Generating reports in excel(Very-2 urgent)

Hi All,
I am generating a report via forms and want to generate it in excel format.
I am generating it as .csv extension.
I want to know how can i set the value of delimiter at runtime through form.
Right now the report is getting generated but it is taking default delimiter i.e tab.
I want to set it's value to ,
Kindly, help in getting this problem solved asap.
Thanks in anticipation
Regards
Amit

Amit,
if you use run_report_object, then you use the
set_report_object_property(rep_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'Delimited');
set_report_object_property(rep_id, REPORT_OTHER, 'DELIMITER= , ');
if you use the Runtime engine and run_product then you add
add_parameter(paramlist_id,'Delimiter',TEXT_PARAMETER,',');
to the param list
That should do it.

  • Code generate report in excel format from portal(Application Server)

    Hi all
Please give some solution with code generate report in excel format from
    oracle portal(Application Server).

    Not feasible.
Why? Because "the Excel format" is a binary and proprietary Microsoft file format. And writing a generator to generate Excel files will be complex, and resource expensive. In the vast majority of cases this will not be justified.
As an alternative the very basic Microsoft XML office format can be used. But note that this is not a a ISO standard (it has been shot down in flames) - and effort and resources for that would be better spend on the Open Document XML standard (which very likely will be ratified as the ISO standard instead).
Of course, you could have meant a CSV file - in which case, you need to play close attention to details. CSV is not an Excel format. A software designers and developers, our success is determined by attention to technical detail. In which case you are not paying any attention to technical detail by confusing CSV with Excel.

  • Download custom generated reports in Excel from ITS

    Hi All,
We have generated some custom reports and have used ALV reporting. Now from the GUI we are able to download the report in excel but from the ITS this functionality is not working,
Has anybody idea how to achieve this for the custom reports.
    Thanks,
    Smita

    Hi Luciano,
Thanks for your reply. I am really lost with your question. Before we were not able to download the standard SAP report and then we upgraded our Java Virtual Machine to V1.4 and its working for the standard report.
Now my problem is that I am not able to download it from the custom generated report.
As soon as I am clicking on export to local file the report screen is getting blank and not allowing for any further action.
    Any clue?
    Thanks,

  • Generate report in excel format

    Hello all,
I´m trying to produce an excel report with oracle reports. I have three different queries:
    - one that returns columns name of the report.
    - one that returns rows of the report.
    - and one that returns the results.
But when i generate the report, using desformat=delimited or spreadsheet, this three queries appears in three different places, one below other in spreadsheet.
When i generate a pdf report, this queries looks fine, and appear in the place that i want.
I´m using oracle 10g version. Can anyone tell me how can i put this three queries like a grid, so results are aligned with columns and rows?
I need urgently an answer please.
    Best regards,

  • OEM Report in excel format

    Hi All,
Anyone know a way to get the report as excel format instead of html?

    Hi Satheesh,
In EM 12c, BI Publisher (BIP) integration allows generating reports in Excel format (also in HTML, PDF, RTF, and PowerPoint 2007 formats).
For information on integrating BIP with EM 12c, see:

  • Formatting report in excel format

    Hi,
I have to generate report in excel format but I don't know how to format it for example to add a dynamic title, and to add a logo in the top of the excel sheet...
    any help..
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Oracle Portal Reports generated do not pick up the foramting conditions which you would see in HTML/ASCII format .Hence ,TITLE ,FOOTER or number ,date formats wouldn't work in Excel format .Incase you needed formatted output ,you can use HTML/ASCII foramt.
Incase you want to use the EXCEL format.Save the Excel file and right macros to do so.
    Thanks,

  • Error while generating Report through XL Reporter.

    Hello..
I am using microsoft excel 2003.I have installed XL Reporter 2005SP1. While i am trying to generate report throgh excel reporter i get the following error.
Security setting in microsoft excel prohibit XL Reporter from running.
    For more information click Help.
I also tried by making security level low in microsoft excel -->Tools > Macros> Security. But still problem there.
    Thanks,
    Arpit

    Hi Arpit,
As well as setting the macro security to Medium or lower, you need to tick the options 'Trust all installed add-ins and templates' and 'Trust access to Visual Basic Projects'. These options appear at the bottom of the Trusted Publishers tab in the Macro Security window.
    Hope this helps,

    directly ? How ?

