Formula - Crystal Report

Hello all,
I have report a for Sales by Sales Employees. The Sales Column is less VAT and I have used the formula (OINV.DocTotal/1.16) to get sales figure. NB. VAT = 16%
However, I want to come up with a conditional formula to exclude invoices with zero rated items from being divided by 1.16. The logic should be as below:
IF INV1.VATGROUP='O2' THEN OINV.DOCTOTAL
ELSE IF
INV1.VATGROUP='01' THEN OINV.DOCTOTAL/1.16
Kindly assist me to achieve the above using the correct Crystal syntax. Thank you
Regards,
Henry

Hi Henry
The total vat in the document is OINV.VatSum.
Rather than doing the division you could use OINV.DocTotal - OINV.VatSum
Hope this helps

  • Crystal Report issue : Error in file.. .rpt . Error in formula

    Hi ,
    I recently migrated a report from production to test environemnt and it throws me the following error:
    Error in File C:\DOCUME1\oe_user\LOCALS1\Temp\packing instructions {4058873B-9756-4052-B479-EBD2D0A08E7D}.rpt:Error in formula  <Object_Visibility>. '{Command.EXACT_WEIGHT_FLAG} = "Ne (No)"'
    This field name is not known.
    In production server is installed Oracle 9i database and in test server is installed Oracle 10g
    The report has 1 main report and 2 sub reports.
    1. The same report works fine in production server without any issues.
    2. I had executed the report in Crystal reports 2008 and it runs fine displaying all fields without any issues.
    3. I had also tried taking the query of both subreports and the main report and tried executing it in oracle and it runs fine without any issues.
    However during the runtime in the test server, it throws the following error.
    Can someone help me out with this issue..

    Hi Siva,
    What is the patch level of CR 2008?
    Is it a win or a web app?
    What is the server OS?
    First, try to simply view the report. Let  the report prompt for the database credentials and the parameter values if any.
    See if it reproduces the issue.
    ReportDocument rd = new ReportDocument();
            rd.Load(Server.MapPath("CrystalReport.rpt"));
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rd;
    Take a look at the SAP Note :

  • Crystal Report XI Formula Workshop Window disappeared

    I'm been trying to write a report using Crystal Reports XI.  Which I am having problems with, but at this time my main concern is... whenever I click on the Formula Workshop the application totally hangs and the box never comes up.  You can here it beep like the window should be hiding but I have been unable to find.  I usually run 2 screens and it is not on the other screen.  I am a PC person more than a Crystal Report person and can't find it anywhere.  I tried to run a repair and that didn't work either.  I can kit esc to unlock everything but i need this to build some formulas.  Suggestions?

    Hi,
    That's usually because the Formula Editor is 'lost in space'. Here's are two ways to get around this:
    Resolution 1:
    1) Open Crystal Reports on any machine with dual monitor setup
    2) Click on the Conditional Formatting button (x+2) of any field
    3) Now, with Crystal Reports open and in focus use Alt + Space, then M, then Arrow key, and then move your mouse around
    4) The Formula Editor window which was earlier off-screen should appear from one of the sides of the screen
    5) Re-open the report and the Formula Editor should show up on the Primary Display hereafter
    Resolution 2:
    1) Open the Registry Editor (Start > Run > regedit)
    2) Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BUSINESS OBJECTS\SUITE 11.0\Crystal Reports\Formula Workshop
    3) Change the value data for Editor Position as 10,10,10,10
    Let me know how this goes!

  • How to use the distinct key in formula field in SAP Crystal Reports

    I want to use the distinct key in formula field in SAP Crystal reports.
    When i'm using it shows an error.
    Please suggest me....

    Hi,
    Use DistinctCount keyword directly for your calculation instead of count(distinct(....
    Alternatively, if you want to avoid duplicate records, under "File" > "Report Options" make the 'Select Distinct Records' as True.
    Thanks,

  • Crystal report formulas to view revenue for current & Previous Year

    Hi all,
    We have a requirement to create a formula in crystal reports to display the current month revenue and previous month revenue along with few dimensions and also current fiscal year revenue and previous year.
    For ex on SAp ecc table CE11000.
    Please provide the syntax for above requirement.
    Quick response is appreciated.

    HI AlunJD,
    Thanks for your quick turnaround.
    Here's the structure of table i have fields like Currency type,Document Number,Fiscal year , Company code,country, Countrygrp,Document type, Sales quantity & Revenue.
    My requirement is to display Revenue for current Fiscal Year and Previous Fiscal year and aswell as Current Month And previous month in the same report.
    Is there any functions to create a formula to display data on above mentioned logic.

