Hi,
I have Oracle App Server and Developer 10.1.2.0.2 on a Red Hat Linux Installation.

  • Can't find frmcmp_batch.sh in my new Classic 11g Installation

    Hi All.
I've installed Classic(Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer) 11G Application Server 11.1.3 on a linux box.
The idea is to transfer source files (.FMB, .RDF) an have them compiled on the Linux box. These files were built on 10g. I just want to transfer those files and compile them on 11g.
To my surprise, frmcmp_bath.sh is missing on my ORACLE_HOME:
    [oracle@union ~]$ cd Middleware/ClassicPFRD/bin
    [oracle@union bin]$ pwd
    /u01/oracle/Middleware/ClassicPFRD/bin
    [oracle@union bin]$ ls f*
    frmbld frmcmp frmcmp_batch frmctrl frmweb
    [oracle@union bin]$
What's the problem here ...? I know i did not choose any Builders during the config phase....?
    What to do ...?
Also, getting this error when trying to launch programs:
    [oracle@union bin]$ echo $ORACLE_HOME
    /u01/oracle/Middleware/ClassicPFRD
    [oracle@union bin]$ ./frmcmp
./frmcmp: error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    [oracle@union bin]$
Help will be greatly appreciated ...!
    Regards, Luis ....

Listen guyz i think you took me wrong i have resolved the problem and it will work for you as well, first you have to unhide the user/library folder in lion for that read this:
    http://technocraz.wordpress.com/2011/07/27/updated-to-lion-must-be-missing-user- library-here-is-how-to-get-it-back/
after having the folder visible open you time machine in finder and copy the address book from User/Library/Application Support/AddressBook and paste the same in your User/Library/Application Support/AddressBook.
you will see all your contacts immediatly, worked for me and im sure it will work for everyone.

  • Frmcmp.sh works, frmcmp_batch.sh does not

I'm trying to compile using frmcmp_batch.sh instead of frmcmp.sh so as to eliminate the need for x-server. I can compile using frmcmp.sh just fine. Works great, except that x-server and ssh don't seem to like each other and about 25% of the time we get a communication error.
Anyway, I can compile using frmcmp.sh, but when I try to use frmcmp_batch.sh, it gives me a FRM-91500: Unable to start/complete the build.
Any ideas why it works with one and not the other?
    Darren

I have set all those variables... from env:
    FORMS_PATH=/export/home/darren/forms
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI_PROJECT/lib:/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI_PROJECT/Apache/Apache/libexec:/usr/lib:/usr/share/lib:/usr/openwin/lib:/usr/openwin/bin:/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI_PROJECT/jdbc/lib:/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI_PROJECT/lib32:/usr/ucblib:/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI_PROJECT/network/jre1.4.1/lib/sparc/native_threads:/usr/java/lib
    NLS_LANG=AMERICA
    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/product/10123BI
    TERM=vt100
    ORACLE_TERM=vt100
    Specifially,
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, TERM and ORACLE_HOME are all set by my .profile. Those values appear to be correct.
FORMS_PATH is just a forms directory in my home directory. I can compile using frmcmp.sh just fine there.
I've seen two different posts regarding the value for NLS_LANG, and it appears that it should be either AMERICA or AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8. If I use the former, I can successfully compile with frmcmp.sh, but if I use the later I get the FRM-91500 error. So I'm making the assumption that the proper value for me is simply AMERICA.
ORACLE_TERM is set to x-term when I'm compiling using frmcmp.sh. I assumed that the frmcmp_batch.sh would want my regular term, not an x-term, but I've tried with both values. Neither works.
    Do you see anything there?
    Darren

  • R12: missing forms elements after compilation using frmcmp_batch

We are compiling our custom forms using frmcmp_batch, which runs without any warning or error message. But if the compiled form is launched the basic elements as textboxes and buttons disappear. First, we load the environment variables from env file at <APPL_TOP>/<instance>_<maschine>.env and also <INST_TOP>/ora/10.1.2/<instance>_<maschine>.env. After that we run:
    frmcmp_batch userid=apps/****@<instance> module=<AU_TOP>/12.0.0/forms/US/XXTEST.fmb output_file=<XXCUST_TOP>/12.0.0/forms/US/XXTEST.fmx module_type=form compile_all=special
    Thanks for your help,

Please put your query to the Forms forum and you would get a much quicker response.

