    I have been in discussion with Oracle support about the secure printing feature outlined in the document Oracle Forms Services - Secure Web.Show_Document() calls to Oracle Reports. We have been using this with Internet Explorer and our Forms application and have been trying to get it working with Firefox. We were advised to upgrade to 10.1.2.3 (patchset 3) of 10g Application Server but are still encountering (different) issues with Firefox 2. The error we are getting from the java console is:

    I am using the latest Java client version 1.6 update 12. I understand Oracle Support do not support this component, are you able to provide a version that works with firefox?
    Angelo Gifford

    I have got a response from Oracle Support about this issue.
    We need the following lines in webutiljpi.htm in the object tag:
    <PARAM NAME="MAYSCRIPT" VALUE="true">
    <PARAM NAME="digitSubstitution" VALUE="true">
    We need the following lines in <EMBED tag:
         MAYSCRIPT="true"
         digitSubstitution="true"
    This resolved the issue of using the secure print mechanism using frmrwinteg.jar when printing with firefox. I noticed that these parameters are included in basejpi.htm but not webutiljpi.htm.

  • Required frmrwinteg.jar file

    Dear users
    If anybody can write a web link for me for "frmrwinteg.jar" file which I want to use in Web.Show_Document function. Or you can also send me this file directly on my email: [email protected]

    does this work with 10.1.2.3 as i have just upgraded and get an error relating to frmreportsinteg which is in this jar??

  • WARNING: Unable to cache frmrwinteg.jar

    I am seeing this warning message in my Java console. I am running 10g Forms and Reports. Here is my current dilemma - I am able to download 3rd party forms to a local drive, modify them, save and compile them, and then have my changes show up when I run the web application that launches the forms. However, when I try to do the same with a report that gets launched from the same application, my changes don't show up. All of my FORMS90_PATH and REPORTS_PATH variables point to the same location on my computer (whether they be in config files or the registry) but only the forms changes show up. My compiled forms and reports are stored in the same location on my computer. Why are my REPORTS_PATH variables being ignored? Has anyone encountered this problem before? I was hoping the warning message above has something to do with the problem. I'm willing to take any advice at the moment. Thank you.

    Its okay now!
    I got the solution.
    Just increase the keepalive_timeout in the $ORACLE_HOME/webcache/webcache.xml and restart the server.

  • Help needed: FRM-10221 on 10g r2 (10.1.2.0.2) forms and report service

    hi,
    somehow i managed to install 10g r2 f&r service on an x86 machine with rhel4 es update3. moving on, i was given working fmb and mmb ver 5 files (edited using developer2000 and run against 8.0.x db) by a collegue. i've also get 10g dev suite installed on that same machine. compiling the said 2 files were ok.
    $ORACLE_HOME is set to $ORACLE_FRS (where the f&r installed), all config files are intact except for these which were modified lightly.
    i) in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env (originally doesn't has /myFiles)
    FORMS_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/forms/myFiles
    ii) within $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/formsweb.cfg, i add
    [abc]
    form=form01.fmx
    userid=userName/passWord@dbName
    pageTitle="the Title"
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    envFile=default.env
    imageBase=DocumentBase
    logo=no
    the form01.fmx and menu01.mmx are placed in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/myFiles (to reflex the setting in default.env). access to http://myServer:7779/forms/frmservlet?config=abc would give me FRM-10221 could not read menu01. how to solve this?
    can someone show me if i put the mmx and fmx in /the/developer/folder then what config files need to be edited and what variable need to be modified?
    FYI, if both files are in $ORACLE_HOME/forms (and FORM_PATH variable in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env set to this folder) then i didn't catch the problem.
    tqvm.

