Flex Mobile for iOS - debugging on device

Hello,
Is it possible to provide self-made certificates for packaging for iOS like Android allows?
Thank you.

oooooh nooooo
you have to pay Apple first
and then request a certificate and provisioning file
and then try and figure out how to convert the certificate to a .p12 file
and cross your fingers and hope they will allow it in their store
and you have to own a mac, although there are some convoluted ways to get a certificate using a pc you still cant get onto the store without a mac

  • Flash Builder 4.5: debugging Flex Mobile application on Android Virtual Device

    Hi,
we are trying without success to debug a flex mobile application in Flash Builder 4.5 on an Android Virtual Device (AVD).
We can debug with real Android devices via Flash Builder 4.5, by using a standard Mobile Application debug configuration with "On device" launch method, but emulated devices are not listed in the "Choose device" Flash Builder 4.5 window.
The emulated device is correctly listed by "adb" command line tool, as the following screenshot shows:
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.0\lib\android\bin\adb" devices
    List of devices attached
    emulator-5554   device
("emulator-5554" has been created and started with Android AVD Manager standard Eclipse plug-in)
By using the adb command-line tool we can also install applications on the emulated device, but we'd like to use Flash Builder 4.5 directly, without manually using adb.
Many thanks in advance for any direction.
PS: we can debug with Flash Builder "internal" android emulator (the one used with "On desktop" launch method), but we want to use the more "realistics" android emulated devices provided by Android SDK (Android Virtual Device (AVD)).

well that's just ... oh what's the word I'm looking for? ... um ... ah yes - inconvenient.
I've been wrestling with this too. I use VDs with eclipse all the time, I'm wondering why it's not supported in flashbuilder. I mean, it's just a VD that runs on a virtual port, plugs into the editor like a read device would - right?
I'm going to take a wild stab at this and say it probably has something to do with running a program inside (Air) a virtual machine, running inside a virtual machine inside a virtual device?

  • Flex Mobile App eats memory on device

    Hi,
I have my flex mobile app that manages a lot of bitmapdata objects. Every bitmapdata is disposed after use. It's a multi-layer drawing app, and I have many SpriteVisualElements displayed on the screen. Every SpriteVisualElement contains 4 SpriteVisualElement that I use to paint different images. The problem is that on device (iPad2) the app eats a lot of RAM. It's not a memory leak problem (the memory is properly released when I return to the first view). I don't know what to do... please help me!
ps: on Flex profiler the app seems to consume 6 times less RAM

  • HT202794 About Free Apple Apps for iOS 7 compatible devices

iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated or purchased after September 1, 2013.
The first time you launch the App Store in iOS 7 on your qualifying new or factory refurbished iOS device, you will be offered iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for free in addition to other free software from Apple. When you tap Download All and sign in with your Apple ID, the apps will download to your device and appear in your store account. If you tap Not Now when you see the offer, you can search for the apps in the store and download them one at a time for free
On my new iPad air the apps listed are not free on the App Store for me.

You are logged in with the account that activated the iPad ? Try tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in see if they then show as free.

  • VPN fails for iOS and Android devices

L2TP and PPTP VPN set up on OS X Server 3.0 fails when connection is made from iOS or Android device. When connecting from a MacBook Air running Maverick it all works fine. Exact same client settings are done on iOS and OS X.
When connecting from OS X, Server VPN log shows all the details. But when trying to connect from iOS and even from my Android, there is not a single entry in the Server logs that anything even reaches the server.
I checked using TCPMon and using PPTP and was clearly showing that packages were forwarded to the server. But still nothing showed in the log.

It's a known bug and will be fixed with 10.9.1 according to the Apple support.

  • Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

    Hi All,
I'm happy to announce the open preview of the Hamachi mobile client, a great new tool for bringing Hamachi networks into reach from an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet!
    Try it!
    Here’s what you do:
Log in to the preview site with your usual LogMeIn ID: https://preview.logmein.com
Add mobile clients and configure how you want them to connect.
To do this, click Add Client and select Add mobile client. Then simply follow the on-screen instructions.
Keep in mind that the mobile client is deployed by sending the required VPN settings in a configuration file via email; it is not an app you download from a store. As a result, there are a few restrictions:
A device can join one gateway network or multiple meshed and hub-and-spoke networks
There is no peer-to-peer connection from the device
Here’s a little tip: If you have connection problems, go to the Preview site > Edit Client > Mobile tab and check the Last login field for the result of the last connection attempt.
Let us know what you think at our LogMeIn.com email of Hamachi-Feedback.
PS:  You may be prompted for a PIN Code when setting up the VPN.  This is your Device's Unlock code, and it is not being requested by us.
Note: The mobile client is free to use during preview, but is expected to be a premium feature upon release.

