FRM-10242: Cannot call linked-in Forms from Form Builder. error

FRM-10242: Cannot call linked-in Forms from Form Builder.
Cause: The menu designer specified a call to linked-in Forms from within Form Builder.
Action: Notify your DBA.
does anyone know why this happens.
I have this main-menu.. and when i click on one of the submenus which should call the form....i get this error.

Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.
Santhosh.

• FRM-40734 when calling external DLL Function from Forms 6

Even though some answers were given to my previous help request ("Again: Forms 6 and user-defined data types") I wasn't able to solve the problem of passing a parameter of an user-defined type to an external DLL function residing in the SECURSIGN.DLL library (the closest solution was to declare that "composite" parameter using the ROWTYPE clause referencing a custom-made table created just for the sake of defining that perticular datatype).
So I concentrated on SECURSIGN.DLL functions using more trivial data types, like a function requiring just four character strings as parameters.
I generated the necessary PL/SQL support using the FFI.
I discovered that also the simplest calls to external functions fail at runtime with the generic error FRM-40734.
I located the error: it happens just at the moment of calling the function from within the FFI-generated package body. Before that, the DLL is loaded with no problem, the function is correctly registered, and a function handle is regularly returned.
As long as I can regularly issue the very same call with the very same parameters from Visual Basic, I can't understand what's going wrong (ALL the needed DLL are in the same directory as the FMB/FMX forms).
I will greatly appreciate any help that You may be able to provide.

I have noticed just now that a dump file having a name like ifrun60_dump_299, is generated by FORMS every time I issue the aborted call to the foreign function.
Inside the form dump file, apart from useless info like Registers and so on, the message:
"Could not find Module32First"
By a FILE/FIND/CONTAINING TEXT I searched all the DLLs, and I noticed that Module32First is a routine that can be found within each of the following DLLs:
Cl32
d2kwut32
d2kwut60
I tried to load those DLLs along with SECURSIGN.DLL by modifying the PROCEDURE LoadLibrary into the FFI-generated PLL code, and I have apparently no problem in loading all the DLLs that I wish, but the error persists, and that dump file is constantly generated, always looking for the "Module32First" routine.
How can I avoid all that mess and the FRM-40734 error??

• FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA attributes from Parameter List: in

Hi,
I am pretty sure this is a webutil message. I am running 10g through OC4J, all was working well one minute then on startup of the form I get these 2 message 4 or 5 times:-
FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA attributes from Parameter List: invalid list ID.
followed by:
FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA_MULTIPART attributes from Parameter List: invalid list ID.
These 2 message are repeated 4 or 5 times then things appear to run fine, I can open and read files, transfer them etc. The only thing I can think I have done differently is add a bean to a data block but when I remove the bean and restart the OC4J I still get the messages.
Any ideas?

Fixed,
I dropped the WEBUTIL object group then added it again by adding the object library then subclassing it to the object group. The error messages are gone.
Cheers

• FRM-40039: Cannot attach library webutil while opining form

I have installed webutil in Windows 2000 in order to perform some features.
When I run my forms from Forms Builder this message appear
FRM-40039: Cannot attach library webutil while opining form.
I don't know what is wrong. I have set the virtuals path, like this:
For an Oracle Developer Suite installation, add the following line to the file
j2ee/DevSuite/application-deployments/forms/forms90web/orion-web
.xml under the Oracle Developer Suite Oracle Home:
(The following assumes that you have installed WebUtil into a directory c:\webutil)
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/webutil"
real-path="c:/webutil/lib" />
On a OracleAS install, define the same virtual directory in the forms90/server/forms90.conf file:
AliasMatch ^/forms90/webutil/(..*) "c:/webutil/lib/$1"
I need some help!!

You need to include the location of the pll into the FORMS90_PATH that is defined in your environment file - e.g. default.env

• Call Form from Form

Hi All:
Any one can tell me the basic steps for how to call Form from form through push button.
I am using forms& reports6i

You can use open_form/call_from but when one form invokes another form by executing open_form the first form remains displayed, and operators can navigate between the forms as desired. when one form invokes another form by executing call_form, the called form is modal with respect to the calling form. That is, any windows that belong to the calling form are disabled, and operators cannot navigate to them until they first exit the called form.

Use web.show_document instead of Run_Report_Object. If the jsp contains a paper layout you can still use Run_Report_Object, but you have to specify the filename extension .jsp along with the filename.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I tried it, but got the same result. I think the difference in the syntax is due to the Oracle versus SQL92 standard
conformance. Your statament is the Oracle version and mine is the SQL92. I think both statements are acceptable
by the Oracle.

On the Web you can call the workbook with URL and parameters by using web.show_document in forms.

Hi,
Use web.show_document for calling the reports. Check out forms online help for syntax and example of web.show_document.

• Run form from form builder

Hi,
I am using Form 6i and copied Forms60Libraries in my local machine. I am developing form which will be registered with oracle apps. Now I want to run this form locally instead of uploading into server everytime while testing which I don't have access depending on other for this move.
So, Please guide me to run this form from Form Builder locally if there is a way.
Thanks in advance.

As Alex suggested, you will need local copies of all the required Apps resource files (*.pll, *.plx, etc). Running an Apps form from the Forms Builder does not require any special setup on your workstation beyond this. However, even with all the required resource files you will run into errors each time your form calls one of the standard apps built-ins. It has been a while since I've worked with Apps, but I was able to get around the calls to these built-ins by checking if the Form was running on the web or client/server and only calling the Apps built-in if running on the web. It was a bit of a pain to setup, but it was worth being able to test my form localling from the Forms Builder rather than upload the form to the server in order to test the runtime. Here is how I accomplished this. In each trigger that calls an Apps built-in (eg: APP_STANDARD.Event) do the following. Typically, I only needed to add the following code the Form level triggers, but it depended on each form.
/* Example When-New-Form-Instance */
DECLARE
UI_type VARCHAR2(15) := Get_Application_Property(USER_INTERFACE);
BEGIN
IF ( UI_type = 'WEB' ) THEN
-- Execute Apps built-ins...
APP_STANDARD.EVENT('WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE');
END IF;
-- Perform the rest of your processing here
END;Hope this helps,

• Unable to run the form from Form Builder 10g

HI,
I am having a problem with running a form with form builder 10g.
I have create a form with some text boxes to display values in a table.
When i compile and run the form it does not run The error shown is
HTTP 403(Forbidden) You are not authorised to view this page.
The Link used for the above is:
http://127.0.0.1:1740/sWuCqhMKUT1btA1N5cXLCRshkJzmgKRIlCEUFd9RL520LVq0
The port number 1740 changes everytime. I dont know why.
I have started the OC4J instance before starting the Form Builder.
I have made the changes to the runtime preferences in the form builder.
http://localhost:8889/forms/frmservlet
But it doesn't work when i try to run the form from Form Builder.
ie Program-->Run Form
The form works properly when using the 'Run a form on the Web Utility' provided with Developer Suite.
Can anyone please suggest a solution. I have searched the forum but didnot find a solution.
Thanks
V.S.

One of our DBAs has installed the software.
It was a default installation, I believe, as no configuration was done during the installation except for increasing the virtual memory size.
Post installation we changed the tnsnames.ora file and the sqlnet.ora file.
Do i need to configure something ?
Thanks,
V.S.