    Hi Man,
    Well, I think U miss a couple of thinkg, but before we start I would like to mention to the location of your fmx,mmx files. It does not matter where I will put them as long as you will mentioned to the location at your conifg. files.
    Okay, Now I 'll make it simple for you.Normally when I I deploy FR & rep servers I do the following:
    - create a directory call application, under application create a couple of directory ex. exe, ico & env directories
    - In the exe directory will reside all exe. files & in the ico direcotry will reside all your icon's
    - under the directory env create the env file must look like than
    ORACLE_HOME=u01/oracle/forms10g
    NLS_LANG=DUTCH_THE NETHERLANDS.WE8ISO8859P15
    FORMS90_OUTPUT_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MM-RRRR
    FORMS90_OUTPUT_DATETIME_FORMAT=DD-MM-RRRR HH24:mi:ss
    FORMS90_USER_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MM-RRRR|RRRR-MM-DD|DD-MON-RRRR|DD/MM/RRRR|DD/MON/RRRR|RRRR/MM/DD|DD.MM.RRRR
    # Specific environment settings
    FORMS90_PATH=/u01/oracle/applications/exe
    - Under the ENV create or copy registery file ( registery.dat) from /forms/registery/Registery.dat
    to /apps/env. Rename this file to your application name (application name.dat) & add the following lines
    default.icons.iconextension=gif
    default.icons.iconpath=forms90/icons/ ((Optional parameter))
    Configuration files;
    1- (( formsweb.cfg))
    at your formsweb.cfg, you'll need to add the following parameters;
    [Apps name]
    Envfile=/u01/Oracle/Applications/env/filename.env
    Registrypath=/u01/Oracle/Applications/env/filename.dat
    Registry.dat=/u01/Oracle/Applications/env/filename
    form=Your start fmx file
    userid=/@your DB
    archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,frmrwinteg.jar
    archive=f90all.jar,icons.jar,frmrwinteg.jar
    term=/u01/Oracle\Forms10g\forms90\fmrweb.res
    imagebase=documentbase
    #imagebase=codebase
    width=960
    height=540
    #lookandfeel=Oracle
    2- At your forms90.conf, add the following parameters
    # Virtual path mapping for Forms Java jar and class files (codebase)
    AliasMatch ^/forms90/java/(..*) "/u01/Oracle\Forms10g/forms90/java/$1"
    # Virtual path for JInitiator downloadable executable and download page
    AliasMatch ^/forms90/jinitiator/(..*) "/u01/Oracle/Forms10g/jinit/$1"
    # Virtual path for runform.htm (used to run a form for testing purposes)
    AliasMatch ^/forms90/html/(..*) "/u01/Oracle/Forms10g/tools/web90/html/$1"
    #Your Apps virtual path
    AliasMatch ^/forms90/cris/(..*) "/u01/oracle/applications/$1"
    #Your Apps virtual icons
    AliasMatch ^/forms90/icons/(..*) "/u01/oracle/applications/ico/gif/$1"
    Restart your forms& report servers again, then try to start URL to connect to your Apps.
    Let me know,
    Cheers,

    If I am remembering correctly, some changes were necessary in order to make this work with 10.1.2.3. So, if you are using the old jar which you used in previous versions, I would recommend obtaining the one specifically updated for 10.1.2.3. Refer back to the OTN page which has the download and choose the link that references the new version:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/techlisting10gR2.html
    Be sure to clear the client Jar cache before re-testing. This is not the same as the browser cache.

  • FRM-92101- There is a failure in the form server during startup.

    Hi,
    I'm deploying a forms 10g application . I'm using Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 10.1.2.0.2 under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, along with an Oracle 10g Database on another server. Every time I try testing the form services using http://10.0.4.114:7778/forms/frmservlet it brings out the errorFRM-92101- There is a failure in the form server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration. Please look into the web server log file for detail
    Right now, I'm a bit lost. Can anyone please tell me if there is some parameter I have to set, or something I should do to make it work?
    Thanks a lot

    Fabian,
    I did not make changes to those files. The forms services are working on another server with Red hat Rel 4 and 3 . What I did is to configure a new server with Red Hat Rel 5 , took the backup of all the forms binaries and the HOME and restore on the new server. I did the same thing for a server running rel 4 and it has no issue:
    The content of the files are as below:
    DEFAULT.ENV*
    # $Id: default.env 26-apr-2005.16:59:08 sujain Exp $

    # Explanations:
    # - Reports needs the path for libjava.so
    # (.../jre/lib/sparc)
    # - Forms needs two paths to the jre, for libjvm.so and libhpi.so
    # - In JDK 1.4.1 the location of libjvm.so is lib/sparc (there is no
    # classic directory) so we do not include the .../classic directory
    # below. There are other versions of libjvm.so (in directories server,
    # client and hotspot) but we will use the version in lib/sparc for now.

    # formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (frmservlet)
    # This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
    # following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
    # values here will be used.
    # The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
    # which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
    # Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
    # SYSTEM PARAMETERS
    # These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
    # Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
    # string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).
    # Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
    # they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
    # is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
    # USER PARAMETERS
    # These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
    # may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
    # (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?form=myform&width=700")
    # or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)

  • Problems Converting from Form6i to Forms10g/Reports10g - first experiences

    Hello,
    We are converting a Forms6i application to Forms10g.
    There is one fmb-file with a size of more than 3100kb.
    First step and surprise is that after using the
    forms migration assistant for converting the file from
    6i to 10g the size is minimized and now about 1000kb.
    We did not use the migration assistant and opened all
    6i files with FormBuilder10g (WindowsXP)
    Assuming that the conversion will be done if we are saving the file in form10g-builder.
    After doing a lot of chances in the big-fmb file and saving it -
    closing the form and opening it - the changes were lost!
    (Perhaps because there was more than one crash of form builder?)
    My questions are:
    - how can i check if the integrity of my fmb-file is ok?
    - is the minimum hardware requirement for developing a 10g-FMB file on a PC more than > 256MB RAM/450 MHz Processor?
    - for WindowsXP there is a DeveloperSuite 10g PreView -
    what does that mean? when will the final version be released?
    My experiences are:
    - if you are integrating a 10g Report with a parameter form in forms10g: first it does not work - you have to integrate a javabean in forms (encrypted userid in cookie
    before calling the report) or the other solution i read was funny with nearly no security (userid in hex in the url).
    how can u call a 10g report from the web without writing all your credentials in cgicmd.dat and without having oid (single sign on)?
    a solution would be writing your credentials encrypted in a cookie and then calling the report with the parameter form -
    but how? if you have never done java before?
    - handling with formbuilder10g is much more slower than formbuilder6i: is forms10g written in java?
    - you have to do a lot of configuration before calling a report on your development pc.
    thx for any comments and tips
    ps:
    shall i use webforms10g now or learn java/jdeveloper or wait for java.net (=cooperation Microsoft and Sun)? <

    Hello Frank,
    Thank you for your 9i/10i secure calls to web.show_document solution. I spend hours with it but could'nt get it working. I followed all the instructions from the pdf document. Everything looks fine ( java console output included ) but the cookie isn't created.
    I watched the tcp packet for the http header to see if any cookie information was included, but this isn't the case. I switched browsers (IE5 and IE6) and changed their security settings to very low. Nothing seems to matter. Still getting the REP-51018: Need database user authentication error. What am I doing wrong???
    I'm running 9.0.4 (10g) forms reports services edition on Windows 2000.

    we are using dynamic java versioning for the JRE, the following is also from my formsweb.cfg configuration file. Please note, it is set to 1.5 and higher, so if you have 1.6_13 JRE on the clients, the following will still work. There is a recent whitepaper on OTN dated January 2009 (Oracle 10gR2 Forms Services - Using Sun's Java Plug-in), which also provides detailed information on using Sun JRE.
    # Parameter related to the version of the Java Plugin
    # The following is for statically defining the jre version, the second line
    # is for dynamically defining it (1.5 or higher). Given JTLS is configured
    # to work 1.5 or higher, we will use the dynamic one. But currently our application
    # uses JRE 1.5_05, so higher is recommended. Zafer, R&A 21 Oct 2005
    # jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0004-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    # We are using the dynamic setting instead of static for JTLS
    jpi_classid=clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93
    # Parameter related to the version of the Java Plugin
    # If they dont have the related JRE, download the latest one
    # Parameter related to the version of the Java Pluginl-1_5_0_05-windows-i586.cab
    # If you want a specific version then it should be set like below
    # jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.5.0_05
    # If you want to set a minimum version (this version or higher), then it
    # should be set like below (this is the default for our application)
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;version=1.5
    Hope this proves useful.

  • App Server 10g2 - PDF Reports called from Forms go to a background window

    Hi all
    We have Application Server 10g2 in use, mainly for legacy forms and reports. We also have the Secure Java Web.Show_Document bean (frmrwinteg.jar) installed. Since the application of the October 2008 CPU when a form calls a PDF report, it will pop in the background and leave the Internet Explorer window with the form at the front. We have not changed any configuration settings which could affect this.
    Is there a way to go back to the old behaviour, that of having the report appear in the foreground instead of behind internet explorer? We'd appreciate any tips on this. Thanks.

    Well I am not sure if this is the original question. Here is what SebastienL mentioned originally:
    Is there a way to go back to the old behaviour, that of having the report appear in the foreground instead of behind internet explorer?He also mentioned this:
    Before, the PDF window would open in front of IE, like any new window should. Now it opens in the background and IE stays in front.And it seems to be happening not just for him but for all users (on multiple client machines) as he mentioned this:
    This occured overnight after a CPU patch to everyone who uses the system.If I am interpreting it correctly (and I don't claim to be correct in my interpretation), the issue is not about having to open PDF in the same IE window as the Forms. I am guessing SebastienL is looking to have PDF document appear in foreground (on top of Forms IE window) vs. it showing up in background (behind the Forms IE window).
    Did I get it right SebastienL?
    It does sound very much client configuration issue but I doubt (if my above assumptions are correct). Let me dig around and see if I can find something.
    Thanks
    Shail

  • Forms Graph demo and upgrade to 10.1.2.3

    Metalink articles 579047.1 (timeout.jar), 564522.1 (frmrwinteg.jar) and 559213.1 (getApplet) discuss problems due to the 10.1.2.3 patchset and OTN sample code. We also are implementing a solution that uses FormsGraph.jar. I would like to know if that sample code is sensitive to the changes made in 10.1.2.3 OAS.

