Gateway failed error when users are trying to loginto the portal
Hi,
when the users are trying to log into the portal, the following error msg is displaying. most of the users are facing this problem
"Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=abcxyz144 GROUP=GP1 R3NAME=GP1 MSSERV=sapmsGP1 PCS=1 LOCATION"
is the problem from r/3 system or from portal? if it is from portal, what settings have to be done & if it is r/3 what have to be checked for the particular user to avoid such error message
reply soon as this is very urgent issue.
regards
vv
this is likely to be missing entries in your services file on the portal server.
I would expect to see
sapmsGP1 36xx
or similar. You might also want to make sure that you portal server can resolve the DNS name of your R/3 system. ping abcxyz144 from the portal node to make sure.

Error when registring Provider after finished install the portal.
Error when registring Provider after finished install the portal.
Hi.. we are using Oracle9iAS 9.0.2.0.1, Sun Solaris 8.
Our problem is, after we finished installed the iAS, then open the Portal, and we tried to register a provider, we get these errors:
"You are not authorized to view this page"
"This component ID: 1068970504 has no existing versions - you need to create one first (WWV-01808)"
"Error : Failed to service the client. No further information available"
"Error: The XML parser encountered an Error, and could not complete the conversion for portlet id=6,343, it returned the following message: XML Parsing Error "
can anybody help?...Should we, after the installation, should install any patches?
Thanks.Hi
When you boot from the install disk, before you proceed through the install screens, first go to the Installers menu, and choose Disk Utility. If the internal drive appears, select it and click Repair Disk. See if you get errors, and if Disk Utility is able to correct those errors. If the drive does not appear, you may have serious drive issues which another drive utility (such as DiskWarrior) may be able to correct, but it may be severe enough to necessitate replacing the drive.
Since you've already tried Erase and Install, can I assume you have a backup of any files you need? If not, if you have access to another Mac, can you restart the G5 in Firewire mode (restart with the T key held down) and connect it using a Firewire cable to your other Mac. If the G5's drive appears on the other Mac's desktop, copy across any files you need.

sathyaHi Sathya
The following line in your log tells you what is wrong:
ORA-01654: unable to extend index SAPSR3DB.SYS_C004057 by 128 in tablespace PSAPSR3DB
This is a configuration that you or the dba people need to do. The first thing I would check is if autoextend is on/off on your tablespace PSAPSR3DB. If it's 'off' you either need to put it to 'on' or manually extend the size of your tablespace depending on how much harddrvive space you have to play with. Here is a more detailed solution on how to do it:
Oracle Error : ORA-01654: unable to extend index string.string by string in tablespace string
Cause: Failed to allocate an extent of the required number of blocks for an index segment in the tablespace indicated.
Action: Use ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE statement to add one or more files to the tablespace indicated.

500 Internal Server Error when I add struts portlet in the portal
I'm using jDeveloper 10g and have created a sample struts app which is working fine when using the regular struts-html.tld tags and struts-bean.tld tags .I'd like to get it working using the pdk-struts-html.tld taglib though so that I can deploy it as a portlet.
When I run the jsp page as follow:
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/pdk-struts-html.tld" prefix="pdk-struts-html"%>
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean"%>
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GBK"%>
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=GBK">
<title>untitled</title>
</head>
<body>
<pdk-struts-html:errors />
<pdk-struts-html:form action="/portal/SaveNewBlog.do">
<bean:message key="userid.prompt"/>
<pdk-struts-html:text property="userid" />
<bean:message key="password.prompt"/>
<pdk-struts-html:password property="password" />
<pdk-struts-html:submit />
</pdk-struts-html:form>
</body>
</html>
However, there are some thing wrong with it ,I don't know how to modify it :

"Connect to SAP gateway failed" error message when we connecting bex to bw
any one can help in connecting bex with BW.
we got a error when we are trying to connect bex to bw from offshore. as we do not have basis consultant we only need to connect bex with BW.
"Connect to SAP gateway failed".
RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION
But it is working properly connecting to onsite team.
this is the first time we are connecting from offshore.You didnt answer the first question of when exactly are you getting this error message - during direct logon to BEx or using transaction RRMX. Anyways, I assume both are giving the error.
Check how the SAP logon pad is configured to access the BW server currently.
In our case the problem was resolved by using the server machine name instead of the IP address to logon to the BW server.
If you are currently using the IP address in the logon pad then change it to the server machine name instead.
Also, make this entry in your hosts file (windows>system32>drivers>etc>hosts) add an entry like:
<IP Address> <bw_server_machine_name>
save the file, reboot the system and then try logging onto BEx again.
If it still does not work - send me screenshots of the logon pad configuration you have for the BW server.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Nikhil

