FMS install

Hello,
after installing FMS on RHEL5, when accessing
http://MY_IP:1111 i get following:
<result>
<level>error</level>
<code>NetConnection.Connect.Rejected</code>
<description>Admin user requires valid username and
password.</description>
<timestamp>Tue 20 May 2008 11:40:44 AM
CEST</timestamp>
</result>
anybody have an idea whats wrong?
Thanks!

It requires admin username & password. usually present in
fms.ini. Correct format of a sample URL is:
http://www.example.com:1111/admin/ping?auser=username&apswd=password
More info can be found in FMS documentations:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flashmediaserver/3.0/hpdocs/help.html?content=Book_Part_35_serv_ man_asd_1.html
However, using administration console
“fms_adminConsole.htm” (can be found in the
installation directory OR from Start Menu (in Windows) ) is a much
more convenient method to check server status.

  • FMS install as user?

    Hi,
My hosting company doesn't provide me access to the commands
to install FMS (errors below). I can pay them to install it but
starting and restarting would presumably have to be done as root.
Is it possible to install FMS as a user?

Unfort you can not do so with FMS 3 on Linux. I installed it

  • FMS install questions

I have installed one FMS on my dedicated server.
And the OS is Linux Red Hat Enterprise 4.
I installed it by the default manual.
It indicates that I have to enter ./installFMS and answer
    following question.
The install process didn't show any error messages.
But when I test the FMS server.
I found it is unable to load any applications.
Only the port 1111 returns response, but the port 1935 is out
    of response.
And the process in my dedicated server only loads "fmsadmin".
I don't know if there's anything wrong in my setup process.
Could any one help me to figure out these questions?
    Thanks for your kindly help...

    Hello
    I had a simular problem.
change to /opt/macromedia/fms/ and try to start the core
programm by hand. if a libary is missing it should be printed out.
start it with ./fmscore but check with ps auxf if no instance
    is running!
On my system (Linux Debian ETCH 4.0) some libs where missing.
    1.) libnspr4
    I installed them with
    apt-get install libnspr4-dev
I dont know red hat, but look out for a file that holds these
    libs
    2.) libcrypto
I had to link them correctly
    cd /usr/lib
    ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.4
    ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.6
    ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.4
    ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.6
After that it started and connections are working.

  • My First Fms Install/Config

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I have installed FMS on windows2003 std on a dedicated server.
The server was running windows media services, shoutcast and IIS6
I have killed all these services and am just running FMS so as far as i know port 80 is not in use
I can connect the encoder using this address   rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live
Does anyone know why i cant just use rtmp://
also if i load the interactive tab on the index page in the webroot, I can connect and i can view the stream but
no matter what code i use to embed the player, they all fail to connect yet i can view the stream on the interactive tab.
As you can tell i am a complete newbie with FMS
    Many Thanks

Yes. I am using FMLE 3.2 .  If i select Stream to Media Server  and use rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live
as the FMS URL:     Stream: (anything)  It will connect,
But using any other FMS URL ie....
    rtmp://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live
    rtmp://xx.xx.xx.xx/live
    rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx/live
I receive the message Problem with primary server, Failure to connect to primary server. Please verifythat your server URL and app name are valid and that your internet connection is working...

  • Need a hand to configure FMS 4.5 to output HTTP stream...

