Function Codes Automatically Recognised by ABAP

Hi,
I am studying Interactive Report these days, and found that there are some function codes automatically recognised by ABAP, for instance, function code BACK which associated with function key F3 has the functionality of BACK, and function code RW which associated with F12 has the functionality of CANCEL.
The material that I looked through gives 7 function codes, are there just 7 function codes that could automatically recognised by ABAP? If the answer is no, is there an official list that show all the function codes?
Thanks a lot.
Best Regards!
Stephanie HE

Hi,
Welcome to SDN,
To my knowledge there are no list of function codes execpt standard menu bar function codes...
So if you like to know the function code in any SAP Screen then you just enter '/h' in the command text box and the press enter so that debugging is switched on.
Now press any icon or any key so that it will take you into debugging.... in the debugging screen enter SY-UCOMM in the text box and press enter so that you can capture the function code of that particular button.
This process do help during interface program ( BDC PROGRAM and also INTERACTIVE LIST PROGRAMMING to check with User defined push buttons )
Hope this would be helpful.
Revert back if any suggestions or clarifications needed.

  • What is a function Code?

Can anybody tell me What is a Function Code while creating Application tool bar  with SET PF-STATUS?
How many function codes are there?
    What are they?
if I want to associate a new functionality with a new ICON....can I add custom fuction code or there are only SAP function codes available.....?

    Hi
Function code is the CODE assigned to a particular through which the SAP recognises its action.
It is something like OK code or Sy-UCOMM.
see the doc of OK CODE
In your ABAP programs, you should work with the OK_CODE field instead of SY-UCOMM. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the ABAP program has full control over fields declared within it, and secondly, you should never change the value of an ABAP system field. However, you should also always initialize the OK_CODE field in an ABAP program for the following reason:
In the same way that the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program and the system field SY-UCOMM receive the contents of the corresponding screen fields in the PAI event, their contents are also assigned to the OK_CODE screen field and system field SYST-UCOMM in the PBO event. Therefore, you must clear the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program to ensure that the function code of a screen is not already filled in the PBO event with an unwanted value. This is particularly important when the next PAI event can be triggered with an empty function code (for example, using ENTER). Empty function codes do not affect SY-UCOMM or the OK_CODE field, and consequently, the old field contents are transported.
In your application programs, the first step in PAI processing should be to save the function code in an auxiliary variable and then initialize the OK_CODE field. You can then read the function code from the auxiliary variable (for example, using a CASE structure), and control the program flow from there.
The OK_CODE field can have a different name on each screen. However, common practice is to use the same name for the field on each screen of an ABAP program. You then only need one field in the ABAP program, with the same name, into which the function code is placed, and from which you can read it.

  • Function Code can not be selected

    Dear expert,
Please help me, there is a uploader For MIGO, USer is uploading data using this uploader, Sometimes when user try to upload data, he gets a message on status BAR:
Function cannot be selected, When i Double Click on that Message i Get Following Information:
    Message NO: 00255
    Diagnosis
You entered an Inactive function code
    You can trigger this by:
inputting directly in the OK code field
inputting the fastpath of an inactive menu function
choosing an inactice function key, or even by
choosing enter, if enter has an inactive function
In batch input a function code is included in field BDC_OKCODE of the session, as long as this function Code is not assigned to Enter
As well as activating function codes stastically in the menu painter(Transaction SE41), they can also be deactivated dynamically using the excluding addition with PF-STATUS.
Now one more thing i want to tell you is when user just open MIGO directly and try to enter some data and get back before saving and then Execute uploader then user can upload data without any error,
Kindly tell me what shoul i do to remove this error permanently
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Shelly Malik

There is an error in this uploader, it should not call this command which is not available on that screen. What is this uploader? If it's a custom abap program, you must debug it.

  • How to get the partner function code by partner function?

For example, I need to know the partner function code for 'Reported By' and it's 'SLFN0002', How can I get this information by abap code?
    Best regards,

    Hey Blake,
You can look up CRMC_PARTNER_FT( Db table ) which is used in the above  maintainance view...
Use select stmt to populate an internal table.. then use Read Table( which key DESCRIPTION = < Sold to party > and so on...
Just Get an Abaper and things would be easy..