  • Upgrade from 11i to R12 - Custom Forms,Reports and Workflows

    Dear Community Friends,
We are planning for upgrade from oracle apps 11.5.10.2 to R12.
We have custom Forms,Form Libraries,Reports and Workflows.
Kindly provide me for approach on how to migrate Custom form libraries, reports and Workflows.
I beleive, this thread will exists as one shot point for custom forms, reports, workflow upgradation from 11i to r12 with detailed steps.
I know that many links exists here in the forum for all the above objects mentioned, but still from all those i am able to get a clear picture for oracle forms but not for custom form libraries ,reports and workflows.
Also, this post will provide a low level, practical picture of the steps for those who are in line with this.
Links i have read for all these in our forum are:
    For Custom Forms,
Re: Planning to upgrade from 11i to R12
Re: Custom forms: After upgrading 11i to R12
ofcourse,'n' number of links exists providing metalink notes also.
Hussain,Helios and some others also has given many updates regd this.
    For custom workflow upgradation,
    Upgrade Workflow 11i to R12
    Workflow Upgrade
    Workflow Upgrade
For reports, links mentioned the below metalink notes:
Do Not Compile EBS R12 Reports Using rwconverter.sh or Reports Builder from IDS 10gR2 [ID 786794.1]
Using the OracleAS 10.1.2 Forms and Reports Builders with Oracle Applications Release 12 [ID 444248.1]
Per my understanding, after searching in many threads,i am here by summarising the practical low level steps for custom forms migration
Please correct me,if i am wrong.
    1) Download the Forms(.fmb's) and all PLL's(all the PLL from resource folder in AU_TOP) into a Local Machine Folder
    2) Open the forms using Forms Developer 10G and connect to DB
    3) Compile by clicking compilein Forms Developer and then save it.
    4) Upload the Saved Forms(.fmb's) into the new R12 server(system) in the respective custom paths(paths similar to 11i Server)
    5) Compile all the forms using the command like below(example command is shown below or f60 gen commands or frmcmp.sh utility) in the respective custom form paths,
    this will generate the .fmx's.
    frmcmp_batch module=FORMNAME.fmb userid=apps/apps output_file=FORMNAME.fmx compile_all=yes

    6) Open the form and check in R12 instance
As per my understanding for custom form libraries,we can just copy paste the PLL's from 11i server to R12 server (Please correct me,if i am wrong)
Can anyone please help me out in custom reports and custom workflows.Sorry that,i could not get a practical and clear picture for reports and also for workflow even after referring many threads and metalink notes mentioned.
As for reports, some says that Developer Suite 10g can be used and .rdf can be used in R12.
Some says that reports should be converted to XML published as reports does not exists in R12.
So,i am not clear on this.
    Thanks,

So,i am not clear on this. You can still use RDF files in R12, and just follow the approach you mentioned above, and you do not have to migrate them to XML publisher (though it is recommended, but this can be done after the upgrade as an enhancement task).
For custom workflow, you need also to do the same thing, open them using workflow builder and make sure they work in R12 (correct the code if required and save them again in R12 once they work properly).
    Thanks,
    Hussein

    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Salam Asif, Srini, Hussein,
1st of all please accept my apologize of being late in reply due to fever that attacked me yesterday!
    To Asif,
number of invalid objects now 16, and all of them related to customized schema. Actually there were 3 more related to apps and I could recompile them.
    To Srini,
I'm not sure if it's modified recently, I'm Apps DBA so I'll check with the developer and get back to you ASAP. Unlesss you have some guidance to check if it's modified or not, also what do you mean by replace it with a good back? does this mean can I get CUSTOM.pll from any other envrionment and put it there?
    To Hussein,
Can you compile the form on your client using forms builder with no issues?
I don't think so but I'll confirm with the developer.
Where this package is used? What is line 24 and column 19?
Again I've no idea, I'm sorry about that and I'll ask the developer.
    Regards,
    Ahmed