    Hi folks!
I'm trying to setup Flash Media Server (Streaming server) and I'm having issues with outputting HTTP stream.
The system works very well with the Flash ooutput, but for some reason the livepkgr won't work. Tried several things over the past two weeks, I've went thru docs and I don't know anymopre what else I can try... The source of the video feed is upstreamed from my own home computer, via Flash Live Encoder.
I operate a dedicated server, running Windows 2008 Server. The default web site is IIS. I configured the ports so that port 80 is the default IIS inetpub/webroot, and the FMS 4.5 install is accessed via port 8134. So the IP http://184.107.48.113 opens the default Windows IIS, and http://184.107.48.113:8134 takes the request to the FMS install.
The video stream is live on the Flash server, I can see it in the console, the livepkgr appears to be working, and I do see the .STREAM file being generated in the _definst_/livebroadcast/livestream folder. So the server works, and process the HTTP output.
I believe the URL I should use to access the output HLS stream is: http://184.107.48.113:8134/livepkgr/_definst_/livebroadcast/livestream.f4m.m3u8
but it returns a file not found message. Is there something wrong with the URL syntax? Or there is something else in the .conf files I must tweak? Or is it an issue with Apache 2.2 configuration?
You can see the live Flash stream from my web site http://www.blackflag.tv I want to change this Flash stream to HTTP stream.
    Thanks for your help folks!!!

    Hey,
I tried playing HDS now and its working fine. It wasn't playing earlier.
You can try it out by playing the content through the player here: http://www.osmf.org/configurator/fmp/#
    Input: http://184.107.48.113:8134/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livebroadcast/l ivestream.f4m
(Don't forget to select the radio button for HTTP streaming)
This means everything is working on the server side.
Now, I don't have an iDevice on me to check out HLS playback.
You are using an older version of QuickTime, which could be an issue. Please let me know what publish settings you are using (as in the codecs).
Also can you try playing it back through HTML5. To do that, just create an HTML page with the below content.
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Title of the document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <video width="320" height="240" controls="controls" src="http://184.107.48.113:8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livebroadcast/livestream.m3u8"  />
    </body>

I had the same problem on CentOS 6.2 x86_64, albeit not on EC2. It seems that the installer creates a symlink to the i686 libpcap (libcap.so.1 -> /lib/libcap.so.2) and fmsedge won't run with it. Manually removing that symlink and instead linking to the libcap.so.2 in /lib64 solved the problem for me.
    cd /opt/adobe/fms
    rm libcap.so.1
    ln -s /lib64/libcap.so.2 libcap.so.1

  • Using FMS v4.5.5 with a browser-based audio player running on iPad/iPhone

    Hello,
I’m seeking some clarity/guidance on using FMS v4.5.5 (Streaming Edition) with a browser-based audio player running on iPad/iPhone (i.e. under iOS).
    Background
I have a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Web Server running IIS v7.5 and supporting a website built using ASP.NET and C#. Parts of the website allow a visitor to play a selection of audio clips from our bespoke MP3 library. Due to UK music licencing constraints, we must stream the clip to the client browser – we must not download either part or all of the source MP3 file(s). We therefore had a custom audio player built for us some time ago using Flash/AS3. This has and continues to work very well, and uses RTMP to stream the clips from FMS to the client browser.
As our site has become more established the number of visitors has steadily grown. In the early days the number of visitors from the iOS platform was relatively small but, last month, it had risen to 40%! As Flash is not supported on the iOS platform, this growing group of visitors are unable to fully maximise the benefits offered by the website, which I am now trying to address.
    What I’m Trying To Do…
From what I’ve researched and read, I believe that FMS v4.5.5 supports HLS and I need to use this (instead of RTMP) over HTTP between FMS and the iOS Safari client. I have been experimenting with an Open Source player (JPlayer) and a commercial player (JWplayer) and appear to have these playing a MP3 file as a “progressive download” (I think that’s the right term) as all I’m doing is specifying the file path (no HTTP prefix etc.), i.e. the audio is not really being streamed as I require. Unfortunately, I’ve not found / worked out how to configure my FMS to respond to a path request along the lines of:
    http://www.myserver.com/live/audio1.mp3
Hopefully someone reading this who is much more expert on FMS, HLS, HDS, HTML5, etc. than me can point me in the right direction!
    What I’m confused about…
    1) Can all my MP3 assets stay as is and still be streamed to the iOS Safari client? To the best of my knowledge, the key properties of my MP3 files are CBR, 44,100Hz, 320Kbps.
    2) If not, can they be converted on-the-fly by FMS or do I need to create additional audio assets to support HLS etc.?
    3) If I have to manually create additional audio assets, how do I do that (I’ve seen references to tools from both Adobe and Apple but not actually found the kits)?
    4) Some of the Adobe documentation I’ve read implies that FMS support for HLS etc. is only available when FMS is used in conjunction with the bundled Apache web server. As stated earlier, my entire site runs on IIS so does that mean to achieve what I want I’ll have to run two web servers on my physical server – IIS for the website itself and Apache for RTMP/HLS/etc.?
    5) What changes do I need to make to my current FMS configuration to get HLS to work? I’m sure someone has been here already and can enlighten me with their experience and hopefully point me to some straight forward documentation to follow!
    6) Lastly, and really part of (5), once I’ve got FMS configured correctly, what would be the typical path to a given MP3 audio file that I would give the iOS Safari browser to make this all work.
I appreciate this is rather a lengthy first post but hopefully the background puts my questions (and confusion!) in context. Bottom line is… I simply want to be able to stream audio clips only (no video) to iOS Safari browsers from FMS v4.5.5 running on a Win2K8R2 platform with IIS v7.5, and with no audio content being stored (even temporarily) on the iOS platform.
My thanks and appreciation in advance to anyone who can help me achieve this.

