Generating repository reports

I need some help.
I've been trying to create repository reports, but when i generate a repository report, only the first and last page come out,when the repository does consist of application elements. However, the 'Full Repository documentation' report is the only one that will generate, but all other reports do not. Why is that?
I appreciate your help.

Thanks!
Another question. How good are the Impact Analysis functionalities of Oracle Designer. I tried a manual process to compare it with Oracles utilities. The Column change impact Analysis report was not as detailed as i expected. For instance, it does not identify the usage of columns in application logics within the repository.
Is this the case, or is some other method available apart from manual?
Anyone?
Thank you

  • Repository reports cannot generate HTML report

    Hello
    In our Computing Labs, we have Oracle9i Designer installed on Windows XP Professional.
    Our students are having a problem when they try to Run Report in Repository Reports.
    The student first sees an error message for Internet Explorer that says "Cannot find "file:///c:/docume~1/%username%/LOACLS~1/Temp/ck*.tmp.html". Make sure...". %username% of course being the current user and ck* being the filename of the report.
    If the user examines the contents of ~/Local settings/Temp, they will see that when this error message comes up, there is a file ck*.tmp (no HTML extension). The HTML file is never generated though.
    When the user click on the OK button for the error message, Internet Explorer open to a blank page. When IE is closed, Repository Reports posts a message that says "CDI-21309: Unable to delete file c:\docume~1\%username%\locals~1\Temp\ck*.tmp.html". When the OK button from this message is clicked the user is returned to Repository Reports, but the report is never generated.
    Our users are set up as Dynamic Local Users, and are members of the Power Users group. We do have some pretty tight restrictions on Group Policy.
    When a user who is a member of Administrators (also dynamic local user) logs in and attempts to create a report, (s)he has no problem. Repository Reports functions exactly as it should.
    I have already given Power Users complete access to all files on the hard drive, so I don't think it could be an NTFS file permission issue.
    If anyone has any advice, it is certainly welcome. Our students need to be able to print off these reports for classes, and I am not familiar at all with Designer.
    Thank you very much

    Here is how I resolved my problem with non admin users not being able to run reports.
    Designer 9i ver 9.0.2.80.6
    Repository Reports ver 9.0.2.80.4
    Problem - When non Administrator users try to generate a report in Repository Reports, they either get a file not found error for the HTML report (and IE will not show the report) or Repository Reports stops responding (and rwrun.exe has to be manually killed).
    Fixes
    -%TMP% and %TEMP% environment variables must resolve to paths that are fewer than 30 characters. In our environment (WindowsXP with Novell Dynamic Local Users), %TMP% and %TEMP% were the temp folders in the user's profile, which is a long path. Changing the environment variables to point to c:\temp was one step in resolving the issue. Although there is a patch released related to this, my installed version is post-patch and I still had to change the temp environment variables.
    -HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0\REPORTS_TMP must be set to a writable area for the user group using Designer and Reports. In our environment it was set (during install) to the local administrators temp space (in administrators local profile) - I'd guess it gets set to whatever %TMP% or %TEMP% is for whichever user installs the application. Our users cannot write to this folder, so setting this registry value to c:\temp was another step in resolving the issue.
    -c:\OraHome1\reports\logs must be writable for whichever user group is running Reports. Before making this change but after making the previous two changes, reports would simply freeze for Power Users. When trying to log off, rwrun.exe had to be manually killed - and sometimes a Dr Watson report would come up and ask to be sent in. By granting the user group that uses Reports write permissions to this folder (or the equivalent in your environment), Repositry Reports no longer freezes and successfully generates the HTML report.

  • Repository report don't function - cannot find C:\....\Temp\...file.html

    help me

    I ran the report using navigator--->repository reports.
    This report gets generated as *.html file into your c:\document\username\local\temp folder.
    Try running it again and ckeck for the report file name to locate the folder. The file name starts with ck*

  • Error REP-0999 using Repository Reports

    Hello !
    I have problems with Repository Reports tool from Oracle Designer 6i. I want to save a previewed reports in RTF format, but when I use the command "generate to file" of the previewer, I get an error REP-0999 (unimplemented error with no more explanations). Im using Oracle Designer 6i in version 6.5.52.1.0 and Repository Reports in version 6.5.52.2.0.
    Maybe I dont have a requested module, where can I get it ? can anyone help ?
    thanks in advance,
    regards,
    Sylvain

