FRUSTRATION WITH YOUR LATEST VERSION OF PAGES
Can anyone explain to me why that had to ruin pages and numbers???? I cannot get anything done, it was so simple before, there are some of us who are not wizards. I also waste so much fricken time waiting for that colored wheel to quit spinning. Can you put an e-manual out there so we can try to navigate these programs? Your help on the menu is absolutely useless. I am ready to go back to a PC. I want Lion back. I want the old pages back. I feel absolutely stupid and waste so much time.

If you previously had iWork '09, those apps are still in your Applications folder in a folder named iWork '09. You can continue to use them to get things done.
There were 100+ features that didn't make it into the "new & improved, rewritten from the ground up” Pages 5. Some have returned with the updates & there are some new features that are worthwhile, but there are still 90+ features missing. We are all just end-users like yourself here. To have Apple "hear" you you need to leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu and review & rate the new versions in the Mac App Store.

My biometric reader won't work with your latest version, how do i go back?
I spent £1000 on a laptop with a biometric reader as continually inputting passwords shall we say irks me. It was fine and dandy up until your latest version...30. Now it doesn't work at all, instead all i have is YOUR option to save passwords.....i don't want that, i want my laptop to save them in a secure file, you know, like my fingerprint reader. Frankly in the last 18 months i have come to rely on it, as i don't even remember most of the passwords i have saved, so you have managed to lock me out of several places, like my damned car insurance file....thanks.
Please just send me a link to re-install version 29 so i can access my things again, don't make it hard, just a simple click and go link, not the nonsense on your site with 15 odd options, we're not all savvy with computers and i don't want to be made to scratch my head and have to guess at what i want.
In case it matters, it is the HP SimplePass biometric reader i have, powered by Authentec apparently.

I have to work with a lot of company web sites that are slow to adopt new browser features and expectations. The end result is that when Firefox updates my browser automatically, I frequently find myself broken, and in some cases, simply denied access, for having an "unsupported" browser or browser version. I would like to be able to open a previous version of Firefox, so that I can access that web site. But it appears that when you update, you remove/replace the previous version(s), and I am forced to use another browser.

Frustrated with the latest version of Aperture, going back to Lightroom....
Yesterday I wanted to dig into my library to pull some images of my kids for a calendar. I have 2010 images inside the library, while previous years reside on another HD in my Mac Pro. I became increasingly frustrated as I had to wait for Aperture to generate previews for the external images. With thousands of images it takes much too long.
Any ideas to prevent Aperture from having to do this each time I open the program? I really do not want to add all of these images into the current library, it would end up being nearly 500GB in size.Pressing and holding the 'Shift' key when launching Aperture should tell it not to generate previews (hold until fully loaded).
You can then go to 'Aperture menu > Preferences' and in the General section deselect the 'New projects automatically generate previews'.
Close the preferences dialog and then relaunch Aperture normally and you should be good.
Note - if for some reason you want to remove all previews you can select 'Photos' in the library inspector > select all images > Photos menu > Delete Previews command.
You can create new previews manually anytime by selecting an image (or multiple) > Photos menu > mouse-over 'Update Previews' while holding down the 'Option' key (which will turn the menu item to 'Generate Previews'). -
First time user. Need help. I downloaded latest version of Pages 5.0 and have been using it. Now, when I try to open documents created by it, I'm advised that I have to downoad Pages 5.0. What's going on?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 110 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

You can add the icon of the missing Pages on your Dock or open Pages from the Apple menu > Recent Items list.
Or you can archive Pages 5 so that it doesn't automatically open.
If you are unhappy about this review/rate Pages 5 in the App Store.

Hello there i am using the latest version of pages on ipad3 but when I imported a word doument with some figures ( mainly pictures, X-rays, CT scans, and ECG ) I could not find them they all vanishes although the text was perfectly displayed . Can anyone help.

no where it mentionned the manifest.fm file is... INSIDE the .jar!
Your comment "a zip" made me attempt to open it with winrar, and I found a manifest.fm file inside!
So far I was editing the one at the "source" of my project and rebuilding it with netbeans.
I am going to try that now.

With the latest version of itunes, are you able to search your library by purchase date? My prior itunes software had Name, Time, Artist, Album, Genre, Rating, Plays and Purchased. With Version 11.0.3 of itunes, 'Purchased' is not a tabbed option to sort. Can this be added?

Great question, we simply need to check "Purchased Date" from the View Options menu.
In iTunes 11, click the "View" menu and choose "Show View Options". Located under "Stats" is the "Purchase Date" option.