    Hi Apurva,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I am not much further forward, despite having read more Adobe documentation (FMS v4.5 Configuration and Administration Guide, FMS v4.5 Developer’s Guide) and trying different configuration options.
First to confirm a point you made when answering point 4 yesterday. Yes, in my current RTMP scenario I have several MP3 assets (let’s call them Audio1.mp3, Audio2.mp3, Audio3.mp3, etc.) that are made available to a bespoke Flash/AS3 player via the LIVE application. I understand that as I purchased the Streaming Edition of FMS v4.5, a Flash-based player is restricted to using the LIVE application. You go on to say that I “publish” these assets to the LIVE application. I set this up a while back but do not recall having to “publish” anything. All I recall doing was to ensure that all the assets (the .mp3 files) were in a single folder and that the folder was identified by the <Streams> tag in the following file (example shown):
    Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\live\Application.xml
                    <StreamManager>
                                    <VirtualDirectory>
                                                    <Streams>/;C:\MP3Library</Streams>
                                    </VirtualDirectory>
                    </StreamManager>
To the best of my knowledge, I didn’t have to do anything else to make the current solution work. Having read more of the documentation I am still none the wiser as to what I need to do (step-by-step) to “publish” my converted MP3 assets (see next paragraph) to the LIVEPKGR application. Please could you explain these steps to me by way of an example.
WRT your answer to point 1 yesterday, I wish to clarify the exact output I need to create when converting my MP3 assets. Am I expected to produce a Audio1.aac file, or a Audio1.mp4, file, or a Audio1.m4a file, etc.? Or am I meant to be using ffmpeg (either directly or indirectly) with a much more sophisticated command line that somehow generates stream-rated info/files as well? An example of how you would use ffmpeg to convert one of my MP3 assets would be very much appreciated.
Lastly, the coexistence of IIS and Apache (ref your answer to point 2 yesterday). That all made sense but given all the testing/changes I’ve been making I thought it wise to start afresh! So I completely removed FMS from my dev server and re-installed Flash Media Streaming Server v4.5.5 with the bundled Apache v2.2 server. When presented with the dialogue “Would you like for Apache to listen on port 80. If not FMS will be using port 80 instead.” I answered NO. When presented with the dialogue regarding FMS server ports, I entered 1935 NOT 1935,80 (should I have done that as the preamble makes reference to HTTP webserver proxy and HTTP Dynamic Streaming origin services?). I then modified the Application.xml file as described above.
To test the new set-up, I did the following. First, the test environment…
    DEV Server
    Windows Web Server 2008 R2 SP1
    IIS v7.5
    ASP.NET v4.0
    Flash Media Streaming Server v4.5.5
    Apache v2.2
    IE v9.0
Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX v11.5.502.146
    TEST Client
    Apple iMac (Intel)
    Mac OS X v10.6.8
    Safari v5.1.7
    Adobe Flash Player 11 Plug-in v11.5.502.146
On DEV Server… launched IE and loaded the home page of my website, which has two elements on it – one to load/run our bespoke Flash player, the other to run JPlayer (configured to use HTTP). I selected our bespoke Flash player and it played a MP3 audio file. I verified this in real-time via the FMS Admin Console on the server.
On TEST Client… entered http://192.168.20.250:8134 into Safari – it comes up with the FMS install completed / test your server page. In the middle of the video display area a black box appears saying “10000 OK” – I clicked OK. I then clicked HDS Single Bitrate – the video plays (Not Using Hardware Acceleration is briefly displayed). There is NO activity logged in the FMS Admin Console back on the DEV server under “live”, “livepkgr” or “vod”. I assume this is because I’ve gone straight to the Apache Server via the port reference – is that correct? Next I tried the HLS Single Bitrate – same results.
The HDS Single Bitrate logs the following in the Apache access_log file:
    "GET /hds-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.f4m HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
The HLS Single Bitrate logs this:
    "GET /hds-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.f4m HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8 HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8 HTTP/1.1" 200 816 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag1Num0.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 1143416 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag1Num1.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 873072 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag2Num2.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 1591984 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    etc…
At this point I’m stuck once again since I’m not clear how to construct the JPlayer HTTP reference. You have suggested:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livestream/livestream.m3u8
That produces the following in the Apache error_log file:
[error] [client 192.168.20.4] File does not exist: D:/Program Files/Adobe/Flash Media Server 4.5/webroot/hls-live
If I change the JPlayer HTTP reference to:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8
the audio from the video plays.
Also, if I look in the applications\livepkgr folder structure there is only \events (with sub-folder _definst_ and sub-sub-folder liveevent) – there are no _definst_ , livestream , streams folders etc. So besides me not quite understanding the logic/flow here, I seem to be missing a few folders/files too! I’d be very grateful for any light you can shed on all this. Plus an example of what my HTTP string should ultimately look like; for example:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livestream/Audio1.m3u8
Apologies for such a long reply but I’ve been at this for over 10 hours today! I feel I’m getting closer but clearly there are still some gaps and configuration errors.
Thanks again for your time, support, patience and understanding.
    Kind Regards, Steve

