Generate an XSD for a custom class based on ApplicationSpecific

Hi,
We get a failure when trying to use xsd.exe to generate an xsd for a class we have created. Generating from a dll containing only a stripped down test class still returns "Microsoft.Health.HealthRecordItemKey cannot be serialized because it does not
have a parameterless constructor." so it seems to be fundamental to the inheritance of ApplicationSpecific even though both our class and ApplicationSpecific do have parameterless constructors.
We have loads of dev experience, just not a lot in building complex HealthVault-based classes so the solution could be a "noob" error in this specific area.
Have you seen and overcome this problem?
Any guidance gratefully received.
Thanks.
P.S. We have read Eric G's posts on class construction so any responses that
only point us there won't be a lot of help.

Hi Dramacrat,
I am not familiar with the xsd.exe tool, so I can't help much with the why, but the what( the error being reported ) pretty much says it all.
The ApplicationSpecific class derives from HealthRecordItem which has a private member of type HealthRecordItemKey that, in fact does not define a parameterless constructor. If you have the SDK source could create a private build of the SDK, and modify the
class in question, allowing the tool to run. I would not think that such a change would impact the output so much as to make it unusable.

    Hello
    I created custom class based on CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE in order to modify web template.
    I would like to pass parameter to this class. How is it possible?
    HUGE thanks!

    Hello ,
              Various methods will be given for the class like CAPTION_CELL CHARACTERISTIC_CELL:
    Position the cursor on the name of the method and click on 'Redefine' , where you will get the parameters used in the method such as I_X, I_COLSPAN, where you can define your logic.
    hope it helps

    I am struggling to come with an xsd becuase of the initialization of boss1 and boss2Why do you think that there is a dependecy of initialization to XSD development? Normally, you should only be creating the XSD to represent the class structure, not the runtime final value of instance member.
    You will have to write the initilization logic in helper or utility classes.

  • 3rd party integration: How to get XML Schema (.xsd) for a custom entity, to use with a mapper

    Is there an easy way to get the xml schema/DTD for a custom entity, specifically an .XSD file for that entity (which will then be used to create a map to be able to transform the fields of the entity to a 3rd-party message format)?
    So have a custom entity with lots and lots of fields. Each of the fields will map to a differently named field to match the schema of the 3rd party entity. A very common situation. Looking to use a tool like the Biztalk mapper or Altova's MapForce to generate
    an .xslt file to transform the downloaded entity (service.Retrieve with all columns) to the new format. (Will implement a typical VETR pattern.)
    Apparently with CRM 4 there was a call that provided this, but from 2011 has not been available. Working with a crm 2015 system.

    That will give a descriptor of the table and allow creation of an .XSD file, but it's really complex in terms of types, and the there's type conversion. It might be an easy way to get a schema, with the downside being it's hard to use that schema.
    It seems easier to do a fetch of the record with all fields filled in using service.Retrieve, and then converting this to xml, using Microsoft's guidance leads to using https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh675409.aspx which will serialize the entity
    into XML with all the fields converted to type string, and with complex fields likewise converted to strings with additional information about the type.
    Using this it's possible using an number of tools to create an easier to use .XSD file.
    However, it would seem most integrations of this type are using 3rd party CRM connectors. Perhaps this is why Microsoft hasn't provided anything direct (and took away what they did have in crm4.0 due to it generating a hard to use .XSD or due to letting
    their partners continue income streams from selling connectors").
    But without using 3rd party connectors, or following the still tedious method of generating .XSD (a useable .xsd), have not yet come up with an easy, automatic way to get an .XSD or to easily integrate with 3rd party message format.

  • Can i create more than one attributes for the custom class created using java API

    Hello everyone,
    I have been creating class and its attributes programatically using java APIs, I want to know that is there any way to create multipal attributs for the same class in just one call of API with all the options for each attributes,
    thanks

    You can create a new class and define all of the Attributes at the time the class is created - this is the preferred way of creating classes. Use the addAttributeDefinition() method on ClassObjectDefinition. If you need to add attributes to existing classes, you can only add them one at a time (using the addAttribute() method on ClassObject).

