FMS using values in row items of form

Hi Experts,
I have a situation where i provide a list of values to the user using a format search to get the required serial number. the format search appears in the following manner
Find |_<text to be found>___|
<Search Results from the query>
*Manufac, Serial
Serial Number
Batch ID*
AAAA1
BBBB1
CCC/1
Now in my form i need to enter all three data items listed in my format search but when i select the entire row from my FMS I only get the value to the row item that i defined the FMS. Can any one let me know if there is a way to get the relevant values filled to the relevant columns. i don't want to define the same FMS to three columns.
One way that i found is to use the following command in the manufacturer Serial and Batch ID columns and set the format search to refresh every time the serial number changes  --- but it didn't work -
or i did it wrong --- please help
SELECT T0.[SuppSerial] AS 'Manufacturer Serial No.' FROM  [dbo].[OSRI] T0 WHERE T0.IntrSerial = '$http://$21.54.1'
21 = formID, 54 = Column , 1 = row.

The basic steps would be something like this:
1. Put the FMS that gets the Manufacturer Serial No. into the first column. Its variable comes from $[21.54.1] or a user choice or something?
2. Put the FMS that gets the Serial Number into the second column. Its variable is the value in the first column, and it refreshes when that value changes.
2. Put the FMS that gets the Batch Number into the third column. Its variable is the value in the second column, and it refreshes when that value changes.
After that I would need to see the FMS's that you tried.

    Hi,
    how to assign NULL value to an ITEM in Forms Personalization?
    please suggest me.

    I don't know what your form personalization does and maybe I misunderstand you ...
    Try
    :item_name := null;

  • Using JHS 'Duplicate Row' Feature In Form

    I am having a minor set back in implementing the JHeadstart duplicateRow() method in a Form (opposed to the default Table-view).
    In table-view the duplicateRow() method of the JhsCollectionModel works flawlessly with items that are set to Update Allowed?: while_new. When we use the method in a Form view however, items remain non-updateable after the Duplicate Row button has be pressed. This prevent rows from being copied within the given Form view page.
    I do not understand how this is occuring since row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_NEW) is being called within the duplicateRow() method. Is another object (other than oracle.jbo.Row) that needs to be used in Form view instead of Table view in order to perform this functionality?
    Thanks

    Well, after an entire day of playing around, I was finally able to get a proper call to the onCreate() method. I figure out that I could make a hard-coded call to:
    oracle.binding.OperationBinding opBinding = getBindings().getOperationBinding("CreateCampus"); ...to get a OperationBinding interface to a FacesCtrlActionBinding (which extends JUCtrlActionBinding). With a simple cast, this allowed me to make a call to JhsPageLifecycle.onCreate().
    Unfortunately, when the rest of my algorithm runs, it's not "copying" over any of the non-PK row values (as it normally does before I implemented this logic).
    So to simplify things: Has anyone ever coded a simple single-row copying ADF Faces/ADF BC feature before that would work in both Table and Form views? Or, how easily could the JHeadstart duplicateRow() feature be extended to work in Form-view?
    If I can see how a simple shallow copy is supposed to operate within the use of JHeadstart, I think I can extend it for our "deep copying' requirement.
    Thanks.

  • How to show desired value in list item, when form starts?

    Hello.
    I have list item with values:
    April 2006
    May 2006
    June 2006
    July 2006
    August 2006
    September 2006
    When the form starts, i want to show in my list item current month (August 2006). And when i open list item above list would appear with August 2006 selected.
    How can i do that?
    Thanks.

    Hi Dejan,
    What you have to do is the following:
    After populating your list, write some code similar to what I have given here.
    FOR n IN 1..nCnt LOOP
    IF Get_list_element_value('list', n) = To_char(sysdate, <date format for the current month n year> THEN
    :list := To_char(sysdate, <date format for the current month n year>
    RETURN;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    :list := NULL; -- in case nothing matches
    You can use this in WNFI trigger and wherever necessary.
    Check whether this solves your problem
    Warm Regards,
    Raja.

