Frequently crash ios application in ADf mobile

Hi,
I have create one application which is working fine in simulator of Iphone. But when i deployed this application in Ipod device. It is frequently crash which is not applicable for any client.
What is reason behind that.

Hi, can you please specify what type of iPod devices are you testing with?
Older iPod and iPads have very limited RAM, and application can run out of memory. We would have to look at what model of iPod touch it is, and see if it has enough RAM to run the app.

i already imported AdfmfJavaUtilities package dont know why it showing exception.
and while i am debugging the GetConnection.java value of 'Dir' is null.i am not getting what is the AdfmfJavaUtilities.ApplicationDirectory?

ADF mobile deployment

i'm new on adf mobile and i'm developing and android application using adf mobile and android sdk manager,but i have one problem and this is about the time of deployment,it takes about 10 to 12 minutes every time
to deploy the application on emulator and i don't know if it's normal or not,if it's not normal plz tell me how to reduce the time of deployment

Unfortunately, the Android simulator is very slow. This is because it emulates an ARM processor on your x86 machine. The only workaround is to deploy to a physical device instead.

ADF Mobile: Handling wildcard certificates by GeoTrust

Hello.
We have developed an application with ADF Mobile and seem to be stuck at the SSL certificate for our webservice.
We have lists of items that are filled by a java method connecting to a REST webservice. This service is secured by a wildcard certificate rather than a normal one.
Can it be that ADF Mobile's JVM can't handle the wildcard certificates? I get the error
javax.microedition.pki.certificateException: Certificate was issued by an unrecognized entity.
Our certificate was issued by GeoTrust and is valid until 2015. It shouldn't be an "unrecognized entity" then right?

Okay so these two things give me big trouble:
First, the JVM (J2ME Spec) doesn't include any API's to disable SSL verification as can be found here:

Also The RestServiceAdapter probably uses HttpConnection class which doesn't support wildcard SSL certs. The problem is known as can be read here:

So...if the backend uses a wildcard cert and this can't be changed and the webservice has to be secured, adf mobile is no good :(

Webcenter Portal Support for ADF Mobile Browser

Hi All,
I am currently working on an ADF Mobile Browser Application for WebCenter Portal.
The main issue I face is that WebCenter has some really powerful taskflows and connectors. Is it possible for us to make use of these taskflows in ADF mobile browser? It seems that when used within the trinidad framework, the taskflows are broken.
I understand from documentation that "Except for page fragments, pop-up in dialogs, and region support, you can use the ADF task flow to develop ADF Mobile browser applications. ADF Mobile browser application that use the ADF task flow only support the trinidad-simple skin family"
Does this mean that taskflows that use the page fragments, pop up dialogs dont work or that you cant use them within jsff and pop ups?

Publishing ADF Mobile App to Google Play

Hi,
I wrote an application in ADF Mobile, and I published it to Google Play.
When I try to install it on some devices from Google Play (Nexus 7 for example) I get the following error: "Your device isn't compatible with this version error message".
I also tried to install "El Perico" app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.synergetic.EPMobile&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5zeW5lcmdldGljLkVQTW9iaWxlIl0.) and I got the same error.
When I download the app to the device and install it manually, it works perfectly.
How can I disable any limitation on this app?

Hi,
I found the issue.
Nexus 7 lacks backward camera, so it was not compatible to this device.
I removed from Android manifest all the unnecessary required permissions, and it works like a charm.

How to find MAC-Address of a device using ADF mobile?

I am developing an mobile application using ADF Mobile. The application necessitates the use of MAC Address for further development.
Android SDK provides an easy way to find the MAC Address as:
WifiManager wifiManager = (WifiManager) getSystemService(Context.WIFI_SERVICE);
WifiInfo wInfo = wifiManager.getConnectionInfo();
String macAddress = wInfo.getMacAddress();
Is there a similar way in ADF mobile to retrieve the MAC Address of the device?

ADF-Mobile app will not rotate in iOS simulator or device

We have been coding an ADF-Mobile app in JDeveloper and testing on both a Motorola tablet and an iPad.
Both our application, as well as the demo "Deployment Successful" (found here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/MobileTutorial/jdtut_11r2_54_1.html) application rotate fine from portrait to landscape and back on the Motorola device, however, the same code will not rotate on an iPad.
I understand that the device orientation functionality is controlled in the deployment profile. I have been successful with forcing my app to launch in landscape mode OR portrait mode (By deselecting both portrait settings or both landscape settings, respectively in my deployment profile) however, when I leave all 4 enabled, my app seems to be locked in right-side-up portrait mode (It will not even rotate between portrait modes)
Has anyone experienced this issue with iOS devices and the rotation functionality, and if so, is there a workaround?

Hi,
There is a known issue when you use Xcode 4.5 and iOS SDK 6 to compile your app - the app would not rotate correctly. If you use Xcode 4.4.1 and the associated SDK, then rotation will work fine on both iOS 5 and 6 devices.
Xcode 4.5 certification should be coming soon - for now please try to use 4.4.
If you are already using 4.4, please let me know and perhaps there are configuration issues.