  • Apache in FMS 4 Developer vs XAMPP Environment for PHP

    1.  Have a Flash Webpage under development designed to permit preview and streaming of FLV video.  Downloaded FMS Developer as a test server on my computer.  Apache 2.2 loads with it with a checkbox option to install it or not. I'm able to stream my video OK in this setup using RTMP://localhost and the FLVPlayback component in Flash Pro.  I like some of the OSMF players better like the one in the FMS Start Screen, but I haven't been able to integrate/embed it into my Flash webpage using the HTML provided.  They say just paste it to the webpage, but in ActionScript how do you do that?  None of the online help really explains how to embed Strobe Media Player into an FLA webpage using their HTML.
    2.  I plan to use PayPal Express Checkout for Digital Goods (EC/DG) as my pay facility on the Flash webpage. My videos will play to a cuepoint and then jump to a PayPal button which executes (EC/DG) .  I'm having trouble integrating PayPal with my Flash webpage.  There's a lot of online help, but most solutions involve PHP.  To help me understand PHP I bought the e-book, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 for PHP" which recommends downloading the XAMPP platform which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL etc.  I have several questions concerning this:  (a) If I use the XAMPP software, as recommended in the Dreamweaver book, do I have to first uninstall the Apache that comes with FMS? I assume you can't have two Apache's running at the same time. (b) Is FMS the Server or is Apache the server in the FMS installation? (c) Does the Apache software installed with FMS include PHP and MySQL, which seems to be required for any server-side coding?
You can see by some of these questions that I'm new to all this Server stuff.  I'm doing it myself because I can't afford to pay the $400 to $500 a month for a Video Streaming Host.  I want to use FMS with Amazon Web Services to implement my Streaming Video Project, but I'm not sure I can do it with all the problems I'm encountering.  Anybody know any "reasonable" developers?   ;-)
    Two final questions:
    3.  Why would I need Flash Builder if I have Dreamweaver?  Don't they do essentially the same thing?
    4.  Can I do everything I'm trying to do in 1 and 2 above just using ActionScript and JavaScript, which I understand is just Server-side ActionScript?
I appreciate any help you can give me on any one or all of these issues.  Thanks