  • Unable to generate form CSTFVTLC.fmx even after Patch 8528194

    Hell EBS Gurus,
We have recently upgraded from 11i to 12.1.3 EBS and adadmin is failing on gerating form CSTFVTLC.fmx. I have followed Note 130686.1 and applied Patch 8528194 and a manual compilation:
    frmcmp userid=apps/apps module=CSTFVTLC.fmb output_file=$AU_TOP/forms/US/CSTFVTLC.fmx module_type=form batch=no compile_all=special
    or
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/frmcmp_batch.sh module=$AU_TOP/forms/US/CSTFVTLC.fmb userid=APPS/APPS@OFD1 output_file=$AU_TOP/forms/US/CSTFVTLC.fmx module_type=form batch=no compile_all=special
    or
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/frmcmp.sh module=$AU_TOP/forms/US/CSTFVTLC.fmb userid=APPS/APPS@OFD1 output_file=$AU_TOP/forms/US/CSTFVTLC.fmx module_type=form batch=no compile_all=special
all still get the same error:
FRM-91500: Unable to start/complete the build.
    I manually edited $TNS_ADMIN/tnsnames.ora adding:
    OFD1=
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=ofindev03.macott.com)(PORT=1528))
    (CONNECT_DATA=
    (SERVICE_NAME=OFD1)
    (INSTANCE_NAME=OFD1)
and then had a different error:

  • Converting Forms 6i to 10g on Linux

I hope this will help ...
    REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS
The Comet6i application is be migrated to 10g in two phases.
    •     Phase-I : Migrated from Comet6i Application to 10g on W2K Server.
    •     Phase-II : Made the Comet10g Application Linux Compatible.
    PHASE I
In the Phase-I, the COMET6i application is migrated to 10g on Win2K Server. The following tasks are to be carried out during this phase.
    1.     Source Code Verification
    2.     Upgrading of Comet Application objects to 10g
    3.     Migration of 10g specific forms to be done individually
    4.     Check for the completeness of the process.
    Pre-requisites
    i.     Developer/200010g IDS is installed on all COMET Workstations.
ii.     Change the Windows Registry value of TNS_Admin = M:\OraXP\NET80\admin
    Step 1: Source Code Verification
Checked out the COMET6i version3.5 of the application source code from Harvest comet6i repository. Excluded any unnecessary files from the application. Created an excel/spreadsheet that contains all of the files sorted by category (forms, libraries, menus, graphics, utilities and reports).
    Step 2: Upgraded Application
    I.     Did the code changes in 6i forms
    1)     RUN_PRODUCT: Every occurrence of run_product in forms has been replaced with CALL_REPORT procedure which is in the attached Library Comfun.pll.
    2)     V$SESSION: Wherever there is a query for selecting OSUSER from V$session has been replaced with :GLOBAL.ntuser.
    3)     WIN_API: WIN_API.get_windows_username replaced with :GLOBAL.ntuser.
II.     Upgraded the forms from 6i to 10g in batch mode.
Upgrading of COMET Application is done in the following sequence:
    1)     Library files (.pll/plx): Opened each library file in iDS and compiled it. This created the 10g version of each library.
    2)     Form files (.fmb/.fmx): Started with form files that do not have references (List : MST021, MST027, DEFAULT, MODEL, MST046). Opened these forms individually in the iDS and generated it.
    3)     Migrated all the remaining forms to 10g in batch mode using Oracle utility frmcmp.exe .
Step 4: Checked for the completeness.
    1)     UNIT TESTING: Unit testing was done after complete migration of the forms 6i to forms10g on Win2K Server and following problems were fixed.
    2)     CANVAS & FIELDS WIDTH: When we upgraded to 10g forms, some of the fields’ width was changed and canvases were overlapping to each other. This was due to non-existence of the parent property classes. We ensured that every master form is present in the directory before up gradation.
    3)     FILE NAME EXTENSION: We have renamed every form / report / icons / libraries to upper case and extension of the files in lower case for uniformity across modules. (eg: STK001.fmb, STK01.rdf, COMFUN.pll)
    PHASE II
In the Phase-II, the COMET10g application is made Linux Compatible.
    Issues
Following issues are identified for carrying out this task.
    1.     Case sensitivity of Linux
    2.     OS Related Function Calls and Built-Ins
    3.     Batch Commands
    4.     HOST Commands
    Solutions
The possible solution to the above mentioned issues are:
    1.     Case Sensitivity : It is suggested that all forms, reports as well as libraries to use UPPER CASE to eliminate this issue. This will provide uniformity in coding.
    2.     OS Related Function Calls: OS routine calls such as WIN_API routines has to be changed to corresponding Linux function calls
    3.     Batch Commands : Batch commands used in the forms has to be changed to Linux shell scripts.
    4.     HOST Commands : These commands are to be changed to corresponding Linux commands.
    Steps
    1.     Generated XML for 10g forms in batch mode.
    1)     frmf2xml.bat: Using Oracle 10g utility frmf2xml.bat; all 10g forms were converted into XML format for editing purpose.
    2.     Utility developed to address the case-sensitivity issue of linux.
    1)     A basic utility is developed to change the following keywords in the XML file.
    2)     FORM Calling Routines : All the form-names were changed to upper-case in CALL_FORM, NEW_FORM & OPEN_FORM built-ins.
    3)     PROPERTY VALUES CHANGES: Values of LibraryLocation, ParentModule, ParentFileName, and IconFilename are changed to upper case to ensure compatibility with Linux OS.
    3.     Fixed the basic problems in the XML file itself using the utility.
    4.     Converted the XML back to fmb.
    1)     frmxml2f.bat: Oracle’s frmxml2f.bat utility is used to convert xml files back to FMB format. All master forms are done individually and rest all files in batch mode.
    5.     Generated the fmx on Linux in batch mode.
    1)     Created a directory structure in Linux for Comet Development.
    2)     WINSCP Utility: Copied all fmb files to Linux server using WINSCP utility.
    3)     frmcmp_batch.sh: Oracle’s frmcmp_batch.sh shell script used to compile all the fmb to generate fmx i.e. runtime in Linux environment.
    6.     Icon files are bundled to a jar file.
    1)     icons jar file: Icon files were bundled to a jar file with the support of DBA.
    2)     UI_ICON_Extension: Utility search to change the registry to show icons / bmp / gif files as icons
    7.     Copied the reports to Linux server.
    1)     rwconverter Utility: All COMET 6i reports are upgraded to 10g using Oracle utility rwconverter.exe in batch mode, and then copied to Linux Server using WINSCP facility.
    8.     Tested the application for functionality.
    1)     UNIT TESTING: Unit testing was done on each form for testing the functionality and data flow by COMET TEAM. The following points are to be taken care, before going to live:

i think you better hire a professional consultant for this kind of help, seeing that the requirements are a bit complicated.

  • How to deploy forms? Or: FRM-92101 on Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2)

    Hello,
we have a problem with deploying changed FMX-Files.
We work with an OAS 10.1.2.0.2 and the Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2. The Compilation works fine with frmcmp_batch.sh on the server (Linux X86).
And these Files are accessible within the JInitiator-Applet. All fine.
But now there's the problem: If anyone has opened a FMX-File within JInitiator and this FMX-File is compiled again, the compilation is successful but the access on this form is not. The user only get an error
FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration.
Please look into the web-server log file for detatails.
    Details...
    Java Exception:
oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Forms.session <46> aborted: unable to communicate with runtime process.
    at ...
I remember, there was an equivalent problem under 9i and the solution there was to set the FORMS90_MMAP-Variable. Under 10g there is no such setting. (and this is clearly no solution)
Now my question: There had to be a way to treat this problem. And all of the Forms-Developer had to have the same problem. I would be very happy if anybody could tell here how to deploy correctly.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Ralf

    Yes, indeed.
We want to change fmx-files in a running installation because the functionality of the forms have to change, errors have to be corrected and so on.
I read the suggestions in Note 286762.1, but honestly I think it is to complicated in a development team to handle with two or more directories and to make clear, which one is the production-directory
I think this could not be the only possibility.
    We thought about this:
    - we have a development directory, a "waiting" directory and a productivity-directory.
    The process could be:
    - compiling in the development directory
    - checking, if the fmx-file is in use (with lsof)
    - if the fmx-file is in use, the fmx-file will be transferred into the "waiting" directory
    - it the fmx-file is not in use, it will be transferred into the productivity-directory
    - in regular intervalls a job has to test, if the files in the "waiting" directory are freed. If so they will be transferred, else not.
Only if changes are needed to do immediately (e.g. heavily errors), the fmx-file can be moved manually in the productivity-directory.
But this is only our idea. I thought there has to be a standard deployment-strategy from Oracle or better ideas from other developers.
Perhaps someone has a even better suggestion for us.
Many thanks in advance for every idea,
    Ralf

I am using Oracle 9.2.0.5 database and AS 10.1.2.
The forms were earlier compiled on IAS 9.0.4
Could someone please guide me as how to resolve this error?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sneha

The problem was with a few environment variables. Our DBA has changed the convention of f90 and hence the change in environment variables.
    The problem is solved now.
Thanks a lot for your help.
