Generated Web Service Proxies are not listed in NWA after deployment

Hi everyone,
I have some problems with the generated WS proxies as descriped in SAP Help [Creating Web Service Proxies|https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-104216]). After generation and deplyoment no proxies are listed in the NWA under "SOA Management - Application and Scenario Communication - Single Service Administration". Are there any aditional steps e.g. entries in the deployment descriptors necessary?
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Markus.

Hi Iris,
I think you are in Production Mode enabled Domain, because this option is only available for Dev Mode Domain.
there is one alternate workaround.
Under %BEA_Home% / server / lib
You will find wlstestclient.ear.
and try to access this application and paste the current webservice URL.
Hope this is helpful.

Kal

  • Generating web service proxies

    Hi,
    Is it best practice to generate web service proxies in different packages? Or is it better to let JDeveloper use the namespaces in the XSDs to create the packages?
    I am currently doing the former. The problem is that if the generated proxy class refers to the same XSD, but is in a different package, I will have to convert my custom classes multiple times into the generated proxy classes. Is this the best way to do it?
    Or should shared XSDs among multiple WSDLs be generated into the same package?

    I think its better to use Jdev generated packages to avoid any complications.

  • Reusing deployable web service proxies

    Hi ,
    I am new to CE 7.1 and am wondering about reusing deployable web service proxies.
    In this link , it is written that
    "The Web service client and the Web service proxy must be in the same EAR and in the same module (EJB or Dynamic Web module)."
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/113a1221337249e10000000a155369/content.htm
    So what if two applications need to use the same deployable web service proxy ? You shouldn't generate 2 proxies. How do both applications use the same deployable proxy ?
    Thank you.

    Thierry,
    If I understand your question correctly, you have two applications (distributed across two or more DCs) and you want to use the same generated Web Service proxies in both the DCs.
    If this is the case and assuming that there are two EJB DCs (one containing the proxies and the other containing the actual WS client implementation) and one deployable App DC (containing reference to the two EJB DCs), then define Public Parts for the proxies and use the same in the required EJB DC. You may refer to my [article |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/d00fc143-5878-2c10-6f87-f868c1ae44e6] that explains this concept in a detailed manner.

  • Not able to consume Web Services that are in Service Registry

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to consume the web services that are published into the Service Registry of CE 7.1 Server.
    Previously, I was able to consume the web services.But now I found the following error in VC Console, When i try to consume the same web services or even other web services that are there in that server.
    "(E) Error in Search: Unknown error has occured in service execution"
    Please help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Palani

    Hi Palani,
    I guess the first 2 things you may want to test are:
    1. Is the Webservice reachable? please try and run the webservice URL in your browser and see if you get the xml file.
    2. Proxy settings - please see that the proxy settings on the server are defined properly.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.
    Omer.

  • Problem using WSDL from SAP in IBM's RAD for generating web service client

    When importing a WSDL from the ABAP stack on a SAP 6.40 system into IBM's RAD tool for generating a web service client there are errors with the soap fault classes that get generated.  The WSDL declares the types for the faults with WebServiceName.RfcException and these have elements of name, text, and message.  When the tools see this in the WSDL they generate classes that extend the Java exeception class and this causes an error because the "message" name conflicts with the standard java exception message.  Has anyone else ran into this problem?  It seems like a basic problem many java tools for generating web service client proxies would have because the soap faults get turned into java exceptions.  This name conflict of the java exception with the WSDL fault definition means that code always needs to be adjusted and cannot simply use the classes that are generated from the WSDL.  Anyone run across this or a similar problem in the java environment using the SAP WSDL?

  • Use other application server to run Oracle generated web services

    Hi all,
    I am currently running an Oracle 9i database and application server (OC4J) and use WebservicesAssembler (JPublisher) to expose PL/SQL packages as web services to an external PDA application.
    Is it possible to run the EAR files (the assembled web service) generated in this way on another type of application server? This question because I need to use Resin in a live environment.
    If this is not possible, would there be a way to work around it? I mean by manually programming the web service against the PL/SQL package. And if so, has anybody tried that out before?
    Are there other alternatives?
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards,
    Stijn Lambert

    Hello,
    Which version of OracleAS/Web Service stack are you using?
    If you are using a version prior to 10.1.3 the Web Service stack is proprietary and not portable.
    JAX-RPC used in 10.1.3 is more portable but you have to be very careful about the way you create your deployment descriptor.
    In a general manner you can always create pure JDBC/JPublisher clients and expose them using the Web Service that you want.