    1. backup your applications folder, fms.ini and any other config files that you have changed in the FMS install directory.
    2. uninstall FMS
    3. reinstall FMS and uncheck the option to install the bundled apache webserver . FMS should be installed on a seperate server as apache. Flashplayer uses port 80 and it  Will conflict adobe apparently bundles apache to be used as demo. I have never gotten PHP and all its modules such as gd to work on their version of apache. reinstall you applications folder and fms.ini(any thing else you backed up)
    4. install apache 2.2,PHP,PHP PEAR(if you ever want to send mail)  install  mysql and mysql workbench on the server machine.
    5. create a text document and change hide known file extensions in the windows folder options so you can change the text files extension to .html(myEmbedFile.html) paste the html provided into this file put it on the webserver and browse to it.
    Resources to keep in mind.
    1. You can use any desktop machine running windows that is has at least 512 mb of ram as development machine. I have installed all the above mentioned servers on desktop machines. I currently use a single quad core destop for all my delvelopment needs and because its a devlopment machine i took port 80 out of fms.ini and installed IIS,Mysql and FMS on it. Keep in mind if you are using windows 7 that you can install apache and PHP on it but I could not get GD (php graphics module) to install on it an currently use IIS. If you do all of this on Linux its not a problem but you may have to find a patch for FMS to get it to install.
    2. if you want to attach your ip adderess to a domain name use dyn.dns their client will autochange your IP address if your ISP gives you a new one or you change a nic card or for any other reason.
You should do everything I've described above to be able to learn and create apps as effiecently and with as little hassle as possible.
You can use a package such as  XAMPP to which will install all the above servers but i prefer to do it one by one and use config files without a config manager and I think its easier to install any sever modules I might want to use in the future to expand my development websites. Your choice though.

  • Using MS IIS and Adobe FMS on same machine

    Hi Everyone,
I downloaded FMS installed it and tried it and it ran well but I have one problem. After I installing the FMS, my designs with Dreamweaver CS4 will not work when I try my design with IIS. Does any know how to make the IIS and FMS run on one machine? I have used MS IIS server to do my web design and tested them out as well with the same MS IIS sever. If any one knows how to get it right please let me know.
    Thanks.
    Joplateau

    Hi,
Thanks for your help, the idea you gave me worked. I am now able to run Dreamweaver and FMS 3.5 together on same machine.
    Thanks a lot.

  • FMS 4.0 recordings Linux permissions

I'm using a Flash Media Server 4.0 developer on Linux.
it required to be installed as root, so this is how its installed.
my application create file captures on the server via publish "record".
file captured are created, but with limited permissions as user "nobody".
is there a way to change the created directory and files permissions as they are created?
    Thanks,
    Ofer

well when I change permissions on a directory i use chmod 777 this is not the most secure directory permissions but should work. chown also comes in handy. Are you sure you have FMS installed and working on linux? Because if you don't know how to change directory permissions from the terminal then I would tend to doubt you have it installed correctly. Then again I've been wrong before.

