Generic Caldav support

What's the plan for Windows Phone to support connecting to non-Google Caldav servers that support the Caldav protocol generically?

If you're asking in the context of the built-in email client then you should ask on our forum for OS Consumer Support, i.e. almost any support of the Preview for Developer release that is not related to developing an application, in the Microsoft Community
website here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wpdp
As I understand it, in the context of application development, CalDev data is just XML.

    - Code completion
    - Usage search
    - Refactoring (like Renaming, Class moving, etc.)
    - and more...
A 30-day trial can be downloaded from our web page at

Any feedback regarding JSR 14 support is much appreciated.
    Best regards,

    Omnicore Software

    I wrote a class MultiMap<K, V> extends Map<K, Set<V>>
        // Various constructors, methods, fields.
        public Set<V> get(K key)
            // Implementation
} It compiles fine with the Sun reference compiler, but a friend tells me that CodeGuide 5.0 build 504 complains "There already is another method with the same erasure." It could be that CodeGuide is correct and Sun wrong, because I can see that there might be issues with overriding the get(Object) method with a get(K), but I thought I'd mention it.

  • CalDav support Iphone

Hi Guys, I have just spent the last two weeks setting up support for CalDav on my server, only to find that there seems to be a problem with syncing it on my iPhone. I am using the exact same settings that I use to get CalDav working on my Mac using iCal 3.
Does anyone know if this is possible to set up on the iPhone/3G without getting it jailbroken first or using a Blackberry. Would be great as it means that I can take my calendar with me rather than having to sync with iTunes to update.
At the moment, it syncs the Calendar Names, but stops short of puling my events of the server!! (Strange)
Also I can post events, but if I refresh my settings, these disappear, despite me posting them from my iPhone!

Beleive you me I have tried this several times. the thing is I have it working fine on Mac OS X: here are my notes:
I have set up my phone to access the sever using a similar setup for ICal 3:
    i.e.
To confgure it so it works with SOGo, create a new account and specify, as the Account URL,
    an URL such as :
    http://localhost/SOGo/dav/jdoe/
Note that the trailing slash is important for Apple iCal 3.
When setting up a CalDav account it requests:
    1. Server Address
    2. Username
    3. pasword
    4. Description
This seems to be enough. The Iphone/ipod verifies the account details and then gives you the option to save or cancel.
Looking in the cakendar folder reveals a list of Calendars as accessible via ICcal 3 and thw webmail interface.
However there does not appear to be any info in the calendars.
When I try to add an event, it quickly shows up on the server though.
Looking at advanced options reveals the server is currently working from port 80
If i choose to use ssl it switches to port 8443
I get a message that my certificate could not be verified with an option to accept or cancel.
I try to connect via ssh port 8443 and it fails
Interestingly, when i switch ssh off, it goes back to port 8008 for some reason.
I try switching this back to 80 and that doesn't work either so I try restarting sogo. switching my account on and off and also making sure there is a trailing slash on the Advanced settings account url
and this does work. Only thing is I have lost my previous entry on the iTouch.
If I select save and go to the calendar app, there is no calendars there.
if I go back to advanced settings and enable SSL, the Port number changes form 80 to 8443. This seems to authenticate with the ssrver as you are asked about whether or not you want to accept the certificate.
(Also of interest if that the @sign used as part of my Sever Address has changed to read %40)
Well it seems to work then stops and starts. Not sure what is going on here. I have included some log files. Any help to get this working would be appreciated.

  • Generic Sync. support for non-SAP backend

    Hi
Does Generic synchronization allows mobile applications to call function module residing in any non-SAP backend.I am not sure about this.
The documentation for MDK says we have to use Business Connector for this.
Where can i find the Business Connector for this purpose.
Which non-SAP backends are supported by Generic Sync framework.

    Hello Ashwani,
have a look at http://service.sap.com/connectors. Here you will find also the SAP Business Connector.

  • Will there be any official caldav-support for iCloud calendar?

I'm using an iPad, iPod and iMac and I love to work with this devices. But for work I'm using a company owned Ubuntu-Laptop and/or Win7 PC and this will not change. For email and calendar I use Thunderbird with Lightning. There it's possible to integrate nearly any calendar but not that one from iCloud.
I have to use different calendars (company work calendar / private calendar) to separate all entries. For private I'm now using the Google-Calendar because google supports nearly every open standard and integrates in all worlds (Mac / Windows / Linux). When will iCloud calendar become more open and flexible?
Same is for contacts => there is a standard called CardDAV why doesn't Apple support this?
    Best regards

You are just talking to other users here, and none of us can answer your question. To convey you views to Apple, use the feedback channel:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html
Thai is hardly alone in lacking support currently. Others are Arabic, Hebrew, all the languages of India and Pakistan, and all the rest of S.E. Asian including Vietnamese.
The languages which are supported are listed very clearly in the tech specs for the iPod. If you must have Thai you should buy something else. For the benefit of other readers, perhaps you could recommend a similar device with good Thai support?