Having some difficulty getting the mobile client to work. Here's my first question. Using IPSec as the protocol, the preview image of my Android config shows what appears to be the default (or top line) choice in the pulldown menu for each of the three certificate options:  IPSec user certificate    (blank) IPSec CA certificate    (don't verify server) IPSec server certificate    (received from server) Are those choices correct as shown (and should be reproduced in my config), or should the installed certificates be selected and named instead? If it's the latter, which certificates go on the user and server certificate lines? Next question: for the PPTP protocol (yes, I've been trying both), is it correct that no certificates are used and therefore none are sent in the configuration email (even though the email continues to say "open the attachment on the device to apply the configuration")? Thanks for help,  -Stuart

  • Can you realise firefox mobile for low-end android devices like Samsung GT-I5700 Galaxy Spica?

Now the realised version of Firefox doesn't work on low-end Android devices.

Probably not. The ARMv6 version was very unstable, and always crashed, according to the knowledge base.

  • Flex 4.5 build for ios

    HI,
Right at the beginning of my flex journey and so I'm using examples to see how stuff is done.
I have done the recent adobe flash builder update and can make simple flex builds for ios, google android and blackberry. Cool.
I have sourced a demo flex 4.5 project that was done for android (I think before the update) but when I go to do a build for ios
the option on the drop down is not there (just has google, no ios or blackberry) So I guess the project thinks its in pre-update mode
So the question is, what is causing the drop down to only have google, is there some library/framework/script I need to add or something
so this demo flex project that was writen for android can be tested on ios.
    hope this makes sense!
    thanks
    mike

    OK
    I found it project>properties add a device

  • Air for iOS, why isn't the setting for device being remembered?

in flash CC with air3.7 and air3.8, everytime i open the general tab in the air for ios settings, the device is marked as iphone and ipad. i change it to iphone only, close the settings, save the file. when i open the settings again, i have to click on the general tab and the device is set back to iphone and ipad.
i consider this a bug. this has never happened in any other version of air. i had to reject an apple binary when i noticed it was set to be a universal app, which it isn't, and had i not caught the error, i would've been waiting only to be rejected by apple...
how can this be fixed? thanks

iOS 7 apparently requires at least 512MB of RAM. The fourth generation iPod touch only has 256MB, and therefore won't get it.

  • FB 4.7 AIR 3.6 Flex 4.9 iOS packing - Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError'

I've got an error similar to Isaac_Sunkes' 'FB 4.7 iOS packaging - Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError',
but the causes are not related to what he discovered, corrupt image or other files, I'd exclude bad archive contents in my project.
    I'm using Flash Builder 4.7 with Adobe AIR 3.6 set into an Apache Flex 4.9.1 SDK;
    HW system is:
    iMac,    2,7 GHz Intel Core i5,    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3,    NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB,    OS X 10.8.2 (12C3103)
The Flash project consists in an application with a main SWF file which loads, via ActionScript methods, other SWF in cascade.
I've formerly compiled and run the application on an iPad 1, IOS 5.0.1 (9A405), but got on the device the error alert:
    "Uncompiled ActionScript
Your application is attempitng to run
    uncompiled ActionScript, probably
due to the use of an embedded
SWF. This is unsupported on iOS.
    See the Adobe Developer
    Connection website for more info."
Then I changed the FB compiler switches, now are set to:
    -locale en_US
    -swf-version=19
Please note that without the switch    -swf-version=19     the application is compiled correctly and the IPA is sent to the device
and I can debug it, but iOS traps secondary SWF files and blocke the app usage, as previously told.
they work on deploy of small applications,
but, when I try to build a big IPA file either for an ad-hoc distribution, either for an debug on device, after some minutes long waiting, I get a Java stuck, with this trace:
Error occurred while packaging the application:

I've tried to change the Java settings on FB's eclipse.ini in MacOS folder,
    -vmargs
    -Xms(various settings up to)1024m
    -Xmx(various settings up to)1024m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=(various settings up to)512m
    -XX:PermSize=(various settings up to)256m
    but results are the same.
Now settings are back as recommended:
    -vmargs
    -Xms256m
    -Xmx512m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    -XX:PermSize=64m
    I've changed the Flex build.properties
    jvm.args = ${local.d32} -Xms64m -Xmx1024m -ea -Dapple.awt.UIElement=true
with no results; now I'n get back to the standard:
    jvm.args = ${local.d32} -Xms64m -Xmx384m -ea -Dapple.awt.UIElement=true
    and now I truely have no more ideas;
    could anyone give an help?
    many thanks in advance.