  • Trying to set up my video site to stream from the "fms server." Any Idea?

I am trying to set up my video site to stream from the “fms server” and the instruction stated that I should create my own new folder in the application directory on the “fms server,” and I have created my directory, which I called “brigma_streams”, and I have copied files from {FMS-Install-Dir}/ sample/Application/vod to my new folder.
I also configured the vod service in the FMS-Install-Dir/applications/(in my-New-Folder/Application.xml file).
Here is the sample of my configuration below:
    <Streams>/;${BRIGMA_STREAMS_VOD_COMMON_DIR}</Streams>
    <Streams>/;${BRIGMA_STREAMS_VOD_DIR}</Streams>
And here is an example on how I modified to my XML streaming:
    src="rtmp://localhost/inetpub/wwwroot/brigma_streams/SanfordNSons768K_002.f4v"
    thumb="thumbs/SanfordNSons768K_002.jpg" />
After all these configuration and modification it still didn’t work at all when I tested the video in streaming mode. Could some one please take a look at and point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
After adding the configurations to the Application.xml file, you also need to add those entries to the FMS.ini file (in the conf folder). Please add those entries (similar to VOD_ entries) if not already added.
Once that step is also done, the src RTMP url will look like this : rtmp://localhost/<name of your application folder>/mp4:<stream-name-with-extension>

  • Issues with server side recording in FMS

I have FMS installed on Windows XP machine.
I am recording using the server side Stream class. This
creates a FLV but when I play it back it does not play though it
has created the file under the dir in FMS.
After a lot of research I figured out that the recording is
done properly but I have to restart my FMS before the play back.
After which the play back goes on smoothly.
Can any one help me with this. I need to know if this is a
known issue or else I have to do something on stream at the the
server side after recording so that I can play it back immediately.

    **Bump**
I am having a similar issue. I have an app that will redirect
the stream to the same application but a different instance. The
ns.publish method is called for recording and the file will write
correctly. However, after I stop publishing and go in to play the
file in flv player, it doesnt play back. Looks like the meta data
is there but no video. Is there a specific procedure to close off
the file or something that I'm not performing?

  • FMS 3.5 Authentification Add-In

    Hey everyone,
So I have a FMS 3.5, which I want to do live streams. The thing is I want several different people to be able to do the live broadcast, and I would like the server locked down at least a little and not allow anyone that wants to, to start a broadcast.
With that said, I have FMS 3.5 installed, and I installed the Authentificaiton Add-In (3.0). I added a user to the authentification add-in, but it's still doesn't require a username / password, doesn't even prompt me.
Is there a setting / config I have to set to enable this?

    Follow this link
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaEncoder/2.5/help.html?content=config_automate_33.htm l this tells how to configure Flash Media Encoder 2.5 Authentication Add-in.
After installing Authentication Add-in open command prompt go to FMS installed directory and then go to conf directory and use following commands to create user and check it :
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\conf> users add -u <username> -p <password>
Operation Successful:  New user entry added.
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\conf> users check -u <username> -p <password>
Operation Successful:  Username and password match.
You will be prompted for username/password on FMLE side which is used to publish to FMS and not on FMS side.
I hope this will be useful. If still getting problems provide some other details like which FMLE and Authentication module you are using.
    Regards,
    Amit

  • FMS 3 Edge log error

    HI Everyone,
I need some help here. I am experiencing this warning message
    in my Edge Log
Connection rejected by server. Reason : [
    AccessManager.Reject ] : [ code=403 need auth; authmod=adobe ] :.
Whenever this Warning come out I will not be able to stream
from my FMS anymore unless I reboot my Server. Does anyone
exprience this issue and had a workable solution? Thanks

    Hi,
Do you have access module installed with FMS. Please check
if there is a libconnect.dll/libconnect.so file placed below {FMS
    Install Dir}/modules/access.
Also are you using the authentication module for Flash Live
Media Encoder on the same server?
