Formatting the date in the title of a worksheet

Hi!
I am displaying the date on which the report is run in the title of my worksheet. The version of Discoverer Desktop that I am using to do is 10g i.e. 10.1.2.48.18
The date displayed is in the following format : DD-MON-RR
Is it possible to use any other format mask?
Thanks n rgds,
Aparna

Hi,
You cannot set the NLS parameters from Discoverer admin.
You can ask your DBA to change the system NLS parameter using:
alter system set nls_date_format = 'DD-MON-YYYY'
or you could try setting the nls parameter for the session by including the following command in a logon trigger:
alter session set nls_date_format = 'DD-MON-YYYY'

  • How to Change Date Format in the Title of the report.

    Hi Everyone,
    I want to change the Format of the Date in the title(Query run Date)taken by report through the variable "&Date" .
    The Format available is DD-MON-YY
    Desired Format is DD-MON-YYYY.
    Please let me know the same as early as possible.

    Hi NP,
    What I try to do is to reformat the default &date inserted into the Title for Discovere Plus and Viewer. When you edit the Title for the report, you can select the date from the Insert dropdown list to display the date when the report was run. The Date (shown &Date in the Title) has a default format of DD-MON-YY. As I have other date parameters displyed in the Title that have the format of DD-MON-YYYY specified by the user, I want to have the &Data in the same format. Please advise me how to achieve this.
    Thank yiou very much,
    J.K.

  • How to save an e-mail as an .eml format and customize the name of the file, for example the name of the file would be "date, time, sender, title"?

    It would be fantastic if when saving my e-mails to my computer the file name could be customized to be something different that just the title of the message. As I suggested in the question if it could be set up to be "date, time, sender, title" it would be great, a lot of help when passing an .eml file between co-workers, or simply organizing your e-mails in folders. Is it possible and if yes, how is it done?

  • Is it possible to extend the title of a "DATE" column?

    Hi I have made a table;
    SQL> SELECT * FROM BookCopy;
    BCID BTID DATEACQUI DATEDESTR
    120 9 09-FEB-06
    But the title is meant to say "DATEACQUIRED" but it only says "DATEACQUI"
    Does anyone know if it is possible to extend the title without using VARCHAR, thanks

    Hi,
    In SQL*Plus, you can set the width of a DATE column the same way you do it for a VARCHAR2.
    COLUMN  dateacquired  FORMAT A12
    SELECT  SYSDATE  AS dateacquired
    FROM    dual;produces
    DATEACQUIRED
    29-JAN-09

  • Including the Date Range Criteria as part of the Title

    I am using LastFullMonth (great function) as part of my criteria for a report, and want to include this data as part of the title - "Bla Bla Report for the Following Dates:  mm/dd/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy".  I am sure I will need to create a custom formula, but I can't figue out how to convert the evaluation of LastFullMonth to a string, so that I can concantinate it to the rest of the title.
    Much TIA
    Jim Cook

    I created a formula - maximum(LastFullMonth), which gave me the last day of the month, then formated it to show "Month, Year".

  • How to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher ?

    Hi there,
    I need to format a date to display the ISO week number in BI Publisher.
    I've tried the following <?format-date:NEED_BY_DATE;'WW'?>, but it returns a week number (1-53) where week 1 starts on the first day of the year and continues to the seventh day of the year, which is not what I want.
    I want the ISO week number (1-52 or 1-53), the one implemented by the 'IW' format mask of the Oracle PL/SQL TO_CHAR() function for example.
    I've tried using 'IW' format mask, but it is not recognised by BI Publisher.
    Also, as I'm working on an RTF template, I've tried 'IW' as MS Word date format, but it is not recognised by MS Word :-((
    Any help would be much appreciated,
    Regards - Hugues

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
    The thing is I don't have access to the query, unless I modify a standard E-Businees Suite view (one of those used to generate the PO document in Purchasing).

  • How do I adjust my titles so they don't fade in and out? I have hundreds of photos/videos on screen for a second or so each, for a year-long birthday video, and I need the dates in my titles to be steady rather than fading in and out spastically.

    I have been working on a project since December of 2012 for my son's first birthday. Basically, it's a photo or quick video each day of his life so far. I used the "upper" title and made the titles not fade in and out, because that could give someone a seizure. The idea is a seamless title that ticks away each day. But in the new iMovie, it changed my settings, and I can't for the life of me find how to change them back.
    Now, each date flashes in and out, in and out, in and out. Fractions of seconds go by. It's really distracting and annoying.
    How do I get the titles to remain on screen and not fade in and out? I had it just how I wanted it, but now we're rapidly approaching my son's birthday, and the video is suddenly a mess.
    How do I fix this?

    I am working with the very same concept for my project and the auto fade in and out has messed everything up. If I hear or a fix I'll be sure to reply here to let you know!