  • Hide value of row-item(in crosstab Template) if same with previous row

    Hi,
    I've one custom crosstab using the following xml.
    group outside crosstab- GTOP - on M_KOG3_CONC
    row-item1 -> MARKT_LINE_CONC (group G1)
    row-item2 -> S2_SEGMENT2 (group G2)
    row-item3 -> RIM_IN_INCH (group G3)
    datapoints - QTY_TIRE_SO_FTP, SHARE_FITTED_TIRE, POLICY_FITTMENT_FTP
    end G3
    <subtotal on S2_SEGMENT2> end G2
    <subtotal on MARKT_LINE_CONC> end G1
    <grand total on M_KOG3_CONC>
    end GTOP <split by page break>
    Now for M_KOG3_CONC=574, for MARKT_LINE_CONC='R02: CES - New Tire' and S2_SEGMENT2='CP20: Corporate PKW', 3rows will come for 3 RIM_IN_INCH values. I want to display values of S2_SEGMENT2 and MARKT_LINE_CONC and top-border of the cell only when it changes ie when a group starts.
    Cell top-border I couldn't display conditionally. For the value, in formfield of MARKT_LINE_CONC and S2_SEGMENT2 I used
    <?xdofx:MARKT_LINE_CONC "third_bracket"not(.=preceding::MARKT_LINE_CONC)"third_bracket"?>
    <?xdofx:S2_SEGMENT2 "third_bracket"not(.=preceding::S2_SEGMENT2)"third_bracket"?>
    but it hides MARKT_LINE_CONC and S2_SEGMENT2 value for second set of M_KOG3_CONC(=550: INDEP. SMALL) as MARKT_LINE_CONC and S2_SEGMENT2 are coming common from previous M_KOG3_CONC(=574: CHARTERWAY).
    Can anyone please give me alternate form field code satisfying this requirement.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

  • Using value of application item in javascript

    Hello All,
    Apex 3.1
    I have a javascript that calls an application process, please see below. In the application process I have logic to set/change the value of an application item. Later in the javascript I need to set a page item to the value of the application item which was set in the application process. Any alerts that I post during the javascript show this value as blank, even though a similar HTP.prn in the application process displays the value!. After the script completes the correct value of the application item is in session state . Can someone explain this timing issue to me? Why can't I get the value of an application item in the javascript when the application process is called from the javascript?
    Is there a simple workaround here for me to get this value?
    <script>
    function f_ValidateLinkLine(pThis) {
       // The row in the table
       var vRow = pThis.id.substr(pThis.id.indexOf('_')+1);
       // is Link Line really a number?
       if ( isNaN(html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value)) {
            if (html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value.length > 0) {
            alert('Link Line is an invalid number - '+html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value);
            html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value = '';
       } else {
           if ( ! isNaN( parseFloat(html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value) ) ) {
       var link_line = parseInt(html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value);
       if (html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value.length > 0) {
          var get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=ValidateLinkLine',0);
          get.add('F101_LINK_LINE',html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value);
          get.add('F101_INVENTORY_ITEM_ID',html_GetElement('inventory_item_id_'+Number(link_line)).value);
          get.add('F101_QUOTE_LINE_LINK_ID',html_GetElement('f01_'+spacer+link_line).value);
          get.add('F101_QUOTE_LINE_ID',html_GetElement('f01_'+vRow).value);
          get.add('F101_QUOTE_NUMBER',html_GetElement('f19_'+vRow).value);
          gReturn = get.get();
       // The application process can sometimes change the value of F101_QUOTE_LINE_ID
      //  and I need to set f37 to this value when this happens
        html_GetElement('f37_'+vRow).value =('&F101_QUOTE_LINE_ID.');  //< -- This does not work, the applicaiton item is blank!
          if (gReturn) {
           alert(gReturn);
          if(gReturn) {
           html_GetElement('f20_'+vRow).value = '';
           html_GetElement('f37_'+vRow).value = '';
       }  //End Check Length
      } else {
      html_GetElement('f37_'+vRow).value = '';

