Formatting dates according to language defined in "Regional format" (not "Country/Region") setting

Hi all,
How do I format a date/time value according to the language defined in Settings > Region > Regional format on Windows Phone 8.1 (WinRT)?

Hi Gabriel,
Windows.Globalization.Language class provide the functionality to the regional format in windows phone, access it and create
a new cultureInfo object. Have a look at the following link for details.

  • Smartform date formats not following SU3 setting or country settings.

    Hi,
    We have a smartform that has date fields that are to follow the format given in the country settings.
    But i cannot seem to make the fields be printed out by the country settings. Ís the variable field to be of a special type?
    I would rather not hard code these settings in the smartform.
    Hope someone can help. We are running 46C.

  • APEX BIP report query output format - not able to set with a variable

    I have a Named Columns (RTF) report that is working great, but I can't control the output format with a variable. I can set the "Output Format" in the Report Query Attributes, but it doesn't work when I set the report output format to "Derive from item". No matter what the item contains, I always get PDF output. I can see the variable in my session, but it doesn't control the output format. I have tried using the values "xml", "XML", "rtf", and "RTF".
    Any help would be appreciated...

    My guess is that an exception is being thrown for some rows. Since you've stubbed out your catch phrase to do nothing you're not going to have any visibility into what exception was thrown. You need to put some kind of logging in the catch phrase to see
    what is happening.

  • Page format not able to set  in spool - Using - GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS

    Hi Friends,
    I am calling transaction using BDC.
    Before that I have  called function  GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS
    to set the layout . And used the command
      CALL FUNCTION 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'
        EXPORTING
          copies         = 1
          cover_page     = '2'
          destination    =  g_spld
          layout         = 'X_65_200'
          line_count     = 65
          line_size      = 200
          mode          = 'BATCH'
          new_list_id    = 'X'
          no_dialog      = ' '
          release        = ' '
          sap_cover_page = 'X'
        IMPORTING
          out_parameters = print_parameters
          valid          = valid_flag.
    For creating the new page
         NEW-PAGE
                   PRINT ON
                     PARAMETERS print_parameters  NO DIALOG.
    Now at this point i have called the BDC. Here I am able to create spool id. But the strange thing is  spool is not using the layout  'X_65_200' .But using the default layout as 'X_65_80'.
    Can you help me out to solve this problem. Or any other way to  overcome this.
    Thanks..

  • How to do Regional Setting Configuration in RDP session ( Eg Date Format, Currency, Decimal Seperator etc)

    Hi All,
    I am new to Windows Server 2008 R2 administration.
    I would like to know is there a way to  do Regional Setting Configuration in RDP session. i.e Date Format, Currency, Decimal Separator etc are based on users local machine.
    Eg If a user from UK logs in he should see date format as DD/MM/YY and if user from US logs in he should date format as MM/DD/YY.
    We are currently using citrix and we are managing this using logon script that runs based on citrix published application name.
    Is there any way we can achieve the same in RDP ?
    Thanks in Advance.

  • How to get the date in local language

    Hi,
    I want display "Date" in Local language. Written code as below to display date in my RTF Template:
    <?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'dd'?><?' '?><?xdoxslt:month_name(substring(xdoxslt:sysdate(),3,2), 0, $_XDOLOCALE)?><?' '?><?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'yyyy'?>
    Output showing in my RTF template as "26 May 2011". which is correct for englilsh.
    want to display same format in Local languge for example in Germany :
    26 mai 2011
    To get the local language format tried 1) by Putting "DEU" instead of "$_XDOLOCALE" 2. Tried by declaring a variable with value as "DEU"
    But it two cases it showing in english format not in Germany Language. Please give me idea how to get date in local language.
    Thanks
    -Chakri..

    Dont think you have anyway to tell the target language for a single text retrieval. You can obviously set the locale of the user but that will change language of other texts also. If you always want to show some predefined text in English then better you dont keep the those texts at all in the translated files. Or you keep the English text in all the files - so that everytime English only gets displayed. But if your case is a selective one - i.e. you want to show English text to only German users but spanish to Spanish and French to French then I dont have any answer how to achieve the same.

  • "date format not recognised" in DBMS_SESSION, on page over db_link

    Hi,
    I have an Apex 4.0 page which has a region that gets data constituted from a connection across a database link.
    The host database is 11.1.0.6 and the remote database is 9.0.1. (Both Standard Edition)
    I am using EPG.
    Intermittently, I receive the following error (having turned debugging on):
    Wed, 25 Aug 2010 10:21:53 GMT
    ORA-20867: ORA-01821: date format not recognized
    ORA-02063: preceding line from CLIFF
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SESSION", line 157
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_LANG", line 387
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW", line 9284
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040000.F", line 267
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040000.F", line 294
    ORA-06512: at line 30
    I'm somewhat confused as to what is causing the generation of this error.
    After receiving this error, anything I else that I do that involves building 'pages' works perfectly fine. I can login/out, no problems.
    However, if I try and RUN any page within my application thereafter (all of these access local DB information apart the 1 that generates the error), I continue to receive exactly the same error - no matter which page I am trying to access.
    Help?
    - Tony.