  • Lack of Generic Tree support

I am wondering how people feel about the lack of the Tree type in Java? I find the Java types pretty weak generally, but at least there are several Set, Map, List implementation to choose from. There is no Tree, or perhaps there are too many. There is the UI tree classes (in swing), the Preference class has a tree like interface, JNDI, etc.
I am wondering if this is a problem for others? We ended up creating our own Tree interface and implementations.
    Pat O

Have you looked at the DefaultMutableTreeNode? Ifso, what is lacking in your opinion?
It's Swing. I've used JVMs on headless Linux boxes
which had serious issues with AWT to the extent that
we simply did not use any AWT or Swing classes. No, it isn't. I mean, sure, it's in a javax.swing.something package, but it doesn't have any GUI components. I don't think headlessness should affect it in the least.
I'm happy to be proven wrong, but only with malfunctioning code, not with a quick look at the name of the package.

  • Error: Generics not supported in -source 1.4, try using -source 1.5

I'm using the NetBeans 4.1 IDE, and I have both JDK 1.5 and 1.4.2 installed on my computer (Mac OS X). Both JDKs are registered in the Java Platform Manager (JDK 1.4.2 is default). I have specified JDK 1.5 to be the library to use for my project (under the Libraries section in the Projects menu).
I have the feeling however, that the IDE is using the 1.4 version of javac to parse the code in the IDE (I get the red underline that indicates the error in the subject) and when I try to compile. I have no idea where to find the option "-source 1.4" though, so that I can change it to 1.5
I tried to change the JDK source in my netbeans.conf file using the line:
    netbeans_jdkhome="/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/[more here]/1.5.0/"
but doing so causes NetBeans to fail to launch without giving a reason why it failed.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
    Thank you,
    Eric

    Update:
I changed the symbolic link at /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK to point to 1.5 vice 1.4.2, so now OS X is actually using the 1.5 version of java and javac, but after restarting NetBeans, I still get the same error, though now JDK 1.5 is the default JDK in the Java Platform Manager menu.

  • CalDav hosting in the Internet for iCal and Others

    Hi there
We'd like to synchronize (read/write) our calendars online. (2-3 Users)
    Systems:
    - OS X 10.5.1 & ICal
    - Linux with iE. Mozilla Calendar
    - Anything with a Browser from the internet
    Needed functionality:
    - Hosted in the internet (not by us) with at least view options in a browser from anywhere.
    - Read and Write Access for multiple users (could be same account)
    What I've done so far:
    - Searched for CalDav Hosting in the Internet. I *did not found* a single plattform with CalDav support. Of course there are lot of iCal (WebDav) servers, even for free, where we could publish our calendars (webdav probably), but no CalDav Servers found!? I think there should be a HUGE demand on such services?!
    - Created a calendar at Google and synchronized it with Spanning Sync to my iCal. This solution is working pretty good (even at 25$ / year), but the taste of using a sync tool, instead of CalDav does not make me "happy".
Well, that's the best i found so far. But once again, there should be a service provider for CalDav somewhere ?!
I hope you can help me ...
    Greetings from Switzerland
    Bernhard von Gunten

why don't you look at these two links:
    http://www.busymac.com
    http://www.spanningsync.com
i use spanning sync to sync ical on two macs with google calendar. works quite well and i can access/manage my calendars on either my mcas or on the web. busysync from busymac will achieve the same thing.
    hope this helps

  • Synced WebDAV/CalDAV calendars

Does anyone know whether or not the 2.01 update fixes the problem where subscribed/synced calendars in iCal using WebDAV/CalDAV are not shown or synced with MobileMe and iPhone? I have Google calendars and work WebDAV calendars that I can't get to sync through MobileMe.

It does not appear to be supported yet on MobileMe/iCal.
There is a product called BusySync that I tried which does sync your Google Calendar(s) with iCal. It is fully editable in iCal and updates are automatically synced with Google. Best part is that it looks like a local calendar in iCal so it is also synced with MobileMe, and subsequently iPhone/iTouch, and MobileMe on Windows. BusySync is not expensive, but I am still looking for a free solution.
I wish Apple would get their act together. If they offer native CalDAV support in iCal 3.x then they should mirror that functionality in MobileMe.