  • Error ! No field defined for function Code in MENU EXIT

    Hello All,
I've created a project in CMOD for the MENU EXIT for handling one menu item in the SAP Standard Menu Bar .
i.e  under the HELP MENU Item I've included one more sub menu item.
I've activated the project and I'm able to se the newly added Sub-Menu Item in the activated mode.
But when I press the newly created Sub Menu Item I'm getting a Message in the Status Bar saying :
No field defined for the function code
The Help of it says :
    Message no. 00125
    Diagnosis
The function code field (OK code field) has not been defined on this screen. If the user selects an application function (not a system function), the system usually provides it in the function code field (OK code field) as well as in SY-UCOMM. This is no longer possible.
    System Response
The system is unable to inform the application of the current function code. The application should not use field SY_COMM. This field always contains the code of the last function chosen, which is not always identical to the application-relevant code.
    Procedure
You should always define a field for the function code on every screen. The Screen Painter always proposes such a field (OK category), you only need to assign a name and include the definition in the ABAP program.
Please let me know what shud be done ?

    Deepu.K

Don't use this scanrio ! Instead got Access Key and chamged the Std. Program.

  • Pf status and function codes

    Hi,
I have a report where in i have to add a new icon with a tick symbol along with the existing execute icon ie f8.I have copied the status of the program into another before adding the new icon and to that i have added the new icon and function code.
i have used set pf-status in the initialisation event. Now when i give the select options and press f8 it enters into the program but sy-ucomm is still empty and does not do the desired functionality. If i click the icon for test run it does not enter the program itself. Can anyone help me out on this.
The status is activated in se41.
    Points will be rewarded.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Sowmya.

    hi,
just try like that used in the report: demo_list_at_user_command
    like:
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      WRITE: 'Basic List',
           / 'SY-LSIND:', sy-lsind.
    TOP-OF-PAGE.
      WRITE 'Top-of-Page'.
      ULINE.
    TOP-OF-PAGE DURING LINE-SELECTION.
      CASE sy-pfkey.
        WHEN 'TEST'.
WRITE 'Self-defined GUI for Function Codes'.
          ULINE.
      ENDCASE.
    AT LINE-SELECTION.
      SET PF-STATUS 'TEST' EXCLUDING 'PICK'.
      PERFORM out.
      sy-lsind = sy-lsind - 1.
    AT USER-COMMAND.
      CASE sy-ucomm.
        WHEN 'FC1'.
          PERFORM out.
WRITE / 'Button FUN 1 was pressed'.
        WHEN 'FC2'.
          PERFORM out.
WRITE / 'Button FUN 2 was pressed'.
        WHEN 'FC3'.
          PERFORM out.
WRITE / 'Button FUN 3 was pressed'.
        WHEN 'FC4'.
          PERFORM out.
WRITE / 'Button FUN 4 was pressed'.
        WHEN 'FC5'.
          PERFORM out.
WRITE / 'Button FUN 5 was pressed'.
      ENDCASE.
      sy-lsind = sy-lsind - 1.
    FORM out.
      WRITE: 'Secondary List',
           / 'SY-LSIND:', sy-lsind,
           / 'SY-PFKEY:', sy-pfkey.
    ENDFORM.
When you run the program, the system displays the following basic list with a the page header defined in the program:
You can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by double-clicking a line. The system sets the status TEST and deactivates the function code PICK. The status TEST contains function codes FC1 to FC5. These are assigned to pushbuttons in the application toolbar. The page header of the detail list depends on the status.
Here, double-clicking a line no longer triggers an event. However, there is now an application toolbar containing five user-defined pushbuttons. You can use these to trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event. The CASE statement contains a different reaction for each pushbutton.
For each interactive event, the system decreases the SY-LSIND system field by one, thus canceling out the automatic increase. All detail lists now have the same level as the basic list and thus overwrite it. While the detail list is being created, SY-LSIND still has the value 1.

  • Function code for execute button

    Hi,
I have a requirement like this...
there is a program for selective deletion from a data target by a transaction called delete_facts.
this generates a program for selective deletion. when i run this report there comes one screen asks for selections fields and then again excute it then deletion will happen.
But this program i need to modify for certain default values so as to avoid entering of the values in the selection screen.
i will use default value this will solve my 1st purpose but since this program has to be scheduled from process chain, the 2nd execute funtionality( once the values appear in the screen) shud be automated.
can anybody tell me how to do this that is after program runs values will be passed to selection screen and selection screen shud not be shown and execute shud happen automatically.

  • RFC function Short dump - Function code SPBT_INITIALIZE

    Hi ALL,

  • What is the function code for execute

    Hi,
What is the function code for execute.
I am using set pf-status under initialization.
    Thanks.
    Sai.

    Hi,
If your adding a execute in pf-status then we can give the function code for execute as 'EXEC' - F8.
Nyways it automatically comes no need to explicitly add in pf-status. The standard function code is 'ONLI'
just we need to check the sy-ucomm value and perform what you want.
    i.e if sy-ucomm = 'EXEC'.
    endif.
    hope this help you.
    plz reward if useful.
    thanks,
    dhanashri.

