Forwarding emails to more than one address...

What is the simplest way to have email sent to [email protected] get delivered to [email protected] and [email protected]?
I would prefer not to create a mailing list for just two or three recipients.
Is it possible in the WA to create an address that is forwarded and put [email protected], [email protected] in the forward to field?

ROFL! Thanks for this, I had the same question a few days ago. I think it's brilliant when people make the effort to come back to the forums when they find a solution themselves, so thanks a bunch for making them more useful.

    A mailbox in Unity Connection is intended - and licensed - for a single user. It was not intended to allow for multiple receiptient distribution. If you want that functionality you could create each user a mailbox, add a distribution list with the mailboxes as members, and a call handler to address message to the DL instead of an individual mailbox the messages out.
    Short of that you would need to have the SMTP smart host forward the message to multiple people (i.e. an email distribution list)

    I know there are groups in the address book, but I have a reason to want to not include all the addresses in one address book. Is it possible to have more than one address book on my IMac G5 running Tiger? If so, how would I do it?
    Also, I am having a problem sending to a large group of 155. The message comes back that it cannot send because of a syntax error. Could that be caused by importing my addresses from an older system? Does anyone have a quick method for testing to see which is the bad email address that is causing the problem? I know the problem is not with the server because I can still send to this group on my older Mac running 9.2 system.

    I see two possibilities, neither of them very convenient. One is two set up a separate user account. Each account will have its own address book, and you will need to switch between accounts to switch books. The other is to have a second address book stored somewhere away from ~/Library/Application Support/AddessBook/AddressBook.data. You would move the current book to the desktop and drag in the alternate to use it. You could set up a script to move them around. I see great opportunities for getting them confused! A variant on this, perhaps simpler and more reliable, would be to use the AB backup facility to keep two separate backups - restore whichever you currently need.
    Can you give more details of the syntax error? Where is it coming from?

    Yes, but you can only send email to one of those addresses when you use that contact. That is, you have to pick a default address for the card when you send an email to that person or company.

    You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
    You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

    The main issue is that mail to the alias turns up in the same inbbox as that to the primary address. Though you could instead create a new iCloud account and sign into it in System Preferences (or Settings)>Mail, Contacts and Calendars, probably the easiest way to deal with this is to set up a Rule to move all messages to the alias to a new folder which you would create. (You do this on the iCloud website; click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose 'Rules'.)

    Until I tunes match comes out it does not matter.  I cloud is for e mail, contacts, and calendars.  Your I cloud ID MUST be an @me.com ID.

    Ok, now, typically, it's mysteriously working. No idea if what I was doing caused it. Set up the account as a POP one using my work outgoing server instead of mail.me.com, discovered that the phone automatically removed all my outgoing mail servers, right after I'd activated them all, so went back and reactivated. Sent email successfully. Created another account as IMAP but everything else the same, and now it suddenly works.
    This has happened to me several times in the past.

    I wanted to do the same thing with tickets that had unique numbers on them, so I created a group in my address book and put the numbers in the notes section, then I made my document just a little bigger than my ticket and had the Note field in the ticket where I wanted the number. When I did the mail merge it created the tickets with the numbers, then to print I put 9 pages per sheet and that way I have 9 tickets per sheet and only 20 sheets for 180 tickets.
    Worked that way for me, hope it helps!

    You could always create 2 groups in address book, one for business and one for personal. You will then have an "all contacts" list which will have them mixed, but you can also view by group, which will show just business or just personal. When you need to export, just export the business group.