    Hi,
    When you use application item in JavaScript like you do, string &F101_QUOTE_LINE_ID. is substituted by item value from session state.
    Changes to that item value when you call On Demand process do not affect to page.
    Lets take example,
    You app item F101_QUOTE_LINE_ID value is e.g. XX in session state.
    You run page and see page source it looks like this
    html_GetElement('f37_'+vRow).value =('XX');Kind you have hard code value to JavaScript.
    Nothing will change that unless you refresh page.
    You need return value from On Demand process.
    To set value code could look like then
    html_GetElement('f37_'+vRow).value = gReturn;Regards,
    Jari

  • How to value non-table items in Forms

    Portal 3.0.7.6.2 on NT
    I am trying to display non-table items on a Form. I want to do things like: Display the Credit Card Type (non-table item) based on the Credit Card Number (table column). Use a foreigh key (table column) to retrieve related data for display/information only on the Form. The doesn't appear to be p_session variables for these 'added' Form items so I can't use the p_session functions. Any ideas??? I'd prefer a PL/SQL solution.

    Hi Michael,
    As Dmitry said that values for non table form field cannot be displayed completely using pl/sql, u can use some pl/sql and some javascript to achieve this .
    Say, take the example of the Emp table where I would like to display the department name for the deptno. Here I'll use pl/sql to retrieve the value of department name using the deptno and use javascript to display the results in the new field added to the form.
    Steps :
    1> Create a form say, on the emp table
    2> In the field formatting section, add a new item of the type text box and add a javascript event onFocus and give the foll javascript function call for the same :-
    javascript:getval(this)
    3> In the additional pl/sql section, for the "after displaying page ..." part we'll add the following pl/sql code :-
    declare
    l_dno number(4) default null;
    l_desc varchar2(100);
    begin
    l_dno := p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER
    (p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_DEPTNO',
    p_index => 1);
    if l_dno is not null then
    begin
    select dname into l_desc
    from scott.dept
    where deptno = l_dno;
    exception
    when others then
    null;
    end ;
    end if;
    htp.p('<script>');
    htp.p('function getval(ele){'&#0124; &#0124;chr(10)&#0124; &#0124;
    'ele.value = "'&#0124; &#0124;nvl(l_desc,' ')&#0124; &#0124;'";}');
    htp.p('</script>');
    end;
    4> Run the form and perform a query. Place the cursor on the desc field after the page reloads with results. The department name would come up.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using value of selected item list

    I'm working on existing code. I want to use the value of a selected item in a list to use it in a query. So, the corresponding records should be displayed in a subform when an item of the list is selected. This is the code i'm using:
    This is the code i use to populate the list
    DECLARE
    locatienaam varchar(100);
    locid number;
    recordcount number;
    i number;
    correct NUMBER;
    hList ITEM := Find_Item('LIST_LOCATIE');
    iRC PLS_INTEGER := 0;
    currValue VARCHAR2(60); /* increase if required*/
    BEGIN
    --vraag het bijhorende ID op van de geselecteerde locatie.
    currValue := Name_In('LIST_LOCATIE');
    FOR i IN 1..Get_List_Element_Count(hList) LOOP
    IF currValue = Get_List_Element_Value(hList,i) THEN
    iRC := i;
    break;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    locid := GET_LIST_ELEMENT_VALUE('LIST_LOCATIE', iRC);
    locatienaam := GET_LIST_ELEMENT_LABEL('LIST_LOCATIE', iRC);
    Below the code i use to make the query
    SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('V_KALENDER',DEFAULT_WHERE,'(BEGINDATUM BETWEEN '||''''||:V_KALENDER.TIJDSTIP1 ||'''AND '||''''||:V_KALENDER.TIJDSTIP2||''') AND (NAAM=:locatienaam)');
    GO_BLOCK('V_KALENDER');
    Execute_Query;
    I get the message: "unable to resolve reference to locatienaam"
    The subform is populated with all the records between the two dates of all the locations, not only by the selected location.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    If locatienaam is a local variable, don't use a colon (:) to reference it.
    You didn't say
    IF :currValue = Get_List_Element_Value(:hList,:i) THEN so why should you say
    :locatienaam?