  • "1046: Type was not found" for a custom class calling a custom class

    This should be easy... but I've spent two days on nothing but this error.... I am absolutely at my wit's end.
    Basically, I've got a "character" container linked to a MovieClip in the library that is supposed to act as a container for various body parts; head, shirt, pants, etc. For simplicity, I've just got Character class and Head class, both in a "char" package, both classes are named the same as their respective files (Character.as and Head.as, both in an actual file called "char"). Character class is supposed to create an instance of Head, but I always get this 1046 error. The problem is that I've got other body parts with nearly identical classes that ARENT throwing a 1046 error and are working just fine. I went and made a new project to see if I was still having the problem with just character calling 1 simple body part. I do.
    In the symbol properties, it's Exported for Actionscript & Export in Frame 1... the class is "char.Head" and "char.Character" respectively. I have tried everything I can find or think of, I've done dozens of Google searches and sifted through dozens of forums. I can't find anything and I've been working on this problem for 24 straight working hours now. I'm completely exasperated......
    package char {
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Stage;
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.geom.ColorTransform;
    import fl.motion.Color;
    import char.Head;
    public class Character extends MovieClip {
    // 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Head
    private var _head:Head;
    // reference to get the stage later
    private var stageRef:Stage;
    public function Character(stageRef:Stage=null) {
    trace("NEW CHARACTER");
    //1180 Call to a possibly undefined method Head;
    _head=new Head();
    And here's the contents of Head.as
    package char {
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.display.Stage;
    import flash.geom.ColorTransform;
    public class Head extends MovieClip {
    private var skin_type:uint;
    public function Head() {
    trace ("NEW HEAD");
    Now if I declare the head variable and create a new instance of it in my document class, no problem whatsoever. If I do it in my Character class, it just doesn't stop giving me this error!!! Somebody please help me.
    1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Head
    1180 Call to a possibly undefined method Head;

    There is a blank movieclip named Character in the library, yup.
    Also in my main handler for my document class calls "mainCharacter = new Character(); "
    Here's a chunk of the code from the document class. For the record, it calls "head" as just a test and that works fine. Just doesn't work in "Character"
    import char.Character;
    import char.Head;
    public class MainHandler extends MovieClip {
    private static var _instance:MainHandler;
    public static function get instance():MainHandler { return _instance; }
    public var mainCharacter:Character;
    public var head_:Head;
    public function MainHandler() {
    _instance = this;
    mainCharacter = new Character();
    head_=new Head();

  • How do I resolve a ClassNotFoundException for a custom class

    I am new to Java and am having frustrating problems. I am creating a Desktop application and want the application to have the capability to read from the file system.
    I created a custom class to hold mapping data and stored the object to file using ObjectOutputStream writeObject. I read it back into the program to make sure it worked. All was well and fine. I am trying to mimic the C capability to read and write entire data structures at a time. I ensured that the class (and all classes that it relied on) were serializable.
    Now back to the Desktop app. I am trying to read the object into that same custom class in my program. The program compiles fine. I have set my classpath up in Netbeans 6.1 to look to the other apps classes, have imported the classes. Again no problem.
    I also set my classpath (in the run section) to look at the jar file in the other section that contains my class. I have tried setting this runtime classpath many ways. I will get a ClassNotFoundException: MyClass at URLClassLoader ... on and on.
    I really am trying to do something simple here by just reading in a structure (class in Java). I was told previously that it is a classpath problem. How can I resolve this? I don't think that I should have to write a binary or text file that contains all of the various parameters (easier to do in one hop using
    MyClass c = (MyClass) in.readObject();
    Help is appreciated. Jay A