    Hi Sylvain,
    I'm having similar problem. When I'm trying to run any of the Repository report it is moaning saying REP-0736 There are uncompiled program units. After compiling thry Report builder I get ORA-600 error but not able to successfully run any report. Wonder why ?
    I'm having same versions as yours.
    Regards
    Nitin Hi !
    My problem occurs when I try to generate a previewed report to a RTF file. At the same time, the "Report Builder" menu item from the "run" menu is disabled. Maybe I have to install Oracle Reports ? should I download it from Oracle web site ?
    Have a good day,
    Sylvain

  • Repository Reports Parameters Palette

    When I run the Repository Reports, I get the 2 windows (Pre-defined Reports List and the Parameters Palette). However, the Parameters Palette window remains blank - consequently any report I run comes back empty !
    Does anyone have a suggestion as to the possible cause/remedy of this problem ?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    The interesting picture turns out.
    if I generate the report in format HTML, XML or RTF Russian font shows that normally, and here if I generate in format PDF that as well as in window Report Runtime instead of Russian not clear symbols.
    It turns out that at delivery of the report in Report Runtime and PDF it(he) generates them in the coding Western and in other cases normally cyrillics (Windows.)
    If I in IE change the coding of the generated report with cyrillics (Windows) on Western that just and I receive a picture with Russian fonts as in Report Runtime and PDF generation.

  • Repository Reports - No Descriptions

    Hi, I am using Designer 9i (9.0.4.3.14). I have imported DDL from an existing database into my repository and created a server diagram and er diagram. My problem is that when I try to generate any repository reports, they table descriptions just show as blank, even though I can see them via the server diagram popups and the repository object browser. Why?
    Also, if I export to DDL, I see the original table comments that were imported into the repository, but if I change the comments in the repository and export DDL I still see the old comments?
    Help!

    Could be a number of things, not enough info to tell, try these ....
    - Designer has 4 different types of text for a Table. You say "description", but there is Description and Notes (both are long multi-line text), Help Text, and Comment. You can see all four types in RON. The Comment gets used for DDL gen, the Help Text gets used for Forms gen, and the other two are just that, descriptive text and notes to developers that don't go outside the repository.
    - note that different Repository Reports show different types of the text. Check the help for a report to see exactly which type it is showing you (I wind up customizing the reports quite often to get the types I want for a specific client organization.
    - Also ... you can fire up the ROB tool, the Repository Object Browser, because it show you a nice HTML page for any element that includes ALL the properties and content for the element and all of it's sub-elements (i.e. a Table, all its Columns, PKs, UKs, FKs, Constraints, etc etc)
    - You say that your generated result has old comments. But it isn't clear if this is the resulting tables in the target database or the DDL statements generated to get there. There is a flag / preference that you set to get the Table Comment to be included in the generated DDL, and thus to be applied to the target database.
    - If you are getting the "old" comment, then I would look at which type of text you are updating. Or I would look at some issue with having version control set up or managed improperly. (i.e. updating to a new version but generating from an old version).
    Usually this all works just fine.
    Hope this helps

    In solution manager i find these errors:-
    The data for this session is overdue. Data has not yet been transferred from the associated satellite system.
    Go to the Service Data Control Center (transaction SDCCN) in the satellite system and check why the data has not been sent.
    Typical sources of errors are:
    The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.
    The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.
    Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).
    A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data.

    Please help.

    Akif

    Hi Akif,
    Could you please try deleting the RFC Connection and entering it again in the Managed system.
    1) SDCCN
    2) Goto-> Settings-> Task specific.
    3) RFC Destinations-> Settings click on change mode.
    4) Delete the RFC and then add the RFC Connection again and mark as Master and active.
    Then check it, hope it solves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Raghavendra.

  • Error while generating the report in BI using CRM

    dear experts...   .  / friends  ...
    i have created a query long back called SERVICE REQUEST using Query designer
    using that particular query i have generating the reports from MAY 1 to till date
    in my report i have a characteristics called USER STATUS , for this user status i can restrict the below values i.e
    open
    reopen
    waiting
    in - transfer
    resolved
    new
    completed
    in the above values , i want to get the transaction numbers which are not completed i.e. i need to exclude complete
    and i need to include all the above values
    but after generating the report , am getting completed records too...
    and in the report  i saw for that completed record i have OPEN DOCUMENTS(key figures)  and NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS(key figures) is 0
    actually if we see any updated record for the particular report the key figure NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS should be 1 right?
    so in my scenario if NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS getting 0 so the filter condition for COMPLETED , is not working
    so that the reason  even though i have filtered the COMPLETED value for the USER STATUS field , am getting those
    fields....
    so friends kindly help me in this regard to avoid completed value for the filed USER STATUS..
    thanks in advance...for u r helping
    regards...
    GA

