[Flex SDK in Linux] Errors running a .swf file

Hi! Trying to set up flash development on my linux machine. Using FDT in Eclipse. The version of Flex sdk I have is 4.6.0.23201-2.
I have in the first place had problems running the project. It gets terminated instantly and I get this output in my terminal:
[Info] Listening to port 7935.
Using Flex SDK 4.5 Debugger Adapter.
[Info] Could not connect to the player, will try to connect for the next 72000 ms
[Info] Listening to port 7935.
[...etc etc...]
[Info] Could not connect to the player, will try to connect for the next 8000 ms
[Info] Listening to port 7935.
[Info] Could not connect to the player, debug session stopped. Maybe you do not have the Debug Flash Player installed.
Does "the Debug Flash Player" here mean Flex?
And this is what happens when I run the .swf file that is compiled by FDT (Using Flex..), in Flex: http://justpaste.it/dlr3
Any idea what could be the problem? Thanks!

Hey Mark,
Thanks for replying.  It's a standalone swf.  I'm still stuck on this issue.  It seems like it would be simple but it's baffling me.

    I am stumped

    " I then assign Vehicle to document class box in the property box" Do not assign the Vehicle as the document class... remove it from there.
    In the main file, if you didn't already create one, create a movieclip symbol (just draw a shape in it for now).  Right click the symbol in the library and select the Linkage option.   In the interface that appears, select the option to Export for Actionscript, and assign it the Class name "Vehicle" in the field labeled "Class"
    Make sure you save the Vehicle.as file after you put the code into it and have that file in the same folder as your Main.fla file.
    If you do the things I just described you should see an instance of the movieclip moving across the stage when you run the file.

    Hi,
    >>do you recommend using auto undo_management instead of RBS?
    Yes. To simplify management of rollback segments, the Oracle9i database introduced Automatic Undo Management (AUM) where the database automatically manages allocation and management of undo (rollback) space among various active sessions. In a database using AUM, all transactions share a single undo tablespace. Any executing transaction can consume free space in this tablespace. Undo space is dynamically transferred from committed transactions to executing transactions in the event of space scarcity in the undo tablespace..The AUM feature also provides a way for administrators to exert control on undo retention. You can specify the amount of undo to be retained in terms of wall clock time (number of seconds). With retention control, you can configure your systems to allow long running queries to execute successfully without encountering ORA-1555 (Snapshot too old) errors ...
    For more information, you can take a look on these links below:

  • Problems running local swf files

    I recently developed problems running local swf files in

    stopped working. Any ideas why the local files no longer work and
    how I can correct it?

    Hi Aquasue and welcome to our community
    In addition to the usual suspect fellow Adobe Community
    Expert Steve pointed out, the Flash player itself may be to blame.
    If you recently upgraded to the latest version (8 I believe) it
    imposes security particularly when using .SWFs locally.

  • Flex SDK 4.5 error in compiled resource bundle

  • Flex SDK Download - checksum error

    Hello,
    I downloaded the Flex SDK from
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/downloads/
    When I unzip it (with WinRAR), I get a checksum error.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.

  • IPhone SDK beta 4: error running app on device

    My app ran fine on my iPhone up until beta 4. I've fixed in in accordance with the changes to the SDK, and it runs perfectly on the simulator. I've also followed the directions in the Program Portal to use code signing for the app.
    When I try to compile it for the device, I get the following errors:
    cc1obj: error: /var/folders/pA/pAvrzjzKGQe5O6saRJWAXE+TI/-Caches-/com.apple.Xcode.501/SharedPrecompiledHeaders/iCrosswordPrefix-ayguzoobuyunjzbvsayctaqnkcfp/iCrosswordPrefix.pch: No such file or directory
    cc1obj: error: one or more PCH files were found, but they were invalid
    cc1obj: error: use -Winvalid-pch for more information
    I get about 7 copies of those errors, once per header file in my app.
    Does anyone know what this means, or how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Eliza

    Sorry, I'm an idiot; I didn't clean my targets before compiling. After cleaning targets, it installed and ran without any trouble.

  • Help for PowerPoint 2007 crash when running embedded SWF file with latest Flash Player?

    I have developed in Xcelsius 2008 SP4 a dashboard with only Excel as the source. I output to PowerPoint and then save it as a PowerPoint 2003 PPS file. On more than a few machines that have PowerPoint 2007, PowerPoint crashes when I attempt to run the presentation. This happens only with later versions of Flash Player. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the latest Flash Player but it still crashes. However, when I revert back to Flash Player 10.1.159..., in PP 2007 the presentation runs perfectly.
    With regard to the error I receive in PowerPoint 2007, it is as follows:
    Error Signature:
    AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 12.0.6500.5000 AppStamp:49a68f9d
    ModName: flash10u.ocx ModVer: 10.3.181.34 ModStamp:4e011a1d
    fDebug: 0 Offset: 003a893c
    Of note is that this behavior does not happen in PowerPoint 2003 nor does it happen when the file is saved as a SWF and launched directly in the browser on the problem machines.
    I have to assume that this has happened to others so any help you could provide would be VERY appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello,
    on the first glance I see these: data="file:///Macintosh HD/Users/user/Documents/Website/Working.swf", what means the path to your swf file is pointing to your local hard drive which nobody can see except you. Please replace all thes pathes with the correct ones and load up your file(s) again.
    If the problem remains, please send a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like..

  • Flash error from Captivated swf files

    I need to load swf files made in Captivate into a Flash file. Everything has gone smoothly except for a Multiple Choice quiz swf which shows this error in Flash:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
              at com.adobe.captivate.main::cpSoundHandler/com.adobe.captivate.main::getSoundInfo()
              at com.adobe.captivate.main::rdPacemaker/pace2()
              at com.adobe.captivate.main::cpMovieController/com.adobe.captivate.main:cpMovieController::m ovieonEnterFrame()
    The quiz can still be taken even if there is an error but when the main swf file is viewed, the error pops out and has to be dismissed. Is there a fix for this? Any help would be appreciated!

    loadMovie() is the best option if you want the external swfs
    to appear in the same browser window as your menu. you need a
    target movieclip into which to load the external swfs (or use
    loadMovieNum() ).

    I gave it a try and got the same error. Then I started looking at the code:
    When you create a new file, the program starts looking for a font which supports japanes (don't ask me why). If it doesn't find any it throws the error you posted above. I was able to create a new file after I installed ttf-bitstream-cyberbit from AUR (first font supporting japanese I could find).
    You should contact the author and submit a bug report. Even if the program really needs japanese fonts, which I doubt, failing like this is just bad.