    Ray,
For generating reports in excel you should write the query with tab delimiters
    like
    select CHR(9),COL1,CHR(9),COL2... FROM TABLE
    CHR(9) REPRESENTS the tab
I've tried opening the RDF in excel but with no results.
Instead in Reports Runtime preview go to
    File>Generator options>HTML
Open this HTML file in Excel(the query should have tab delimiters) convert it in to a tab delimited format or txt, save & when you open this converted file you will see all the cols
& Rows aligned properly in the cells.

  • XL Reporter to Excel

    Hi all
What are all the settings that have to be on Excel to generate report in Excel from XL Reporter.

    Hi,
This SAP note is the one things to set if you want to run XL reporter and edit the report in the MS. Excel:
XLR - Error with security settings in Excel
    Symptom
When trying to edit, create or run a report definition I get the error message 'Security settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter to run'. I have checked note 853821, but the error message still appear.
    Other terms
SBO, Addon, Add-On, VB, Visual Basic, Office, macro, Business One, reporting
    Reason and Prerequisites
XL Reporter is a Visal Basic application and needs some necessary componenents to run VBA macros. In Microsoft Excel, look under Tools -> Macro and check if the 'Visual Basic Editor' is available or deactivated. If deactivated, this is probably because Visual Basic for Applications in Office are not installed.
    Solution
Install Visual Basic for Applications in Office.
(This description is for Office 2003 and may vary depending on Office version)
In Windows, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs. Find Microsoft Office 2003, select it and choose Change.
In the Office 2003 setup window, choose Add or Remove features and choose Next.
Check the box "Choose advanced customization of applications" and choose Next.
Expand the line "Office Shared Features", scroll down and choose the dropdownbox for Visual Basic for Applications and choose Run from My Computer.
Choose Update and wait for the installation to finish. Choose OK when a message saying that Office 2003 has been updated successfully appears.
Check that all settings are according to note 853821 and start XL Reporter. You should now be able to run or edit reports in Excel.
    here is the 2nd:
Unable to load Excel COM add-in for XL Reporter as user
    Symptom
The user get an error message "A required COM add-in program for XL Reporter has not been loaded and prohibits Microsoft Excel from running." when trying to open a report definition.
    Other terms
XLR, XL Reporter, Excel, COM add-in, administrator
    Reason and Prerequisites
You need to be an administrator on the local machine to add COM add-ins.
    Solution
The user should be added as a member of the administrator role on the local computer the first time you start Excel from XL Reporter the first time so that the COM addin are registered, then you can remove the user from the administrator group again.
let's know if it still can't run.
    Rgds,

  • XML Report Issue while generating the Report in EXCEL

    Hi All,
I have Created the XML Report which will generate the output in EXCEL format. I am having the issue with the report output in EXCEL.
    In my Case,
If I ran the concurrent it got completed normally and the output got completed normally and the output is generated successfully if the data for the input parameter combinations exists.
Issue is if there is no data exists for the combinations of parameters choosen then it gives the output in excel with the headers alone some times. (meaning there is no combinations of data exists for the input given excel is having headers alone).
    wiseversa
sometimes the output in excel there is no header part too..(meaning the excel is empty/null).
Could anyone suggest how to resolve the issue so that the output in excel can include the header part if the data not exists for the input given. so that it should not generate the output as blank in excel i want the header alone should be included even if the report has no data for the input combination given.
    Its very urgent issue.
Any suggestion will be a great help for me.
    Thanks ,
    Ravi.

  • Urgent- o/p of report in excel format

    Hi All,
I want to generate o/p of my report in excel format. Please send me the sample code
    for it at [email protected]
    Thanks in advance

    Rajesh,
yes, with BI Publisher (formerly known as XML Publisher) it's easy.
But with Reports you don't need to code utl_file to get your excel-output. Beginning with 10g there's for example the possibility to use desformat=spreadsheet. Beginning with 9i there's a nice way to use WebLayout to create excel output.