  • Crystal Reports XI - How  to create a new field using a formula field

    I'm quite new to CR, but have been learning quickly!
    I would like to know how to automatically create a new record/field based on another field in that row...
    I have a report showing the following data:
    Run Code     Start KM    Stop KM    Status
    H2                 100            150           Partial
    H2                 150             155          Partial
    H2                 155             160          Partial
    S3                 120             150       Completed
    The status is generated by comparing the 'Start KM' and 'Stop KM' against fields in another table called 'Start Odo' and 'Stop Odo'
    In this example...
    H2 has 'Start Odo' and 'Stop Odo' values of 90 to 160, therefore there is still 90-100 to check.  The 'Start KM' and 'Stop KM'  is equal to the 'start Odo' and 'stop Odo' for S3, therefore it shows completed.
    My question is how do you create a formula field, which will add an entire row...displaying the values 90-100.
    I've been trying to use a conditional check in the 'Start KM' column, that sees if status is equal to partial than if start km is greater than start odo (Which is the reference km) then display the value of start odo in the new row. I'm stuck at how to create a new row.
    I want the final result to look like this...
    Run Code     Start KM    Stop KM    Status
    H2                  90              100         Partial
    H2                 100             150          Partial
    H2                 150             155          Partial
    H2                 155             160          Partial
    S3                 120             150       Completed
    Any suggestions would be more than appreciated

    Hi Adi
    Looking at your examples it seems that you want to add a row to the existing recordset (rows fetched from the database).
    If it is the case (even if based on a formula) then you can not do it within crystal. Crystal is designed to display data and ideally it should not generate the new data.
    However, as per your requirement you can try to add this logic at database end. May be a command object within Crystal Reports can help you.
    Let me know if you do not understand anything.
    Regards
    Nikhil

  • Is there a way to Extract all formulas from Crystal Reports files?

    Hi:
    I have about 40 Crystal Reports (.rpt files).  I need to go through each one and look at formulas if a certain variable/value is used since it has currently changed.  It is taking way too long and not to mention inefficent to open each file, look through any place where there could be custom formulas such as when to suppress - etc.  Is there are way to easily exact all custom formulas from all those report into say a Text file so I can do a Search for it?  That would be the easiest way to find what I'm looking for.
    I have Crystal Reports XI.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    One option is to use a tool such as rptInspector.  See: [http://www.softwareforces.com/Product/ri/pro/3/rptInspector.htm|http://www.softwareforces.com/Product/ri/pro/3/rptInspector.htm]

  • Crystal Report formula with datediff not working as expected

    We need a Crystal Report formula to display the number of seconds the oldest arriving call has been waiting.  Across multiple resources that can each have an "oldest call".  The database stores a datetime value for the time the oldest call arrived.  If there are no waiting calls, then this field is NULL.  (MSSQL database).  It seemed reasonable to implement this in a formula that 1) discovers the minimum of "oldest call" timestamps in the selected records, and 2) to use "datediff" to produce the difference (in seconds) between the "oldest call" timestamp and current time.
    The first attempt at this relied on "implied" iteration that could be done within a formula.  Something like:
    data: OLDESTARRIVALTIME
           null
           '2014-06-14 08:08:08.000'
           null
          '2014-06-14 08:07:55.000'
           null
    whilereadingrecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    if isNull({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME}) = False
                   and minArrival < {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME} then
         minArrival := {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME};
    DateDiff("s", minArrival, {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE})
    We tried storing the values of OLDESTARRIVALTIME in an array.  We could see it iterating, but the values in the array only contained
    the column value from the first record.
    This was to solve the problem of screening null values and producing the minimum of the set.
    Since that didn't work (and the web articles seemed to imply this would iterate over all the records, we tried another approach.  This
    time we set NULL timestamps in the table to a timestamp far in the future, so that we could directly apply "minimum" to produce
    the correct "begin" for datediff.
    data: OLDESTARRIVALTIME
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
              '2014-06-14 08:08:08.000'
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
              '2014-06-14 08:07:55.000'
              '2030-01-01 00:00:00.000'
    datetimevar minArrival = minimum({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME});
    datetimevar minUTC = minimum({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE});
    if minArrival < minUTC then
         DateDiff("s", minArrival, minUTC)
    else
         0
    (minUTC would be current time in UTC)
    So, to start things off, the last formula produces negative numbers!  They hover in negative seconds within a negative minute (-33, -45, etc.).
    That's inconceivable, considering the test for minArrival < minUTC.  Both of the fields are "datetime".
    As it turns out, in the near term, it's most important to get the second formula working.  And, of course, insights into getting the first
    formula to work are welcome as well!
    Have we run into some weird behavior of the "DateDiff" function?
    Thanks!