ADF Mobile selectManyCheckbox ios behavior

I'm using Jdev 11.1.2.4.39.64.36 and developing a mobile app using ADF Mobile. I'm deploying to Iphone (4 and 5) and Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android 4.1.2).
Use case: i have a list with many items and i have to scroll and select one or many items within selectManyCheckbox component
It seems that the selectManyCheckbox is not working properly on IOS devices.
When i scroll on the Iphone the item gets checked just by scrolling the page. The normal behavior would be scrolling the page first (the item remains unchecked) and then click the item wich i'm looking for (the item gets marked/checked).
I have tested with the CompGallery Sample provided with JDeveloper.
In this demo there´s a Text & Select page and selectManyCheckbox component.
I've included something like 20 items just to be possible to scroll the page. On my android device worked nicely! On my Iphone i got that behavior described above.

If you have the webservice WSDL, you can use SOAP UI, create a Mock Service and use that one for testing.
Soap UI has a feature to create a mock service. Basically a stub web service, based upon a WSDL.
In this mock service, you can define the response that is sent back upon a request, so you can test your application with 'live' data.
With this mock service, you can create a data control based on the web service in JDeveloper and use this one for testing.

ADF Mobile - getPicture function in iOS

Hello Everyone,
We are using getPicture method in ADF Mobile to take photos in our application. Problem is that the function is returning a tmp path in iOS and the photos are deleted once the application is closed. How can we store the photos permanently? Do we need to copy and save them somewhere else once they are stored or is there a better way to do it?

ADF Mobile application and DMS synchronization

Hi all,
I'm working on a demo based on a multi-platform mobile application working mostly offline (using a local database which must be manually synced when the device is online).
I've started watching at ADF Mobile Framework and Oracle Database Mobile Server.
Now I'm a little confused about how these two components interact each others.
Looking at some video/documentation I see that using ADF MF I can create a mobile APP for iOS/Android writing pure java code. Then I can deploy the application using a deployment profile to obtain my application, ready to be installed on my device.
The question is, how my mobile app can be kept synced to a MW running DMS?
I've read Invoking Synchronization in Applications With the Mobile Sync APIs, Using an Android Application on the SQLite Mobile Client , Integrate ADFm applications into Database Mobile Server
but I didn't get how that is supposed to work.
It seems like I have to add osync_me.jar library to my project, set parameters for my ose.ini file (using SetParam.run) then create a OSESession and use sync() method. This is supposed to get from DMS delta modification and put into it my modifications performed locally.
That's it? Do I need something more?
Here How to Integrate Oracle Adf Mobile App and DMS? there's a very similar question without public response, is there any detailed documentation about this topic?

Looking at that document it seems I should import libraries, edit programmatically ose.ini and than invoke OSESession.sync() using my user e pass as stated in my previous post, and everything is supposed to work fine.
But I'm a bit confused because looking at more tutorials and documentation I saw more steps like application publication through mobile server (packaging wizard), installation of oracle update app on mobile device and so on... and I didn't get what these steps are useful for and if they are mandatory for ADFm developed app too? (I'm referring to Database Mobile Server Demonstration - YouTube for example)

Using database views in ADF mobile client application

Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and WLS 10.3.4.
I have developed a POC in ADF mobile client application both with and without synchronization. However, both work with entity objects based on tables.
I need to use database views instead of tables. When I try to include entity object (based on views) in the view object, it shows an error saying "Only the entity objects based on tables can be selected"
Please guide me if there is a work around for this.
Also, please let me know if there is way to develop an ADF mobile client application skipping the use of entity objects at all and using view objects directly to specify the database query and fetch data from the database.

Currently, out of box, ADF Mobile Client does not support synchronization against Database Views. This is because Mobile Server imposes some schema restrictions to ensure synchronization with multi-table views would work correctly. This schema restriction requires, for example, the view must have a primary parent table with key defined, and also all base table must be included in the data publication. These dependencies requires manual resolution and advanced planning, and is managed outside of the ADF Mobile Client/JDeveloper project.
To continue development, you would need to create server Entity Objects directly against the base tables. You can then create the mobile ADF Business Component (EOs, VOs, etc). You can then create View Objects in your ADF Mobile Client application based on the database views, in order to retrieve the data you need exactly. In other words, instead of basing EO on the database view, create View Objects in the mobile applicaiton to mimic what you had in the View Object.
Is there any other reason why you would need to access data via database views, instead of directly against base tables?

Error while deploying the ADF Mobile application to the Android Emulator.

Hi,
I'm getting an error when trying to deploying a basic helloworld ADF mobile application to my Android sdk emulator which is already running as below.
I'm not able to make anything from this limited log. Can anyone have a look and help me with what could be wrong.
