Unless it's HTTPS, or running on a port other than 80... ;-)

provide a more helpful answer. However there are two
additional CGI
variables which get set to (something) if the request was
made via HTTPS.
To deal with the port, there is CGI.SERVER_PORT. If it's
other than 80 (or
443 if HTTPS), the one should include a colon and the port
number after the
HTTP_HOST value.

I'm not 100% clear on what the requirement is from the description, however it does sound like you are making things unnecessarily complicated.
If you want permanent/ID-independent links then use application and page aliases.
so here we used to display the url like this: <tt>{noformat}http://81.131.254.171:8080/apex/f?p=122{noformat}</tt>
Do you mean that the URL is displayed like that? If so that doesn't seem particularly helpful. How is anyone supposed to know what it is?
There are many ways to provide links in APEX—including lists and nav bars.
Where the link is to another resource located on the same server (such as another page in the same app, or a different app in the workspace), relative addressing can be used, making it unecessary to include scheme, domain and port information in the URL. For example, if the page to be linked to has a page alias <tt>ABOUT</tt> in an application with alias <tt>UNITY</tt>, and the apps share an authentication scheme/cookie to permit shared sessions, then the link URL is simply
f?p=UNITY:ABOUT:&APP_SESSION.

I reckon that you might be right.
But as side note, maybe Adobe will lose me and others as contributers for her PDF oriented solutions for other formats.
In the long run experts can tell which approach is better: a .Net like approach (no limitations upon development issues for ) or this kind of an approach.

I am not java expert, can anyone give me user defined function for getting last string in the line.
for example if the source field is "NEW ARBOUR SQUARE" i want to pass to target field only last string that is "SQUARE"

You don't even need a UDF for this. In the graphical editor look for the standard functions and once you do a scroll over on 'text functions; you will find what you are looking for.
Just a piece of advice, try keeping UDF's to minimum unless really required or it is complicated without it.

Function for getting password with *** from the cmd?

i am trying to find a function to get a password from the user using the command prompt in a hidden way... e.g. i want the function to take the password from the user but simultaneously apear * on the screen..?
is any function doing that ?

Java SE 6 has a new class Console that does not echo password input. It does not print *, it prints nothing, which is tradition of console app.

How do I open a new window (cmd + N) on the current page (url) NOT my homepage?

Before I updated to firefox 28, I was able to hit cmd + N and it would open a new window with the exact same webpage I was on. Now it opens a new window with my homepage. I'm assuming I had an add-on or extension, but I am desperate to be able to do this again. Ideas?

This is an oversight by the developers of the latest FireFox revision: a great shame, as the overall feel of the browser has patently been improved.
Xabolcs has come up with a nice fudging idea; if it were to work; but sadly it doesn't for me....
As mentioned by MGprof, the latest version of FireFox (May'14) now opens one's "homepage" instead of a new blank window.
As my "homepage" is almost a dozen tabs; this is worse than useless. It's like starting FireFox again; and then having to close a whole string of unwanted tabs!
To compound my frustration, the "move to a new window" option disappeared on another recent FireFox "upgrade"; but I managed to get round that by copying an url from a tab, then opening a new blank window, to paste the url into.
So, is there any possible way to open a new window in this latest version of FireFox?
I just want to be able to open a new FireFox window; and I'd be happy with it being either blank, or duplicating the url of a currently-showing tab.
This would allow view of one trimmed-size webpage in front of another one, showing in a selected tab in my normal-use multi-tab window: useful when comparing complex images, for example.
I have just installed the above-recommended "duplicate-2-window"; but can't make it work for me.
I've assumed "no-restart-necessary" claim is correct; but using cntrl+N, I now get a new blank TAB!
I'll try rebooting next, and post here again if that improves the situation; but don't hold your breath!
Meanwhile, if the developers are watching out for feedback..................................... please sort this, by putting back the "open a new window" option: I do NOT want to have to use Gugl-Krohm!

Firefox not displaying current page URL in address book.

Firefox is now showing the URL data for the most recently opened tab in every address bar rather than the actual data for the page opened within that tab. For example, tab 1 is opened to wsj.com and tab two is the opened for foxnews.com, suddenly the address bar for tab 1 is now showing foxnews.com in the address bar AND it is now impossible to go 'back' because the back button is greyed out. Additionally, if a link is clicked from within the current tab, the URL in the address bar does not change but remains 'fixed' on the address opened in the most recently opened tab.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

What is function I get the current subform?

Is there some function that return with the name of the subform current?
I tryed to find on the Help of LiveCycle, but I didn't find. I find out just currentPage, but it returns just the position of the page.

The script "this.parent.name" has the following components:
this = refers to the object that the script is in.
parent = refers to the container that the object is inside
name = the name of the specified object, in this case the container that the object is in.
Now you can extend this up the hierarchy until you get to the container that you want the name of. You can do this by adding more "parent" to the script, the number of parents will depend on how far up the hierarchy you need to go. This should get you closer:
this.parent.parent.name;

How to get the current web url in __redirect in custom new form?

I have created one custom new form of a list in which I want to redirect the user to other page after saving item.
I have placed <input> button to save the item and set the
__redirect attribute to my custom page in Pages library. My site url is like,

My HTML code in CustomNewForm.aspx is:

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to redirect to a customized page in the specific "web" site when you click a save button in you customized new form.
I recommend that you can use the relative URL of the customized page in this site named "web" like “/site/web/Pages/Test.aspx” to implement it.
In my environment, I do this test and the result is that it works well.

I know how kna1 and adrc is connected,
I'm just wondering if there might be a function module which gets the adress of a "kna1" automatically??
any Ideas?

FYI -
ADDR_GET_COMPLETE will give you the address for a customer stored in ADRC table which holds complete address.
BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETDETAIL2 - would give you the address from KNA1 which might have truncated data.
To verify, check the length of address fields in KNA1 and ADRC

I have a business rule which is used to calculate the budget of current month. Right now, I set the current month as a variable, which will need to be changed every month, I know it's stupid, I am new to this area, so I am thinking is there any better way to do this?

What method do i use to store the url of the page that the applet is being viewed?
The reason i need this is because my applet would produce a different output if the url was http://dimg.biz/1.php as opposed to http://dimg.biz/2.php.

getDocumentBase(). It's a method of Applet.
It's right there in the API docs.