    dear experts,
    for the above issue i have raised the OSS message and i got the below reply as well..
    they told me to create a pre queris can any one help me in this regard?
    =>
    => If you want to ensure that all completed transactions are filtered
    from the report even when keyfigure "open documents" <> 0 then
    you have to adjust your query definitions, e.g. by means of
    pre-queries to create a list of records for which a "completed"
    state-entry exists.

  • Generating a report based on two analytics(for ex:PO and PR)

    I have a question regarding generating reports on two analytics.
    In our scenarios,
    We need to generate a report based on Purchase order and Purchase request.Is it possible in OBIA?
    if yes,please provide the solution.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    Thanks for your valuable time.
    We are in designing phase of the project. we need to know ,Is there any inbuilt dashboards or reports built using both PO and PR repositories?
    I would like to explain with ex:
    Let's say we need a report or dashboard containing few fields from PO and few fields from PR.Let's assume both PO and PR data available at same granularity.
    Do we have any such inbuilt reports or dashboard?
    If not,could we customize the report generation using both PO and PS tables?
    Please provide the solution.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to generate a report for all Analyses which conatins a specific column

    Hello Experts
    I am trying to generate a report of all Analyses which contains a specific column. We are currently using OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0.
    I have tried to use the command line options using ./runcat.sh, but did not find any arguments that can filter the analyses by a specific column used.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
    SampleApp has your answer: everything is available for free, just copy/paste and run on your own instance.
    http://slc02ojw.oracle.com:7780/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=%2Fshared%2F10.%20Lifecycle%20and%20Admin%2F_port…
    (as long as this instance will be up...)
    In the dashboard named "10.31 Webcat Analysis" you have a columns to analysis report where you select the presentation column and you get all the reports using it.
    This dashboard require a script to be run on your catalog, it will parse it and extract all the column info (and many other interesting things) and load it in a database. The scripts are simple and well documented, so you can easily adapt them to your own environment.
    If you want the script there is no miracle solution: download SampleApp and extract it (it's not small, but with all the great content it has we can't complain about that ...).

  • How to generate jasper report in pdf format using swing

    hi all,
    im new to swing and jasper.. can anybody provide me some example on how to generate the jasper report in pdf format? i will call the reportManager from sessionBean.. below is my code:
    1)delegate:
    public GenerateReportDto generateIntoPdfReport(String fileName, String outputFileName, Map parameters){
    GenerateReportDto generateReportDto = getAuditTrailServiceRemote().generateIntoPdfReport(fileName, outputFileName, parameters);
    return generateReportDto;
    2)sessionBean:
    public GenerateReportDto generateIntoPdfReport(String fileName, String outputFileName, Map parameters){
    //Map parameters = new HashMap();
    ReportManager reportManager = new ReportManager();
    3)ReportManager()
    public void generateIntoPdfReport(String fileName, String outputFileName, Map parameters) {
              Connection conn = null;
              try {
                   conn = dataSource.getConnection();
                   //Generate the report to bytes
                   File reportFile = new File(fileName);
                   byte[] bytes =
                        JasperRunManager.runReportToPdf(
                             reportFile.getPath(),
                             parameters,
                             conn
              //conn.close();
              //Write the bytes to a file
              ByteBuffer buf = ByteBuffer.wrap(bytes);
              File file = new File(outputFileName);
              // (if the file exists)
              boolean append = false;
              // Create a writable file channel
              FileChannel wChannel = new FileOutputStream(file, append).getChannel();
              // Write the ByteBuffer contents; the bytes between the ByteBuffer's
              // position and the limit is written to the file
              wChannel.write(buf);
              // Close the file
              wChannel.close();
              } finally {
                   if (conn != null) {
    conn.close();
    Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    One 'simple' way is by using the DBMS_SCHEDULER db package and the procedure CREATE_JOB(....) using as job_type the value 'EXECUTABLE'...
    Read for further info in 'PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference'.
    If you have access to OEM ... you can configure this there using wizard.....
    Other way is to use the External Procedure call capabiblity of Oracle DB Server...:

    My greetings,