  • FlexBuilder Generated Web Service Stubs and requestTimeout

    I generated webservice stubs from a WSDL using Flexbuilder and during an operation I would like the request to timeout after a certain amount of time (say 5 seconds).  How would I get the generated web service stub to generate a timeout fault?  I tried setting the requestTimeout property in the autogenerated BaseService class, but it seems to have no effect

    Can you point me to any documentation that gives more information about this ? Because I came across a scenerio's once wher if I provide Ties it will accept them and it will not re-create them .........
    Both are tow scenerio with "server" = true option :
    Here's when it won't do it :
    If I run wscompile on a config file that provide's "service" tag and include all those ties generated in deployement file it won't re-create the ties.
    Bur here's when it will :
    If I run wscompile on config file that provides "wsdllocation" tag and than include those genertaed files in the deployement than it will re-create the ties again .
    Any idea about that ?

  • Workshop 10.1 WSDL - cannot publish generated Web service

    I'm trying to create a Web service starting from a WSDL using the doc Web Service Development Starting Points ([url http://edocs.bea.com/wlw/docs101/guide/webservices/conWebServiceDevelopmentCycle.html]http://edocs.bea.com/wlw/docs101/guide/webservices/conWebServiceDevelopmentCycle.html) .
    I create a Web service project, import my WSDL into my src directory, click on the WSDL and select Web Services > Generate Web Service.
    Workshop generates the implementation class and the JAR file, just like the doc describes.
    When I try to publish it to my server in the IDE< however, I get an error :
    Error with publish task 'WebServicesProjectBuildTask'.
    Web services in WLW101Example_WebServiceFromWSDL_JAXRPC have errors.
    java.lang.UnsupportedMethodException: Method not implemented.
    Error(s) occurred during publish assembly. No modules will be published.
    The operation in the WSDL has been implemented, and the class is pretty simple :
    package com.kohls.services;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import weblogic.jws.*;
    import com.kohls.is.soa.x09.meta.*;
    * KohlsDynamicWsPortTypeImpl class implements web service endpoint interface KohlsDynamicWsPortType */
    @WebService(serviceName = "KohlsDynamicWS",
                targetNamespace = "http://www.kohls.com/is/soa/0.9/meta",
                endpointInterface = "com.kohls.services.KohlsDynamicWsPortType")
    @WLHttpTransport(contextPath = "is/soa/0.9", serviceUri = "meta", portName = "KohlsDynamicWsBinding")
    public class KohlsDynamicWsPortTypeImpl implements KohlsDynamicWsPortType
      public KohlsDynamicWsPortTypeImpl()
      public com.kohls.is.soa.x09.meta.KohlsMessageDocumentType process(com.kohls.is.soa.x09.meta.KohlsMessageDocumentType Message)
        KohlsMessageDocumentType message = null;
        message = new KohlsMessageDocumentType();
        MessageHeaderType        header  = new MessageHeaderType();
        MessagePayloadType       payload = new MessagePayloadType();
        message.setHeader(header);
        message.setPayload(payload);
        return message;
    }The only thing unusual here is that the @WLHttpTransport annotation overrides the context, but I don't see that as a problem.
    Is there something simple I am missing here ? I guess I'm always surprised when Workshop cannot publish something it generates, but there is usually a reason - library setting or something.
    I'd appreciate any advice !
    Edited by ethan_kohls at 01/10/2008 11:59 AM

    Hi Ethan
    I tested it using Workshop10.0Mp1 and didn't see any issue with publish.
    Here are the steps I followed:
    1) Create a default webservice project with default facets.(no ear)
    2) Drop the business and meta folder and under project/src folder
    3) Create a test package under src
    4) Right click on the wsdl and choose generate webservice and create it under the test folder
    5) Replace the process method implementation with the one you have here
    6) Create a 10.0mp1 Workshop server (please make sure you create a workshop server and not wls server) and deploy the app to the server
    I was able to run the webservice successfully.
    Let me know if I am doing anything different from you.

  • Can I generate web service jcs control outside workshop?

