Generating consistent height/width for items

Hello,
I have created an application module consisting of several nested groups that each contain several items. The layout of these items is either form or table. Although JHS generates all the pages efficiently, it takes the item display width as defined in their respective column length. This generates a page that does not look good visually. I tried changing the width at the view object layer and was successful in doing so. However, I had to change each item width one by one. This is very time consuming as my entire module has more than 200 items and I am yet to start building other modules.
I read that JHS uses templates that can be customized as per ones convenience. However, I am not sure whether I can use this feature to do the above task which generating consistent widths for items. Can anyone guide me briefly on the process I should follow using template customizations to achieve the above?

Thank you for your inputs. I have gone through the JHS Guide section 4.7. I created custom template files and linked the item property for item to this custom template. This works.

Help with Error: Jcarousel: No width/ height set for items....

Hey everyone. I have a user that is using a Tour and everytime he opens up a site like ESPN he receives the following error: Jcarousel: No width/ height set for items. This will cause and infinite loop. Aborting… I had him pull his battery but this did not work. I have tried to search the forums and google, but I have yet to find anything concerning Blackberrys. He is on V 4.7.140. I'm not sure what the current version of the Tour software is, but I can definately try updating it to see if this solves the problems. Before I do this though I wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas or has ran into the same problem. Thanks for the help.

Cannot Apply User Define Serial for ITEMS

we have to generate user define serial # for items . for that we need to upload the MAC addresses as serial number from a excel spread sheet can any one help regarding that please

You have to do some coding to achieve this:
1. Create a table with three columns like serial_id, serial_number,taken_sts.
2. Load your serial numbers from spreadsheet to this table using an insert or SQL Loader.
3. Oracle gives you this package user_pkg_serial with nothing coded in package body. Add your logic to this body to return only one serial number at a time. That is the reason I asked you to create table with three columns. Maintain taken_sts column as N for only one serial number at a time and return that serial number (out parameter of the package body).
4. It is extremely important to return the x_return_status as 'S' otherwise this will not work.
5. Run the Generate Serial Numbers program and your serial numbers can be seen in the mtl_serial_numbers table.

How to increase and descrease width/height of an item?

Hi,
My question is, there are so many item are displayed in the form and user wants to increase/decrease the size(width/height) of any item, just like we changes the size of any window.
how we can do the same in form at run time. if anyone is having solution pl fwd to me at [email protected] or [email protected]

Hi Anil
Use the SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(item_name, WIDTH, y) for changing the width of the item and similarly for changinging the HEIGHT.
Put this command in a loop and assign the loop variable to the "y" variable in the SET_ITEM_PROPERTY. Doing this will change your item width and height at the run time.

I am unable to generate a Dunning Proposal for Promise to Pay items

Please advise how or if its even possible to generate a dunning proposal for overdue Promise to Pay items. Currently after debugging I find that the Dunning Proposal filters out any items that are from open promises. Is there a way to generate the dunning proposal for promise to pay items that are overdue? I'm using ECC 6.0 EhP 4.0 PSCD module

Within SPRO there is some config to define a dunning block for a promise to pay. I would suggest you check here.
FSCM >> Collections Management >> Int with AR >> Promise to Pay >> Make settings for Promise to Pay.
If this does not work, I would assume this is because you are using FI-CA and the config is slightly different.

Controlling of Input width for Password Item Type

can we control the Input Width of
password Item Type when the form creation.
If the Item Type is Password for any field during the form creation, i want to control the Input Width for that field for good

Need urgent help to generate SPL Data Sources for Line Items

Hi All,
I am trying to extract the Special Purpose Ledger Data from R/3 into BW. To do this, I am following the steps to generate the Data Sources for Totals table and Lien Items Table.
Using Transaction BW01 and BW03 on the R/3 side, I am able to generate the Totals Record-DataSource successfully.
But I am not able to generate the Line Items-DataSource. I am using the same procedure.
Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction. Are there any other settings I need to make to generate the Line Items-DataSource. Interestingly, I am able to generate the Line Items-DataSource for some other old ledgers in the System like ZZ and ZX. But I need the Line Items-DataSource from a ledger called ZP for which I am having trouble.
I would greatly appreciate if someone can get back to me ASAP.

During BW01, The Generate extract structure is fine for both Total and Line Item Table.The issue is when we run tcode bw03 where you assign the datasource to a ledger.
Here, I can assign only for the Total Records data source and NOT for the Line Items-DataSource.
I hope I could explain the issue. Looking forward for some advice.

The third parameter to apex_item.text is p_size. You can set the field width with this parameter.