I solved this. It turns out the app icons were corrupt. After removing them and replacing them with new files this error went away.

  • JavaFX mobile (Android/iOS) update?

    Hi all,
as I am quite desperately eager to start JavaFX mobile development,
I would like to ask, if somebody has any update on recent status and progress, if any.
I have found quite a lot of news titles like 'JavaFX for iOS/Android soon!' at the beginning of the year, but not any other update since.
According to Javaone 2013 Session Updates
there should have been some very interesting presentations at JavaOne 2013 last week:
JavaFX on Android: First Insight [BOF7791]
Build and Debug Your JavaFX Application for the iPad [BOF5517]
JDK 8 for Oracle ADF Mobile on iOS and Android Devices [CON3783]
Can anybody point me to some recent information?
    Thank you

I am unaware of anybody submitting a commerical iOS app based on JavaFX to the Apple app store.
I don't think it's JavaFX, but BadLogic Games has a RoboVM based demo game on the Apple app store.  I tried it on an iPad 2 and was very surprised at how responsive it was.  I was expecting noticeable input lag, but there isn't any.

I know the politics of getting JavaFX on iOS, Android, and WinRT are complicated, but I'm still hoping Oracle changes their mind.  The idea of Microsoft, Google, and Apple controlling the mobile platforms top to bottom doesn't strike me as something that's going to be good for anyone (else).  I'm rather amazed at the faith everyone is putting the idea that Microsoft, Google, and Apple won't leverage IE, Chrome, and Safari to give their SaaS initiatives the advantage.
I'd rather hedge my bets with the JVM and Linux than trust 3 companies who have been making obvious moves to close up and control the computing industry.  Honestly, look at the setup.  They all have hardware branches now and they already control the OSs, the native runtimes, the browsers, and the primary distribution channels for their respective platforms.  Oracle should be worried about getting anything on those platforms 5 years from now.
IMO, they should be pushing ADF and JavaFX on mobile, not trying to choose one or the other.

  • Adobe Reader for iOS and Android & Rights Management

This week's release of Reader for iOS and Android devices incorporates support for accessing files secured by Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management.
As you are probably familiar, LiveCycle Rights Management protects sensitive documents by encrypting them with industry-standard AES encryption and enabling central management of their access permissions. Protections persist even when documents are accidentally distributed via email, the cloud, or saved on a lost mobile device.
Many of the core capabilities that you are used to on the desktop versions of Acrobat and Reader are now supported when you are on the go on your tablet or mobile phone. We intend to incorporate additional functionality in future releases of these mobile devices and look forward to your feedback.
We've had several questions thus far about how this works. More information about the product, as well as a link to an FAQ can be found at:http://blogs.adobe.com/security/2011/10/just-released-adobe-reader-10- 1-for-ios-and-android.html
    Jonathan

    Hello Jonathan,
is there an way to trigger iOS download to immediately open using "Adobe Reader"
instead of using the default Previewer (showing an plain empty white window) and then re-open it using "Open with" ?
Is there an MIME-Type to indicate IRM-protected PDF-files?
    Thanks,

  • QuickCast - no corresponding app for iOS or Android?

Lenovo QuickCast shipps with new Thinkpad's but seems to be completely non-functional. I can't find any corresponding app for iOS or Android devices.

Thanks for your confirmation that this app is useless!
    You Lenovo should try more.
Better is to use iDisplay (works either on iOS and Android) - so! Lenovo you don't need to make the mobile versions. We already can have it!
    Thanks once more!

  • ANE for one platform on Flex mobile project for iOS and Android

I'm very new at Flex Mobile Projects and native extension.
I have a big doubt... If I have an ANE that only works on iOS or Android, can I use it into a project for Android AND iOS?
I mean, if I want to do something and I've only found and ANE that works for iOS and another ANE that works for Android, can I create only one project and depending on the device use one or another? or should I create two different projects?
    Thanks in advance

You can set them both up and when you publish just comment out the code that does not apply, this way you still keep it as one project but you can use the ANEs as needed, I had to do this with the iAd ANE only for Apple obviously and AdMob ANE which at the time was Android only.
    Example
    //Android ANE Code
    blah blah blah
    //iOS Code
    code code code
Now when you publish for iOS comment out the Android related stuff
    //Android ANE Code
    blah blah blah
    //iOS Code
    code code code
Also dont forget to update your included ANEs when you publish and remove the ones that dont apply and update the XML files as needed. Its possible, but annoying, it would be nice if it was automated or could be flagged somehow so the Flash publisher would auto ignore it.
