What is the function module used to insert LOGO to our Normal Report.
Not to the ALV Report. It's Normal REPORT.
Else How we can insert LOGO to our Normal REPORT.

These are the steps to be followed for uploading graphics in R/3 system

4. Give your TIFF file path name
5. Select Bcol (for Color)

8. Execute the program
9. Now Goto SE71 create your ZFORM
10. Create logo window
11. Goto text element of logo window

1. Goto SE71 Change the mode to GRAPHICAL
2. Choose the Graph Tabstrips
3. Now type in some name for the LOGO WINDOW
4. Press the IMPORT BUTTON (third button from left) and then IMPORT the BMP file from your DESKTOP
5. The code will be written automatically. You just need to drag and drop wherever you want
the graphics to be.

At first you have to upload the logo in the application server using transaction 'OAER'.
1. Go to Transaction OAER,
2. Give Class Name as PICTURES

6. Now you can use the same name in your ALV FM
In your ALV program, you need to have event for TOP_OF_PAGE, and also this works only in case of Grid not in ALV LIST.

I have searched the SDN forum and seen only a few posts for inserting a logo into a query, but still not 100% sure.
Basically, how to insert a logo into a query that will be there everytime the query is ran? Not a workbook, but a query. Also, how to get it into a specific cell?

I put the select from list option and I can see the "workbook" that has formatting. Meaning...
1. I ran a query and inserted logo, formatted font
2. Saved as a workbook
3. In Analyzer I selected Settings -> New Workbook on Embed
4. Now open query
5. I get the popup to select my query...I select it
6. I now get an option to select the workbook to embed my query in...I select it and all the formatting and logo is there.
So...
Is this how it works? If so, When selecting the workbook to embed my query in it still has all the data/result from last query run. Is there anyway not to have this "old" data show up? In other words, is there a way to create several default workbooks (to embed different queries in from different divisions), so when different divisions run different queries, they can select their "formatting workbook".
Example:
Shoes would have their "Shoe Workbook"
Pants would have their "Pant Workbook"

Follow these steps;
1. Right click on you webdynpro component, create MIME Object->import.
Import the image for with a name for eg: LOGO.JPEG
2. Goto the view where you want to place your logo. Right click on ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER and
insert element->Image.
3.Bind the source property of the Image i.e set LOGO.JPEG as the source.
Now when you run the application the Logo would be visible.

Need help in finding a font for a logo
I was looking for help in finding a font for my logo. I'm not a designer at all, so I'm calling on all the fine designers and folks on the Adobe site to help me out. All replies are, of course, appreciated and any suggestions/comments/ideas will be welcome.
I'm designing a logo for my film company. I wanted to keep it simple but not boring either. I put together the first draft of the logo using Photoshop CS3 and used Trajan Pro for the film company words (Panthera Films) and used Futura for the slogan ("Inspiration through Imagination"). While I don't mind the fonts, it's simple but, alas, too boring. I love the panther image but need a dynamic font for "Panthera Films" and a complimenting font for the slogan.
Can anyone recommend a good combination of fonts to replace the Trajan Pro and Futura? As well, I want to give the logo a nice presence without it being too loud, bold or jumping off the page. As well, should the font for "Films" be the same as "Panthera" or can they be different?
The image I attached is something I was thinking to use as a banner on a website.
Any help would be appreciated too with this

As I said, I like it too.
You may consider making it a bit heavier, maybe bold, for readability at small sizes.
It is hard to recommend a specific font because it should represent your company and what it stands for. Have you tried typing the name in a word processing application (Worst or something better) and then running through all the font you have? If not, that might give you a few new thoughts about the overall kind of font you feel is the right one. And then it is much easier to recommend something. -

Is it possible to programmatically do the above while Outlook is running? If so, I'm hoping to make that change from a Word macro.
I tried tinkering with the reg key and that doesn't work because it appears Outlook only respects it at startup time. Similary changing Word File-options-location of documents is respected only when Outlook starts.
I'm looking to seamlessly keep Outlook's default folder in sync with Word's default folder as the users change working folders in Word, which they do many times per day (and they chose the folder among a couple of thousand possibilities).
I'm hoping there is a difficult-to-find Outlook object I can manipuate to get to the end result. IF there is such an Object I have been unable to find it.

Based on my research, I think outlook object model doesn’t provide the way to change the default folder for insert attachment and save email/attachment.
The way to change it is that we need to modify the registry setting and the outlook app should be restart.

Do someone knows about JSF patterns for using the same page/form for inserting and updating the same entities information ?
2 use cases:
1 --> the user browses a list of objects (DataTable), let's say Employees, clicks on one line and gets redirected to the employee details page so he can update the information;
2 --> the user wants to create a new employee and goes to the same page which is empty.
The way I am actually doing it: I have an employeeForm page and an EmployeeForm managed bean (session scope) which contains an instance of Employee. This Employee is initialized when an empty form is needed or sent by DataTable controller when employee details' are requested.
This is not really nice to my point of view since the EmployeeForm controller has to re-initialize it's Employee instance after each usage.
Does someone has a link or can provide a comment for a "best practise" on that topic?