Generate Photo Gallery XML for Spry with Adobe Bridge

Wanted to post a note to what I've discovered/worked out -- a
way to
generate a very useful photos.xml from Adobe Bridge. If you
use Bridge,
it's very easy to add titles, keywords, ratings -- all kinds
of metadata
that one might use in a photo gallery. Here it is in case
anyone wants
to use.
The script is based on one I found at the Adobe User to User
Bridge
Scripting Forum for exporting a CSV file.
Note 1: this particular script doesn't take into account
CDATA that
might exist in your metadata, like ampersands in your title.
I've just
avoided using those, but you could also have the script write
out a
CDATA node for that info instead.
Note 2: this script does not write out a thumbpath,
thumbwidth or
thumbheight attribute. But usually the thumbpath is the exact
same as
the regular "path" attribute, and the thumbwidth and
thumbheight are
just a ratio of the regular "width" and "height" attributes.
I added a
bit of JS to the gallery.js file to calculate those before
growing the
thumbnail on rollover.
Personally I'm using keywords as categories and titles as
captions and
sorting by rating (stars in Bridge), so here's the .jsx file
I created.
The script should be saved to the folder "StartupScripts" in
Program
Files/Common Files/Adobe.

I updated the script so it exports an XML file from Bridge
with full
compatibility with the Spry Demo Photo Gallery, to use as
photos.xml.

To Use:
The script goes in the folder "StartupScripts" in Program
Files/Common

Launch Bridge and browse to a folder that contains the files
you want in
your gallery -- the "source" folder, as it were.
Choose the menu command "Tools > Export XML for Spry

Type a name for your XML file in the Save dialog box, choose
a location,
and hit "Save".
In the dialog box that pops up, enter a max length/width for
your
thumbnails, in pixels. Some common sizes are "75" , "100" or
"125".

How to create "moveUp" and "moveDown" functionality for items in a TileList

I want to create "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons for items in a TileList. They should have the same functionality as if they were dragged and dropped, except only moving one position up or down (and thus switch places with the item above/below). I have tried this using this code for the moveUp button:

2. Item two is shown in GUI as selected (has Halo around it - so far, so good)
3. If i click "MoveUp" again, the same two (item three and two) switces places, instead of the intended item two and one.
The traces tell me that myTileList.selectedIndex variable isn't set correctly as the trace shows this:

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Is there any way to get the height/width of an image before importing it in the indesign document.

Hi All,
I need to obtain an image's attributes such as dimensions (height, width in pixels) without placing image in indesign document.
I have full path of the image (say abc.jpg is stored at c:\my pic\abc.jpg).
I have obtained the IDFile for this image, tried getting size using GetFileSize() which correctly return size in bytes.
Is there any way to get the height/width of image without importing it in the indesign document.
Please, give me some hints. I have spent quite a lot time digging in CHM. I have searched in FileUtils, IDFile API's but found no method which serves this purpose.
At this point I am clueless where to search next.
Any help will be appriciated.
Just a point to mention, I am able to get image height and width for an image in indesign doc though Its not my requirement.

You might be able to examine the contents of the PlaceGun after calling kImportAndLoadPlaceGunCmdBoss without actually placing the image in a document. Not sure, but would be worth looking at.
Otherwise you will probably have to write platform specific code, ideally with a generic platform-independant wrapper (see SDKSamples/paneltreeview/PlatformFileSystemIterator).
For the Mac, look at CGImageGetWidth() etc., not sure what the best option is for windows.
Perhaps Quicktime could provide you with a platform independant solution.

How to Generate a Java file for a JSP Page

I need to debug the file , but weblogic server is not generating the java file for the JSP pages .

JSPs are compiled into servlets automatically and those classes are stored in WEB-INF/classes folder. Servlet engine handles servlets.

Error-M2O-Settlement rule for assembly order for item...could not be genera

Hi,
When I am creating Sales Order (VA01) for M2O, I am able to do the costing and copy the EK02 condition type. I have verified the the incompletion log, it indicates that document is complete.
But while saving the sales order, the below error message is displaed:
Settlement rule for assembly order for item 000010 could not be generated. Should the order still be saved?
                Yes/No
1. If No is choosen the following error message is displayed
       Error when processing Production order
      Error when processing Production order
      Message no. V1380
      Diagnosis
        A technical error has occurred. On calling up the assembly interface, exception 5 was triggered. The exceptions have the following meanings:
1 = External block, 2 = General error, 3 = Insufficient data for the interface, 4 = Order was not found, 5 = Update has been rejected, 6 = Final document number for Production order is not issued. Procedure: Inform your system administrator.
2. If Yes is choosen, it is creating Production Order without settlement rule. Able to perform GI & Gr. If I try to enter settelement rule (Settlement receiver SDI - Sales document item) in production order (CO02), the belwo error message is displayed
"Distribution rule for Sales document item can only be created automatically Message no. KD063"
We are using the requierement class with below details:
Reqmts class: ZSO- for M2O
AAC = E, Valuation = A, Settlement profile =SD1, RAKey = 000004, Assembly type = 3.
Settlement profile contain:
Allocation structure, PA structure, Default object type = SDI. Valid receivers: Optional -Sales Order / Prof. seg.
If I make the Valuation field as blank in Reqmts class, there is no error while creating Sales order. And also Settelemnt rule with sales document item as receiver is successfully creating for the production order. Since the Valuation is blank in requirement class, it is Non valuated Sales order stock. All GIs & GR are non valuated
The business requirement is it should be valuated sales order stock and the production varinaces has to be settled to Sales order. Then Sales order has to be settled to COPA.
Need your valuable inputs to meet this requirement.