    Hi Patrick,
    No. I haven't yet applied the patchset. May do that this afternoon now.
    I don't believe I've manually set any date formats anywhere. Just entered the Builder with default options (apart from choosing a theme) and away I went!!
    What surprises me is that the application has no problems viewing all the data. The functionality all seems fine. I had this working on a previous setup for months,. without any problems, using version 3.2. (This wasn't migrated though, this was a rebuild from scratch.)
    From further "tests", the error seems to occur when I edit the page that involves the remote data.
    Normally, a user would land on the page from having used a hyperlink column on a previous page's classic report region.
    The point at which it all starts to go wrong is if I connect to the page as normal, but then EDIT the page, and then try and re-run it.
    The problem with the date format then re-occurs repetitively, no matter which page I try and view. Sometimes pages will load some components, but then generate odd errors with others. e.g. I have a small series of 3 dial charts, all with slightly varying SQL series (same SQL, slightly different where clause). Now I am seeing that 1 may load and 2 may give odd flash errors...
    Right now, I just tried to Export my application - and I still got given the date format error!! Sub-sequent retries allowed the operation to complete successfully.
    The only way I seem to be able to eradicate the recurring errors is to kill all the currently connected ANONYMOUS users in the DB, and then relog to the application.

    hello
    i think you cannot use the portal built-in packages inside omni portlets. Omni portlets is designed to connect to other data source (not only oracle) and Portal API might not be available at these data sources. Therefore, you should not be using these Packages at all!. i tried very hard, but to no avail.. Omni portlet has its own repository!! if you cannot pass the infomration as a parameter, then find a different approach

    This is because the Omniportlet is actually operating within a different context--a separate database connection from the Portal connection. We have similar issues with Java portlets. You might try creating a public parameter on the portlet, then mapping that to the system variable USER (done on the Parameters tab of the page where you deploy it--if you don't see a parameters tab, you must enable Parameters and Events at the page group properties level). I haven't tested any of this, but it should get you going in the right direction.

  • Possibility to change number delimitors according to language or choice

    I would like to see a possibility to change number delimitors according to language or by choice after they have been inserted or content placed. Example: if figures come in with commas like 22,33 and you need periods like 22.33 (or the other way around), it ought to be possible to select that or any part of a a table or an entire table and just choose which delimitor in the figure you want. Or that it changed automatically according to chosen language when language is set for the selected text (as language rules for which to use are different depending on the language), regardless of how it was formatted when typed or placed.

    It would require you to "tag" every 'real' number in  your text, wouldn't it?
    I would not trust an algorithm that makes the distinction for me. If I see decimal delimiters possibly used the wrong way, I search the entire document for both (digit).(digit) and (digit),(digit); then I make a judgement call on whether "n = 31.245" is about a large number of patients, and "p < 1,000" is a probability. I saw both of these in one single book to-day -- in the middle of correctly formatted numbers.
    Then again, tables could be enhanced to act like real miniature spreadsheets.

  • Translate Application- browser application based on the language defined

    Dear All Expert,
    My oracle apex application is develop in oracle 11g XE edition, apex application primary language is in english. And i would like to switch my application to chinese language based on the language defined on my oracle database table.
    I did translated my application to chinese language and published.
    I created application processes called "set_language", the conditions type is "Request = Expression 1" and i set "Expression 1" to value "LANG". (Fire on header load)
    setlanguage pl/sql as below;_
    begin
    owa_util.redirect_url('f?p='||:APP_ID||':'||:APP_PAGE_ID||':'||:APP_SESSION);
    end;
    I created a button with label "chinese" on my login page. This button will send a request "LANG" and set "FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE" to value "zh-tw" ,and redirected to my login page again when button pressed. This work fine.
    My question here is how can i automatically browser the apex application based on the language defined on my database table. (I had a table to stored language to be use browser the application.) Mean that i want my apex application to check the language from my db table in order to browser the application based on the language defined.
    How can i do that? Can anyone help on it?
    Another question is about the logout in chinese language display.
    The application will automatically switch to english when i logout my application. How can i maintain in chinese language?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Best Regards,
    Apex Junior.

