Forward error to other jsp from .java file

Hi all
i have simple app
html with log in (username and passwor) and submit button
when the user click submit after he put his username and passwor the servelet will call loginHandler
now in logInHandler will forward to welcom.jsp if login and passwor are correct
but if not
will catch login exception
how can i forward to error.jsp ?
if i try to change the forward page<response.sendRedirect("/WEB-INF/pages/error.jsp")>;
i got this error
"Cannot forward after response has been committed"

You get that error when response headers have already been sent to the client (browser). This can happen in two ways that I know of:
- you flushed data to the client, or somewhere the data was automatically flushed
- you already did a redirect/forward and are attempting to do a second one.
So if you want to prevent yourself from getting the error, you'll need to make sure that neither of the situations has occurred. Don't output content unless you are absolutely certain that you won't need to foward/redirect later and don't do a redirect/forward twice in the same resource.

    Maybe you could post the relevant JSP code too?

  • Simple Question Calling methods from Java files through JSP without JVM

    Hi.
    I've got a simple question (forigve my newbieness)...
    If I'm running Tomcat can I exectue a method in a compiled Java file from a JSP page without having the JVM installed on the server?
    Any thoughts or additional comments would be appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    No... but that's because you can't run Tomcat without
    a JVM installed on the server.
    If you are running Tomcat, you are running a JVM for
    the JSP pages to run in, in which case, yes, the JSP
    pages can call the other Java code... as long as it's
    in the classpath.Thanks a lot for the replies.
    So just to check, if I sign up with a hosting company that offers Tomcat then the JVM will be installed on the server and I can call other Java code as long as it's in the classpath?
    I just want to make sure before I sign up with a hosting company =D
    Thanks again!

    It should work fine. May be you need to check your servlet mapping attribute for any possible error.
    If possible post your web.xml code.

    Hi Again,
    Now with a different problem.
    I have removed configuration and imported the configuration again. But now it is not recognizing API ( created by me with all common classes as java project).
    Structre of the application is as follows
    Cedapp -  ear file
    Cedejb   - ejb module
    Cedweb – web module
    Cedapi  - java project with common classes used in both ejb module and  web module and published as library. This refered in both the ejbmodule and web module.
    The problem now I am facing is that cedapi is not getting recognized by ejb module or web module. But it is available in used dcs of each.

  • Where's the location of JSP's java files in weblogic

    When I put *.jsp in my Web application,

              But anyone can tell me where the ***.java?
              What's the location of these java files ?
              Samuel

    In WL8.1, it appears that the .java files are placed in the same directory,
              but are removed after the class is compiled successfully. (Is there a
              setting to prevent the .java files from being deleted?)
              Try placing an intentional syntax error in your JSP file so that the
              compilation fails, and you should see the .java file where the .class file
              would have been.

  • Error running ODI scenario from batch file

    Hello, everyone!
    I am loading data into Essbase 11.1.2 from MS SQL Server views using ODI 11.1.1.5.0 and Local agent. I created an interface which runs ok if launched manually from ODI.
    Then I created the scenario named MyScenario for this interface and updated odiparams.bat file in *...\agent\bin* folder as follows:
    set SECU_DRIVER=weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    set SECU_URL=jdbc:weblogic:sqlserver://<ServerName>:1433;databaseName=<DatabaseName>
    set SECU_USER=<UserName for Master Repository>
    set SECU_PASS=<encoded password for MasterRepository UserName>
    set ODI_USER=SUPERVISOR
    set ODI_PASS=<encoded password for SUPERVISOR>
    set WORK_REPOSITORY=<Work Repository name>
    Then I created the batch file in which I wrote: *...\agent\bin>startscen MyScenario 001 GLOBAL 5*
    However the scenario is not executed with the following error message:
    ERROR ODI-1132 Agent Internal encountered a warning: ODI-1414: Error connecting to agent Internal: a JDBC error occurs while connecting to the master repository. Caused by: org.springframework.jdbc.CannotGetJdbcConnectionException: Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Exception occurred while getting connection: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: Cannot get Connection from Datasource: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    I will be very grateful for any hints!

    A fundamental clarification : where is your master repository database located ? Is it on SQL Server as well ?
    The MS SQL Server connection that you mentioned in the SECU_DRIVER, SECU_URL should point to the MR database.
    Is the server name in SECU_URL a Fully Qualified domain name or just an IP Address reachable from localhost ?
    startscen will spawn a new instance of local agent.
    startcmd will reuse an existing agent (not local).
    Not sure why your local agent is getting a Network Connection Error.

              i solved it.
              it is about relative path and absolute path.
              coz browser tries to search /common/checklogin.jsp
              from documentRoot.

  • Exception in sending message thru SOAP from java file to web service

    Hi,
    I am trying to invoke a web service from a java file.
    But my code error out at particular statement where I am sending the message i.e. at
    SOAPMessage reply = connection.call(message, destination);
    The error message is
    java.security.privilegedactionexception: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: For Input string "".
    I am using the wsdl link in destination variable-
    String destination = "http://soad.xxxxxxxxxx.org:80/soa-infra/services/default/xxxxxx/xxxxxxx?WSDL";
    Please help me with the solution.

    Guys, any ideas because this is driving me a bit insane...
    If you have any alternative implementations I'm open to them but I'd like to know why isn't this working really...
    Thanks and regards

  • Error using DOS Command from Java

    Hi,
    I am using the following code to execute the DOS command to delete a file from Java.
    cmd = "del " + fileName;
    Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc = run.exec(cmd);
    Getting the following exception during runt time.
    Exception = java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: del D:\LAWDOCS\P50074\12\3\36857.3  error=2 --
    Can some body throw light on this?.
    Thanks,
    Jeyaraman R

    "del" is not an actual executable file, but instead a command in the command interpreter. So you can't just execute del like that, you have to run the command interpreter and tell it to execute the del command.
    If you are on windows NT, 2000 or XP, replace your command with "cmd /C del " + filename.
    If you are on Windows 95, 98 or ME, use "command /C del " + filename. (I am not quite sure if the switch for this is called /C on old windows version.)
    (But why not use File.delete()?)