    Hello,
    In fact, every bean that uses the handler.getApplet(); method won't run with the last patch, so open the source file, then search for this text.

  • OLE2 from Forms 10g to Microsoft Word 2007 Mail Merge

    We have an Oracle Form that allows the user to print off information on the Form to a Microsoft Word document via OLE2 and mail merging; Forms version is 10.1.2.0.2 as it the version of OAS (from Linux Redhat AS4). This currently works fine if the user has Microsoft Word 2000, but since a recent upgrade to Office 2003 and now in some cases 2007, this functionality doesn't work. The JInitiator Console displays the following error messages:

    Some questions:
    Which version of office were you using before? 2003?
    Are the data files on a network, or on your local machine? If they are on a network, can you make a copy of one of them on your local machine and try again?
    Can you open the files directly in Excel? What extension do they have (.xls, or something else?) I am wondering whether access to other file types has been left blocked on your machine but is allowed on your colleague's machine.
    Are you just opening the mail merge main document and seeing this message? If so, do you see the same thing if you start with a new document and try to connect to one of these data sources?
    Can you confirm that the message is about Access even though you are trying to connect to an Excel file?
    (Also, office 2007 has some new stuff - that let's you specify that certain folders are "trusted" . I don't think that ever affected MailMerge but it may be as well to make sure that your documents and data sources are in trusted locations).
    Also worth trying to start Word in "Safe mode" - see, e.g. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/work-with-office-safe-modes-HP010140792.aspx

  • OAS v10.1.2.3 REP-51018: Need database user authentication

    Hi all,
    I have an Forms/Reports 10g application, and when I call a report, I always get the "REP-51018: Need database user authentication" when using IE8.   It works fine with version 19, 20 and 21 of Firefox.   As IE8 is the corporate browser, calling reports need to work within IE8.
    First, some pertinent information:
    Server:
    - Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with SP2
    - OAS v10.1.2.0.2 upgraded to v10.1.2.3
               => Of note, reports did work with JInitiator on v10.1.2.0.2, but for several reasons, we need to move to v10.1.2.3 and use JPI.
    - Server is a VM created by VMWare.
    Client:
    - Windows XP Pro v2002 with SP3 (moving to Windows 7 soon)
    - IE8
    - Firefox (for developers)
    I have applied several ideas from several threads within this forums and documentation from other sites (Oracle being one of them), but to no avail. Here is a list of a couple of them that were pertinent to my problem:
    need java been frmrwinteg.jar (especially the sections from Francois Degrelle and Steve Cosner)
    10.1.2.3 problem with frmrwinteg.jar
    Upgrade to patchset 3 10.1.2.3 from 10.1.2.0.2 causes Java errors (I have used this thread to fix the Java issues that I had initially)

    It is getting very frustrating!  I have performed this same upgrade, on different platforms, between 10 and 12 times with no issues what-so-ever!  The strange part is that, for this upgrade (that I'm having difficulties with), I needed to sign the frmwebutil.jar and frmrwinteg.jar files; I never needed to do this for the other upgrades, except for the jacob.jar file, of course!
    From the formsweb.cfg file, here is the configuration area that I'm using:
    [VailWUStd]
    width=950
    height=650
    IE=native
    HTMLbeforeForm=<SCRIPT>window.onbeforeunload = unloadMess; function unloadMess() {mess = "Clicking 'ok' will terminate all Vailtech applications!"; return mess;}</SCRIPT>

    And from the Java Console, here is the section related to the FRMREPORTSINTEG bean:

    FrmReportsInteg1: Second period found at 6
    FrmReportsInteg1: Cookie domain now is: city.a.ottawa.ca
    As you can see, everything looks fine!  (well, I think it is!!)   I'm just out of ideas!   I even re-installed OAS v10.1.2.0.2 and applied the v10.1.2.3 upgrade, TWICE, but again, to no avail!!
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thx!
    Cheers,
    Steph