Fabrice.I think you should consider using the request scope of the employee bean, when navigating from dataTable to employeeForm overwrite the bean with the value from datatable

Upload Logo for REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE
For those who wish to upload and use a picture in your ALV abap reports.
Steps for uploading Logo :-:
1. Goto the transaction OAER
2. Enter the class name as 'PICTURES'
3. Enter the class type as 'OT'
4. Enter the object key as the name of the logo you wish to give
5. Execute
6. Then in the new screen select Standard doc. types in bottom window
Click on the Screen icon
Now, it will ask for the file path where you have to upload the logo
7. Now you can use this logo in REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE

Import Logo and Background Picture for Reporting
In this step, you can import a customer-specific logo and a background picture into the R/3 System. These will be displayed in the header area of reports in HR Funds and Position Management.
From the SPRO:
HR Funds and Position Management --> Dialog Control --> Customize Reporting Interface --> Import Logo and Background Picture for Reporting.
Activities
1. Enter the Name of your logo/background picture as an object key in the initial screen.
2. Make sure that the class name is PICTURES, and the class type is OT.
3. Choose Execute.
4. Double-click the document type Picture on the Create tab page. A dialog box will appear in which you can enter the path in which the logo/background picture can be found.
5. Enter the path and choose Open. The logo will be uploaded into the current R/3 System. If the logo/background picture is to be transported into other systems as well, choose Transport.
6. Return to the initial screen and repeat the procedure after having entered the Name of your background picture as an object key.
Please note that the logo/background picture can only be displayed in ALV-based reports with an HTML header. Manually programmed reports such as business distribution plans are not based on the ALV.
If you have selected several initial objects, ALV-based reports in HR Funds and Position Management will automatically use a hiearchical-sequential display. A logo is not displayed here either. Note also that the logo cannot be printed (see print preview in program).
Make sure that the logo does not exceed a height of 100 pixels because it would mean that the header of the report will be scrollable. -
My final data table contains a two key columns unique key constraint. I insert data into this table from a daily capture table (which also contains the two columns that make up the key in the final data table but are not constrained
(not unique) in the daily capture table). I don't want to insert rows from daily capture which already exists in final data table (based on the two key columns). Currently, what I do is to select * into a #temp table from the join
of daily capture and final data tables on these two key columns. Then I delete the rows in the daily capture table which match the #temp table. Then I insert the remaining rows from daily capture into the final data table.
Would it be possible to simplify this process by using an Instead Of trigger in the final table and just insert directly from the daily capture table? How would this look?
What is the best practice for inserting unique (new) rows and ignoring duplicate rows (rows that already exist in both the daily capture and final data tables) in my particular operation?

Then the "capture table" is not a table at all! Remember the fist day of your RDBMS class? A table has to have a key. You need to fix this error. What ETL tool do you use?

I would like to have a button that show a popup and launch a task-flow for inserting data in the table in more steps.

2) a bounded task-flow having an activity (createInsert before the activities (fragments) to insert a new record), with a task flow return (cancel and commit) to save or rollback the data.
3) obviusly, a button that show the popup for inserting a new record. I have inserted the task-flow defined in 2) as a region in the dialog of my popup.
When I launch my page:
1) I see an empty form (instead of seeing the first record)
2) the data inserting on the popup are not saved
3) the second time I try to launch the popup, I see nothing, only the OK button of the dialog.
I know, in the new version of Jdeveloper it is possible to insert a task flow in a popup, but is it possible, in the previous (my) version?

Andrea1) You are seeing an empty form because you are probably calling CreateInsert method of your data control. You should call it only if you are going to create a new record. Also, if this is a new record, you should not show the tabs below. In my case, i am doing like this:
There are 3 pages, ListPage, CreatePage and Edit Page.
User first enters to List page (because it is the default activity in taskflow), to list Master records in a table. There are also 2 buttons, Create and Edit. If Create button is clicked, CreateInsert method is invoked and then CreatePage is called. In create page, there are only 1 form of Master's attributes. After user commits, taskflow redirects the page back to ListPage.
If user selects a row in list page then press Edit button, EditPage is called, but without calling a CreateInsert method. You don't have to invoke any methods if your table in ListPage has a SelectionListener (which is set by default).
in launch listener, you can run a method like this:

2) About the X button... This is the biggest problem of inline-popups. As far as i learned from people in this forum, it is not possible to remove that if you use an inline-popup. And it does not invoke returnListener. But, it does a rollback! I think it is a big problem and i am hoping to find a solution too. Using a popup component instead of inline-popup as dialog can be a workaround.