  • End of year as default value in date item [SOLVED]

    Hi
    I'd like the last day of the current year (i.e. 31.12.2008) to be the default value of an item (in Forms 6i) (Format dd.mm.rrrr).
    The default value in the database is
    TO_DATE('31.12.'||TO_CHAR(sysdate,'yyyy')) and there it works fine.
    In Forms I have a WHEN-CREATE-RECORD Trigger with:
    my_item := TO_DATE('31.12.'||TO_CHAR(sysdate,'yyyy'));
    (generated from Designer)
    However, whatwever I write there I always get some "crap" in the form, most of the time 20.12.0031.
    I can see that it has something to do with the language settings, but don't know where to make some changes.
    Can anybody help my on this, I am aware, trivial matter.
    Thanks
    Karine

    Try this:
    my_item := TO_DATE('31.12.'||TO_CHAR(sysdate,'yyyy'), 'dd.mm.yyyy');

  • How to Visible/Hide an Item based on the value of another Item

    Hi
    I need to visible and hide a textitem based on the value of another item.This form has 3 blocks, and the both item is in the first Master Block.
    My code is:
    if :RECORDTYPE=7 then
         Set_Item_Property('BLOCK.ITEM',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_TRUE);
         Set_Item_Property('BLOCK.ITEM',ENABLED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
    ELSE
         Set_Item_Property('BLOCK.ITEM',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_FALSE);
    Set_Item_Property('BLOCK.ITEM',ENABLED,PROPERTY_FALSE);
    :BLOCK.ITEM:=NULL;
    end if;
    I wrote the code in the Validate Trigger, but not working when moving Next Record & Previous Record
    Thanks in advance
    Rizly

    Read the 'Propagation of Property Changes' section towards the end of the page for Set_Item_Property in the online help. I'm not sure what you mean by locking automatically but perhaps it's because of this.
    You should also ensure the item you're setting to invisible is not the current item (check :system.cursor_item and go to a different item if necessary).

  • How to use javascript to access item VALUES on a portal form

    Hi,
    I want to pick up VALUE of an item on a portal form from the on click event of the save button. I know there is a way to acces the item name and assign a value to that item. For example,
    setItemValue(this.form,'UNIT_NAME', this.value)
    If I use this line of code then I get the value of the save button because I put this line of code in the on click event of the save button. Please help.
    Monique

    You can get hold of any field on your form as follows:
    document.forms[0].elements['<form>.DEFAULT.<field>.01']
    So for example to get (or set) a value in my form I have:
    document.forms[0].elements['REQUESTFRMEU.DEFAULT.BUS_OBJ.01'].value
    Note that setting a value of a field with Javascript on the Insert button's onclick event will not result in the new value being sent to the DB. I think it has to do with the values being set into a session object of sort and the DB gets updated from these values and when you update the field with JS it does not update thesee session values. If you set the value somewhere else (e.g. another event handler before the Insert button is clicked) you should be OK.
    Cheers.
    Anton.

  • How to retain value in LoV item in Tabular Form, after Page Refresh

    Hi,
    I have a tabular form, which contains 2 items(columns), of type "Select List - named LoV".
    Now, 2nd item(column) in tabular form, that LoV should get populated based on user's selection value in first item LoV.
    1. So how do I refer to the value, that user selected in first item's LoV? I will have to use this value as reference in LoV query of my 2nd item ( on this tabular form)
    2. Everytime I select value in first item LoV, page gets refreshed, as my requirement is to calculate 2nd item's LoV based on selected value in first item. So after this page refresh, first item LoV loses its value that was selected before the page refresh happened. So how do i retain this value in first item LoV? I have an unconditional process, that on every submit(refresh) of page, I set all my items with their corresponding values. But problem is what do i mention there to refer to this first item ( of type LoV) of tabular form?
    I looked in view source of my page, this item is referred as f03.
    So i used "apex_application.g_f03", to set this item to its value, in my uncoditional submit process. But it did not work. I tried to refer this item as "f03" in this unconditional submit process. But still it did not help, the selected item loses its value after page refresh(submit).
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hi Rave,
    You will have to use Javascript and Ajax to change the values as ApEx submissions will lose your results unless they are saved into the database.
    Remember, that as you are using a tabular form there will be lots of items called f01, fo2, fo3 etc on the page (one per row).