  • Is there a way of showing more info than just the title and author for books in my iPad "library", say date downloaded, or date last read, eg ?

    Sometimes I forget the title of a book I am currently reading, and have to check through each book in my long list of titles in my "library" to find it again. I cant see any way of adding any additional information to each title (and author), like date downloaded, or date last read, which would help me find a particular book again quickly.
    I may be missing something simple, so can anyone please help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Format of Date field is loading wrongly in the Infocube 0pp_c01.

    Hi,
    Format of Date field is loading wrongly in the Infocube 0pp_c01. But it is loading properly into PSA.
    I am loading data into PP infocubes from the following DataSources.(they all are 3.x datasources)
    1. 2LIS_04_P_MATNR
    2. 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL
    3. 2LIS_04_P_COMP
    The data is coming properly upto PSA.  For example Actual Start date is loaded in cube like 733.884.
    And, it is the same issue with all the cubes. So I checked the update rules. But, in it the mapping is done properly.
    Thanks $ Regards

    Hi,
    HEre also value is loaded correctly. The reason u are seeing it in this format is because it is mapped into a key figure in the info cube.
    It will store the value as number of days from a standard date like 1/1/1000 or 1/1/1900 - not sure which one of these, u should be able to search and find the correct date in the forums..but this is the logic behind it
    Hope it helps.

  • Convert String to Date and Format the Date Expression in SSRS

    Hi,
    I have a parameter used to select a month and year  string that looks like:    jun-2013
    I can convert it to a date, but what I want to do is,  when a user selects a particular month-year  (let's say "jun-2013")
    I  populate one text box with the date the user selected , and (the challenge Im having is)  I want to populate a text box next to the first text box with the month-year  2 months ahead.    So if the user selects
    jun-2013   textbox A will show  jun-2013
    and textbox B will show  aug-2013..
    I have tried:
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM-YYYY"  )+ 2  )   -- But this gives an error
    This returns the month in number format   like "8"    for august...
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM"  )+ 2  )
    What is the proper syntax to give me the result    in this format =  "aug-2013"  ???
    Thanks in advance.

    You can convert a string that represents a date to a date object using the util.scand JavaScript method, and then format a date object to a string representation using the util.printd method. For more information, see:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1254.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1251.html
    In your case, the code would be something like:
    var sDate = "2013-01-10";
    // Convert string to date
    var oDate = util.scand("yyyy-mm-dd", sDate);
    // Convert date to new string
    var sDate2 = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", oDate);
    // Set a field value
    getField("date2").value = sDate2;
    The exact code you'd use depends on where you place the script and where you're getting the original date string, but this should get you started.

  • Need help in formatting the Date - Date does not

    Need help in formatting the Date - Date does not formats and give Not a valid month error in the below scenario.

    Your syntax is wrong - look at the post above where this syntax is given:
    to_char (add_months(r.formdate,12), 'MM/DD/YYYY') "formdate2"Look at the formula from a logical perspective - "inside out" to read what is happening -
    take formdate, add 12 months
    add_months(r.formdate, 12)then apply the to_char format mask - basic syntax
    to_char(date, 'MM/DD/YYYY')Compare to your syntax:
    to_char(add_months(r.formdate, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),12) "formdate2"You will see your format string inside the call to add_months, and your 12 inside the call to to_char.
    Good luck!

  • I'm creating a book format in Pages. I want the page count to be 1 on the first page of chapter one after the title page, table of contents, etc.. How do I do that?

    I'm creating a book format in Pages. I want the page count to be 1 on the first page of chapter one after the title page, table of contents, etc.. How do I do that?

    That is not the issue.
    Pages/OSX does not save files with crop marks and bleeds.
    It also by default saves transparency, which is involved in a lot of Pages' better features, at a rubbishy 72 dpi resolution.
    It also makes it extremely difficult to maintain mono-color like black only text, has no spot color and makes color management opaque.
    It really is only meant for amateur publishing and printing to your desktop printer.
    A commercial printer who is willing to use and print from Pages may have better results but at the cost of considerable micro-management which defeats the point of this "cheap" solution.

  • Formatting a Date based on the user's Locale

    I'm having some trouble formatting a date based on the user's locale. I'm aware you can do something like this:
       public static String getAsString( Object dateObject, Locale locale ) {
          DateFormat dateFormat = DateFormat.getDateInstance( DateFormat.MEDIUM, locale );
          return dateFormat.format( dateObject );
    However, this is returning something like Jan 21, 2009. I need 01/21/2009. Of course, if this was the UK locale it'd have to be 21/01/2009. Any help would be appreciated.

    another issue I'm running into is that when I'm logged in as a users' locale which uses '-' instead of '/' (i.e. 21-01-2009), I get a parse error. Can anyone provide any input? Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can format the data using Format Into String as shown in the attached snippet. Is this maybe something you can use?