How can we reset the active system status when we are trying to change
Hello SAP,
I am using the transaction code 'CJ20N' .
For this transaction code, I need to put one validation when user is trying to change the system status to 'TECO'.
Once, user changed the system status and trying to save , we need to put the previous system status.
For e.g. : system status is 'REL'. Now user set to 'TECO' and CLICK on save button, system status need to change 'REL'.
Could you please explain me that how can we delete the buffer system status 'TECO' and reset to active status 'TECO '.
Thanks and Regards
SriniYou can't delete an account, you can only stop using it. If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device. Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

I get a Short DST failed error when I ran a test. The laptop won't bootup. All I get is a black screen
Hi,
Certainly, the error code will be a Smart or Disk Self Test failure - in either case, it would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced. This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
One possible way to try and retrieve your files from a non-booting drive is to follow the process detailed in the link below. The Ubuntu operating system CD you create can run from the CD alone ( ie it doesn't have to install on the Hard Drive ) and I've often found it to be successful in retrieving data even from a failing Hard Drive. When you've created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can back up your existing files. -
'Stale data error' is encountered while trying to update the data using EO.
Hi,
I am getting the following error when I am trying to update the data using EO:
'' Unable to perform transaction on the record. \nCause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user. \nAction: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data."
I have tried clearing the corresponding VO cache and have also used the "getTransaction().setClearCacheOnCommit(true)" method in the AM, but the error persists.
Kindly suggest some work around for this problem.Chirag,
this error is usually.... thrown by framework, if some other user has updated the same record you are trying to update by your EO, just check db, and try for a different record!

Weird error when clicking on instance- flow from the console
When I have heavy volume coming in for the bpel server(ex: hundreds of instances generated at a time), I see the following weird error when I am trying to see the instance flow from console:
Process state off. The process class "BugBAM" (revision "v2004_12_20__61032" ) has not been turned on. No operations on the process or any instances belonging to the process may be performed if the process is off. Please consult your administrator if this process has been turned off inadvertently.
I didn't do anything to the process to turn the state off. What does this error message mean?
Thanks, JennyI am assuming that you are using 10.1.2 beta 1. Is that correct? I am wondering if in that version there is a switch that turns a process off when a new version of the process is deployed (this would be a bug because the active process should only be switched to retired).
Next time you get this error, could you please go to the BPEL Console and check the state of the BPEL process.
We will try to trace the error message in the source code and try to determine if there are other circumpstances which would generate the same error code.

Hi Trying to download CS5 Design Premium. We have a copy on the Mac and want to put a second copy on the Macbook pro. Can download the file but when it is clicked the file give an error message "User access denied" and dumps the download. So hence I do not get an installation screen or a chance to enter the Licence no.
Use another browser.

MSI Fail error when trying to unininstall VMWare Player 7.
I downloaded the trial version of VMWare Workstation 11. When I do the install it tries to uninstall VMWare Player 7. The uninstall fails with the cryptic error message 'MSI Fail.'
I've found various articles about this around the web and even tried a few 'solutions' to no avail. Is there a sure fire way to uninstall the Player so I can try the Workstation?I already found the link you posted and followed it but the player is still on my system so VMW still wants to uninstall it and I get the msi fail error. I also tried the manual removal and that didn't work. In fact I wound up breaking some non vmware stuff. Thank heaven for disk images.
Also, the article mentions the file VMware_Install_Cleaner.zip but I can't seem to find it. Is this something that might work to clear up the problem? Too bad I can't just reinstall the player but there is no option for that. I tried a repair but that was a no go too. Also tried deleting files from my Temp folder which some folks claim worked for them.
Also ran the MSI fixit program from MS and while it said it fixed some things about the Player I still couldn't install VMW. -

XML Boolean Operators in fsiuser
Hi All, We define BatchingByRecip batches in our fsiuser file, and we often write custom XPATH statements to use input data to send certain transactions to a certain recipient group. We've had good luck with very simple XPATH statements, such as: Bat
