my charts are displaying negative values as if they were positive and the only way to know that the value is negative is to hover over the bar and read the hint.

  • Plotting XY graphs - with negative numbers

    hi!
    i have two arrays..
    the array A and B
i connected the 2 arrays with XY graph, because i want to plot the data contains to the two arrays
the problem is that the XY graph don't plot the negative elements...
    why??
    thanks a lot!!
    andrikos

These arrays were just indicators. You need to change the data itself. Easiest would be to insert "ToI32" after "boolean array to number".

  • Modulus with negative numbers

Slight problem using modulus. When I try to take the modulus of a negative number I get the original number back. An example is (-92%26) returns -92 rather than 12. Does anyone know a workaround??
    Thnx~

In Java you can get two types of mod or remainder in the class BigInteger.
    BigInteger b_92 = new BigInteger("-92");
    BigInteger b26 = new BigInteger("26");
    System.out.println(b_92.remainder(b26).toString());
    System.out.println(b_92.mod(b26).toString());
    System.out.println(String.valueOf(-92 % 26));

  • Problem with Stacked Bar Chart

I have a problem with a stacked bar chart in Numbers 09. My chart is a single series with 6 categories. All of the categories have different values. The first 5 categories display correctly. However, the last category does not display in the color its supposed to, but rather shows up as white/background instead of the grey color shown on the legend. However, the value label is displayed in the proper place.
When I select other chart types (pie, regular bar, or regular column) the category shows up like it's supposed to.
This is kind of annoying since I would rather use stacked bar instead of a pie chart. Is there an upper limit on the number of values it can display as a stacked bar chart? Is this just a bug? Thanks!

Here's my result with six values in a single series. I double clicked the last bar to change its colour from the default grey (which was visible) to magenta.
    Numbers 2.0.3, iBook G4, OS X v10.4.11
(Shot in the dark:) Try double clicking the value label, then changing the order position of this item.

  • Flex char 100% with negative values.

    Hello.
I have in my app a chart (cartessianchart) with a columnset
    of 100% columseries.
All is fine until negative values appear in the series. For
those negative values, the representation dissapears.
I have ported my app to use "stacked" series instead of 100%
ones and i make the 100% conversion programatically.. but this
seems to me like reinventing the wheel..
Perhaps it is not possible to use 100% bars with negative
    values...
Could you take a look to the code i submit and send me your
    ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Aman,
DB not restarted during this time.. we don't have production access. we will get awr report automatically from customer daily. also i am getting issue in our local environment v$rowcache view gets values is negative for dc_users and dc_tablespaces parameter may be it's related production issue...

  • Problem with stacked bar query

    Hello,
I tubbing a while on this already and probably the answer is right there.
I have table with date, product, qty column and I want a stacked bar with the sum of quantity for each product for a certain period.
so period is the label but how can I created the sum(qty) for each item and display it in a stacked bar?
    Thanks for the help

    Hi Irvine,
If you want to try and make a stacked bar chart, you will need to add a new serie for each product you'd like to see in your chart. I don't see any other way to make this generic for each product in your products table.
But if you like to make a new serie for each product i'll give you a small example on how you can do this.
First create your chart and fill in a query for your first product:
    example:
    select product,substr(p_date,4,3),sum(quantity)
    from table
    where lower(name) = 'keyboard'
    group by product,substr(p_date,4,3)
This will give you as result: the sum of the quantity for a certain month for the product 'keyboard'. This will be your first serie.
Now go to the chart attributes and choose 'add series', now you can add the serie for the next product, f.e.:
    select product,substr(p_date,4,3),sum(quantity)
    from table
    where lower(name) = 'mouse'
    group by product,substr(p_date,4,3)
Do this for every product you'd like to add to your chart.

  • Negative Numbers importing wrong

I have a Stored Procedure on my SQL Server 6.5 DB that returns a list of decimal values (sql datatype is decimal(5,2)), of which most are Negative numbers. When the procedure is run in a SQL tool (MS Query or ISQL) the values are returned correctly. When the stored procedure is called in Java, all values (negative or positive) are showing up as zero.
I have tried all of the following ...
    double d = rs.getDouble(1);
    Float f = rs.getFloat(1);
    Double d2 = new Double(rs.getDouble(1));
    BigDecimal b = rs.getBigDecimal(1);
String s = rs.getString(1);The value returned by the procedure should look something like -14.75 but when using System.out.println(f.toString()); it is shown as ".00". I have even tried exporting the data out of Java into MS Excel to see if it is just something funny with the System.out.println() statement but it shows all zeros in Excel also.
Is there anything special or a specific data type that must be used for negative numbers to read correctly in Java? I've searched the forum, tutorials and API (1.3) and haven't found anything like this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

So why do you say the error has something to do with negative numbers when (in your own words): "all values (negative or positive) are showing up as zero"? I don't know what your problem is, but negative numbers probably ain't it.