    I want to generate a web service control, like I do in workshop, but not
    from the workshop IDE. I noticed workshop looks like it uses ant tasks for a
    good deal. Is there an ant task, or anything, I can use outside workshop to
    generate a web service jcx control?
    thanks

    Hi,
    I cannot confirm whether or not this is a known issue or even a defect. Out of instinct I am building Web Services proxies in their own project because it generates artifacts e.g. for the return types that I don't want to see lying around in my Web Services project. So I assume that it is considered best practices to not put them into the same project to avoid file overrides

  • Existing Categories are not listed in the Start Process

    Hello,
    I am currently using LC ES3 with SP3 and start having an issue with no Catgory listed in the Workspace ES3.
    I checked the AdminUI > Application n Services > Categories and no Category is there either. If I create a new Category in the Admin UI then I can see it is listed in the Workspace ES3 but not sure why all of the existing Categories are not listed there.
    Does any one have idea about this issue or any advise on this? Can you please share.
    Thanks in advance,
    HD

    The -1 simply means it has no parent.  I'm not sure when they enabled trees in the categories(much needed improvement!) as we just upgraded finally from 8.2....  For example if you have Category 1 and Category 2.  If they are both -1 you will see them both on the "Start Process" screen.  Where as if Category 1 was OID(2001) and parent_oid(-1) and Category 2 was OID(2005) and parent_oid(2001) then Category 2 would be under Category 1 in a treeview.
    You just need to make sure that the parent_oid column is not nothing.  If you did an upgrade it most likely is like ours was and the column is empty since it was a new column that 8.2 did not have.
    Pic1 is (-1) for both.
    Pic2 is Category 2 having Category 1 as it's parent.
    Pic of the database for With Category 2 using Category 1 as a parent.

  • Problem generating Web Service with business methods in multiple EJB's

    Hi,
    I'm I a "web service novice" but I'm working with an
    application which was developed in an earlier version
    of Studio which has
    ~30 business method coming from ~12 EJB's. When I attempt
    to recreate the Web Service in Java Studio Enterprise 7 (had same problem versions 5 and 6) I have trouble. When I execute the "Generate Web Service Files" command I get complilation errors in the <webservice_name>.java file. It is obvious that the
    protected Map theJNDIMap = makeJNDIMap();
    protected Map makeJNDIMap() {
         Map m = new HashMap();
         // This map might get changed at deployment time
         m.put(......
    is all screwed up. Entries are missing and the closing bracket isn't even there.
    Is there some user error on my part?
    Is this a know bug (I couldn't any info. and I get the same behavior on the current and older versions of Studio)?
    Is there a workaround? I can fix this particular java file and compile it sucessfully. However, I'm still missing many of the other web service files that should be generated for me.
    All the tutorials on web services that I've done to looked over all get there business method from 1 EJB :(
    Please advise,
    Freda Phelps

    I had a problem too. Successfully created an EJB and its test application. Tested the same using Web client and works fine. Now created a web service from EJB methods. It created the skeletons. When tried creating Web Svc test client or web svc other files..it gives me an exception saying xmlservices.jar doesnt exist in the C:\Docs and Settings\<$username>\.jstudio\Ent04Q4modules. I have searched for this file and copied (overwritten) it into this directory. But still i cant proceed further.

  • XML Schema mapping error when generating web service

    I have created a method in java that returns an array of an object type (a user defined class). When tried to generate a web service JDeveloper did not allow me to select the method, giving the following "Why not.." explanation: "One or more parameters did not have an XML Schema mapping and/or serializer specified".

  • New JCo names are not listing in WB Content Administrator

    Dear Friends,
    I have deployed my WebDynpro application on a landscape where the production system got 4 server services running.
    Initially the WD application was using the existing JCo connections.  But on the latest deploy I have to use new JCo connections and I made changes.
    Problem is, these new JCo connection names are not appearing in WebDynpro Content Administrator and still it displays old JCo connections.
    This problem exists with global WD Content Admin. URL as well as with individual server url, except in one server instance where JCos yet to be created.
    But when I execute the application with global URL, it is working fine.
    Intent is to create and use my new JCo connections for the application which are not listing in WB Content Admin.
    Is it require to restart the server services?
    Is it possible to solve this problem without restarting the services?
    Is there any other way to resolve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Lakshmikantha

    Sorry I can't approach to restart the j2ee service at this movement.
    And the application got new JCo name at it's JCO refrences.
    Infact the application is working fine with new JCos on development and quality systems.
    Problem exists only on production system where it got 4 server instances.
    Any hope without restarting services?