  • Generating BP Codes Automatically.......

    Hi Experts,
My Client want to generate his bp codes automatically......
                          C10000, C10001, C10002, C10003..................... like this....
Can anyone pls give the solution....

In order to create consecutive alphanumeric business partner codes, such as C1000, C1001 etc, please follow the procedure outlined below:
    1. Manually create the first customer, supplier and lead type business partners, e.g. C1000, S5000, L8000.
    2. Go to Reports -> Query Generator -> Click on 'Execute' without making any selection.
    3. In the 'Queries' window click on the pencil icon in the upper left area to activate the query structure area. The area appears grey when blocked, white when ready and yellow when active.
    4. Copy and paste the query from below or the attached text file (BPcode_autocreate.txt) into the window, replacing the 'SELECT *' that is present by default:
    select max(cardtype)
    + cast(substring( max(cardcode), 2, len(max(cardcode)))
    + 1 as nvarchar(10)) from ocrd
    where cardtype = $[OCRD.CARDTYPE]
    1. Click on the button 'Save',then, in the 'Save Query' window, enter an appropriate name for the query and select the appropriate category. Then click on 'Save'.
    2. Click on 'Cancel' in the window 'Queries' and 'Close' in the window 'Query Generator'.
    3. Go to Business Partners -> Business Partner Master Data, change to 'Add' mode.
    4. Map a formatted search to this field by either of the following means:
    1. Clicking in the field 'Code' to activate it, then select 'Tools' in the strip menu, select 'Search Function', then 'Define'.
    2. Pressing CtrlAltF2 in the active field.
    5. In the 'Define Formatted Search' window, click on the button for 'Search by Saved Query'
    6. Bring the cursor to the bar that will pop up just below 'Search by Saved Query' until it changes from an arrow to a pointing hand, then double-click.
    7. The 'Query Manager' window will pop up, select the category where the query above was saved under, then click on the query name to select it, click on 'OK'.
    8. Place a tick in the box for 'Auto Refresh When Field Changes' and select 'BP Name' from the drop down menu.
    9. Click on 'Cancel' in the Business Partner Master Data window and open it up again.
    10. Click on 'Refresh Regularly' and click on 'Save'.
    11. Change to 'Add' mode, select the 'Type' (Customer, Supplier, Lead) and enter a name for the new business partner. Press the 'Tab' key and the next available BP code will automatically be inserted into the BP code field.

  • OnDisconnect function called automatically at any time.

onDisconnect function called automatically at any time on script side. Any body have any idea why it's getting called at random time. Please tell us how to handle this situation.

In your client side script in onStatus handler of netconnection when you get status as NetConnection.Connect.Closed then create new netconnection object and relate all client functions to this new object like nc.client.doThis = doThis where doThis are functions on nc object.
    Something like this :
    if(info.code=="NetConnection.Connect.Closed"){
      nc = new NetConnection();
      if(nc){
       trace("Reconnect");
       nc.connect("rtmp://a.b.c.d/app");
      else{
       trace("Error:NetConnection not initilized");

  • All Icons and their function codes

    Hi all!
How can we find all the available icons and their related function codes? I have watched PRINT icon having different function codes in different ALV reports.
Edited by: Jayasri P. on Jan 7, 2008 12:44 PM

    Hello.
In order to use them in the GUI status of your ALV do the following:
go copy the status "STANDARD_FULLSCREEN" of the program "SPLKKBL" to your program and change it.
If you go to your own status now, under "Application Toolbar", you can define there your own function codes and use them in your code. As far as the icon is concerned, when you will first set the function code, the system will pop-up a screen in which you can define the icon you want to assign to that function code. You just have to do an F4 on the respective field of the pop-up and a new pop-up will show you all the available standard icons of the system that are available for use in your own GUI status. There, the name of each icon (for example, ICON_OKAY, or ICON_CANCEL etc) can be used to display icons in standard ABAP lists. In this case you have to add in your report the following line
    TYPE-POOLS: ICON.
and then write something like this:
    write:/ icon_okay as icon.
    Reward please if it help.

    George

  • Unwanted PAI function code

    Hi experts,
I got a dynpro with a Input/output field on it which is set to output field only. There is also one button in the application toolbar with a function code "TEST".
When I double click the output field now, PAI is thrown and the function code is filled with 'TEST'. How can I avoid that?
The output field shouldn't be double clickable at all or at least throw a PAI with an empty function code.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tobi

    Hello,
When you created the TEST button on the application toolbar you probably have assigned the function key F2 to it. This automatically picks the double click action.
Delete the PF status and recreate it with a different function key assigned to the button (TEST) on the toolbar..
    Regards,
    Sachin