  • External Drive not supported, cant burn CDs, after 10.5.8 update

After having spent just about a month sorting out one massive irritation I now get another one.
My internal drive is not working, (disc stuck inside and I gave up on it almost a year ago. Please don't give any advice on how to get it out, it's a goner OK - not worth the fuss nor the $).
So I bought an external La Cie burner which has worked fine on 10.5.7 for well, almost a year. Since I updated yesterday to 10.5.8 i get a Finder burn message saying the drive is not supported.
What do I do then? I know this must be really easy (I hope). Thanks in advance

Thanks but there is no latest update. The Firmware is vLA00, current.
So what is going on? Why do they do 'up'dates when it's just a downdate fps....
OK rant over. What do I do now? How can I get back to 10.5.7? Should I even'
    Help! Thanx in advance.
Oh, by the way. In System Profiler's > disc burning > burn support column it says it does have support
(Generic Drive Support). So why does it say it doesn't support the drive when i try to use it?

  • Need ATI Rage 128 support on Solaris 8-1-01 (Intel)

    Hi,
I am trying to install Solaris 8 (the new 8-1-01 release) onto an intel-based PC with an AGP-based ATI Rage 128 video driver, and there appears to be no option listed in the video driver list on the install CD, and the dirver on the hardware isn't recognized. I've tried a couple of the ATI drivers, but they seem to be PCI-based only, so of course, don't find the board, and I don't get beyond the hardware config phase. I notice there's a patch (#109401-05) specifically for ATI Rage 128 drivers, but how to apply if I can't install in the first place? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    David

Have you tried installing and selecting the "Generic 640X480" support? The continue on through the rest of the install.
Once you get that all complete, add the new driver, then run kdmconfig to reconfig the video stuff.

  • B2B Support SOAP via SOAP Service and/or HTTP Posting?

I cannot find any documentation that points to the B2B product and it's support for SOAP. Can someone point me to this documentation if any?
If someone can answer the quick questions in the subject that would be great as well.

ebXML standard is typically supported by all available B2B Integration products. Oracle B2B is interoperability certified by Drummond group for ebXML. ebXML offers much richer security framework compared to basic SOAP and it will be a easy change for your partners - they need to configure their B2B to talk ebXML.
We are also planning on adding generic SOAP support in our next release. Please send me an e-mail and I can keep you posted.
Also if you need a demo of the product, we can arrange one as well.
    Thanks - Sundar

  • CALDAV, Calendar sync

    Hello,
I would like to sync my N5800 with an shared/online iCal calendar using CALDAV.
I used to sync my iCal using CalGoo to GCal to sync to my phone. But since we switched for a network iCal at work, that solution is no longer available since there are no more local .ics files. Anyways, if I can leave GCal aside, I wouldn't mind.
I also tried OVI, but that seems to be a pure backup solution.
Is it really possible that Nokia can't sync using CALDAV yet?
Is there no application that can provide a simple sync feature with an online iCal/CALDAV calendar?
I really don't want to get an iPhone. But it seems to be the only solution. Is that really possible?
    Thanks for your ideas....

I'm still looking for CALDAV support on Nokia (Symbian OS), but to no avail.
However, there is a blog saying about this possibility: http://developer.symbian.org/wiki/index.php/CalDav, I'm checking on it.

  • Wcap server versus caldav server (roadmap)

    Good afternoon,
Right now, Sun offers two calendar servers the wcap (6.3) and the caldav (7.0).
Are there any roadmap on what these two branches are becoming?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    benoit.schmid wrote:

Are there any roadmap on what these two branches are becoming? The short version is that Calendar Server 6.3 is to be replaced by Calendar Server 7 so no further development is going into the older Calendar Server 6.3 product. Dependant products (Convergence and Outlook Connector) will at some point in the future be able to use Calendar Server 7 (CalDAV support). The only other "roadmap" that I can provide publicly is here:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Calendar+Server+7+What%27s+New#CalendarServer7What%27sNew-FutureEnhancements
Anything more detailed will need to come from your Sun Account Manager so I suggest asking them.

  • CardDAV support in iPhone / Win

Any ideas about CardDAV support in iPhone?
Any ideas about good CardDAV connector for outlook?
    Thanks a lot.

I've been a loyal Outlook user since 2004, but I'm seriously considering switching to Thunderbird because I'm tired of Outlook's lack of calDAV support. calDAV is a standard; most mail clients support it these days. I used to consider outlook a full-function
product, and it was the main reason why I kept buying office releases. I don't mind
Microsoft having proprietary formats, but they should also support the standards everyone else has embraced. After multiple Outlook releases without adequate support for these kind of things, and no official word from Microsoft, at the very least, with an explanation
of why, I am about ready to give up. It would be one thing if Microsoft gave a reason, but the silence is the worst part of all. I prefer Outlook's interface in every way to all the competitors I've tried, but the lack of certain core features like
calDAV are devastating to its value.
To hear that Microsoft added this feature, and then removed it, is just an insult.
