Get a word document at background

Hi all,
We have a requirement here that we need to get a word document at background. Basically to archive the result layout of a smartform but in a word document. Since the client need to change it. And since it is an BSP application, we need to do it in background. No OLE or GUI function should be available.
Do anybody have any idear.

This is what Apple says, but what they don't tell you is that you still need to have Pages on one or both machines. I tried what you suggested and could not get them to load much less sync, since neither my iMac nor iPad have Pages.

I tried emailing myself a word document and opening it on my ipad. The tutorial says I should just be able to touch on the attachment, but I get the message saying it can't open the document.

The iPad will open an emailed word document without any additional apps.

Do the following:
1. Fire up the document you created in Word
2. From the menubar select File->Print
3. In the Print dialog box that appears click on the PDF button (bottom left)
4. Save the document somewhere logical to you. In this case the Pictures folder is as good as any.
5. Quit Word
6. Click on the desktop to make it active and then right click on it (Ctrl+Click)
7. In the submenu that appears select Change Desktop Backround
8. In the Desktop & Screensaver window that appears select the Pictures Folder in the left hand pane and then the document you saved in the right hand pane.
That should be it. You should now have a desktop backround that you created.

Some contract templates(MS Word-2010) are storing in DOCUMENTAM (This MS-Word 2010's location name looks like, [http://emdn.dct.jppharma.com/includes/site_selector/index.html?FM?#includes/FM/dirview,asp]
For some reason, i need to fetch them into application, is there any standard FM / BAPIs / Classess?
Pls. let me know how can achieve it?
Actually, i need not fetch it as a 'document'....... just i need the content / text / matter wrote on that MS-Word-2010 document
So that, i will may put that content / text into a new (preferably PDF or MS-Word2010 again) document and i will email it

Connect a Word document instance to Generic Object Services/BDS

Hello all,
how can I manage to get a word document created via the Doc_template step to a certain Business Object (like Business Partner). I tried to trace that but I got lost in generations of codes like archivelink, sap office, knowledge provider etc.) I guess it should not be that difficult as I have the key of the word doc instance and the key of the business partner instance. What I want at last is to have that word document linked via attachments/linked objects or something similar....

Welcome to the forum!
I have done this sometime ago at a past client site and will see if I can find the code.
If I remember correctly, this involves converting the attachment to an SOFM object (using method CREATESOFM of BO WF_DOC) and then using function module BINARY_RELATION_CREATE to attach it to the BO. How do I generate a Word document and a PDF from Help files?

I am new to RoboHelp HTML, and am using version 8. I updated some Help files, and now I want to generate output. Here are my questions/ or the process I used:
To compile the help, I clicked Generate Primary Layout. Is this correct? I noticed that the date stamp on the xpj file has not changed. The date is still from many months ago. (Why is that? Should it show a recent update date?) However, the files that I updated do reflect the dates when I made the updates. These include art files, an hhp, and htm, js, ldb, pss, cpd files.
To generate a pdf, I clicked Generate PDF. I was not able to generate the PDF at first, but then, I enabled macros in Word 2007 (Trust Center Settings > Enable all macros...and clicked the checkbox, Trust access to the VBA project object model), and clicked Generate PDF. At the end of the generation, I got this error in Word: Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The info you were working on might be lost. Word can try to recover it for you. I closed the dialog and Word generated several blank documents. Microsoft Office Diagnostics was run and found one problem and corrected it. Despite the error message, a pdf was generated. (If you could give me any insight on why I got the error messages, that could be helpful to know).

Welcome to our community
Note that RoboHelp is capable of creating a variety of layouts. WebHelp, FlashHelp, AIR Help, Microsoft HTML Help, JavaHelp, Oracle Help, ePub and more.
Any of these layouts may be nominated as the Primary layout. So when you generate the Primary layout, you get whatever has been configured as the Primary layout.
Only certain actions will result in a change to the .XPJ file. The actions are indicative of major changes to the project. So I wouldn't fret the fact that the date time stamp wasn't updated.
Indeed the Printed Documentation Single Source Layout recipe is what you use to create PDF. Generally what happens is that RoboHelp creates a Microsoft Word document as an intermediate file type, then creates the PDF from that. As you might imagine, there are a host of things that can go wrong during the process. I might suggest that you first get a Word document to generate cleanly. Then once you do that, focus on PDF. I know that I typically gen a Word document and stop there. I just open Word and use Word to create the PDF.
If you look at the properties for the Printed Documentation Single Source Layout recipe (View > Pods > Single Source Layouts then right-click the Printed Documentation layout and choose Properties) you will see that PDF, Word or both are options at the top of the dialog.
Hopefully that gives you a nudge in the right direction.

Convert Adobe Form (with data) to Microsoft Word Document

I am attempting to convert an Adobe PDF Form (with data included) to a Microsoft Word document.
When I use the menu to attempt this, I get a Word document containing only the form fields.
I want to be able to grab all the text from the document, as these forms were used to fill in information for Job Descriptions, and I want to submit the text to job boards (without having to retype anything).
What are my options for obtaining this information?

Just to confirm, a fillable PDF is different from a standard PDF, as it stores the form fields in a special way, likewise, the data is stored in a special way. This is actually a quite useful feature, for compiling data, if you use the form multiple times.
A standard export of a fillable PDF exports only the fields.
To get the data, I would have to choose to save form data.
To get the fields and the data, I have to print it using a PDF printer to create a new PDF document. Once I create this new PDF document, I can then export to Word as desired.
If I want ONLY form fields: (one-step process)
Export > Microsoft Word > %filename%.DOC
If I want ONLY form data:(one-step process)
File > Save FORM DATA > FDF file format > %filename%.FDF
If I want both the form and the data: (two-step process)
File > Print to PDF > Save as %filename%.PDF
Open %filename%.PDF > Export > Word Document
Is this the process? Pardon my confusion, but I am a newbie, and I do not have the program to test with.

Inconsistent Behavior When Displaying Word Document

I use the following code to display an OrdDoc object on a web page using a servlet. When the object is a Word document and it is being displayed for the first time, the Word application handles the document. The second time it is displayed, the IE browser plug-in handles the document. Can you tell me why this is so? How can I get the Word document to just display in the IE browser everytime? Image objects are consistently displayed in the browser. Thank you.

The ORDDoc type will not be able to recognized the WORD document and set the mimetype attribute correctly. Thus when you populate the object you should set the mimetype attribute yourself using the setMimeType() method of ORDDoc.
When the object is fetched and sent on by the HttpResponseHandler, the handler will use the mimetype setting to set that field in the Response header. This should help browsers to handle the content correctly.

The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

You can't change the way Pages import .doc files.
It was never written that it reproduce exactly the original one.
From my point of view, as I refuse to give a cent to M...soft, the best way to deal with documents issued by their Office suite is to use the free libreOffice.

When I try to print from web page I get "printer not activated - error code 30", but I can copy text into Word document & printer works.

I am unable to print anything from an internet web page. I continually get "printer not activated, error code- 30" followed by "An unknown error occurred while printing". I can copy the material from the web page, place into a Word document and then print. This just started yesterday and I have no idea why. Would appreciate your advice!

How to get the number of page by creating OLE microsoft word document

I have generated a word document using ole in sap abap report.
May i know which command can i use to call the word object to get the number of page before closing the word document?
eg. call method of wordobj 'insertpagefield' ? and i need to require the page number in a variable eg. gv_pagenumber for other filtering purposes.