    If DateDiff is always returning a negative number you could try swapping the dates around in the call to DateDiff - it should look like this:
         DateDiff("s", minUTC, minArrival)
    Or you could use the Absolute Value of the calculation:
         Abs(DateDiff("s", minUTC, minArrival) )
    As for your first formula, you need to initialize the variable to a value prior to using it in the comparison.  If you don't, its value is null and comparing it against a value won't work.  (See What is Null and Why is it Important for Crystal Reports | SAP BI BLOG for a blog that I wrote about working with nulls in Crystal.)
    You should change your existing formula to something like this:
    whilereadingrecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    if OnFirstRecord then minArrival := DateTime(2013, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0);
    if not isNull({SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME})
                   and minArrival > {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME} then
         minArrival := {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.OLDESTARRIVALTIME};
    Note how I changed the If statement.  Also, you want to replace minArrival with the field value if the field is less than the current value of minArrival - so you need to use ">" instead of "<" in the comparison.  Place this formula in the details section.  It will now show anything because of the semi-colon on the end.  This will ensure that it gets evaluated for every record.
    Now, create a second formula that looks like this:
    whileReadingRecords;
    datetimevar minArrival;
    DateDiff("s", minArrival, {SVCCLASSMEASURES_VW.UTCDATE})
    Place this formula in a footer section - it will not work in a header section.  If you need it in a header section you might be able to take the "whilereadingrecords" off of both formulas and use the "Maximum()" summary function to get the correct value.

  • Crystal Report 2008 / JavaScript hyperlink formula/ Issue

    Hi,
    We've developed the Crystal Report using the Crystal Reports 2008 software & integrated it in asp.net web page and also deployed in IIS web server. We have a requirement like opening the sub report in a new window. We have integrated the sub report also in a asp.net web page & passing the parameters in URL & acheived it..
    For the above, we have used JavaScript code like "javascript:window.open('SubReport.aspx','...','..' ...)" in the hyperlink formula field of main report. It works fine while running using VS 2005 in the development box.
    But in production serer (Windows 2003 server), the JS URL in the formula field is not working properly. Instead , it is rendered as a drill down JS url. Like javascript:bobj.event.publish('drilldown',........)
    Can you please help us to resolve this issue?
    (OR) Do we have any other approach to open the web page in new window from CR (same like a popup window)
    Thanks
    Jeyakumar
    Edited by: Jeyakumar Seenivasagam on Nov 21, 2008 12:02 PM

    I understand that the point of this is to allow the URL link to open the Subreport.aspx page in a new window. This can be problematic due to cross-site scripting restrictions. A few years ago we found that it was possible for report writers to add JavaScript to reports. This isn't a problem if the report writers are honest and nice. However, it is possible for JavaScript to be malicious so that ability to include JavaScript was turned off when the app uses our webform viewers. There may be a way to turn it off in the registry though. This is documented for CR XI r2 [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do].
    I am not sure if this reg key works for the .NET viewer, though the note specifies DHTML and .NET InfoView, so CR should work also. As you are using CR 2008, I suspect the key would be:
    HKLMSoftwareBusiness ObjectsSuite 12.0Crystal Reports
    You will most likely have to add the Export folder, then add the HTML folder, then add the EncodeHTMLForSingleLineFieldObjects and set it to "no".
    Please note that this is a hack / workaround found for CR XI r2. The functionality you are looking to exploit was removed for a reason. As such if the above does not work for CR 2008, it will not be considered to be a "bug" and we will not be able to send this to R&D for a resolution.

    My name is Carlos, and I would like to report a defect found in the Crystal Reports 2008 SP 3 Fix Pack 3.5 Runtime that is affecting the majority of our reports.  As well, I would like to ask if there is a simple workaround that does not involve updating hundreds of reports.
    The issue is that the runtime engine incorrectly returns the report selection formula.  I have included sample code showing what I mean.
    To reproduce;
    1. Create a simple report that has a date range filter like:
      ({Orders.Order_Date} >= {?START_DATE})
      AND ({Orders.Order_Date} <= {?END_DATE})
    2. Create a test app as follow that loads a report using the following code:
    ReportDocument rpt = null;
    try
      rpt = new ReportDocument();
      rpt.Load("TestReport.rpt");
      this.txtMessage.Text = string.Format(
        "ReportSelectionFormula:{0}{1}",
         Environment.NewLine,
      rpt.RecordSelectionFormula);
    catch (Exception ex)
      this.txtMessage.Text = ex.ToString();
    3.  Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Fix Pack 3.5 Runtime [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006341772011E/cr2008fp35_redist.zip]..
    4.  Execute the app.
    At this stage, the screen shows
    ReportSelectionFormula:
    (   (  NOT  {Orders.Order_Date} >= {?START_DATE}  )   AND   (  NOT  {Orders.Order_Date} <= {?END_DATE}  )   )
    The expected value is:
    ReportSelectionFormula:
    (   (  {Orders.Order_Date} >= {?START_DATE}  )   AND   (  {Orders.Order_Date} <= {?END_DATE}  )   )
    If we were to repeat the same test above but use the Crystal Reports 2003 SP3 runtime (i.e. no Fix Pack), which can be dowloaded from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123592010E/cr2008sp3_redist.zip], we would get the correct report selection formula. A side-effect for this incorrect report selection formula is a runtime exception complaining about an errorkind and a boolean being expected.
    Do you know if there is any workaround that I can apply in code, perhaps a different Fix Pack?  Is there a Fix Pack expected to be released soon?  It is not practical for us to update our reports and use a different style in the record selection formula because we have many such reports, and our customers probably have even more.
    Thank you.
    -Carlos.