  • How to refresh page after selecting value from LOV item , in a tabular form

    Hi ,
    I have a tabular form, which contains 2 items(columns), of type "Select List - named LoV".
    Now, couple of issues here.
    1.
    2nd item(column) in tabular form, that LoV should get populated based user's selection value in first item LoV. So how do i refer to the value, that user selected in first item's LoV? I will have to use this reference in LoV query of my 2nd item ( on this tabular form)
    2.
    How can we refresh the page, when user selectes value in first item ( from LoV). As this is a tabular form, here item type is Select List, we dont have an option to pick item type as Select List with Submit. So problem is that when user selects value for item 1, refresh does not happen and item 2 LoV does not get populated as per user's selection in item 1.
    Please help here. Would be really appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rave.

    Thanks Ben and Dan for your responses.
    Ben, your solution helped me with refresh of page, as page got submitted.
    This answers to my 2nd question. However, I still need to know first question, which basically is, how do i refer to the value, that user selected in first item LoV.
    Issue is, I selected the value in first item LoV, it got submitted and page fot refreshed. But after page refresh, first item LoV loses its value that I had selected last time. It does not retain the selected value after refresh.
    I have an unconditional process, that on every submit(refresh) of page, I set my items with their corresponding values. But problem is what do i mention there to refer to this item.
    Any help here would be really appreciated. Please suggest how do we refer to this item's selected value.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

  • Unable to select the value from a list item in forms 6i

    Hi ,
    I'am using forms 6i. I have created a list item in my form as below.
    Item_type = list item
    list style - popup list
    elements in list - A, B, C,D
    When I open the form all the above values are displayed for the list item. But I'am unable to select the item( either A,B,C,D).
    Please let me know if I need to add any thing else programatically to acheive this. The block on whixh these values are diplayed is a datablock.
    This is very urgent. Any suggestions would be of great help.
    Thanks
    Deepthi

    If you have a list item where you have:
    Display A value 1
    Display B value 2
    Display C value 3
    Display D value 4
    If want to initial the value of the item to be A, you can set the initial value of the item to 1 in the property pane.
    Otherwise in an initialisation triger have
    :block.list_item := 1;

  • How to return the values of LOV to items in forms

    Hi,
    I have created an LOV based on a select statment that return 3 columns
    I want to return theses 3 values to 3 items in the form?
    I'll appreciate any suggestion.
    Imad.

    An LOV has only two components: text and value. You can see them in the html page's source. A work around is to use a procedure to query the data and create a cursor, count the # of records in the query. Create a javascript function to create parallel arrays to hold the data on the html page and pass the function parameters via an event on the page. Create the procedure in the db.
    procedure follows...
    CURSOR c_customer
    /* use a cursor to get all the prices */
    IS
    SELECT
    c.customer_number, c.customer_name, NVL(a.address1, 'N/A') ADDRESS1,
    NVL(a.address2, 'N/A') ADDRESS2, NVL(a.city, 'N/A') CITY, NVL(a.state, 'N/A') STATE,
    NVL(a.province, 'N/A') PROVINCE, NVL(a.country, 'N/A') COUNTRY, NVL(a.postal_code, 'N/A') POSTAL_CODE
    FROM table1 b, table2 a, table3 c;
    v_count NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    INTO v_count
    FROM table1 b, table2 a, table3 c
    where ...;
    /*where clause and table names have been removed, use your's. They should be identical in both queries */
    /* begin your Javascript, substituting values from the
    cursor as necessary into parallel arrays*/
    HTP.p('<script language="JavaScript1.1">');
    HTP.p('<!-- ');
    /* initialize the arrays */
    HTP.p(' var customer_no_arr = new Array('||v_count||'); ');

    /* populate the arrays */