Whenever I go to the "Cellular" settings on the main settings page and turn OFF cellular data usage for native apps like mail, app store, contacts, photos etc , the moment I back out and come back in, all the native apps I turned cellular off for are back on again. Kindly help me
Exact same question as ankit1986, specifically with the photos while on cellular-only, and as simple as it sounds, I tried the hard reboot Ingo2711 suggested. Still experiencing the same error with the native apps reverting to on. It's killing our shared data-plan (2GB).

Hi there, I have a 2009 Macbook - running on OS X V.10.6.8... but I'm looking at upgrading the Operating System to V.10.10. Will your latest version of LIghtroom (the one I can currently get a free one month trial of from your site) work with Apple's latest operating system - Yosemite V.10.10? Or will LR only work with V.10.7, 10.8 or 10.9?
Thanks, SeamusHey, problem solved. One of the drives was faulty. I erased the 2nd drive (which was showing up as the degraded raid slice), deleted the RAID set and restored the 2nd drive from a back-up disk image. After that, when I booted using 'option' I was presented with two boot disks but only one that worked. And when it did boot up only the reformatted disk was showing in Diskutil so I'm guessing the second one is knackered. With it still in place the server still wouldn't boot up from a full shutdown, but the moment it was removed it booted up no probs. Wakes up from sleep as well so it seems sorted.
So now just need to decide whether I'll bother with replacing the second drive or just use an external back-up. I have just bought a 1TB drive to back up to so will probably just go with that.
Btw, is there anyway I can test the drive I removed to see if can be saved?

Has the latest version of Pages lost graphic design features?
Since downloading the latest version of Pages on my Mac, I have become rather frustrated with the lack of design/layout capabilities.
The previous version of Pages gave the option of design and word processing. Now, if I wish to design on a blank page, my graphics are
limited, the text wrap is a pain, and I don't feel that there's the freedom I once had to manipulate graphics and text together.
Has anyone else experienced this frustration? Is there a tutorial that I can watch to bring me up to date?I do most of my work on my Mac, but occasionally would use an iPad to show someone a document. I no longer open any important documents with my iPad because once I do, the document is converted to the new file format for Pages 5.0 and the file is messed up. For example, linked text boxes are no longer linked. Even if I then export the file back to Pages 09, the text boxes are no longer link-able. The little link buttons are gone from the text box. The only way to get the link feature back is by inserting a new text box and then copying and pasting to the new box. Frustrating to say the least!

It sounds like you you have the old www.google.com/firefox/ start page that used to be the default homepage in Firefox before Firefox 4.0 sometime. It is not being maintained by Google anymore so either ignore the message or while in Firefox go to Tools->Options->General->Homepage section and change your homepage. -
Synching iPod Touch with iTunes latest versions messes up e-mail progams on the Touch; help
Twice now in the past week I have synched my 64GB latest model iPod Touch with the latest version of iTunes and it has completely messed up my e-mail programs on the Touch; I cannot get or send e-mails. I have to delete the e-mail accounts and then add them back in so that I can receive and send e-mails. What has caused this and how can I eliminate this from happening in the future when I sync? Thank you for your help.
carolYes, I find it strange, too but it has happened both times I have synched the Touch in the past week. iTunes was updated right before the first time this happened. I have Verizon for my e-mail and it would not work on the Touch but I was able to send and receive emails on my desk top. It is frustrating to say the least to spend time deleting and then adding the e-mail accounts to the Touch.

In the latest version of Pages (5.0) I cannot find the refresh button to update a chart copied from Numbers (also latest version 3.0). I saved my Numbers document before copying to Pages. Can anyone help?
I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.

Why does my Ipod touch 5th generation 32GB have problems syncing with the latest version of itunes?
lately My ipod touch, 5th generastion 32gb has difficulty whenever i try to sync it with tht latest version of iTunes. When i go to sync it immediately claims that over 10gb has dissipated into this "Other" section. to fix that i have to do a factory reset, however after the reset has finished and while i am trying to re-sync my music on to my device the sync gets stopped toward the end saying "Waiting for changes to be applied" for hours on end. even then it does not sync. So currently i am unable to use the ipod tough for what it was built as in the first place, a music player. currently i am ratherdissapointed and i would like to find some answers to this problem because this problem is extremely irritating and it has kept me from using the ipod for what i mainly use it for in the first place, music. Ever scince the latest version of iTunes, where the icon became red, i have bee having this major problem. I suggest you work to find an answer to this Problem and fix it ASAP so i can get back to enjoying my portable music player.