I ensured that the class (and all classes that it relied on) were serializable.I'm not sure why you think Object streams are the way to go here. Why aren't a text representation and a toString call good enough? Sounds like you just want a simple persistence mechanism without a relational database. Writing a Map of <key, value> pairs using a PrintWriter would seem enough to me and parsing each pair on a line to read it back in would seem sufficient to me.
    Now back to the Desktop app. I am trying to read the object into that same custom class in my program. Why? What are you trying to do? Why can't your Desktop app instantiate an instance of the custom class and be done with it?
    The program compiles fine. I have set my classpath up in Netbeans 6.1 to look to the other apps classes, have imported the classes. Again no problem.So does your NetBeans classpath include your custom class?
    I also set my classpath (in the run section) to look at the jar file in the other section that contains my class. Why do you have to package the other class in a JAR? Why can't that package just be part of your current project? Or are they separate projects, and you want to treat the first one like a 3rd party JAR?
    I have tried setting this runtime classpath many ways. I will get a ClassNotFoundException: MyClass at URLClassLoader ... on and on.You aren't setting CLASSPATH correctly. You don't need a URL class loader. You're making this far too complicated. It's a much easier thing than this.

    CNF exception means one thing: a .class that you need to load isn't in the CLASSPATH. That advice you got is correct. You need to figure out how to make it so.
    Your description is confusing.
    I think your mistake is assuming that serialization is the best way to persist that mapping data. Without knowing more about the details, I think adding two method to the "custom class" that encapsulated the mapping data should be sufficient. Create a static read() method that takes a java.io.Reader and returns a populated instance of your class. Create a static write() method that accepts a java.io.Writer and an instance of your class and returns void. Have them read and write plain text. Then either make that source code part of your NetBeans project or package it into a JAR and put that in your CLASSPATH. Either way, if you don't do it properly you'll get that CNF exception. Keep plugging until you get it right.

  • Is it mandatory to have NWDI for building custom classes in ISA.

    Hi All
    In the development guide, I see that for extensions and modifications, we go through NWDI. But till ISA 4.0 we used the ANT Build tool.
    Can someone please help me out with extensions is CRM-R/3-ISA B2C applications. We are upgrading from ISA 4.0 to E Commerce 5.0. But we are not using NWDI. We do have a lot of Custom JAVA Classes. We need to merge those into 5.0 too... Please help me out.
    Points guarenteed.
    Thanks

    technically there is no problem,
    nwdi is for management, especially for mass development, if you only have one developer, just go with local development.

  • How to register mouselistener for custom class?

    i m trying to create a custom class (extending java.awt.Rectangle)which responds to mouse gestures.

    Something like this? Don't think I'd be likely to extend Rectangle, myself, but anyway...
    public class HotSpot extends Rectangle implements MouseMotionListener
        private boolean hover = false;
        // add constructors to taste
        public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e)
            if (this.hover != (contains(e.getX(), e.getY())
                this.hover = ! this.hover;
                if (this.hover)
                    // "mouse enter" code here
                else
                    // "mouse exit" code here
        public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e)
    }Obviously you'd need something like this elsewhere,
    myDrawingPad.addMouseMotionListener(new HotSpot(...));

  • Display Sales Order Result List for a customer from ECC

    Hello Experts.
    I have a requirement to display list of sales order posted for a particular date or sold-to-party or ship-to-party.
    System landscape is as below:
    My ECC system  holds all the data. Orders and subsequent documents are created here.
    My CRM system does not have any Sales related data stored on CRM system.
    Client requires to search for sales orders created for a customer.. based on few search parameters. and display the result list.
    From the Result list,Navigate to see the Over View page, Also, with partner information and material information as assignment blocks.
    How could i achieve this?
    Another Point is we do't not want to create or Edit or even Display ERP Sales Order on UI.
    We want to have UI look.
    Kindly, if someone has implemented this scenario or used standard CRM objects to achieve this functionality please share.
    Thanks

    Hi Nageshwara,
    You need Lean Order(LORD) Interface set up for such kind of requirement.
    There should be a trusted RFC Destinations needs to be set up in the CRM system and an ERP Profile to be set up in the IMG Path CRM --> Transactions --> Settings for ERP Transactions Maintained via CRM ---> Define Profiles for ERP Sales transactions. If these things are properly setup you can use the component ERP_S for searching for Sales Order in ECC using the criteria that you mentioned in your question.