    Hello, (What is your first name?)
    >> I tried to used session as derived my second language which is "zh-tw".
    The Session option allows you to use the built-in procedure apex_util.set_session_lang or the parameter p_lang - as part of the application URL – to dynamically set the application language.
    If you use the p_lang parameter as part of your application URL, the first page – including the login page – will be rendered according to this parameter. In your case it can look something like this:
    http://. . ./f?p=1234 . . . &p_lang=zh_tw
    >> From your reply, you are suggested to use APPLICATION PREFERENCE(FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE).
    As I mentioned in the last paragraph of my previous reply, if you choose to set the application language for each individual login, based on a parameter you need to fetch (like the database language), you don’t need to use application preference. The latter is useful when the user preference is lasting (i.e., a certain user is using the same language all the time, although you have the option of changing it). If the language can change from one session to another, based on dynamic parameters in the database, the best is to use the * FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE* item.
    The advantage of using the p_lang parameter is that it allows you to set an appropriate language even for the first application page (usually the login page). Using the FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE item requires you first to set its value. Before that, the Application Builder uses the primary language to render the first page, and because of that, the first rendering of the login page is in the primary language.
    I want to draw your attention to the Browser (use browser language preference) option. If your application language tightly correlated with the browser language – it’s reasonable to assume that users that want to use zh-tw in the application, also using the same language in their browser – this option is a very simple and straightforward to set the application language from the first page.

    Arie.

  • Master Data source for sales district or Region in CRM

    Dear All,
    Please let me know the Master Data source for sales district or Region in CRM.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Sai

    Hi Tiest,
    Thanx for responding.
    U r right, our clint is upgrading from 4.6 to ECC.
    So as per the clients requirements, we are maintaining all the configs for Services in CRM.
    Services Data which was in 4.6 is being pulled put on flat files which needs to be loaded in CRM. So middleware would not be able to do this.
    What I am looking os some standard upload program.
    LSMW recording does not work.
    This I-Doc "CRMXIF_COND_REC_SLIM_SAVE_M", i am able to load a single record. But I am not able to find , how to make this function for multiple entries.
    IN standard we for loading master data thru I-docs, we map the values to the standard fields which are available in that I-Doc.
    But in this particular i-doc, there is a common field for which I need to define the field name and a field value..
    Till now, I am only able to define just one field name and a field value.
    I want this to word for mutliple entries.
    Hope u get my point.
    Thanx

  • ORA-01821: date format not recognized Error in PL/SQL report-4.0

    Hi,
    I am using Apex 4.0 and i have a Classic report(function returning query) which selects a date column.
    The query runs at the backend and gives the output.
    But when i run the report on the page, i get the error
    report error:
    ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-01821: date format not recognizedThe values for the date column are like this 14-MAR-13,01-FEB-13 etc... Everything seems to be right.
    But I have no idea why this error occurs.
    Thanks
    Divya

    Aren't these errors annoying! But there's a data / format mismatch for sure. What I need to see -- and what will tell you what is wrong -- is
    1) exactly what the data is and
    2) exactly what the format string is that is being used to convert it.
    The values for the date column are like this 14-MAR-13,01-FEB-13 etc... Question: Is this the source data or the target data ( what it's supposed to look like after being converted)?
    Let's start there:
    What is the source? Is it a DB column? Is it type date or VARCHAR2 or what?
    If VARCHAR2, then give us an example of the data that is failing.
    What is the format -- I assume there is one -- being used to convert the data?
    Are you doing a TO_CHAR or a TO_DATE?
    Give us lots of detail, please. Then it should be easy to solve.
    Regards,
    Howard

    I have created one form using screen painter displaying text boxes and bind them to the table.
    This form is working absolutely fine when there are some data in table (i.e. Browse using navigation)
    My problem is, when I click add button from tool bar the "OK" button turn to "Add" that means the form is set to Add mode, but when I click "Add" button after entering some data nothing happens and input data is not stored in Table. The same "OK" Button turned to "Update" when I do changes in loaded data, but my changes are not reflected to table after I click "Update".

    Thanks Nagarajan,
    None.
    There is no such query. The table fields is directly linked to Edit Box or Combo Box in form.
    From the examples I learned that I have to do something like this to get my table updated
    Dim oUsrTbl As SAPbobsCOM.UserTable
    Dim Res As Integer
    oUsrTbl = oCompany.UserTables.Item("DRIVERMST")
    oUsrTbl.Code = oBPC.Value 'Item Specific of Driver Code Edit Box
    oUsrTbl.Name = Left(oBPN.Value, 30) 'Item Specific of Name Edit Box
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FullName").Value = oMFN.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FatherName").Value = oFTHN.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_BirthDate").Value = oDOB.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_PhoneNo").Value = oPHN.Value
    (Similar For rest ofthe fields)
    Res = oUsrTbl.Add()
    Just let me know that is this necessary to do like above.. To be frank there are few more fields and matrices on the form which I didn't mentioned. I am just trying to get recovered from first step to proceed further.
